Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe high-pitched noise continued, causing my ears to bleed. But that was not the only thing, it was melting my brain, it acted like a hard reset bringing up old memories then destroying them, erasing them from my mind completely. I let out another scream of pain, then everything went silent, I could still feel my brain killing itself, so I concluded that I had gone deaf. The pain stopped next, I could see Twilight running over to me as Luna seemed to be kicking a rock. Then Luna reached down and picked up a small reptile from the rock, then everything went black as I died, but not before one especially horrible memory came up from the darkest pit of my mind.
"Sargast! Sargast!" Twilight was shaking me, I was completely healed, mind and all. Well, except for one thing, that last memory.
"Girls, get away from me!" I groaned, feeling that dark part of my mind taking over.
"Sargast are you alright?" Twilight asked.
"Trust me, run!" I said with a lot more force this time. Luna seemed to realize that something was seriously wrong, and told the girls to follow her. All of them ran after her, except for Twilight. I got up and yelled. "TWILIGHT GO! NOW!" She didn't budge. I could feel the past as it started to repeat itself.
"Sargast I know I can help you!" She said to me.
"Listen to me! You CANNOT help me with this, so help yourself and run!" I yelled at her. That stupid mare didn't budge, she was gonna get herself killed, by me. I shoved her away from me. "Twilight, if you don't run you are gonna die!" I grabbed my sword from it's sheath and made a motion to throw it away, but stopped mid-arc. "Oh no." I whispered. I felt my insane side taking over, pushing all common sense and knowledge of right and wrong to the back of my mind.
"Hehehehehehehehehe, looks like some little filly should have listened to me!" I said, my voice adapting a higher pitch and a horrific grin appeared on my face. I lowered my sword and pointed it at Twilight. "You better run you silly filly. I wouldn't want you to ruin my fun!"
"S-S-Sargast?" Twilight asked scared.
"Hello, who iiiisss it! Oh its you! You're just in time." I said, my eyes were now red and bloodshot.
"T-T-Time for what?" Twilight said to me, backing away slowly. I leaned in and whispered in her ear.
"Killing time!" She turned and ran and I gave chase, laughing like a psycho-murderer, because I was. I lunged at her, missing. The sensible part of my mind fought for control. "Twilight run! Don't look back, come back little filly! I just want to DRINK YOUR BLOOD!" Twilight was now running for her life as I gave chase, swinging my sword, ready to kill anything in my path. "Swish swish swish! I'll gut you like a fish! Swing swing swing! I will feast on your wings!" I sang as I herded her into a dead-end canyon. "Is the little filly trapped? What a shame our game must end so soon." I said as I prepared to chop her head off. Her horn started to glow, as did I. "Don't you know? Magic doesn't work on me!"
"It works on Sargast, and you seem to be him, so I don't see why not." She said as she prepared a simple death spell. "Sargast don't make me do this!"
"What a shame such a young alicorn must die. Just kidding! You and your kind will drown in their own blood I will feast on their corpses, as I will do with your's." Twilight let loose the death spell, I fell to the ground, still breathing.
"I'm sorry Sargast, I had to do it." She stepped towards my body. I sprung up and was about to swing my sword when I was knocked off my feet by a bolt of dark blue magic.
"STEP AWAY FROM HER!" Luna yelled, using the royal equestian voice. I looked up to see her fly down and stab me in the stomach with her own sword.
"It will take more than that to kill me, so it looks like I will get a double kill! Hahahah-" I was cut off by Luna yanking her sword out of my stomach and stabbing me in the face, three times. Twilight watched horrified as the fight slowly drained out of me. "Twilight, I told you to run." I said to her, my voice and eyes turning back to normal. I spat up a little blood. After that everything went black as I died.

We were now all back at our last campsite, because of my stupid sadistic psychopathic murderer side we had made up no ground. "Sargast you should have told us about that!" Luna yelled at me. She seemed really pissed-off.
"Well hey I didn't think that a brain-frying lizard would show up and push up those stupid memories again!" I yelled back.
"Wait a minute, didn't you tell us all about you memories? Why didn't you turn into a monster then?" Rainbowdash asked.
"Not the memories I told you, a different one. And before you all get mad at me I didn't tell you because I didn't want to risk going nuts. And monster is such a harsh word." I said to them.
"You said you would kill all of us and eat our corpses." Twilight said flatly.
"Oh, well than." I said. "I don't want to recount that cursed memory again, but I am gonna bury my sword, so that if I have a nightmare about it there is no chance that I could get a weapon. Not saying that if I have a nightmare that I will go crazy and try to kill all of you, but just in case ya' know."
"I will watch your dreams, make sure that this nightmare does not happen." Luna said. With that all of us went into our tent to go to bed, after my sword was buried of course. I settled down in my bed and felt a presence in my mind, I soon fell asleep.
I was standing in my old schoolyard, watching myself play in the sandbox, away from everypony else. I knew that this took place after my parents died, but before the event with Flip. Luna appeared beside me. "This seems like a nice enough dream."
"Just wait, this is the nightmare." I said solemnly. We watched as I turned around to grab a stick that I was using to carve details into a sand castle that I made. Suddenly a bully walked over and kicked the sand castle, knocking sand into my eyes.
"Well if it isn't the orphan!" He said to me, I only rubbed the sand out of my eyes and stared at him. "What killed them again? A fire? Well it probably wouldn't have happened if your parents weren't so stupid that they had their oven on!" He sneered.
"Don't insult my parents!" I said to him, I knew this was getting to the point now.
"Watch carefully Luna." I said to the princess, she nodded and looked on.
"They insulted themselves! And you're just a chip off the old block, just like your parents. Stupid, ignorant and downright ugly!" He laughed, so he didn't notice me stand stand up, or my eyes turn red and bloodshot. I tackled him into the ground, pounding him with punch after punch. I broke his nose but didn't stop, I continued punching until Flip ran over and pulled me off him. I looked at my only friend and my eyes went back to normal, I started to tear up. "Get that monster away from me!" The bully shrieked as he backed away from me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you!" I said to him, I was completely sincere and Flip knew it. The bully just got up and ran into the building. After a little while the teacher rushed out to find me in tears, crying on Flip's shoulder.
"Sargast?" She said, her voice a mix of fear and pity. Flip looked over at her and made a small motion for her to go away, she obliged quickly and kindly. I turned to Luna.
"That is what happened, my parents death's left me with more than emotional scarring, it left me with a mental scar that will never go away, it acts like a switch between normal me-"
"And killer you." Luna finished for me, she looked at me. "Sargast, why did you stop when you looked at that foal?"
"That foal is, or was Flip, my only friend. He died in a earthquake, right next to me." I said quietly. "I think the reason why I stopped is because Flip was a friend, somepony who I could trust, somepony who could help me through anything. I remember looking at him and seeing him as a focal point of peace, he made me calm down enough so the switch could flick back into normal mode." As I finished my dream changed. "What the hell?"
"Oh Sargast you know me too well to not realize it is me! Or you did know me at least." Deadriser's deep voice boomed through the throne room of his dark stronghold. "Oh and hello Luna! How nice to see you"
"What do you want now dude? Can't you see i'm in the middle of explaining a tragedy of my past?" I said to him casually. Luna looked at me.
"Sargast? He is your enemy and you talk to him like he is a normal pony?" She asked me.
"Why the hell not? Do you want me to refer to him as sir-douchebag?" I asked her.
"Oh Sargast your entire life is a tragedy! Nothing will ever go right for you." Deadriser said to me.
"Are you really trying to make me worried, or psyche me out? Dude you really should change your tactics, you seem to forget that I don't care, I know my life sucks and it always will. So I have decided to take my anger out on you! So when I find you I will tear you spine out and mutilate your corpse!" I said to him way too cheerfully.
"Oh Sargast you really were the funny one, its such a shame that I will have to kill you so soon." He said.
"Let me frigging guess, you have some kind of group of monsters in the real world that are supposed to kill us all." I said to him with a I-really-don't-care-anymore type attitude. "Bring it on."
"No Sargast, not right now, but soon." He replied.
"Don't tell me it is a soon as my choice cause that thing still hasn't come my way." I said to him. The dream then ended abruptly. My eyes opened, and I reached to the side of my cot for my sword, getting ready to fight whatever Deadriser sent our way. I realized quickly that there was no threat to our safety, as well as I had forgotten where I buried my sword. "Fuck my life." I muttered to myself, getting up off the cot. "Time to go sword hunting."
