“Urrrgh, what a day.” I said as I walked through my small apartment. I had just arrived from working at the Air Base. I had to adjust the engines of thirteen F-22 Raptors, deliver the parts and ammo between different storages one mile apart from each other all day and I had to do a weapon maintenance of the whole base storage.
I still didn’t get why the US Military needed to supply SCAR-H, TYPE 25, SMR, XPR-50, DSR 50 and the lot. I mean, we looked like we were going to the front line there, I would have set for the old model G-36 as the main source of weaponary, those things were badass just by their looks. For God’s sake, we even had Launchers in the storages! just what is the Government thinking?!
Either way, I had spent like twelve hours at the base, doing non-stop hard work. I barely even got a half an hour lunch, which my comrades decided to mess it up by putting chilly on my food, I hate spicy food. And to top it all up, I have to make a two hour drive, and endure the agonizing trek between my home and work, twice.
So now I was finally home, all I wanted to do was throw myself into bed and let my frustration go. But unfortunately I still needed to do my chores around my home. The plates from past days piled up in the sink, starting to attract flies as they flew around. The living room was a mess with pizza boxes and beer bottles lying around. And don’t get me started on the bathroom! I really needed a housekeeper for when I’m out at work.
Dragging myself to the living room, I started to notice there was a small breeze which felt rather...weird. “I could have sworn I closed the door.” I turned around going back the way a came and check the door. Once in the hallway I could see the door was shut, the locks secured to stop anyone from getting entry to your home.
Deciding that it must be something of no importance I decided to head back to the living room. Once I turned the corner, I noticed something that made me stop in my tracks. In the middle of the room, I could see a tiny speck of light which floated at about three foot of the ground. The light wasn’t bigger than a pea, and upon closer examination I could spot small flecks of purple coming from the small orb.
“Well that’s something you don’t see every day.” I said to myself as I approached the ball, hoping to gain a better understanding of what it was by examining from up close. I was in front of the small orb, still just floating in the air, like waiting for something. This was really bizarre, I had seen very weird stuff from my work and from the internet, and there is nothing weirder than the internet. The curious side of me was really intrigued as to what this object could be, raising a hand slowly, I brought my finger just about to touch the thing. Big mistake.
As soon as I touched the light, I purple lighting shot out from it, hitting my sofa and making it catch fire. Now totally scared I started backing away from the now, possible-light-of-death as it started to get more agitated by the moment. Another shot of lighting came out from the orb and ziged past my head to strike the wall behind me, somehow making it catch fire aswell.
“The fuck is this shit?! I’m out of here.” I exclaimed in panic as I started running for the archway that leaded to the hallway, out of this madness.
Another bolt of lightning came out and hit the ground, making a beeline acroos the floor and setting it on fire as it passed. Soon it cut me off from my way out, as the fire started to spread across the room, the smoke starting to cloud my vision and making it hard to breath.
“Fuck, how am I suppose to get out of here?” I suddenly remember about an emergency fire extinguisher that I had at my kitchen. Knowing what to do now, I started running towards the kitchen entrance, my only hope of making it out of here alive in there.
But fate saw differently, another lighting burst out from the orb, heading towards me. But instead of hitting me, it wrapped around my arm like some kind of lasso. The another one came out and rapped around my neck, strangling me in the process. I could feel it pulling me, dragging me through my apartment floor towards the light orb.
“Oh no you don’t, I’m getting the hell out of here.” I started pulling against the pulling, taking a small step forward. But I then felt an electric surge go through my body, making my muscles spasm as they went mad. Once the surge stopped I tried again to move away from the orb, the glowing rope of energy strangling even more as I did so.
I felt another of the lighting ropes wrap around my leg, making me fall as I lost my footing. I hit my head against the floor hard, making my vision to go blurry. I could barely move, the hit to my head making it hard to think clearly, plus the lack of air in my lungs was proving to be a disadvantage.
Trying to look back, I saw as the orb started growing in size, expanding enough until it was big enough to fit me whole inside it, if I got inside and survived that is. I tried to struggle out from the hold, using my free hand to crawl as I was too weak from being electrocuted to use the one held by the glowing rope.
It was in vain, as I watched my foot start to sink inside the sphere of light. I felt a small tingle as I started to pass through it, I was scared of what would happen to me, but something told me that I would be fine. And now considering the burning apartment that would cook me until I was a human BBQ, I’ll take the chance to live from being taken by a giant sphere of light, that can electrocute you. I don’t know if I was being optimistic or I had just lost my mind by thinking of that statement. I’ll take the former.
As my head passed through the light, I realized that I could still see the apartment, even if the view was a bit tinted by pink. Looking at what my home used to be, I watched as the fire extended around, now sealing the way through the kitchen as the flame ate the wood structures. Now I was glad I didn’t run to the kitchen, I doubt I could have escaped in time if I had.
The wind around me started to pick up, swirling around me as it pushed my blonde hair around it. There were small bolts of lightning coming from the floor and the inside of the orb itself, each one hitting me and making energy surge through my body, making my muscles spasm in confusion from the electricity.
The light around me intensified, making it hard for me to see around me or at my own hands. It continued increasing until there was nothing but the blinding light, and then, blackness.

Equestria, The griffin Kingdom
17 of April, 1038 A.L.B., 7:32 P.M.
“\Repeat to me again, just what exactly are you doing Twilight?\” Rainbow Dash said as she rubbed her head, trying to rap her head around her friends explanation.
“\Like I said before, by altering the flow pattern of the ambient ley lines, I can connect two parts of the same entity to bring them into one location, allowing me to transfer a living being from anywhere in the world to the area where I cast the spell.\” She responded back without taking her eyes on her work, making sure every aspect and set up for the spell was perfect.
“\Sugarcube, Ah think she is askin’ for ye to say it in normal words.\” Her friend applejack said as she was also trying to understand what her friend meant. “\Or equestrian, to put it simply.\”
Twilight momentarily took a look to her friends, seeing all of their confused expressions. “\Oh sorry girls, I tend to overanalyze things when I’m focused on something.\” She turn around again, going back to setting up the required symbols and gear that was needed. “\Anyways, what I’m saying is that by using this spell I can transport somepony from anywhere, as long as I have a large enough piece of their persona.\” she stopped there, looking at the nearly complete preparations.
“\Well, I gotta say darling. That spell will prove quite useful in the future if we need a quick retreat.\”
“\It’s not that simple Rarity, The spell itself needs a specific set up to work, and it only works for one pony at the time. Plus it drains a lot of the caster’s magic when its used.\” Twilight said to her friend, just finishing the last piece of the pentagram.
“\So how does it work Twilight? do you send an invitation to the pony and if they accept they get teleported?\” The pink mare was jumping around, excited like a little girl on a candy store.
“\No Pinkie, this spell will form a connection with whoever I have a sample from. The spell normally would work like any other teleportation spell, but because I’m trying to force another person to get transported her, I’m gonna have to physically drag him to where the spell will take place.\”
“\Wait, I though you just said that this would teleport the flankhole here without a problem, now you’re saying that you need to kick his flank? Not that I’m complaining though.\” Rainbow said as a small smirk appeared on her face.
“\I never said that I could teleport him that easy, just that I may be able to. Because of this, I need to weaken him first, knowing him, he will try to break free the instant he knows he is being attacked.\”
reaching for a pouch in her vest, ahe took out a vial with a forelock of blonde hair. “\I only got enough for one spell. So we need to make this count, for all Equestria.\” She looked back, spotting a lone yellow pegasus resting by a wall, looking at a small locket. “\Shy, you ok?\”
She immediately closed the locket in her hoof, putting it away in her mane as she turn around to face her friends. “\I’ll be fine, I just need to time to take it in.\” She tried to give a small smile, trying not to worry her friends.
“\Ok then, all is set and ready to go. Remember, once he is through you need to put the magik drain cuffs. We cannot take any chances with him.\” She waited for all of her friend to acknowledge her, before going to the centre of the pentagram. Opening the vial and placing the hair in the middle she walked back to the edge of the pentagram.
She took a deep breath, preparing herself for what she knew was one of her most complicated spells. “\alright, here goes.\” Her horn started glowing, the traced lines on the floor glowing with the same shine as her horn.
The purple lines raced across the floor, reaching the middle in seconds. The magic starte to reach out towards the blonde hair in the middle, upon contact the hair caught in purple fire, but it didn’t burn away, rather it just remained the same, before starting to rise off the ground.
The flame started to shrink down, wrapping around the hair like a dressing cloak, enveloping in its radiance and warmth. it kept on shrink until it was nearly the size of an apple, where it remained motionless floating in the air.
\”Ok, now to make the connection.”/ She closed her eyes in concentration, following the ley lines in here head as she went to connect the two parts of the same being. She could see as the lines traveled across with great speed, she couldn’t see the world around her, but she could feel as she passed through the land.
\”This is incredible, I can feel everything around me, yet I can’t see them. It’s so facinating, I gotta-”* She was cut abruptly as her mind hit some kind of mental wall, cutting her connection with the spell for a moment, but managed to reconnect with it before it could fade away. *”\What was that? I’m sure I was following the spell’s calculations to the letter. I better make this quick in case it happens again.\”
She concentrated back to the task at hoof, trying to make the connection with her target. She started analysing what was supposedly around her, as she lacked the ability to see in this state. she could feel the presence of the Dark Lord near her, but for some reason she couldn’t place him at all.”\The coward must be hiding his aura, I guess he felt the spell magic before it reached him, that would explain the little mental bump back there.\”
She froze as she felt something press against the back of her mind, analysing what this was, she discovered the presence of her target right behind her mental vision. ”\I got you now.\” She smirked as he mentally turned around and launched a binding spell, in the hopes to trap him and teleport him before he could try and escape.
Her magic shot out but only felt it smash against some surface that was around, now she was worried, seeing as she may lose the chance to finally capture this monster and bring it to justice. ”\Come on Twilight, think, how can you find him if he is hiding his aura from you?\” She ran the question in her head, trying to formulate a plan to help her out.
She quickly came up with a solution. “\I felt his presence before, if I can trace it down then maybe I can see him in this darkness.\” Now with a new plan on her head, she quickly started recalling the brief moment when she felt his presence, shuffling in her mind as she tried to find that needed mental note.
She saw in front of her a small spot of gray light, that quickly vanished from her view. ”\There.\” casting another binding spell in the general direction of where the speck of light appeared. Once again, her spell hit another surface in the room, making her now grunt annoyance.
Concentrating again, she managed to see the gray speck again, this time moving at a constant speed in one direction. Taking this as an act of fleeing, she cast another binding spell towards where she hoped she would meet the individual, dragging the spell in case he may try to avoid it by going under it.
Again she failed to hit her target, groan in frustration at her lack of success on what was suppose to be an easy task. She put every ounce of mind power and concentrated on that aura that belonged to her enemy. She started seeing the image, this time it made a rough shape of a human, which seemed to be running away from her. ”\I won’t lose you this time.\”
Twilight, determined to ending this launched two binding spells, making her chances even higher on completing the task. and luck was on her favour this time, as both spell hit and wrapped around her target, and judging from the movement and the position of where the spells were, she had caught one of the arms and the neck.
”\Now to reel you in.\” Twilight thought as she started pulling the magic ropes towards where she mentally was. But her target wasn’t gonna go down too easy, as she started feeling the rope being pulled the opposite way with even more strength that she had. Seeing this as a complication, she decided to give her little catch something to wear him down.
Focusing her magic through the ropes, she sent a surge of lighting energy, not enough to kill someone, but enough to make them live in a world of hurt. seeing as the ropes started to twitch like crazy in result of the human spasming around, she sent another of her binding spells, this time wrapping it around where the leg was, making the human fall to the spectral ground.
”\Well this is easier than I thought, but I shoudn’t get ahead of myself until I actually have teleport him to where we are.\” Reeling the body across the floor, she started to prepare the final step of completing the spell. ”\ok twilight, you can do this. It may put you in agony, but it’s worth it.\” When she was sure that her prize was inside the parametres for the teleportation spell, she started casting the final piece required to take the Dark Lord to them.
She focused on all the mathematical and arcane equations that were needed for the spell to work, one slip up and she could end up teleporting herself to Canterlot, transport the Dark Lord to some other location, or even switch minds between her and the human. She shudder at the though, not liking the idea of being on the horseshoes of somepony else, least of all her sworn enemy.
When the spell was near complete a though cross her mind, what if the Dark Lord tried and attack them as soon as she finished the spell. She would be too weak to try and hold the human in place and her friends may not react fast enough to deal with the threat. But she could maybe cast another of her lighting spells, the only problem was that it would affect her too at this stage in the spell.
Weighing her options, she decided to risk her own life over the other’s. concentrating on making a second spell, she focused on calling forth a lightning spell that would affect the area around her. As expected, she felt as shocking energy started to hit her multiple times, making her want to just scream in pain and just fall down to the ground.
But she kept going, determined to seeing this through. Clenching her teeth, she pour more magic into finishing the spell, while still keeping the lightning spell up. She could start feeling as her mind started to travel again, the darkness from before and the ley lines appearing again as her mind returned back to her body.
What she wasn’t prepared for, was for her brain to suffer from the wildest, and most violent migrane in her life. The pain she was feeling was so great that saying it was torture would be an understatement, with her brain now in a state of pure agonising pain, she fell to the inviting floor. But was stopped when a pair of yellow hoof caught her in mid fall, stopping her face from meeting the floor.
“\Twilight! Are you ok? say something!\” She could barely hear the voice of Fluttershy, as it was like she was talking even lowered than a whisper. Looking from the corner of her eye, she managed to see the shape of a cuffed human laying on the ground unmoving, it’s blonde hair all spiky from being electrocuted. At this, she let herself smile, knowing that their plan had worked. Before darkness overtook her, sending her into unconsciousness.
