Chapter 1: Departure to Equestria
Shoreham, New York, January 3rd, 1902 (base of Wardenclyffe Tower cupola)
I cannot see the device's operation. Yet, I must have seen it for a purpose. What can it be? I know that Wardenclyffe is the right place for this experiment, but why?
Nikola Tesla had a headache. Him having a headache was something out of the ordinary, but becasue of an invention? This was unheard of!
The day started out exemplary, he thought as he sat himself down in front of the strange device he had constructed.
I awoke, cleansed myself, dressed, and went down to take breakfast. Then it came, in a blinding flash of light, like all the others. Not quite like all the others, though. It appeared fully-formed, yet... incomplete? Yes. It was complete and not. I can see no conceivable use for this device.
Lightning began to crackle atop the unfinished Tower, straying to the antenna attatched to a small, humming device. The device has nearly finished taking power. It will soon... what will it do?
BOOM.
A blinding light emanated from the machine and engulfed itself and the legendary inventor. The light swelled, then shrank, revealing the base of the Tower's as-of-yet-unbuilt top. It was bare.
Chapter 2: Arrival
Near Fluttershy's cottage, Ponyville/Everfree Forest border
BANG. A great flash of light illuminated the forest, and a loud noise frightened off all the birds away. And, of course, scared poor Fluttershy badly enough that she screamed at the top of her lungs and fell off the tree branch she was clinging to. Down, down she tumbled, getting closer and closer to the ground until she managed to open her wings and get some air under them, flapping frantically to stabilize her position in the air.
"Hah! Ahhh. Phew. Oh... oh my. What in Equestria was that? Maybe I should go see if anypony is hurt..." She said to herself indecisively.
After battling her fear and her curiosity, she flapped her wings stronger and rose above the canopy of the forest, looking for evidence of the... thing. She looked about for a minute and was unable to find anything. Disappointed, she began to descend... but wait. What was this? She assumed that, at a higher altitude, she easily find the thing. She was, however, mistaken. Curious. Perhaps it was a refraction of the very light itself? No... that would require either a lot of heat, or a massive amount of energy, to do that. Her curiosity overwhelming her, ah, overdeveloped sense of fear, Fluttershy decided to check it out, and angled into a nosedive.
At the crater
"Mmm. Discomfort." From his position on his back, a bleary Nikola Tesla raised his head, opened his eyes, found them swimming with blurred colors and sights, and closed them again, unable to make anything out. He lay his head down again and passed right out.
Above the crater
Fluttershy slowed to a hover above the crater and surveyed the damage. There was a trail or streak, a trench dug into the ground, with some... non-pony creature at the end of it. It did not appear to be moving. Fluttershy's nurse instinct took over and dove towards the ground, leveling out well above the ground. This is taking too long... she thought. She eased into a nosedive again, but on a more manageable angle, about twenty-nine degrees. She arrived on the ground in thirty seconds, right next to the creature. As soon as she landed, he(for the creature was clearly male) opened his eyes, sending Fluttershy back into the sky with an "Eeep!" He moved his head a bit, looking around weakly. His eyes found their way to Fluttershy, hovering in the air. "A...a Pegasus?" was all he managed. He lay his head back down and closed his eyes. Wary, Fluttershy landed on the ground softly next to him. She nudged him lightly with her snout. He did not respond. The shy Pegasus just stood there next to him, once again unable to decide what to do. Cursing her indecisiveness, she nosed her head under him and eased him onto her back. I'll carry him to Twilight's, she thought. She'll know what to do.
At Twilight's Library, forty-five minutes later,
"Well? Do you know what he is? I'm sorry Twilight, I'm not trying to rush you, but I don't know anything about him! If I don't know anything, I can't treat him." Fluttershy said, pacing nervously, her wings fluttering.
True to form, Twilight had her snout deep in a book, and a very big one too. She was almost completely through the book (which was titled, and I quote, "The Big Book of Beasts! From Alicornia to Zebrica and everything in between!"), in the very, very back. The Mythological Creatures section, then.
"I honestly don't know for sure, Fluttershy. I found something that sort-of describes him. Here, see?" Twilight said, picking up the massive book in her magical grasp, and bringing it over to her Pegasus friend.
"Humans?" Fluttershy's ears drooped as she looked at the page and read it's text. A Human? Everypony has heard stories of Humans and their deeds. Legend has it that a very, very long time ago, before the founding of Equestria, Humans ruled the planet and enslaved the Ponies and other races. However, they could not use magic and thus were not very strong. Due to their magical weakness, they had to use technology to maintain their rule. However, the general populous disagreed on what exactly a Human should look like, and so, there were many different descriptions. However, one thing every single description agreed on was that they stood on two legs, and they did not have hooves, instead having hands. (Lyra would go nuts over him.)
"He's a... a Human?"
The most intelligent inventor in the past century and a half is stuck in Equestria. Who knows what will happen? Stay tuned!
