A Change in the Forecast
(2) Day 1; Can't this be done? Part 2
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI Stared at that little mark for a minute, thinking about what this could be. At last my mind just gave up and I gave into the urge to just madly scratch my leg. After I finish scratching I pull my pants up and sit on the closed toilet seat, resting my head in my palms.
Ughhh...What does this even mean? I think. I get up and leave the bathroom, and head back to the table.
"What was that about?" Liv asks.
"Nothing." I say. "I just had to go to the bathroom."
And the night went on like just that, a normal birthday night at Golden Corral. I could tell Liv and Melody knew something is wrong. When we got home it was time for Liv, Melody and I to drive home.
"Okay Mom! Bye!" I say as I climb into Liv's red car.
I was sitting next to Melody, who was fidgeting in her seat. When she stopped, she whispered in my ear,
"Alright, spill the beans!"
"What do you mean?" I reply.
"You've been acting weird all day!" She answered.
"When we get home." I add, ending the conversation. A few minutes later we're getting out of the car, and going into the small apartment complex. I walk down the hall, just for Melody to block my way.
"Tell me what's wrong now!" She demands.
I sigh, and pull down a part of my pants, the thundercloud just proudly sitting there. Her face goes from shocked to surprised, to horrified. She slowly pulles down her pants, revealing a white feather.
"I-Is that..." I stutter. She nods in reply, her face showing a sad expression. I pull up my jeans, and say,
"C-come on. Lets go to bed." I go to bed, not even bothering to brush my teeth.
