//-------------------------------------------------------// Unexperienced Impact -by EstuimRising- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue The sun was shining and the songbirds sung sweet, beautiful songs, but this was the norm for a morning in Ponyville. A loud thud woke a peaceful Twilight from her slumber. She thought something was off as she opened her eyes, her vision still blurred. As her vision became clearer, she began to realize the thud was not from a bird hitting the window or somepony banging on her door, as originally thought. She had rolled out of bed, which left her back feeling sore. "Spike, you will never believe of the dream I had last night!" Twilight exclaimed, turning towards Spike's bed. As she turned however, she noticed that Spike was not there. "Spike!" Twilight called out as she walked down the stairs, groggily. "I'm right here, Twilight. No need to yell at the top of your lungs at this hour," Spike replied, already up and was busy replacing some books on the shelves. "Well sorry, I was just scared I had lost you. Especially after the weird dream I had last night." "What was in that dream, that caused you think something bad happened to me last night?" Spike replied. He knew that Twilight always seems to blow things out of proportion, especially this early in the morning. She is just probably getting used to the stress of being a princess, he thought. "Well, I was walking with Princess Celestia and she said she was going to teach me everything I needed to know about being a princess. I was intrigued and she could tell from my face. Just as she was about to speak, she just vanished. I have never had dreams like this before, Spike." "That was it?" Spike asked, as he climbed down from the top shelf. "What do you mean just, THAT WAS IT?!" Twilight screamed at the top of her lungs. Spike braced himself in case Twilight started swinging her hooves. "Well, nothing really seems off about the dream," he replied still waiting for a fury of hooves to come against his body. "Well," Twilight replied starting to realize Spike's point, "it's just that Princess Celestia has always been like a mentor and a hero to me for my whole life. I just don't know what I would do without her." At this point, even the thought of losing her mentor, Twilight was about to break down in tears. "Spike, I don't know why I just snapped, but I just am confused right now. My new life as a princess isn't helping either." Spike saw his best friend was on the verge of tears and he had noticed the last couple of days, Twilight was not acting herself. Spike mind was racing as he thought of a way to take her of the thought of Princess Celestia. "Hey, don't you have a party at Sugarcube Corner for Rarity's birthday?" Spike said. "Oh, that's right. Thanks for reminding me Spike, " Twilight said happily. She quickly ran over to her calendar checking all of the details over again. "What time is Spike?" Spike quickly ran to the kitchen, as it was the only place with a view of the clock tower. "It's about.... 10:50." "10:50! The party starts in 25 minutes. I really hope they're not mad with me if I'm late," Twilight said as she walked down the final flights of stairs to the ground floor. "If you really need an excuse, just say you had some princess duties to do. You are a princess now, remember?" "Yeah, but it doesn't mean I can just make up excuses every time something goes wrong. I'm better than that, Spike." "I know but, sometimes you have to take risks sometime. Have some excitement in your life." "Yeah, sure as if I don't have enough already." Twilight said as she shut the door behind her. Spike sat on the stairs and he wondered if Twilight was overreacting or maybe she wasn't. She's Twilight though, and she gets up over anything. I haven't seen this nervous before though. I should keep an eye out for anymore trouble with her, though. Just as Spike finished thinking about Twilight, he felt a letter being sent by Celestia. The letter came out in a puff smoke, but Spike was used to the process even to the point in which he wouldn't feel nauseous anymore. Spike quickly picked up the letter and thought, if this letter is for Twilight, I am not running after her, after she just left. Spike opened the letter and sighed when he see the words, My Dearest Twilight, written at the top of the page. "Let's see here," Spike said hoping that this just a dud and he wouldn't have to go chase down Twilight. "Your presence is requested for an urgent meeting with you. I want to discuss with you everything I know about anything you want." Spike unconscionably read aloud. Spike wondered why Celestia had sent Twilight home and then to sent this letter only a few days later, but he just shrugged it off as her method of adjustment. "Well, looks like I have to go get Twilight," Spike miserably said as he trudged down the stairs. This will probably get Twilight off my hands for a couple off days, so maybe this isn't a bad thing. As Spike walked out of the house, he regretted yelling at Twilight earlier. He realized that Twilight losing Celestia was like him losing Twilight and for sure as hell didn't want that. When he finally reached Sugarcube Corner, the party was in full swing. Pinkie was dancing as was Fluttershy, the music cooming from an old record player. Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash, however were sitting by the refreshments with Rarity boasting on a new line of dresses she had created. Twilight was nowhere to found though. Spike ran up to the group and Rarity was the first acknowledge him. "Oh, hello. How is my little Spikey Wikey doing?" She asked almost in a sappy tone. She saw the roll of parchment cluched in his hands, the royal seal still attached, even though it was broken. "Oh, I know exactly who you are looking for it's Twilight isn't it. She went outside just before you got here," She pointed to a back door. "Thanks, Rarity," Spike replied almost blushing. He quickly exited the party and found Twilight in the alley. He gave her the parchment and quickly slipped back inside the party. Not to in sue her wraith again. Twilight noticed the parchment after Spike had left. She didn't even notice Spike come out there, as she was focused on thinking about her new life as a princess. She began to read the parchment only to almost lose it when Celestia invited her to a private meeting. She quickly composed herself and re-entered the party. "I am sorry to announce that I must leave to attend royal duties in Canterlot," she announced to her friends. She began to exit the room when Applejack stopped her. "You thinking about going to Canterlot without us well then you are surely mistaken," Applejack stated. Twilight had forgotten all about her friends. She turned around,"How could of forgotten about you guys? Your my friends and you help me get this far so why would not come with me." Twilight and her friends quickly went to the train station, but they did not know that the rest of the day would not run so smoothly. Author's Note I hope you enjoyed this beginning part to this fic.
