my little dovahkiin: escorting isn't very magical at all
it was a rainy day in the red light district of canterlot, a place crawling with bad intentions and slimy characters, we pan across the cityscape to a run-down apartment building off to the left of a rather discrete whore house, it was here that he decided that he’d make his haven from the oppression of his former caretaker Twilight Sparkle.
“but celestia, why did it have to smell this way.”
That guy is Spike, cool name right; it was given to him by his “sister”. He owned it until the 8th time he saw it on a dogs collar, after that he slipped into being called simply S in the social crowds around Canterlot. that being said you’re probably wondering why hes in Canterlot in the first place well heres why.

It had been unbearably hot this wednesday, so much in fact that spike had completely misplaced all articles of his clothing in middle of the night much to the dismay of twilight every morning.
“celestia, spike why are you completely naked!?!?!” she asked while feverishly trying to cover her facial features; spike however was unabashed in his nudity.
“tell you what, Twi.” he began.
“you have a direct line with the princess of the sun, you tell her to stop with the heat wave and i’ll throw on some clothes.” he reasoned.
spike had always had something resembling a humble attitude regardless of his growth spurt; with the appearance of new found muscles that always seemed to fill a shirt at least for a 15 year old, he found that he began to lose his clothing in almost every fashion imaginable and started to almost never feel embarrassed about his nudity, but all in clean fun as he was still the person that his town had known and loved, just with a little more gusto reminiscent to his longtime friend Rainbow Dash.
“Spike you know it doesn’t work like that, she only raises the sun she doesn’t moderate its temperature.” she explained as if it was second nature.
As spike got older twilight and the six stayed exactly the same, age hadn’t touched them in the slightest, probably because it was only the span of 2 years since Twilight found spike in his bed in which he dwarfed due to a sudden growth spurt, at first she had reasoned that it was his collecting habits as it was problematic in the past, but as interpreted by Princess Celestia herself this wasn't some horrible mutation caused by a defective gene in his dragon blooded heredity, no no spike was just getting........old and his biology had made him grow larger.....quicker.
“yeah yeah, it would have been nice for her to send the occasional breeze are way though.” spike replied.
“would you quit complaining and put something on already.” Twilight said obviously fed up with his insolence.
“okay, but i won’t like it.” he said grudgingly.
with that part of the day done twilight and spike slipped into their usual canon wear and started work for the day, and like every other day spike worked diligently and efficiently, his dragon blood might have increased his muscle mass and testosterone but it never affected how he felt for his friends. minus a few passes at him made by the boldest of the six and the occasional glance n’ blush he got from the more passive members, spike was all in all the same, nothing had really changed except for his body and that includes his childlike ignorance about why the sudden change in his body structure would make his friends act....funny.
“wow we cut down by 2 hours today, you know what you've earned some free time.” twilight said in a impressed manor.
“oh boy!” spike said sarcastically but in all fairness he was excited to finally be able to get out, and with little fanfare spike left his abode and went out on the town. he strolled through the cobblestone streets and smiled, though it was sweltering beyond belief, equestria was always beautiful outside. through the beautiful tree groves and pass the rose bushes was his favorite spot in the tiny town, a relatively small hill that he sat on and would think for hours about gods know what, and so began another session of thinking with spike.
“wow, this place is......really boring.” he said while standing on a hill top.
“man, i wish there was something to d-.” just as he said that, a technicolor streak appeared accompanied with the sound of mach 4 being shattered as it zoomed by, its high color streaks lingering in the air as it destroyed clouds left and right, yes its none other than Ms. 20% percent cooler herself, Rainbow Dash. ah yes what can be said about RD that hasn't been said about her by anybody else: shes cool, hip, fly and............some other things that i won’t even go into at this point but i digress, its dash the inherently cool valkyrie that saved equestria from discord that one time thats part of the main 6....7.....whatever.
apparently she spotted him cause she immediately made a beeline for where he was standing and landed in his arms.
“hey squirt, what's up.” she said as she looked up at him.
“oh, nothing.” he said as he attempted to drop her unceremoniously, though in vain as she flapped her wings in time to save herself from the fall. “just bored is all, i figured i’ve been everywhere in this town.”
“really, cause’ i know a place we can go.” she said with a wink.
“...........i don’t follow.....”
“you know, a place to have some fun.”
“..........i don’t think pinkie is throwing any parties to-”
“not that you moron, i’m talking about the new club in Cloudsdale, me and fluttershy were going to head up tonight; you in?” she asked. but spike was reluctant at the invitation.
“i don’t know, you know how twilight can get sometimes.” spike remarked.
“boy please, you need twilight’s permission to piss nowadays, what you need to do is get out there and start acting like the adult you are.” she said.
“but i’m only 15.” he reminded her. while it was true that spike looked at least 18 in his body, his spirit and mannerisms were still that of a child and was rather apparent in a social setting.
“yeah, but your over the age of consent and thats good enough for anybody.” she responded.
“now are you in or are you out?” she asked again. to this spike was in thought yet again, trying to figure out whether he should disobey twilight and have quite possibly the time of his young life or should he obey her, stay home, and live out the rest of his childhood in blissful ignorance about the joys of adulthood......the answer was obvious.
“okay, but i’ll have to cover my tracks.” he said with new found exuberance.
“how ya gonna do that?” she asked.
“leave it to me, i got it planned out.” he said as he sprinted towards the house of intrest.
as he stood on the threshold of one of his few favorite places in Ponyville that he still liked to go, rather than the place itself its actually the person inside that he loves or at least loved. as he walked through the door he took survey of the loud ring that rang from the bell leading into the house.
“i am terribly sorry, but the boutique is closed for th- spike.” Rarity said as she descended the stairs to find the boy standing in the middle of her shop. to that she immediately prepped and preened herself to keep a lady like exterior as she ran into him for a small hug. he hugged back as he stroked the back of her head which was adorned in amethyst locks of hair, as they broke the hug he looked into her diamond eyes and saw the love and friendship that she and he shared with a hint of something else that he didn't quite know.
“hello rarity.” spike said lovingly. while he gave the crush up years ago, he still couldn't help but see her in the beautiful light he’d seen her in when he’d arrived 7 years ago with twilight. now the love was just tempered in the fires of mutual friendship instead of infatuation. she walked to her couch, sat down and patted the empty spot next to her which spike perceived as an invitation to sit down and lookit dat he was right.
“so, what brings you to my humble abode?” she said. "does twilight have a dress request?"
"oh no, i had something to ask you." he said sounding unsure of himself.
"yes?" she said sounding a little more excited than she wanted to.
“so um, how do i ask this?” he began. she waited on baited breath for the question. was he gonna do it? had he finally worked up the courage?
“i need you.......to cover for me while me and rainbow go to cloudsdale.”
no. he would make her wait some more, though she didn't want to seem needy or shallow, when spike went through his growth spurt he....just seemed like a better choice in her rocky love life, the failed boyfriends, the sexual forwardness, the sexual frustration that followed all came back to its origin, and as of now that was spike.
“sure thing, darling.” she said with a sliver of depression that went completely unnoticed by the guy in question.
“aw, rarity you’re the best!” he exclaimed while giving here a quick peck on the cheek and dashing out of the boutique, leaving her to contemplate why that kiss felt so good. it was nonchalant more like the second nature kisses she used to give him, they just came naturally when he did something to her liking and its all he would ask for minus a couple of gems. it was perfectly safe but made her legs twitch with anticipation for....something, but for now she would wait, she knew spike couldn’t resist it forever..........could he?
spike ran at top speed through ponyville dwarfing at least 3 wonderbolts in the process, vaulting over anything that could be vaulted over until his home was in sight. he made a complete stop with more grip than a olympic gold medalist doing the flex-arm hang, he stood at the door collecting himself for the lie he was about to tell and how good he had to make it sound and gods did he have to make it sound good. he thought of the consequences if he failed as he walked through the door to see the librarian he called family feverishly embellished in a book.
“hey twilight.” spike said in a more cautious tone than he anticipated but like most things when twilight reads books it went unnoticed.
“yea.” she said without looking up from her book.
“so, i’m going to be at rarity’s for the night if you need me.” he said.
“yea, sure, whatever.” she said quickly.
“yeah so i......really?” he said sounding bewildered.
“yes.” she said sounding a little perturbed.
oh, uhh ok then.” he said as he walked out of the library, feeling strangely proud of himself.
“just be back by-” she started before she looked up to see spike no longer there. “midnight.”
spike walked to the cloud that hovered over his town with a sense of smoothness that hasn’t been felt since the days of big mac’s youth. he had just lied to one of the most attentive women he ever knew, now that twilight was oblivious to what he was actually doing he and the two pegasi/valkyries would be able to leave unhindered.
“hey dash!” he yelled at the cloud, she then looked down with a smug smile.
“let me guess, she said no right?” she said even more smugly than the smile itself.
this only proved to bolster spike’s ego due to the fact that spike had indeed got permission and very easily at that, but~ he couldn’t miss this opportunity to mess with her, so he put on his best frown and said in the gloomiest voice he could think of.
“yeah, sometimes i don’t think she cares about my feelings i only came to tell you to tell them not to look for me.” he said grimly.
“whoa dude, what are you talking about?” she said with apparent worry in her voice.
yeah i’m gonna leave and i’m not coming pffthahahaha NO, twilight said i could go.” he said returning the smugness twofold.
“ok ok, thats cool, are you ready to go get fluttershy?” she said reverting to normal speech.
“yeah lets go before i get old enough to get in.” spike joked.
as they walked to the city limits of ponyville where said woman resided, spike took the time to realize that the sunset was starting to set in the east which was perfectly normal for a late spring afternoon so he thought nothing of the passing of time but instead wondered about the shy valkyrie herself.
she was shy apparently by nature, in the seven years that he had known her she had come to adore the little boy that he was, now though; being around her was often awkward and held so much tension that sometimes he wouldn’t see her for 2 or more weeks and when he did she’d often shy away which was normal except, she’d only shy away from him. it saddened him to no end the first few times but now he just took it with water like it was medicine, and resolved not to resent her at all and figured it was the transformations fault for making him seem foreign to her.
as they arrived to her house a plethora of animals started to make.......sound as they approached, which wasn’t overly different and was pretty much expected as they’ve been to her house a dozen times and were no longer startled by the hoots and caws of the animals in question. as they knocked on the door, they waited about 2 minutes before a albino toddler opened the door, the little spawn of tartarus that was known ironically as angel stared up at spike with the usual scowl that always adorned his face but as he recognized who it was his face softened into a unusual smile as spike high fived him on the way in. (lets not go into why that happened because i’m so sure you already know.) as they saw angel climb the stairs to tell his caretaker about the recent events rainbow and spike began idle chat.
“so dash, i need to ask you something.” spike said sounding unsure of his self.
“what is it?” she said noting the vulnerability in his voice.
he shifted his eyes side to side to see if any of fluttershy’s animals were around knowing her skill in talking to animals as he saw none he turned back to ask the question he wanted.
“why does fluttershy seem to hate me.” he asked cautiously and casually. rainbow dash cringed at this, she knew the reason why fluttershy didn’t conversate with him but was bound by a pinkie promise not to reveal why.
“come on spike she doesn’t hate you, you already know that.” she said with her nonchalant attitude that covered up any indication of a ruse that she might’ve been telling him.
“yeah, i suppose.” he said as he watched the stairs for her descension down them.
“i just wish i could know why.” he said in a hint of sadness. rainbow dash uncharacteristically frowned the deepest frown she frowned in a long time, spike’s feelings coupled with how he looked when he was sad made her heart sink.
“spike i-” she began before being cut off by someone yanking her shorts.
apparently, angel had seamlessly made the transition from upstairs to downstairs without them knowing and was pointing to the woman descending the stairs in her usual canon dresswear and looking as meek as ever.
“um, hi guys.” she said as she descended the stairs as quickly as she could and almost just as quickly lost her footing and began to fall.
rainbow reacted quickly and broke into a flash, time slowed down to a snails pace and in a split second rainbow saw that for once she wasn’t fast enough to save fluttershy and with that she began to panic midair as her eyes shifted from left to right searching for something to aid in her rescue of fluttershy. as her eye shifted to the left the body of spike was seen vaulting over the couch and speedily racing to grab the falling female. it was at that point that rainbow let what was happening sink in: spike just beat her in a race!
as spike reached and grab fluttershy he stumbled and slid to a stop on the floor.
“OH JEEZ, fluttershy are you alright?” he asked frantically.
“yes but why did you save me?” she asked.
“huh, because you’re my friend and i’d never let anything or anyone hurt you.......you matter too much to me.” he explained as he slightly tightened the embrace and let tear escape his eye and fall into her hair.
it was with that that she got up and hugged him more efficiently, they held the hug for an untold number of minutes, spike felt as if he’d never been any more blissful than how he was feeling right now, he inwardly wondered what was up with him why he felt the way he felt, rather than cozy feeling he usually got from hugging his friends, this feeling was now replaced by something new; something his brain was not used to. to him it felt like love but......deluded and self absorbed, it felt natural but it was foreign to spike’s PUNY MORTAL pre teenaged brain.
“oh spike, i know you’re a valued friend....but i could have flown and saved myself.” she said in that nurturing tone of hers.
“oh.” spike said as he put on the best poker face he could muster. (i’m sure you can imagine the awkwardness here so i’ll fast travel to cloudsdale from here.)
