Her eyes dart back and forth. Her breathing is short. She is so busy concentrating on being stealthy that she fails to notice the small rock in her path sticking up from the ground. She trips and falls flat on her face. Quickly she gets up, hoping that, by some miracle of Celestia, nopony noticed. But all the ponies in the street turn to look at her, and she felt the sudden urge to gallop away. Before she could, another pony galloped up and said, "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She just looked at the new pony with a look of horror, like a trapped animal. Was she going to say mean things? Make fun of her for tripping? Make everypony laugh at her? The new pony looks at her for a moment, and then tries to hide her face behind her wing. Gently, the other pony pries her wing off her face and smooths her ruffled feathers. She smiled at the new pony, tried to make eye contact. "Hey, it's alright. No harm done! What's your name, new pony?" He voice is bubbly, kind. It breaks a little of the protective shell around the pony's heart. The new pony tries to speak, stumbling over her words. She winces, thinking how these ponies must think she's incredibly stupid for sounding this way. "Hey," said the other. "It's okay. My name is Fillyshy. What's yours?" The new pony took a breath and looked up at Fillyshy. "H-H-Hey, my name is S-Shy." "There, progress!" Fillyshy giggled to herself. She's really trying to make me smile. I... I hope she's not hiding something. Shy tried and failed to maintain eye contact. She looked at he ground, poked at it. She looks up again at Fillyshy, who is looking at her expectantly. Say something, stupid! "You're very cute, Fillyshy," she mumbled. Fillyshy smiles with delight at the complement. "Thanks Shy! I know I'm cute. I'm the cutest pony in all of Ponyville". The corners of Shy's mouth pick up slightly at that adorable remark. She really is cute. "Um... I don't really have a place to stay or anything..." A gasp comes from Fillyshy's mouth. "Omigosh! You need a house!" "I was actually thinking of--" Before she can get another word out, Fillyshy grabs Shy by the hoof and pulls her through town to the main square. Town Hall sits in the center, colorful flags flapping in the mid-afternoon breeze. Like a whirlwind, Shy is dragged up the stairs and into the main hall. In the center, talking to two merchants, was a gray pony with a scroll on her flank. She appears to be somepony of importance. Fillyshy trots up to her, leaving Shy to stand next to the wall and try not to make eye contact. As she counts the rings in the knot on the floorboard for the third time, she hears Fillyshy say, "You're in luck! There's a place to stay Shy tells Fillyshy that she needs a place to stay, so Fillyshy leads Shy to the mayor and asks how much a house would cost. Fillyshy looks back, seeing Shy hiding. Fillyshy walks over to her and asks her what's wrong. Shy looks up to see Fillyshy, but doesn't answer, shaking in fear. Fillyshy hugs her and tells her that it's okay. Shy is surprised. No pony would stop to give another pony a hug in her old town. Shy stands up and hugs back with a smile. They walk to the mayor, and are informed that a house is open for 50 bits. Shy is happy, but only has 40 bits. She frowns, but Fillyshy openly offers 10 bits with a smile. Shy looks at Fillyshy, saying that she couldn't take her money. "Please, Shy, it's the least I can do to help my new friend." Shy's eyes widen. She is speechless. "F-F-F-F-Friend..." Stutters Shy. Fillyshy looks at her. "Yes, silly! Friends!" Shy smiles at the thought. She was surprised that she had made a friend at all. She had thought Fillyshy was doing this only to mess with her. Shy gets sad that she'd judged Fillyshy like that, but quickly hides it and pays the mayor for the house. "Hey, Shy. Let's head over to your new house," Fillyshy says. Shy looks at Fillyshy. "Okay!" So the two ponies trot out to the new house. "So, Shy, where are you from?" Shy looks at Filly and gets sad. She says that her old town was bad and wasn't as friendly as this town. Fillyshy hugs Shy. "It's okay. You're here now. Be happy!" Shy smiles as they reach the house. Shy is happy that she had made a new friend. She hugs Fillyshy and starts to weep of tears of joy. "Shy, are you okay?" Fillyshy asks with concern in her voice. Shy looks at Fillyshy and says yes, wiping the tears away and smiling. As the sun goes down, Shy looks at Fillyshy and says bye and goodnight. Fillyshy gets sad and turns to walk off but Shy stops her, and offers her to come in. Fillyshy walks in and Shy gets nervous. She sees that the house is already furnished, and is puzzled. Fillyshy says that they lease houses like this so that residents already have everything they need. Shy smiles and goes to get some water. She comes back and offers the glass to Fillyshy. "Thanks!" Fillyshy smiles and takes the water. Shy yawns, and Fillyshy asks if she is tired. Shy nods, saying that she'd had a long day, making a pallet for Fillyshy to sleep on before going upstairs. "Night, Fillyshy." Fillyshy looks at Shy and says goodnight, and the two ponies go to bed. Shy doesn't sleep easy that night. She tears up as her eyes glow dark, fearing that the pain and sadness in her heart could rush forth at any moment... chapter 2: the townThe next morning, Shy awakens to find that Fillyshy is still asleep, so she decides to make some breakfast for them both. She decides to make a simple breakfast, and starts to gather what she needs. Suddenly, a exclemation of excitement rings out from behind her. Shy jumps into the air, startled. "Hey, Shy!" Shy turns, seeing Fillyshy in the doorway. Reassured, Shy resumes her cooking. "Hey, Fillyshy. What's your favorite drink?" Shy asked, taking a glass from the cupboard. "Chocolate milk! I just love chocolate milk!" Fillyshy bursts out. Smiling, Shy pours the drink, and hands it to Fillyshy. Fillyshy quickly takes the glass, drinks it down, and rolls around on the floor with glee. Shy smiles, feeling wonderful for making her friend happy. She finishes cooking and serves the food, along with another big glass of chocolate milk for Fillyshy. After breakfast, the two ponies head into town looking for something to do. Fillyshy bounds down the path alongside Shy, who is still uneasy around others. They reach a clearing, and Shy sighs in releif. She had avoided bringing attention to herself. That is, until she bumps into a pony that she hadn't seen coming. Mortified, Shy feels as though she could melt into a puddle at any moment. The pony, a stallion, looks at Shy and smiles. He introduces himself as Brave Charger. Shy backs up behind Fillyshy, nervous and unsure. Fillyshy takes a step toward the stallion. "What's up, Brave?" Fillyshy says happily. "Hey, Filly. I'm doing alright. Who's this?" Brave asks, looking at Shy. Shy slowly looks toward Brave, trying mutter her name loud enough for him to hear. Failing to do so, she retreats behind Fillyshy, hiding in her mane. "That's my friend Shy! She's new here!" Filly says cheerfully. Shy, overcoming some portion of her fear, looks up at Brave and manages a quiet "Hey." "Hello, Shy. I'm sorry if I scared you," Brave says apologetically. Shy, gathering her courage, says "Oh, you didn't scare me... I-I-I'm just nervous around other ponies."” Brave nods thoughtfully, remembering his own experience being new in Ponyville. He gives Shy a quick hug to make her feel better. Shy feels somewhat less shakey, but still hides her face from passing ponies. The three ponies make their way to the lake, and rest by it's gleaming edge. Shy begins singing a lullaby. As she sings, Fillyshy becomes sleepy and yawns, politely asking Shy to stop singing. Shy does so with a small smile. Brave, a short distance away, looks at the other two, trying to come up with a way to become friends with Shy without intimidating her. Shy noticing the daydreaming stallion, walks over to him and asks if he is alright. "Oh, yeah," he said, snapping back to reality. "I'm just thinking." Shy smiles, staring out over the lake as the sun's rays glint off the sparkling water. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Brave says, looking fondly over the scene. Shy looks toward him, nodding in agreement. Fillyshy suddenly jumps into the lake cannon-ball style, splashing the others. Shy laughs as she and Brave dive in with her. After playing a while, they noticed some other ponies walking toward the lake. Shy gets out and hides in some bushes nearby, not wanting to draw attention to herself, but feels lonely without her friends. Fillyshy, noticing Shy's discomfort, gets out of the water and walks over to Shy, giving her a hug. Brave joins in soon afterward, but the hug does little to ease Shy. They decide to go into town to get some lunch, and Shy starts to relax, feeling more comfortable around Brave. Chapter 3: The lakeThe three ponies hit town shortly after their swim, and find a resturaunt to have lunch at. Brave gives their orders to the waiter, and proceeds to pay the bill for all three of them. "You didn't have to do that," says Shy. "Yes I did. It's called being a gentleman," Brave responds with a smile. Shy blushes, as she'd never seen, let alone met, a stallion who'd do anything like that for a mare before. Fillyshy jumps up with glee, taking her food and finding a table for them to sit at. Shy takes a moment to look upon the town, noticing a distinct lack of ill-will among the crowd of ponies. She finds Ponyville to be much more acceptable then her former residence, Detrot. Detrot had many problems, including several underground crime syndicates, and the danger of walking around in broad daylight made everything more complicated. The feelings sweep through her so suddenly that she can't hold them all in, and she starts to weep. She leaps to her feet and runs home, and Fillyshy looks up just in time to see her dash off. "Shy!" both she and Brave call after her. Shy doesn't hear them, so they follow her home. They reach the house, but find that the door is locked. Fillyshy knocks on the door, and gets no response in return. She flies up to Shy's bedroom window, and sees her crying on her bed. Fillyshy knocks, and Shy sees her and opens the window. As Fillyshy flies in, Shy goes downstairs and lets brave in as well. Her cheeks still have tear trails on them, and Brave and Fillyshy ask her what the matter is. Shy flops down on her bed, hiding her face in a pillow, and begins sobbing again. Fillyshy sits on the bed and hugs her, motioning for Brave to do the same. Shy slowly gets up, and goes downstairs to get a glass of water. As she walks back, she drinks her water, thinking to herself. Should she tell them about Detrot? She sighs, and walks back upstairs. Fillyshy gets up and hugs her. "What's wrong, Shy?" Brave asks, concern in his voice, "Is it us, or did something happen?" "No, it's not you," Shy says quietly, "Just memories..." "What memories, Shy?" asks Fillyshy. Shy looks at them both, sits down on the bed, and describes the town that she'd come from. She explained that her town was full of contempt, and nopony trusted anyone which made doing anything difficult, unlike Ponyville where everyone made an effort to be friendly to one another. "Shy, it's ok," Brave says reassuringly, hugging Shy, "If something is bothering you that bad, then you can tell us." Shy smiles, even as the tears trickle down her face. "I'll be alright, Brave. Nopony wanted me around in Detrot. They all thought I was to kind. I'm glad I have you two." Brave looks at Shy in surprise. A pony hating another pony for being kind? Now that was odd. Shy takes a deep breath, and continues describing Detrot. Chapter 4: DetrotShy opens the door, just wide enough to survey the area, and slowly steps out of her house. Would she get hurt today? Or maybe somepony (or something, for that matter)would decide to help themselves to whatever her small house had to offer. Same old day for Shy. It seemed that she was the only one who cared about anypony, but that didn't make much difference. Shy comes accross a group of ponies, and tries to avoid bringing attention to herself. Her efforts are in vain, though, as a rock comes sailing through the air at her. It hits it's target, making Shy wince. She puts her hoof to her head, and brings it down to look, seeing a spot of blood. The group starts chanting, "Pushover! Pushover!" but Shy ignores them and continues walking. One of the ponies, seeing her lack of reaction, gets frustrated and throws a punch. There's an obvious 'thud' as his hoof connects with her face, knocking her to the ground. Shy tears up, the pain becoming too much to ignore. The other ponies crowd her, and she curls up to protect herself as the other ponies take turns kicking her. The group quickly gets bored, seeing that she won't fight back, and leaves. Shy stands up, shakily, and walks back to her house. She locks the door, and falls on to her bed, crying. She looks out the window, at other ponies brawling in the street, yelling at each other, and just generally acting nasty. She goes to the kitchen, and gets a glass of water. She sits, thinking about her future, and hears someone else getting beaten up outside. She stops, knowing that if she tried to go help that she would also get hurt. Would it matter if she just locked herself in her house, and went out only for nececities? Going against her better judgment, she goes outside to help the battered pony. "Are you okay, sir?" Shy asks tentatively. The pony looks up at her, and stands up slowly. "Yes, I think." Shy smiles, helping the pony up, but is confused. She'd never seen another innocent pony in this town. "Thanks," he says quickly, and gallops off. As she turns back, she sees a group of ponies looking at her menecingly. Shy makes a run for it, but they grab her and pin her down. They beat her relentlesly, angry that she had helped the other pony, and her screams of pain just goaded them on. They quit, after a while, satisfied with their work. Shy, using a nearby wall for support, stands up, coughing blood. Her tears hit the ground as she walks home, stumbling along the way. Suddenly, an acrid scent hits her nose. "Wait, that smells like..." Shy wastes no time, going as fast as she can. As she rounds the bend, she sees it. Her house, burning to the ground, the smoke thickening as a group of ponies flee the scene. That was the last straw, "I need to get out of here," she says resolutely. She looks up, seeing the smoke and ash rising to the sky, and then turns, walking toward the town limits, not a care in the world where she went so long as she could get away from the hatred and misery that had become her life. As Shy nears the edge of town, she looks back one final time, wondering how the other pony would fare without her. "Good bye, Detrot," she mutters to herself, and walks on. As she nears the forest, Shy hears... whispering. She stands still, trying to make it out. "Hello? Who's there?" The voice, clearer this time, replys,"My name is Nightmare Moon. I have felt your pain. You don't have to worry anymore. I am here for you." Chapter 6: The attackAfter the party was over they started to walk home they was all happy and good nothing could interrupted this moment. Off in the distance eyes are watching them closely and then a howl comes out as the figure runs out after them. Shy freezes when she hears it looking around like last time. Brave looks around “great Timberwolves just what we need fillyshy jumps to her new sister to help her “hey sis you okay” shy nods and shakes out of it the run off to get away. When they reach the end of the woods they stop to look back to se if they were still being chased they see the wolfs coming up fast. Brave rears back and bucks the wolf the timber wolf falls apart they run off to the town to get safe. Shy starts to pant as they realized she as been cut badly so they rush her to the hospital knowing that she tried to fly off when it happen the wolf grabbed her and slammed her so she could have a broken wing. When they get to the hospital the doctors rush shy in its been hrs but then she timidly walks out wing is in a cast and as bandaged up. Brave and fillyshy runs to her bluestar walks up to her asking if she fine even though she has been though much she does that kind warm friendly smiles she does to assures them that’s she is fine. Brave walks over to her knowing she isn’t fine but stops thinking that this would be best for her to talk when she is ready. As they walk out one of the nurses run up to them trying to explain fully that shy should take it easy “umm hey am shamrock and well shy should rest and take things slow” brave, filly and blue look up agreeing to what the nurse said. Shy looks away trying when the pain shows on her face filly notices though and hugs her to comfort her shamrock quickly runs out taking the nurse uniform off in a hurry saying she’s late. The four ponies look in confusion but doesn’t pay it much attention and walk off going to shy’s house so shy could rest she really needs it right now as shy walks they stay close to her so if she faints or collapses on the ground they could catch her quickly. They get down the road when shy starts to fell weak under her legs brave and blue rush to hold her up straight as filly talks to her so her mind won’t focus on the pain she is in right now. They reach the house and help her to her bed so she can relax and rest as they lay her down brave couldn’t help it its been bothering him all day about detrot and way is that place like that. “ummm shy can you explain to us way detrot is like how it is because I have never heard of a town that violent” shy looks up as she knows what happen to that city how it was a great city but know only full of hate and despair. Shy looks up as she going to talk but stops as she tears up from the stories she was told by some of the older ponies. She sighs and says that the town was a kind hearted town once she stops to look out the window to try and gather her thoughts all in one. She looks around to make sure she sees every pony even blue is interested in this story to hear what happen to a city that when u look the grass is yellow, buildings has holes in them, the water is green, people hate and just tries to make it were kindness is not around them, the sky has a gloomy look to it and no birds there or anything just a dark place. Shy starts to pace her breath and mumbles it but stops knowing she saying it in a low tone. Blue starts to get impatient wanting to know what happen and starts to show it by having an annoyed look on his face from shy not telling at all. Filly hugs blue to calm him down then suddenly shy stares up nervously knowing that there attention is on her but she takes a deep breath and gulps and starts it of in a calm voice. Everypony in the room now attentive and listening even filly who usually is fidgety is still looking and listening to her new sis and not breaking focus at all. Brave sits down to listen to what shy has to say and is in deep thought of how this well go trying to figure it out but is stopped by thoughts as shy begins to talk about it. Chapter 7: The fall of detrotIn detrot everypony was cleaning helping and just so happy they had there hard times but celestia always came through for them no matter what happen. The day started as usual no pony seemed to know what was going to happen but they didn’t care like they always said friendship is magic. They loved to make new friends and have tours around there city but today no one came they didn’t care they could just relax and have a blast. Then they noticed that it was wired but they had nothing they could do but then royal guards come rushing in fast flying every were landing as they say that the city is under there over see that this city has a plan to kill the princesses. At this the ponies try to reason saying they love celestia and Luna but no prevail the guards put most of them in handcuffs questioning them trying to find out there plans. The ponies were scared has celestia betrayed them the one who was the sweetest and kindness of all betrayed them how could she at this thought the ponies begin to get hatred in there hearts trying to fight back. Celestia at the castle trying to figure out what going on were had her guards go in a hurry. Back there the royal captain looks at them saying that they had better tell the ponies flied to hide scared. The thought grew and grew when they can’t believe this why them what did they do wrong to make the princess do this when the guards left they said they would be back the ponies hated the princess now and hated her teachings of kindness and anything remotely to that. When the princess figured out what happened it was too late as the guards just terrorized that city with information that was false she sighed knowing she has to do something her subjects were upset. When the princess showed up saying that this was not suppose to happen the citizens yelled at her telling her to leave that they didn’t need her. She tried to reason with them that they could do a friendship report of how they could get past this when she said that the ponies got more pissed “a friendship report really” a pony yelled out Luna showed up to comfort her sister as they watched this city become hatred to the core and from there on they never liked kindness at all and anypony who had kindness in there heart they hated from there on and didn’t care what would happen or cared if they hurt the pony who was kind and that they would break celestia teachings and show that kindness is a lie to all that only this would be just in there own twisted way. Shy stopped right there as she was tearing up from the thought and brave was mad saying that they shouldn’t be like that over that that they are just spoiled and was never loyal at all just to betray the morals like that. Shy looked up and said there more then she begin again from were they started to hate but wasn’t that bad but as the years grew and there city just kept falling into darkness and that as each new generation came it got worse and worse to were they started to bet the crap out of each other and anyone who dared to be kind. Filly jumped up at this saying how come you are so sweet and kind shy smiled and started to say how she felt bad for them and was always kind by heat and didn’t care how people treated her but in that city it was like a crime to be nice or kind . Brave hugged her saying you’re here now and then she said that the kids had more hatred for that there parents had gone though and hated anything that the princess said they would go against to were one time they broke away from Equestria just so they wouldn’t. At that thought they didn’t knowing the royal guards and the crystal empire would send troops to help and they would end up losing so they stayed but still go against everything. Shy stopped and said she feels bad for them but she had to leave and that she couldn’t take that anymore brave hugged her saying its okay you’re here with friends who care just know we are here for you no matter what. Chapter 9: So there trueAfter the commotion had died a little both royal sisters responded. Luna seemed concerned and asked "were is she, i can reason with her" for some reason Luna cared deeply. Maybe because she could relate to the situation. Celestia seemed more worried for the other pony whose name was fillyshy. She was hoping nothing bad would happened then Twilight spoke out "so...what's the plan, she has the elements" celestia sighed at this and only said " there not much we can do besides me and Luna with Cadence go and stop her, with the alicorn magic we might stand a chance without the elements." spike seemed the most scared but he acted brave as fluttershy was hiding and shivering. it was time for the sun to rise but the moon refused to move and didn't listen to Luna command. This was bad. Nightmare moon or also now nightmare shy was planing her attack. with the elements out of the way she could get going on taking over Equestria over much more easily. she started to use the old castle as a base of operation and decided to try get followers that would follow her cause but first, fillyshy must pay. fillyshy was on her way to a new town, a new life, and a new beginning as suddenly nightmare moon appeared and struck her. blood ran down her mouth as she shivered in pain and trembled in fear. she could try reasoning with her. it was still her sister right, so she asked "shy please forgive me" she asked but was cut off with a sharp piercing shot to her left lung. she gasped in pain as she now struggling to breath. nightmare moon laughed at the shivering scares pony and filly begged as a swift kick to her gut was made. she screamed in pain as she spat out blood. her eye sight started to blur up. she felt weak as another powerful hit was made. she screamed in pain. finally another shot was made to her right lung. now she was suffocating slowly dying. within 10 minutes she could barely see as nightmare used her horn piercing her heart and then smashing in her skull. the crimson blood ran down as laughter was breaking the silence. fillyshy now was dead and she started to walk over as shy heart grew darker. news hit that there was a murder and it was a gruesome scene. It made royal guards sick to there stomach as they had to move the body. Celestia heart broke at the news. brave and the others felt a sudden ocean of depression. it it brave the hardiest has he was friends with filly the longest. his rage built up "were going to kill her and end this horrible chapter." he was in tears as he started to shake. Bluestar hugged him as the main six was now all suddenly realizing how violent nightmare moon was and what actions she was willing to go to. Luna felt guilty for being unable to save the mare that lost her life. the memories they shared was heart breaking. there was a funeral that was taking place. it seemed it hit pinkie pie hard. apparently she was in a serious relationship with Fillyshy. her hair was flat and she didn't want to party her spirit was crushed. she just lost her loved one. all the times they spent together talking, making cakes, planing parties, sleeping together. she felt like her heart had just dropped drastically and after the funeral she left and locked herself away in her own room. it seemed laughter was destroyed and the other main six felt hurt by pinkie pain. how could this happened. The news hit the towns the return of nightmare moon. panic was rushing over the lands. Rumors was true and everypony was scared of what was going to happen. royal guards was doubled the castle was under defense and everyone knew that it wasn't a rumor anymore. it was all true. and she was back with vengeance. Chapter 10: Fear/Master planThe ponies of equstria was scared, all the rumors was true, speculations was all the talk, the sun hasn’t come up as the land is covered in darkness. Luna herself is unsure what to do this was troubling. Pinkie was missing, the main six was split and shy new friends was mad, extremely angry. All this was going great like a master plan that Nightmare moon has planned. She made the old royal castle her base of operation. She needed to raise an army to fight for her, this was huge as she could go about this differently, but she was going to use this war as a distraction. Celestia was trying to figure this all out, how would this end. Twilight was stressed with pinkie missing, rainbow wanting to go to war, applejack scared for her sister as with rarity the same, and fluttershy trying to avoid war. All this was tearing bonds apart if not testing them. Luna felt useless, she could not command the moon and she need to find a way to connect with this mare who desperately needs the help, before she falls to Nightmare moon grasp. All this was sudden, how did she hide for so long and what about this mare, shy, why her? Shy has been the outcast but how well this affect the outcome. Shy wanted to be kind but her eyes now dark, and her heart dark its failure for her. Everything she does failure, and fillyshy leaving was the last straw as she just gave in. but this was new, power, comfort or an illusion., but whatever it was she did not feel alone, scared, or helpless. She was excited and as this unraveled she enjoyed it. The castle was changed no longer in ruins, and to the surprise of others, ponies went to join the Nightmare forces this was boiling up. Cold winter fast approaches, as we fearfully wait, the simplest of simple creatures, bound by the laws of fate, as we shivered in the gutters, far away from home, we lost the last vestige of hope, freezing and alone. A shadow came to us in our dreams, with tales of better times, the true Princess of the Night forgave us for our crimes and as the Royal Sisters overlooked us, nocturnal we became, We bear a darker armor, and we carried a different flame A voice shouted out “You now belong to a greater good, and you answer to a higher call! You are part of the best and greatest, and there is no room for failure! You will leave behind all weakness! You are no longer a mortal! You are an indestructible Soldier of the Night!” The moonlight shines across the land, a calling they obey, the purest black of shadows rise to fight a greater fight as my brothers and sisters move as one, we Soldiers of the Night. They saw her moonlit eyes, a fury held at bay a battle waiting in the ashes, to resume another day, as they disappear into the shadows, they filled their souls with dread, and they will fight tonight to rule tomorrow, and the dark day’s lies ahead. All of this, was building so within a few nights she had her army, but held them at bay waiting, planning, and placing her pieces down one by one. Everything was going as Nightmare Moon planned, exactly the pace of the building, timing and she was not done by far, she was only just beginning are hostile takeover. And now shy had people who bowed to her and did not dare disobey, hurt, crush, or try to harm her. They was loyal as Nightmare Moon whispered in her ear. “This is true friendship, look at them, not disagreeing with you, and I’m here for you, your like my child and I shall protect thy from others.” Shy looked at them, felt safe warm and somehow happy, could this be real and what about her friends who showed her kindness and she killed…her first friend…a sister…but nightmare moon reminded her she left her, and hurt her greatly, she was not a true friend but just was using shy for personal gain. This made shy head hurt as she started to tear up, the tears streaming down her face and dropping the droplets on her hoof and in front of her hoof. She was heartbroken, filly left her, after saying she wouldn’t, so shy went to her chambers to rest as she needed it. She wanted to forget the memory of Fillyshy, as she screamed in her pillow and Nightmare Moon power making the castle shake and her soldiers scared and feeling bad for her, as now there determined to serve their new ruler. prologueLight fades in the sky as the pegasus mare trots down the path, away from the gloom of her past. Away from the hurt. The torment. The fear. Right now, fear overcomes her as she crosses the forest, the trees casting gloom as far as the eye could see. She hates being out in the deep dark woods. She'd never have ventured this far normally, but this is an exception. The life she has led thus far has been fraught with pain and sorrow, and she longs for a more quiet and peaceful existence. "Maybe I'll make some friends," she thinks to herself, "And I won't have to stay inside all the time." As she trots down the path, a hooded figure comes into view, sitting at the divergence of a fork in the path. She can't make out his face. Walking up to him, she notes that the cloak he is wearing is old, brown, worn out. The kind of thing an old unicorn wizard might wear in children's fairy tales. She walks up to him and looks under the hood. The stranger's face was striking, in that it was almost totally blank in expression. He didn't seem to take note of her presence. "Um, excuse me," she says timidly, "Sorry for disturbing you, but which way is the next town?" The stranger's eyes flick up, and his head raises ever so slightly. He regards her for several moments. She gulps. Just as she starts to back away, he points toward the left fork. The mare smiles, saying a quiet, "Thank you," and departs. As she walks, the gloom sets in more prominently. Briefly she wonders if other ponies in Ponyville are like that stallion. A sign emerges from the wan light reading, "Ponyville, 10 miles." She decides to fly until she gets close to the town. In her mind, she justifies it with a desire to avoid attracting attention to herself, despite a flying pony generally being more interesting to look at than a trotting one. She tries to avoid blaming it on a desire to keep from meeting other ponies like that one. After a few miles of gliding, she floats gently to earth and then sticks to a quick trot. Other ponies on the path, mostly merchants hauling their wares on carts. Hopefully none of them make eye contact with her. Soon, she can make out a town in the distance, and stops, suddenly feeling nervous. She stepped, one hoof after the other, until she stood at the edge of town. What if Ponyville isn't as nice as everyone says? What if everypony makes a big deal about her? "No," she tells herself determinedly. She's come too far to quit now. She takes a deep breath, and carefully walks into town Chapter 8: The dark secretIt's late at night everypony went to pinkie pie place for another party but shy wanted to be alone something was bothering her ever since that voice from when she left, what was her name she though w-what was it. All of a sudden she hear the voice nightmare moon voice "do you need me shy" shy looks around scared but filly runs up to her with bad news. "hey shy am sorry but am leaving and won't be coming back" from hearing this shy tears up in disbelive "y-y-your leaving me fillyshy w-were sisters" fillyshy looks at shy "I know but am going am sorry" "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME LIKE THIS" shy runs off crying. Fillyshy goes back to the party trying to get help she gets twilight, applejack, pinkie, fluttershy, rarity, rainbowdash, brave,bluestar, and spike to go after shy hoping she wasn't in trouble nightmare talks to shy saying that no pony cares for her or well every like her and she is the only pony that cares for shy. shy is crying her eyes glowing dark, her mane free flowing, and lightning shooting from her as she grows a horn and she starts to laughs when they find her they are struck at what they see twilight speaks out"n-n-nightmare m-moon" shy looks at them laughing "I HAVE RETURNED" when she said this she vanishes and spike trying to figure out what's happing how are they going to twilight quickly yells we got to get back to the elements.They rush back finding that the elements are missing and twilight starts to panic saying we have to aleart the princess both of them. the letter was sent all of them freaking out when dash says i though nightmare was in luna or was luna thats when twilight explain nightmare was a diffrent pony. After the comotion eveypony was scared some said it eas luna but the rumors was true nightmare is back fillyshy was worryed about her sis she all alone in there and nightmare moon is in there but brave said that nightmare was shy filly in anger exploded in a furry saying that it wasn't and they only saw what nightmare wanted them to see. Twilight tries to comfort fillyshy saying she not your sister anymore she belongs to nightmare , fillyshy in rage storms out saying she well prove them wrong. but when she runs she starts to think that could be shy and not a trick but it's looked like shy she was even crying with the pain in her eyes. that was her sister but she didn't want to accecpt that. Fillyshy finds shy yelling what have you done now shy looks at her "oh now you want to stay to late am no longer shy i am nightmare moon" fillyshy cries and says this isn't the way this wasn't her sister this wasn't what shy wanted. Shy looks at her and laughs as she bucks her sister hard, fillyshy cries and yells i hate you this only grow the pain in shy her eyes glow darker and she looks at her sayinf yes more you can't understand this really can you, fillyshy runs off saying am not coming back ever for you. Shy vanishes to the old castiel in the woods. She thinks that she well be up against the princesses and the mane 6 but no big deal to her for she well be the new ruler of equestria.
chapter 1: ponyvilleThe new pony walks timidly into town. Her eyes dart back and forth. Her breathing is short. She is so busy concentrating on being stealthy that she fails to notice the small rock in her path sticking up from the ground. She trips and falls flat on her face. Quickly she gets up, hoping that, by some miracle of Celestia, nopony noticed. But all the ponies in the street turn to look at her, and she felt the sudden urge to gallop away. Before she could, another pony galloped up and said, "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She just looked at the new pony with a look of horror, like a trapped animal. Was she going to say mean things? Make fun of her for tripping? Make everypony laugh at her? The new pony looks at her for a moment, and then tries to hide her face behind her wing. Gently, the other pony pries her wing off her face and smooths her ruffled feathers. She smiled at the new pony, tried to make eye contact. "Hey, it's alright. No harm done! What's your name, new pony?" He voice is bubbly, kind. It breaks a little of the protective shell around the pony's heart. The new pony tries to speak, stumbling over her words. She winces, thinking how these ponies must think she's incredibly stupid for sounding this way. "Hey," said the other. "It's okay. My name is Fillyshy. What's yours?" The new pony took a breath and looked up at Fillyshy. "H-H-Hey, my name is S-Shy." "There, progress!" Fillyshy giggled to herself. She's really trying to make me smile. I... I hope she's not hiding something. Shy tried and failed to maintain eye contact. She looked at he ground, poked at it. She looks up again at Fillyshy, who is looking at her expectantly. Say something, stupid! "You're very cute, Fillyshy," she mumbled. Fillyshy smiles with delight at the complement. "Thanks Shy! I know I'm cute. I'm the cutest pony in all of Ponyville". The corners of Shy's mouth pick up slightly at that adorable remark. She really is cute. "Um... I don't really have a place to stay or anything..." A gasp comes from Fillyshy's mouth. "Omigosh! You need a house!" "I was actually thinking of--" Before she can get another word out, Fillyshy grabs Shy by the hoof and pulls her through town to the main square. Town Hall sits in the center, colorful flags flapping in the mid-afternoon breeze. Like a whirlwind, Shy is dragged up the stairs and into the main hall. In the center, talking to two merchants, was a gray pony with a scroll on her flank. She appears to be somepony of importance. Fillyshy trots up to her, leaving Shy to stand next to the wall and try not to make eye contact. As she counts the rings in the knot on the floorboard for the third time, she hears Fillyshy say, "You're in luck! There's a place to stay Shy tells Fillyshy that she needs a place to stay, so Fillyshy leads Shy to the mayor and asks how much a house would cost. Fillyshy looks back, seeing Shy hiding. Fillyshy walks over to her and asks her what's wrong. Shy looks up to see Fillyshy, but doesn't answer, shaking in fear. Fillyshy hugs her and tells her that it's okay. Shy is surprised. No pony would stop to give another pony a hug in her old town. Shy stands up and hugs back with a smile. They walk to the mayor, and are informed that a house is open for 50 bits. Shy is happy, but only has 40 bits. She frowns, but Fillyshy openly offers 10 bits with a smile. Shy looks at Fillyshy, saying that she couldn't take her money. "Please, Shy, it's the least I can do to help my new friend." Shy's eyes widen. She is speechless. "F-F-F-F-Friend..." Stutters Shy. Fillyshy looks at her. "Yes, silly! Friends!" Shy smiles at the thought. She was surprised that she had made a friend at all. She had thought Fillyshy was doing this only to mess with her. Shy gets sad that she'd judged Fillyshy like that, but quickly hides it and pays the mayor for the house. "Hey, Shy. Let's head over to your new house," Fillyshy says. Shy looks at Fillyshy. "Okay!" So the two ponies trot out to the new house. "So, Shy, where are you from?" Shy looks at Filly and gets sad. She says that her old town was bad and wasn't as friendly as this town. Fillyshy hugs Shy. "It's okay. You're here now. Be happy!" Shy smiles as they reach the house. Shy is happy that she had made a new friend. She hugs Fillyshy and starts to weep of tears of joy. "Shy, are you okay?" Fillyshy asks with concern in her voice. Shy looks at Fillyshy and says yes, wiping the tears away and smiling. As the sun goes down, Shy looks at Fillyshy and says bye and goodnight. Fillyshy gets sad and turns to walk off but Shy stops her, and offers her to come in. Fillyshy walks in and Shy gets nervous. She sees that the house is already furnished, and is puzzled. Fillyshy says that they lease houses like this so that residents already have everything they need. Shy smiles and goes to get some water. She comes back and offers the glass to Fillyshy. "Thanks!" Fillyshy smiles and takes the water. Shy yawns, and Fillyshy asks if she is tired. Shy nods, saying that she'd had a long day, making a pallet for Fillyshy to sleep on before going upstairs. "Night, Fillyshy." Fillyshy looks at Shy and says goodnight, and the two ponies go to bed. Shy doesn't sleep easy that night. She tears up as her eyes glow dark, fearing that the pain and sadness in her heart could rush forth at any moment...
chapter 2: the townThe next morning, Shy awakens to find that Fillyshy is still asleep, so she decides to make some breakfast for them both. She decides to make a simple breakfast, and starts to gather what she needs. Suddenly, a exclemation of excitement rings out from behind her. Shy jumps into the air, startled. "Hey, Shy!" Shy turns, seeing Fillyshy in the doorway. Reassured, Shy resumes her cooking. "Hey, Fillyshy. What's your favorite drink?" Shy asked, taking a glass from the cupboard. "Chocolate milk! I just love chocolate milk!" Fillyshy bursts out. Smiling, Shy pours the drink, and hands it to Fillyshy. Fillyshy quickly takes the glass, drinks it down, and rolls around on the floor with glee. Shy smiles, feeling wonderful for making her friend happy. She finishes cooking and serves the food, along with another big glass of chocolate milk for Fillyshy. After breakfast, the two ponies head into town looking for something to do. Fillyshy bounds down the path alongside Shy, who is still uneasy around others. They reach a clearing, and Shy sighs in releif. She had avoided bringing attention to herself. That is, until she bumps into a pony that she hadn't seen coming. Mortified, Shy feels as though she could melt into a puddle at any moment. The pony, a stallion, looks at Shy and smiles. He introduces himself as Brave Charger. Shy backs up behind Fillyshy, nervous and unsure. Fillyshy takes a step toward the stallion. "What's up, Brave?" Fillyshy says happily. "Hey, Filly. I'm doing alright. Who's this?" Brave asks, looking at Shy. Shy slowly looks toward Brave, trying mutter her name loud enough for him to hear. Failing to do so, she retreats behind Fillyshy, hiding in her mane. "That's my friend Shy! She's new here!" Filly says cheerfully. Shy, overcoming some portion of her fear, looks up at Brave and manages a quiet "Hey." "Hello, Shy. I'm sorry if I scared you," Brave says apologetically. Shy, gathering her courage, says "Oh, you didn't scare me... I-I-I'm just nervous around other ponies."” Brave nods thoughtfully, remembering his own experience being new in Ponyville. He gives Shy a quick hug to make her feel better. Shy feels somewhat less shakey, but still hides her face from passing ponies. The three ponies make their way to the lake, and rest by it's gleaming edge. Shy begins singing a lullaby. As she sings, Fillyshy becomes sleepy and yawns, politely asking Shy to stop singing. Shy does so with a small smile. Brave, a short distance away, looks at the other two, trying to come up with a way to become friends with Shy without intimidating her. Shy noticing the daydreaming stallion, walks over to him and asks if he is alright. "Oh, yeah," he said, snapping back to reality. "I'm just thinking." Shy smiles, staring out over the lake as the sun's rays glint off the sparkling water. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Brave says, looking fondly over the scene. Shy looks toward him, nodding in agreement. Fillyshy suddenly jumps into the lake cannon-ball style, splashing the others. Shy laughs as she and Brave dive in with her. After playing a while, they noticed some other ponies walking toward the lake. Shy gets out and hides in some bushes nearby, not wanting to draw attention to herself, but feels lonely without her friends. Fillyshy, noticing Shy's discomfort, gets out of the water and walks over to Shy, giving her a hug. Brave joins in soon afterward, but the hug does little to ease Shy. They decide to go into town to get some lunch, and Shy starts to relax, feeling more comfortable around Brave.
Chapter 3: The lakeThe three ponies hit town shortly after their swim, and find a resturaunt to have lunch at. Brave gives their orders to the waiter, and proceeds to pay the bill for all three of them. "You didn't have to do that," says Shy. "Yes I did. It's called being a gentleman," Brave responds with a smile. Shy blushes, as she'd never seen, let alone met, a stallion who'd do anything like that for a mare before. Fillyshy jumps up with glee, taking her food and finding a table for them to sit at. Shy takes a moment to look upon the town, noticing a distinct lack of ill-will among the crowd of ponies. She finds Ponyville to be much more acceptable then her former residence, Detrot. Detrot had many problems, including several underground crime syndicates, and the danger of walking around in broad daylight made everything more complicated. The feelings sweep through her so suddenly that she can't hold them all in, and she starts to weep. She leaps to her feet and runs home, and Fillyshy looks up just in time to see her dash off. "Shy!" both she and Brave call after her. Shy doesn't hear them, so they follow her home. They reach the house, but find that the door is locked. Fillyshy knocks on the door, and gets no response in return. She flies up to Shy's bedroom window, and sees her crying on her bed. Fillyshy knocks, and Shy sees her and opens the window. As Fillyshy flies in, Shy goes downstairs and lets brave in as well. Her cheeks still have tear trails on them, and Brave and Fillyshy ask her what the matter is. Shy flops down on her bed, hiding her face in a pillow, and begins sobbing again. Fillyshy sits on the bed and hugs her, motioning for Brave to do the same. Shy slowly gets up, and goes downstairs to get a glass of water. As she walks back, she drinks her water, thinking to herself. Should she tell them about Detrot? She sighs, and walks back upstairs. Fillyshy gets up and hugs her. "What's wrong, Shy?" Brave asks, concern in his voice, "Is it us, or did something happen?" "No, it's not you," Shy says quietly, "Just memories..." "What memories, Shy?" asks Fillyshy. Shy looks at them both, sits down on the bed, and describes the town that she'd come from. She explained that her town was full of contempt, and nopony trusted anyone which made doing anything difficult, unlike Ponyville where everyone made an effort to be friendly to one another. "Shy, it's ok," Brave says reassuringly, hugging Shy, "If something is bothering you that bad, then you can tell us." Shy smiles, even as the tears trickle down her face. "I'll be alright, Brave. Nopony wanted me around in Detrot. They all thought I was to kind. I'm glad I have you two." Brave looks at Shy in surprise. A pony hating another pony for being kind? Now that was odd. Shy takes a deep breath, and continues describing Detrot.
Chapter 4: DetrotShy opens the door, just wide enough to survey the area, and slowly steps out of her house. Would she get hurt today? Or maybe somepony (or something, for that matter)would decide to help themselves to whatever her small house had to offer. Same old day for Shy. It seemed that she was the only one who cared about anypony, but that didn't make much difference. Shy comes accross a group of ponies, and tries to avoid bringing attention to herself. Her efforts are in vain, though, as a rock comes sailing through the air at her. It hits it's target, making Shy wince. She puts her hoof to her head, and brings it down to look, seeing a spot of blood. The group starts chanting, "Pushover! Pushover!" but Shy ignores them and continues walking. One of the ponies, seeing her lack of reaction, gets frustrated and throws a punch. There's an obvious 'thud' as his hoof connects with her face, knocking her to the ground. Shy tears up, the pain becoming too much to ignore. The other ponies crowd her, and she curls up to protect herself as the other ponies take turns kicking her. The group quickly gets bored, seeing that she won't fight back, and leaves. Shy stands up, shakily, and walks back to her house. She locks the door, and falls on to her bed, crying. She looks out the window, at other ponies brawling in the street, yelling at each other, and just generally acting nasty. She goes to the kitchen, and gets a glass of water. She sits, thinking about her future, and hears someone else getting beaten up outside. She stops, knowing that if she tried to go help that she would also get hurt. Would it matter if she just locked herself in her house, and went out only for nececities? Going against her better judgment, she goes outside to help the battered pony. "Are you okay, sir?" Shy asks tentatively. The pony looks up at her, and stands up slowly. "Yes, I think." Shy smiles, helping the pony up, but is confused. She'd never seen another innocent pony in this town. "Thanks," he says quickly, and gallops off. As she turns back, she sees a group of ponies looking at her menecingly. Shy makes a run for it, but they grab her and pin her down. They beat her relentlesly, angry that she had helped the other pony, and her screams of pain just goaded them on. They quit, after a while, satisfied with their work. Shy, using a nearby wall for support, stands up, coughing blood. Her tears hit the ground as she walks home, stumbling along the way. Suddenly, an acrid scent hits her nose. "Wait, that smells like..." Shy wastes no time, going as fast as she can. As she rounds the bend, she sees it. Her house, burning to the ground, the smoke thickening as a group of ponies flee the scene. That was the last straw, "I need to get out of here," she says resolutely. She looks up, seeing the smoke and ash rising to the sky, and then turns, walking toward the town limits, not a care in the world where she went so long as she could get away from the hatred and misery that had become her life. As Shy nears the edge of town, she looks back one final time, wondering how the other pony would fare without her. "Good bye, Detrot," she mutters to herself, and walks on. As she nears the forest, Shy hears... whispering. She stands still, trying to make it out. "Hello? Who's there?" The voice, clearer this time, replys,"My name is Nightmare Moon. I have felt your pain. You don't have to worry anymore. I am here for you."
Chapter 6: The attackAfter the party was over they started to walk home they was all happy and good nothing could interrupted this moment. Off in the distance eyes are watching them closely and then a howl comes out as the figure runs out after them. Shy freezes when she hears it looking around like last time. Brave looks around “great Timberwolves just what we need fillyshy jumps to her new sister to help her “hey sis you okay” shy nods and shakes out of it the run off to get away. When they reach the end of the woods they stop to look back to se if they were still being chased they see the wolfs coming up fast. Brave rears back and bucks the wolf the timber wolf falls apart they run off to the town to get safe. Shy starts to pant as they realized she as been cut badly so they rush her to the hospital knowing that she tried to fly off when it happen the wolf grabbed her and slammed her so she could have a broken wing. When they get to the hospital the doctors rush shy in its been hrs but then she timidly walks out wing is in a cast and as bandaged up. Brave and fillyshy runs to her bluestar walks up to her asking if she fine even though she has been though much she does that kind warm friendly smiles she does to assures them that’s she is fine. Brave walks over to her knowing she isn’t fine but stops thinking that this would be best for her to talk when she is ready. As they walk out one of the nurses run up to them trying to explain fully that shy should take it easy “umm hey am shamrock and well shy should rest and take things slow” brave, filly and blue look up agreeing to what the nurse said. Shy looks away trying when the pain shows on her face filly notices though and hugs her to comfort her shamrock quickly runs out taking the nurse uniform off in a hurry saying she’s late. The four ponies look in confusion but doesn’t pay it much attention and walk off going to shy’s house so shy could rest she really needs it right now as shy walks they stay close to her so if she faints or collapses on the ground they could catch her quickly. They get down the road when shy starts to fell weak under her legs brave and blue rush to hold her up straight as filly talks to her so her mind won’t focus on the pain she is in right now. They reach the house and help her to her bed so she can relax and rest as they lay her down brave couldn’t help it its been bothering him all day about detrot and way is that place like that. “ummm shy can you explain to us way detrot is like how it is because I have never heard of a town that violent” shy looks up as she knows what happen to that city how it was a great city but know only full of hate and despair. Shy looks up as she going to talk but stops as she tears up from the stories she was told by some of the older ponies. She sighs and says that the town was a kind hearted town once she stops to look out the window to try and gather her thoughts all in one. She looks around to make sure she sees every pony even blue is interested in this story to hear what happen to a city that when u look the grass is yellow, buildings has holes in them, the water is green, people hate and just tries to make it were kindness is not around them, the sky has a gloomy look to it and no birds there or anything just a dark place. Shy starts to pace her breath and mumbles it but stops knowing she saying it in a low tone. Blue starts to get impatient wanting to know what happen and starts to show it by having an annoyed look on his face from shy not telling at all. Filly hugs blue to calm him down then suddenly shy stares up nervously knowing that there attention is on her but she takes a deep breath and gulps and starts it of in a calm voice. Everypony in the room now attentive and listening even filly who usually is fidgety is still looking and listening to her new sis and not breaking focus at all. Brave sits down to listen to what shy has to say and is in deep thought of how this well go trying to figure it out but is stopped by thoughts as shy begins to talk about it.
Chapter 7: The fall of detrotIn detrot everypony was cleaning helping and just so happy they had there hard times but celestia always came through for them no matter what happen. The day started as usual no pony seemed to know what was going to happen but they didn’t care like they always said friendship is magic. They loved to make new friends and have tours around there city but today no one came they didn’t care they could just relax and have a blast. Then they noticed that it was wired but they had nothing they could do but then royal guards come rushing in fast flying every were landing as they say that the city is under there over see that this city has a plan to kill the princesses. At this the ponies try to reason saying they love celestia and Luna but no prevail the guards put most of them in handcuffs questioning them trying to find out there plans. The ponies were scared has celestia betrayed them the one who was the sweetest and kindness of all betrayed them how could she at this thought the ponies begin to get hatred in there hearts trying to fight back. Celestia at the castle trying to figure out what going on were had her guards go in a hurry. Back there the royal captain looks at them saying that they had better tell the ponies flied to hide scared. The thought grew and grew when they can’t believe this why them what did they do wrong to make the princess do this when the guards left they said they would be back the ponies hated the princess now and hated her teachings of kindness and anything remotely to that. When the princess figured out what happened it was too late as the guards just terrorized that city with information that was false she sighed knowing she has to do something her subjects were upset. When the princess showed up saying that this was not suppose to happen the citizens yelled at her telling her to leave that they didn’t need her. She tried to reason with them that they could do a friendship report of how they could get past this when she said that the ponies got more pissed “a friendship report really” a pony yelled out Luna showed up to comfort her sister as they watched this city become hatred to the core and from there on they never liked kindness at all and anypony who had kindness in there heart they hated from there on and didn’t care what would happen or cared if they hurt the pony who was kind and that they would break celestia teachings and show that kindness is a lie to all that only this would be just in there own twisted way. Shy stopped right there as she was tearing up from the thought and brave was mad saying that they shouldn’t be like that over that that they are just spoiled and was never loyal at all just to betray the morals like that. Shy looked up and said there more then she begin again from were they started to hate but wasn’t that bad but as the years grew and there city just kept falling into darkness and that as each new generation came it got worse and worse to were they started to bet the crap out of each other and anyone who dared to be kind. Filly jumped up at this saying how come you are so sweet and kind shy smiled and started to say how she felt bad for them and was always kind by heat and didn’t care how people treated her but in that city it was like a crime to be nice or kind . Brave hugged her saying you’re here now and then she said that the kids had more hatred for that there parents had gone though and hated anything that the princess said they would go against to were one time they broke away from Equestria just so they wouldn’t. At that thought they didn’t knowing the royal guards and the crystal empire would send troops to help and they would end up losing so they stayed but still go against everything. Shy stopped and said she feels bad for them but she had to leave and that she couldn’t take that anymore brave hugged her saying its okay you’re here with friends who care just know we are here for you no matter what.
Chapter 9: So there trueAfter the commotion had died a little both royal sisters responded. Luna seemed concerned and asked "were is she, i can reason with her" for some reason Luna cared deeply. Maybe because she could relate to the situation. Celestia seemed more worried for the other pony whose name was fillyshy. She was hoping nothing bad would happened then Twilight spoke out "so...what's the plan, she has the elements" celestia sighed at this and only said " there not much we can do besides me and Luna with Cadence go and stop her, with the alicorn magic we might stand a chance without the elements." spike seemed the most scared but he acted brave as fluttershy was hiding and shivering. it was time for the sun to rise but the moon refused to move and didn't listen to Luna command. This was bad. Nightmare moon or also now nightmare shy was planing her attack. with the elements out of the way she could get going on taking over Equestria over much more easily. she started to use the old castle as a base of operation and decided to try get followers that would follow her cause but first, fillyshy must pay. fillyshy was on her way to a new town, a new life, and a new beginning as suddenly nightmare moon appeared and struck her. blood ran down her mouth as she shivered in pain and trembled in fear. she could try reasoning with her. it was still her sister right, so she asked "shy please forgive me" she asked but was cut off with a sharp piercing shot to her left lung. she gasped in pain as she now struggling to breath. nightmare moon laughed at the shivering scares pony and filly begged as a swift kick to her gut was made. she screamed in pain as she spat out blood. her eye sight started to blur up. she felt weak as another powerful hit was made. she screamed in pain. finally another shot was made to her right lung. now she was suffocating slowly dying. within 10 minutes she could barely see as nightmare used her horn piercing her heart and then smashing in her skull. the crimson blood ran down as laughter was breaking the silence. fillyshy now was dead and she started to walk over as shy heart grew darker. news hit that there was a murder and it was a gruesome scene. It made royal guards sick to there stomach as they had to move the body. Celestia heart broke at the news. brave and the others felt a sudden ocean of depression. it it brave the hardiest has he was friends with filly the longest. his rage built up "were going to kill her and end this horrible chapter." he was in tears as he started to shake. Bluestar hugged him as the main six was now all suddenly realizing how violent nightmare moon was and what actions she was willing to go to. Luna felt guilty for being unable to save the mare that lost her life. the memories they shared was heart breaking. there was a funeral that was taking place. it seemed it hit pinkie pie hard. apparently she was in a serious relationship with Fillyshy. her hair was flat and she didn't want to party her spirit was crushed. she just lost her loved one. all the times they spent together talking, making cakes, planing parties, sleeping together. she felt like her heart had just dropped drastically and after the funeral she left and locked herself away in her own room. it seemed laughter was destroyed and the other main six felt hurt by pinkie pain. how could this happened. The news hit the towns the return of nightmare moon. panic was rushing over the lands. Rumors was true and everypony was scared of what was going to happen. royal guards was doubled the castle was under defense and everyone knew that it wasn't a rumor anymore. it was all true. and she was back with vengeance.
Chapter 10: Fear/Master planThe ponies of equstria was scared, all the rumors was true, speculations was all the talk, the sun hasn’t come up as the land is covered in darkness. Luna herself is unsure what to do this was troubling. Pinkie was missing, the main six was split and shy new friends was mad, extremely angry. All this was going great like a master plan that Nightmare moon has planned. She made the old royal castle her base of operation. She needed to raise an army to fight for her, this was huge as she could go about this differently, but she was going to use this war as a distraction. Celestia was trying to figure this all out, how would this end. Twilight was stressed with pinkie missing, rainbow wanting to go to war, applejack scared for her sister as with rarity the same, and fluttershy trying to avoid war. All this was tearing bonds apart if not testing them. Luna felt useless, she could not command the moon and she need to find a way to connect with this mare who desperately needs the help, before she falls to Nightmare moon grasp. All this was sudden, how did she hide for so long and what about this mare, shy, why her? Shy has been the outcast but how well this affect the outcome. Shy wanted to be kind but her eyes now dark, and her heart dark its failure for her. Everything she does failure, and fillyshy leaving was the last straw as she just gave in. but this was new, power, comfort or an illusion., but whatever it was she did not feel alone, scared, or helpless. She was excited and as this unraveled she enjoyed it. The castle was changed no longer in ruins, and to the surprise of others, ponies went to join the Nightmare forces this was boiling up. Cold winter fast approaches, as we fearfully wait, the simplest of simple creatures, bound by the laws of fate, as we shivered in the gutters, far away from home, we lost the last vestige of hope, freezing and alone. A shadow came to us in our dreams, with tales of better times, the true Princess of the Night forgave us for our crimes and as the Royal Sisters overlooked us, nocturnal we became, We bear a darker armor, and we carried a different flame A voice shouted out “You now belong to a greater good, and you answer to a higher call! You are part of the best and greatest, and there is no room for failure! You will leave behind all weakness! You are no longer a mortal! You are an indestructible Soldier of the Night!” The moonlight shines across the land, a calling they obey, the purest black of shadows rise to fight a greater fight as my brothers and sisters move as one, we Soldiers of the Night. They saw her moonlit eyes, a fury held at bay a battle waiting in the ashes, to resume another day, as they disappear into the shadows, they filled their souls with dread, and they will fight tonight to rule tomorrow, and the dark day’s lies ahead. All of this, was building so within a few nights she had her army, but held them at bay waiting, planning, and placing her pieces down one by one. Everything was going as Nightmare Moon planned, exactly the pace of the building, timing and she was not done by far, she was only just beginning are hostile takeover. And now shy had people who bowed to her and did not dare disobey, hurt, crush, or try to harm her. They was loyal as Nightmare Moon whispered in her ear. “This is true friendship, look at them, not disagreeing with you, and I’m here for you, your like my child and I shall protect thy from others.” Shy looked at them, felt safe warm and somehow happy, could this be real and what about her friends who showed her kindness and she killed…her first friend…a sister…but nightmare moon reminded her she left her, and hurt her greatly, she was not a true friend but just was using shy for personal gain. This made shy head hurt as she started to tear up, the tears streaming down her face and dropping the droplets on her hoof and in front of her hoof. She was heartbroken, filly left her, after saying she wouldn’t, so shy went to her chambers to rest as she needed it. She wanted to forget the memory of Fillyshy, as she screamed in her pillow and Nightmare Moon power making the castle shake and her soldiers scared and feeling bad for her, as now there determined to serve their new ruler.
prologueLight fades in the sky as the pegasus mare trots down the path, away from the gloom of her past. Away from the hurt. The torment. The fear. Right now, fear overcomes her as she crosses the forest, the trees casting gloom as far as the eye could see. She hates being out in the deep dark woods. She'd never have ventured this far normally, but this is an exception. The life she has led thus far has been fraught with pain and sorrow, and she longs for a more quiet and peaceful existence. "Maybe I'll make some friends," she thinks to herself, "And I won't have to stay inside all the time." As she trots down the path, a hooded figure comes into view, sitting at the divergence of a fork in the path. She can't make out his face. Walking up to him, she notes that the cloak he is wearing is old, brown, worn out. The kind of thing an old unicorn wizard might wear in children's fairy tales. She walks up to him and looks under the hood. The stranger's face was striking, in that it was almost totally blank in expression. He didn't seem to take note of her presence. "Um, excuse me," she says timidly, "Sorry for disturbing you, but which way is the next town?" The stranger's eyes flick up, and his head raises ever so slightly. He regards her for several moments. She gulps. Just as she starts to back away, he points toward the left fork. The mare smiles, saying a quiet, "Thank you," and departs. As she walks, the gloom sets in more prominently. Briefly she wonders if other ponies in Ponyville are like that stallion. A sign emerges from the wan light reading, "Ponyville, 10 miles." She decides to fly until she gets close to the town. In her mind, she justifies it with a desire to avoid attracting attention to herself, despite a flying pony generally being more interesting to look at than a trotting one. She tries to avoid blaming it on a desire to keep from meeting other ponies like that one. After a few miles of gliding, she floats gently to earth and then sticks to a quick trot. Other ponies on the path, mostly merchants hauling their wares on carts. Hopefully none of them make eye contact with her. Soon, she can make out a town in the distance, and stops, suddenly feeling nervous. She stepped, one hoof after the other, until she stood at the edge of town. What if Ponyville isn't as nice as everyone says? What if everypony makes a big deal about her? "No," she tells herself determinedly. She's come too far to quit now. She takes a deep breath, and carefully walks into town
Chapter 8: The dark secretIt's late at night everypony went to pinkie pie place for another party but shy wanted to be alone something was bothering her ever since that voice from when she left, what was her name she though w-what was it. All of a sudden she hear the voice nightmare moon voice "do you need me shy" shy looks around scared but filly runs up to her with bad news. "hey shy am sorry but am leaving and won't be coming back" from hearing this shy tears up in disbelive "y-y-your leaving me fillyshy w-were sisters" fillyshy looks at shy "I know but am going am sorry" "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME LIKE THIS" shy runs off crying. Fillyshy goes back to the party trying to get help she gets twilight, applejack, pinkie, fluttershy, rarity, rainbowdash, brave,bluestar, and spike to go after shy hoping she wasn't in trouble nightmare talks to shy saying that no pony cares for her or well every like her and she is the only pony that cares for shy. shy is crying her eyes glowing dark, her mane free flowing, and lightning shooting from her as she grows a horn and she starts to laughs when they find her they are struck at what they see twilight speaks out"n-n-nightmare m-moon" shy looks at them laughing "I HAVE RETURNED" when she said this she vanishes and spike trying to figure out what's happing how are they going to twilight quickly yells we got to get back to the elements.They rush back finding that the elements are missing and twilight starts to panic saying we have to aleart the princess both of them. the letter was sent all of them freaking out when dash says i though nightmare was in luna or was luna thats when twilight explain nightmare was a diffrent pony. After the comotion eveypony was scared some said it eas luna but the rumors was true nightmare is back fillyshy was worryed about her sis she all alone in there and nightmare moon is in there but brave said that nightmare was shy filly in anger exploded in a furry saying that it wasn't and they only saw what nightmare wanted them to see. Twilight tries to comfort fillyshy saying she not your sister anymore she belongs to nightmare , fillyshy in rage storms out saying she well prove them wrong. but when she runs she starts to think that could be shy and not a trick but it's looked like shy she was even crying with the pain in her eyes. that was her sister but she didn't want to accecpt that. Fillyshy finds shy yelling what have you done now shy looks at her "oh now you want to stay to late am no longer shy i am nightmare moon" fillyshy cries and says this isn't the way this wasn't her sister this wasn't what shy wanted. Shy looks at her and laughs as she bucks her sister hard, fillyshy cries and yells i hate you this only grow the pain in shy her eyes glow darker and she looks at her sayinf yes more you can't understand this really can you, fillyshy runs off saying am not coming back ever for you. Shy vanishes to the old castiel in the woods. She thinks that she well be up against the princesses and the mane 6 but no big deal to her for she well be the new ruler of equestria.
