//-------------------------------------------------------// Everdeath -by Darkportal963- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Part one. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part one. Do you fear dying? You know you do. Deep down you fear the time where it all ends. It could happen at any time, in any way. I however, fear life. I have died about one hundred times now. Three from suicide, eighty from accidents, seven from wild animals and ten from being murdered. But each time I die, I come back, no matter if I had been torn to shreds, my body would put itself back together and I would live on. Some ponies call it a gift, others call it a miracle. I call it a curse. Oh yeah, my name is Sargast Everdeath by the way. And this is my story. I was in the throne room, trying to see if one of the princesses could help me. "Do you know why it happens?" Asked Princess Luna. "Nope, it just does." I replied. "It might be some kind of regeneration spell cast over you as a foal." Princess Twilight remarked. "I for one see it as a blessing. You are probably destined for great things, and that is why you keep coming back." Said Princess Celestia. "NO! It is not a blessing!" I yelled at her, she seemed taken aback by my boldness. But I continued. "You have no idea how painful death is, especially when it happens again and again, on an endless loop! If I am destined for great things I would love to shove that responsibility up somepony else's ass! I am sick and damn tired of having to feel the pain of death. It seems to be around every damn corner! One time I was using the damn washroom, a ceiling tile fell on me and crushed my skull!" I ranted on like that for another minute. "Well maybe if you were more-" Celestia was cut off by her sister Luna. "He is careful, I have seen him. He looks around for anything that may kill him in every room before entering. He just has the worst possible luck." As if to prove her point one of the chandeliers fell off the ceiling, striking me down. The three princesses gasped as I fell to the floor, dead, only to get up seconds later. "See! I don't die!" I yelled. "We will do everything we can to help you." Said Luna. "Thank you." I said graciously. *** As I walked through Ponyville a couple of foals stopped and stared. "Hey look it's the zombiepony! Cool!" One of them said. I smiled a bit, it made me happy to make other ponies happy. Then suddenly Pinkie Pie sprung out of nowhere and gasped very loudly, then ran off. "Oh no." I muttered. "She knows where I am staying." I walked over to Sugarcube Corner to grab some muffins when Rainbowdash appeared beside me, I looked over at her. "Hey, uhh, does Pinkie know where you live?" She asked me. "Yes." I replied. "Do not, I repeat do NOT go to your house until tomorrow." I knew why and I wasn't about to disobey her, last time Pinkie threw a party she got such a sugar rush that she needed to go to the emerge the next morning. "You're new around here I guess, my name's Rainbow Dash, although I suspect you already know me." Rainbow said. "Yeah, tales of you six got around pretty quick, do you know who I am?" I asked her. "No, I don't think I do." "You ever hear a zombiepony tale?" "Yeah, tons, why?" She looked at me confused. "Well then you've heard of me, I am the one who sparked the zombiepony tales. I don't die, well I do but I just come back to life." I said to her. She stared at me blankly. "I don't believe you. You're pulling my leg." "Hang around me long enough and you will believe me." I said to her flatly. "Suuuuure, and I am an alicorn!" She said to me, chuckling to herself. "Yep and i'm an earth pony. (I was a pegasus, I just liked to walk more after I fell to my death five times) See anypony can say bullshit, only some can tell the truth." She looked at me only now starting to think I was telling the truth. I guess swearing makes you sound more truthful? *** Turns out Pinkie waited a whole night for me to come home, so I had to party anyways. It wasn't bad until Pinkie started to shovel cupcakes and pixie stix into her mouth, then it got hectic. After the party, (and after Pinkie got her stomach pumped again, and was diagnosed with diabetes.) I went into my room and looked at myself in the mirror. I had a dark green coat and a brown mane. My eyes were a dark brown. I had a cutie mark of a tombstone on my flank. (You can guess what that is for.) There was a look of sadness and despair in my eyes. I remembered the day my parents died, the day of my first death. There was smoke everywhere, in the halls, in our rooms. I was scared, I cried out for my mom or dad but they never came. Over the crackling of the flames I could hear them calling out for me. I started to cry as I realized there was no escape. I ran over to my window and threw it open, I thought jumping was my only way of escape. I had forgotten that fire used air to breath as well. I cried out in pain as the flames jumped towards me, enveloping my tiny body. I fell the the floor, fire burning my coat, before I blacked out I could hear my parents call out to me one last time. I shook my head, once again looking into the mirror, I saw that I was crying, why shouldn't I? I walked over to my bed and crawled underneath the covers, hoping for sleep to take me away. Hoping for my nightmare of a life to finally end. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part two. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part two. I woke up the next morning to find a letter outside my door, it was a letter from the princesses saying that they now had Cadence there, and that she would like to meet me. So I walked out into the fresh air of Ponyville taking it all in, and headed for the train station. On my way there I saw Fluttershy, hovering near a tree, hanging birds nests in it. She was just about done when out of nowhere Rainbowdash sped past the tree, knocking all of the new nests out, she said a quick sorry as she continued on her way. Fluttershy started to put the birds nests back in when I offered to help her. Sure I was prone to dying with doing even the most mundane tasks, like walking down stairs( Ask and you die.) but that doesn't mean I am a soulless asshole who wants to help nopony but myself. "Hey you need help with that?" I asked her. "Well, umm, maybe. If you don't mind that is." She replied in such a quiet voice i'm sure that a pin dropping would mute her. "I don't mind at all, my name is Sargast by the way." I said to her as I picked up the birds nests. She gasped so I looked at her expecting to see like a bunny with a hurt paw, instead she was staring right at me, with wide eyes. "S-S-Sargast? You mean y-y-you are THE Sargast, S-Sargast E-E-Everdeath?" She looked at me while shaking in fear. "Yes" I sighed "don't worry I mean you no harm." "B-B-But aren't you a z-zombie?" "Well technically yes, but not the eat your brains type. I'm just like anypony else, except I never die" She still looked spooked, so to calm her down I put the birds nests down and started to walk away. "No! Wait!" She called after me in a loud whisper. "I didn't mean to offend you, sorry." She bowed her head. "Hey no i'm fine, trust me I've been insulted worse than that before."I said to her "You have?" She asked "Yep, I've even been burned at the stake once." I said to her as I put the nests into the trees. "There, done! I'll see you around!" "Bye!" *** I rubbed my temples, these princesses were getting on my nerves. "How do you deal with them?" I whispered to Cadence. "I don't, I moved away." She chuckled. Luna and Celestia had been arguing for over thirty minutes now. They were yelling at each other, the argument got so heated that I feared they would start using the royal equestrian voice. "NO! I KEEP TELLING YOU SISTER, THERE IS SOME KIND OF FIELD OF MAGIC AROUND HIM!" Luna yelled at her older sister. "THERE IS NO MAGIC FIELD, NO CURSE OF ANY TYPE. HE IS JUST THE WAY HE IS.!" Celestia yelled back. "PRINCESSES!" Twilight yelled over the two of them, they turned and looked at her. "Luna is correct, there is a magical field around his body that continually regenerates him." "But that is simply not possible, he is a pegasus, not a unicorn." Celestia said calmly. "That's the thing, the magic seems to be emanating from inside of him." Said Twilight. We all looked at her confused. "The magic seems natural, it was there your whole life. It's coming from inside you, being produced by your soul, your very being is outputting the strongest regeneration spells." "So can I stop it?" I asked hopefully. "No, I don't believe you can." She replied gravely. I sighed and the meeting was closed for the princesses to discuss what Twilight had said. *** When I got home Pinkie jumped out from one of the bushes outside my home. "Hi" she said, donning a huge smile. "Did you like the party? How is Twilight doing? Does she remember me? Want a cupcake?" She reminded me of one of my old friends, Flip Lighthoof. The thought of my old friends brought back a painful memory. "Come on Sargast!" Called Flip, he was a dark blue pegasus pony with an orange mane. We were on lunch break and he was flying towards one of the cliffs. "Are you chicken?" He asked while making clucking noises. "You really need to know your animals dude." I said to him, I always was a nerd. "Chickens can't fly and I'm flying, so I can't be a chicken." And with a couple of flaps I was next to him. "We going or what." Flip flew over to the cliff face and landed, panting. He wasn't much of a flyer, his wings were the normal size but they could only hold him in the air for a few minutes at most. He instead figured out a way so that he would flap them really fast, that would make a vacuum, letting him stand on vertical surfaces. "Race you to the top!" He shouted, stepping up onto the wall. I grinned. "You're on!" I replied. I flew over to the bottom of the cliff. "Ready? Set. GO!" I shouted. He ran up the wall while I flew, then the earthquake hit. I could see the wall rumbling underneath him, he looked over at me worried. "WATCH OUT!" I yelled as a huge boulder came crashing down over the side of the cliff, he swiftly dodged it. "Come on!" I yelled. "We need to get outta here!" "No shit!" He yelled back. He started to dash down the wall, returning to the ground as more boulders fell. "Heads up!" He called to me, I looked up to see a boulder the size of a train car falling towards me, I easily dodged it. "That was way too close!" He said as he narrowly dodged another one. "LOOK OUT!" I screamed as a boulder fell down, I flew over to him, trying to shove him out of the way, I never made it in time. He looked up to see the boulder come crashing down on top of him. I rushed over repeatedly whispering "No, no, no!" I started shaking him, as if I could bring him back to life with my sheer non-acceptance. I flew to the school house, faster than I had ever flown before. I burst through the door, calling for the teacher. "What just happened out there?" She asked worried. "What's wrong?" "F-F-Flip! H-He was hit with a rock!" I said to her, I was off my adrenaline spike now and I was shaking, hard. "Ohmygosh." She followed me to where the Flip was, her first-aid kit in hoof. She felt his head, where the rock hit. She looked up at me, a look on her face that could only mean one thing. "He's gone." She said, there was no emotion in her voice. None of the usual happy, sing-songy voice that teachers normally had. Tears welled in my eyes, he was the only friend I ever had, the only one who had been there to help me through my parents death. I flew back to the schoolhouse, in shock. The other kids all crowded around me when I opened the door. "What happened?" One of them asked. I looked up at the filly who had asked. "He's dead." I said, choking back a sob. "Hey what's that, on your flank?" Another one asked. "It looks like a, a." he gulped. "It looks like a tombstone." I shook my head, as if to remove those memories from it. "Umm, well I'm pretty sure Twilight knows who you are." I said to Pinkie. "You're pretty sure?" She said, worry in her voice. "Ohmygosh, she might not remember me, I need to send her a lett-" "Pinkie" I said "Twilight wouldn't forget a friends name." I said to her. "Good." She sighed. It was then that I realized I wouldn't either. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part three. (I am so creative aren't I?) //-------------------------------------------------------// Part three. (I am so creative aren't I?) I walked into my home and looked at the pictures of me and Flip. I wanted to tear those pictures off the wall, but feared to do so, I felt as if taking them down would not only get rid of my bad memories, but the good ones too. I walked over to my bed, reaching underneath I pulled out a small cardboard box. Opening it up was like opening up my foalhood, it was full of things from my past that made me happy. My old stuffed dog, I remember my parents handing him to me, saying that he will always be there for me, that he will always be my friend. I put it back in after giving it a quick hug and pulled out the next item, a report card, reading straight A+'s, I read the teacher's note:Sargast is a very intelligent foal, and a model student. He listens in class and is normally the first to answer my questions. I put the paper back in the box. Next I pulled out a large book, it was always my favorite book as a foal, Pony Flapson and the Lightning Thief. Putting it back in I shoved the box back under my bed. "Well you had quite the interesting day Sargast." I said to myself. "Time to go to sleep."I yawned as I pulled back the covers of my bed and climbed in, letting sleep take me. "Hello Sargast!" A deep voice boomed, I looked around, where was I? There were six corridors around me, each with a tapestry of one of the mane six's cutie mark on it. "The time is coming near Sargast, what will you choose? Who, will you choose?" I was confused, this had to be a dream right? "Who are you?" I shouted "Show yourself!" "All in due time Sargast, all in due time." The voice said. Then the world started to spin around me as the dream dissipated. I fell to the floor dazed and confused, what could that dream have meant? Who will I choose? This all made my head hurt, but I couldn't push the thoughts about my dream away, I had to get help. And I knew just the pony, er princess that could. *** I decided to fly to to the castle, what is the worst that could happen? It's not like I'm dead forever if my wings give out right? Even if I was I wouldn't care, I'd be dead! At the castle gates a guard stopped me. "Halt!" He said, blocking my path. "What is your business with the princesses?" I was in the mood to really screw with somepony after that dream, so I decided to buck with his mind. "Well I tend to die, a lot, but when I do my body will heal itself using this weird-ass natural magic. So I die, then come back. Watch!" I grabbed the guards spear from his hooves and ran myself through with it, smiling. "What the fu-" I cut the guard off with the sound of the spear clattering to the floor, leaving me standing up straight, the wound completely gone. "Ta-da!" I said to the guard. He looked at me in disbelief, then let me in while saying. "G-Go r-right in s-s-sir." I had just blown his bucking mind, sucker. *** "So tell me about this, dream." Princess Luna asked me. "Well, I was standing in an empty hall, and a really deep voice was booming in my head. There we-" "Do you think it was Discord?" "No, Discord giving me nightmares would probably include epileptic seizures and ponies barfing chocolate milk." I replied. "True. Please continue." Said the princess of the night. You know, she would probably intimidate most ponies just by looking at them. But I wasn't scared of her one bit. To tell you the truth she should be fearing me, I couldn't be killed and I am quite skilled with a sword. There was no logical way she could defeat me, even with the help of the most powerful ponies in all of Equestria. The thought made me cringe, there was no way I would hurt anypony, unless they hurt me. It just wasn't my nature, I was protective over my friends and family yes, but I wouldn't take to fighting unless it was the last option. "You still there Sargast?" She said, a little worry in her voice, she may have thought I had just randomly died once and for all. Heh, wouldn't that be funny, I could just imagine the look on her face. "Yeah, I was just thinking." I said to her. "So anyways there were six corridors, and each of them had a tapestry of a cutie mark of one of the bearers of the elements above the doorway. The voice then said that it the time was soon coming. Something about me making a choice?" "This is troubling, I must tell this to my sister, but for now you can go. I will send for you after we have finished going through all of our past enemies, to see if one of them is a match to the one you described." "Really, you can do that. All I gave you was a deep booming voice and you can tell which baddie it is just from that?" I said. "No, based on the description of the place. Different villains have different ways of doing evil, this one seems to like to use riddles and foreshadowing." Luna said, chuckling a bit. "If we could tell villains by their voice we would have no crime in Equestria." "How do you know he's foreshadowing?" I asked. "Well normally this is exactly what a villain would do the mess with the mind of the pony who would be his greatest adversity." She replied. "I think he is just doing this stuff to buck with my mind, to expect something like that. Then the villain would strike as I was freaked out about some dumb as buck choice that the made up so I would lower my guard. You ever think of that?" "No I didn't, and I doubt that he did either. I'm glad you're on our side." She said to me. *** I looked into my safe, there were only a few bits in there. I was broke, so I needed a job. Fast, an idea sprung to mind, I would be the best stunt double, ever. I walked over the train station with the few bits that I still had left, and bought a ticket to Ponywood. This is going to be fun. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part four. //-------------------------------------------------------// Part four. I looked around as I got off the train, in Ponywood. "There are so many things to do!" I thought. "No, I must do what I came here for first. There's no way anypony would turn me down as a stunt double! I could actually die in death scenes! I could do anything without a fear of imminent death!." I walked down the street to an information center. "Hello,do you know if there is anypony looking for a stunt double here?" I asked the mare behind the counter. "Yes in fact I do!" She replied, I could hear the fake happiness. "Here is a list!" She smiled weakly as she handed me the sheet. "Thank you very much." I said to her. The first place on the list was not far from where I was. "Hmm, I wonder what movie they're doing." I thought to myself as I stepped onto the street trolley. *** "Now I am only looking for the BEST stunt actors. You need to be able to fall from heights that would kill a pony, and land on a mat. You need to be able to stay in character, throw hits and take hits too!" Said the director. "Now, which of you mares think you're ready?" He grinned, I grinned too. "First station, all of you. Well all of you that are still up to it." We all walked over to the building falling area, leaving a small group behind. I the last one in line, oh well, save the best for last! I heard a scream as a stallion jumped from the four story platform. He landed on the mat with a large WUMP! "That was AWESOME!" He yelled after getting off the mat. This was repeated until one stallion got up to the top of the ladder, looked over the edge and then climbed down, shaking slightly. As he walked away I gave him a pat on the back. "Nice try man, heights weren't really my thing either for a while." He looked at me and perked up a bit. Finally it was my turn, I climbed the ladder without fear or hesitation. I looked down once at the top and yelled down. "Take away the mat!" "What? Son are you nuts? This fall will kill you!" Came the reply. "Trust me, it won't." I yelled back. "Fine, you signed the waiver right?" He asked, he seemed more interested about his bits than my life. "Yes!" I called to him. He shrugged and made a motion to the ponies next to him, who then ran over and took the mat away. Looking down I took a deep breath and jumped, I could hear the wind whistling past my ears. The I hit the ground with a large crack. "Well then, that was a tad bit suicidal." I heard the director say. "Yeah, too bad I don't die!" I said to him, standing up. The director spit out a mouthful of coffee and jumped out of his chair. "What the buck? You just got flattened! How are you alive!" He yelled, obviously confused. "Like I said, I don't die." I replied, a smirk grew on my face as a smile grew on his. "What's your name son?" He asked me. "Sargast, Sargast Everdeath." I told him. "Well Sargast, let's talk about that new job of yours." I jumped for joy while pumping my hoof. "I was in!" *** Twilight was going through her mythology books, looking for any type of sign that the villain that Sargast described was in there, when there was a knock at her door. "Come in!" She yelled. "Hey Twilight." Rainbowdash said. "Hi Rainbow." Twilight replied to the cyan mare. "Have you seen Sargast anywhere? I need to ask him about something." She asked Dash. "Yeah I've seen him, and you aren't gonna believe where." Rainbow said as she laid a magazine down on Twilight's table. The alicorn looked at it. "Rainbow I thought I told you that everything in those tabloids were fake." Twilight said accusingly. "Yeah I know, but I didn't buy it for the gossip." Rainbow proclaimed. "Then why did you buy it?" Twilight asked her rainbow-maned friend. "Somepony we know got famous quick." Rainbow said through a chuckle. "Who, Rarity?" Twilight asked as she turned around to look at the magazine, seeing the cover she gasped. "Sargast! But how? What?" Twilight was confused, every time anypony learned about his ability they would run away. She read the cover out loud. "Sargast Everdeath, the greatest stunt double ever." Twilight smiled, stunt double of course! He wasn't able to die so he would be able to do any type of stunt! "Hey Twilight." Rainbow said. "Yes Rainbow?" Twilight replied. "I think Ponyville is gonna get very crowded, very soon." Rainbow and Twilight giggled, first when Twilight had become an alicorn the paparazzi never left her alone for two weeks. As well Ponyville became extremely crowded as ponies from all across Equestria flooded in to see their new princess. With Sargast now famous Ponyville will be more crowded than ever, as well Twilight wouldn't get a moments peace, ponies would soon be asking her questions on her opinion of Sargast's abilities. Or maybe on the stallion himself! "Well then Rainbow, best we enjoy the peace while it lasts." Twilight said. *** Sargast was not the pony to become annoyed with other ponies, but these stupid camera ponies were getting on his nerves. They followed him anywhere he went, and watched his every move, waiting for an opportunity to get some dirt on him or just to get an interview. Sargast was just about to walk through the door to his temporary home when a reporter jumped in front of him. "Hello Sargast, my name is Close Up! I would like to get an interview with you, if it's alright. I looked at the mare and smiled warmly. "Since you asked me first sure, come on in." I said to her as I opened my door. Once we were situated inside she started asking questions. "What do you think of your powers?" She asked, putting on her interviewer voice. "Well to tell the truth, at first I thought they were quite the pain in the ass. It not only gave me immunity to death but it made me prone to death, it gave me terrible luck to say the least. But now that I finally can use them for something other than getting up after being hit by a train I feel that they are pretty awesome." "What first made you think of using your powers for this?" "Well, I was flat broke, and I needed some kind of income. I was thinking of jobs when I decided to turn on the T.V. The first commercial that came on was a stunt double training ad. I also really found movie deaths unrealistic and really fake looking, so I thought, what if the pony actually died? So I grabbed the last few bits I had and came here, Ponywood." "Uh-huh. How do you think your family feels about your powers." I winced at this question, but decided to answer. "My parents are dead, and I was an only foal." I said gravely. "Oh, I'm so sorry for asking." She made a movement with one of her hooves and the camera stopped rolling. "This isn't live, I can edit that part out if you want me to." I smiled at her sincerity. "No it's fine, that little bit there should top the boards for a week at the least." We both laughed. "Thank you for your time Mr. Sargast." She said. "Just call me Sargast, I hate being formal and fancy." We both laughed again. "Okay Sargast thank you for the wonderful interview." She said as both she and her camera crew left. *** The studio was abuzz with excitement, for the movie release date was only a day away. They had already sent the movie away to the critics, and they had loved it! Three groups have us four out of five stars, and two gave us five out of five. The director walked up to me and said. "It's all because of you." I was confused at first, but he explained further. "The critics loved all of the stunts, they said they could all see the ponies face, full of emotion, as if he was actually doing the stunt in real life." We both chuckled. He continued. "If you hadn't come along the movie wouldn't have been nearly as good. That's why I put your name on the main cast list's." I looked at him in disbelief. "But I'm only a stunt double! The actual actors did most of the work!" I said to him. "That may be true but you did just as much as they did, I don't think they would willingly jump off a building without a mat below. I don't see any of them willingly being shot for an action scene?" He said to me. Then he spoke the killer. "I want you to be an actual actor in the sequel." I was stunned. "Me? An actor?" I said to him shocked. "Yep, you'll be the best of the best pal, I can see it in your eyes." He said to me while playfully punching me. *** Rarity was floored when she saw the interview with Sargast. "Sargast, got an interview with Close Up?!" Rarity pouted a little. "Rarity y'all should be proud of Sargast, it looks like he finally found his calling." Applejack said to her. "I know but I have wanted to get interviewed by her for years!" Rarity complained on like that for another few minutes. Twilight had also seen the interview, but was troubled by something other than Rarity complaining. "He never told any of us that his parents were dead." She said aloud, so everypony could hear her. They all turned to her and listened intently. "Why would he tell her if he wouldn't tell us?" "Well maybe he didn't want to make us pity him or start weighing him down with comments of oh I am so sorry about your parents!" Rainbowdash said, the girls all looked at her. They weren't used to her being a fountain of good advice and deeper thought. "What? I can't have an opinion other than going and kicking somepony's flank or quick accusations." "Sorry Rainbowdash." The girls said in sync. "Its alright." She said. "I think you're right Rainbow." Twilight said. "Well of course I'm right." Rainbow. "Maybe he didn't want us to know so we wouldn't bring it up all the time with our sorry's." Twilight concluded. All of the girls nodded in agreement. "So when he gets back don't bring it up, unless he does." They all nodded again. "Good." //-------------------------------------------------------// Cinq! (5 in french) //-------------------------------------------------------// Cinq! (5 in french) It was quite stormy out as I got onto the train, leaving for Ponyville. The movie had been a complete success, the ratings were off the charts and it had made eight hundred thousand bits in the first week alone, in the second they had about five million bits to roll in! The writers had starting thinking up ideas for a sequel so we all gave the directors ways so we could be contacted when he needs us again, then we all went our separate ways, with our own separate groups of fans and paparazzi. I sat in the normal train seating, just because I was now rich and famous doesn't mean I need to act like I am. "OHMYGOSH!" A mare screamed as I stepped onto the train. "Can I have your autograph?" I was confused for a bit, sure I was famous, but I was only a stunt double in this movie, or at least until the end where I actually showed up as myself,no transformation magic to make me look like somepony else. I got only one line though, I would appear from nowhere after the main characters of this movie had called for a certain pony to help them in the beginning. I would then say "You called?" Then the movie would end. "Uhh, sure." I said to the mare while taking the pen and flip book. I had no real signature and had never practiced one, so I just decided to write my first and last name really fancy. "OHMYGOSH THANKS!"The mare said to me, looking at the flip book I had just given back to her. "No problem!" I replied with a smile on my face. *** I took in a breath of the fresh air of Ponyville, it was clean, no smell of pollution or sounds of rushing ponies. Everything here seemed at peace, it was serene. I started walking back to my home when out of nowhere Pinkie sprang out in front of me firing off random questions. "Hi Sargast! Did you miss us? Did you have fun? Why didn't you tell us abou-" She stopped before she finished her question, but not before I knew what she was going to ask me. "Sorry." She bowed her head, her mane starting to deflate, so I act as if I had no idea what she was going to ask to cheer her up. "Hi Pinkie!" I said to her, and she looked up at me and her mane started to inflate again. "I missed you girls a lot." I looked around to each of them. "It was certainly different not having you around." That part was true, even though they could get on my nerves at times, they had grown on me and not having Pinkiepie around to give me my daily dose of random physics defying confusion life had gotten kinda bland. I mean sure having the ability to be a stunt double was fun and all but it eventually boiled down to me getting magically transformed into another actor, getting up into the scene, and then I would get shot, hung, stabbed, thrown off of a building or even choked. Having Pinkiepie back was defiantly going to make my days seem a little less repetitive. "So mister movie star, what are you going to do now?" Rainbowdash said with a smirk. "Well I feel like avoiding death for a while, and I think getting away from huge crowds will do wonders for my patients." I chuckled. Once I was situated at home I went out to the local store and bought three more safes to store my money. Turns out there is rich tax at the town bank so keeping it at my house was ideal for me. Then a thought hit me. "Why hadn't I told them that I was an orphan?" I sat on my bed and thought about it. I decided to tell them all the full story, my full story. *** We were all sitting in my living room, looking quite awkward until I finally broke the ice. "I'm sorry for not telling you about my past before." "It's okay. It isn't easy for you to tell someone about something sad in your past, trust me I know." Pinkie said. All the girls turned to look at her. "Uhh, Pinkie, you never told us anything sad from your past." Rainbowdash said. "Sure I have, I did tell you about the rock farm didn't I?" Pinkie replied. "Oh, right." Rainbow said. "So anyways i'll tell you my past, although you may not like what you hear." I said solemnly. I began to tell them my life story, all the sad parts as well as the happy parts. At the part where my old friend died I saw a couple of them wince a little but overall they seemed to understand completely. "Wow, thanks for telling us." Twilight said to me. "I am sorry for your loss." "Yeah, I guess I just forgot to tell you all. One thing though, don't go around saying that you're sorry for my loss every time you see me. Act like you normally would." They all nodded their heads in unison. Rainbowdash finally asked the question that was on all of the girls minds. "So is your special talent coming back from the dead, or causing other ponies to die?" She asked me. "I truthfully don't know. I said to her. "But I am pretty sure that it is because I come back from the dead." The girls still looked a little nervous around me but they seemed a little more at ease. I looked outside, it was now late. The girls noticed too, and all gave brisk goodbyes before departing. I drank a glass of water and then went upstairs into my room and crawled into my bed. *** "Hello again Sargast." I looked around, I was in a windowless room. The only things inside were a door, me, and a large throne. Upon closer inspection I saw the throne was made out of bones, pony bones. "The time for you to play your part draws ever closer. What will you choose. Who will you choo-." I cut off the deep voice with my own questions. "Who the freaking hay are you? Why the frig are you screwing with my mind?" I yelled angrily. "No need for anger Sargast, you will know soon enough." The voice boomed. My surroundings were turning into fog. "Oh no, not this time." I growled. "If there was ever a time to defy all of logic and physics now is that time. "NO!" I yelled at the approaching fog. It stopped about five feet from me. "You listen up you stupid piece of donkey crap! I am not going to fall for any of you stupid evil plans or schemes. I am gonna hunt you down!" Then the fog started to roll in around my hooves. I woke up, thrashing in my bed. "Another stupid nightmare, what the buck is up with this stupid choice of mine." I decided to go back to the castle and tell the princesses about my latest clue. *** "What did you say the throne was made out of?" Luna asked, of all of the story she seemed the most interested in that. "It was made out of pony bones, why? Does that mean anything to you?" I asked her. "Oh no, if I am correct, and I hope I am not. All of these clues point to only one being. A necromancer." She replied. "A necromancer, as in bring the dead back to life necromancer." I asked her, stunned. If the stories about necromancers he had been told as a foal were true, these were ruthless gods with the power to summon an army of dead ponies with ease. They didn't even have to be unicorns. They could be pegasi or earth ponies too, they would just have to use a staff crafted in the forges of the hottest volcano in all of Equestria. Luna sighed. "Sargast there is only one type of necromancer." She said to me. "Well that would explain his interest in me." I said to her, she seemed confused. "Well either he is the one bringing me back every time I die, or I can do it all by myself and he wants to use my powers for evil." "Hmm, this I must consider." Luna replied to me. "If you have any more dreams like this you have to come to me immediately." I left the castle after that. "A necromancer!" I said to myself. "How could I have gotten the attention of one of those?" I looked down the long road leading from the castle. I took to the skies and flew back to Ponyville. *** "A necromancer?" The girls said in unison, they were good at that. We were all standing in the throne room of Princess Celestia. "Yes girls, and Sargast."She said glancing over at me. She had been treating me differently today, not the usual we will find a way to help you type of attitude. She seemed worried about me, who wouldn't, I could the time bomb that the necromancer was looking for. "A necromancer, and we have identified him. His name is Stronghorn Deadriser, and he is extremely powerful. That is why I have chosen you seven to go on a quest to put an end to his plan before it even starts. It will be a long journey, so take anything you may not want to be without for a long period of time." It was then that Luna walked in. "Sister, I have finished the map!" She said, she seemed happier than usual. "Ah, thank you dear sister." Celestia said to her sister warmly, taking the scroll from her extended hoof. "I have also finished preparing for the quest!" Luna continued. "Ah yes, Luna will be accompanying you. She will help you along the way and keep you on track. As well she will be guiding you to the stronghold of Deadriser." Celestia said, turning to us. "I suggest you go and prepare right now." She then finished up the meeting and we all departed to get our belongings together. *** I turned the key in the lock, hearing it click open I opened up the cabinet. Inside was a sheathed sword, taking it out and unsheathing it I saw the blade was still sharp. I looked it over, a perfectly crafted hoof and a half sword, sharp enough to cut through flesh and bone with a flick of the wrist. Re-sheathing it I strapped it over myself, it was quite light, the heaviest thing being my heavy-duty saddle bag.I took one last look at my home before I headed off to the edge of the Everfree forest, where our quest would begin. //-------------------------------------------------------// 12 divided by two equals part six //-------------------------------------------------------// 12 divided by two equals part six Luna, the bearers of the elements of harmony and myself were stood in a circle, discussing our plan. So far we had get to the stronghold, then defeat the necromancer. I know, awesome plan right! So after that riveting course of action we all picked up our bags and stepped into the Everfree, taking the first step of a long journey. "Do we have to go through the E-Everfree forest?" Fluttershy asked us. "Yes Fluttershy, it is the only route to get to the Barren Lands." I said to her. The Barren Lands were a uncharted, desolate wasteland of nothing but sandstone and heat. On the other side of that was the Fiery Fields, a vast plain of lava and volcanoes, this was all shaping up to be a freaking storybook type quest. Fluttershy slowed her flying down a bit and fell into line with me, she looked a little more calm than before. I guess flying next to a pony who knew how to use a giant double edged broadsword would do that. "Fluttershy you have nothing to worry about!" Rainbowdash said to her. "With Princess Luna around nothing will get even near us." Fluttershy then finally seemed to calm down completely. We walked without incident for the whole day, and we made good progress too. We had walked almost a quarter of the way through the forest in one day, with progress like this we would be done in no time. We stopped at the face of a cliff and started to set up camp. "Why are we setting up next to a mountain?" Twilight asked me. "So we only have to guard one direction." I said to her. *** I could hear the group snoring softly in their tents. We had decided to have two per tent, Rainbowdash and Fluttershy, Twilight and Pinkiepie, Applejack and Rarity and last but not least, me and Luna. Really it was just myself as Luna sat outside all night on guard, I felt like going out as well for I couldn't sleep, but I had decided not to for one reason. I was not at all well rested, sure I put on a energetic attitude for the rest of the group, but I could never get to sleep. I would always be kept up all night either plagued by nightmares of my past, or trying to remember the lost bits. I could remember going back to the orphanage after my friend Flip had died, but after that everything was gone up until about four years later. From what ponies told me I pieced together that somepony adopted me, but must have used a memory erasing spell on me then dumped me somewhere where nopony would find me. Those lost pieces of my life haunted me, what had happened? I shuddered as a cold wind blew in underneath the tarp that was the door. I closed my eyes and tried to get to sleep. *** I woke up with the sun on my face, this was the first night in a week that I had gotten any rest and I was grateful, it was amazing how much eight hours of sleep could rejuvenate a pony! I was full of energy, good thing too for the rest of the ponies seemed quite tired. "Come on ponies! Perk up!" I said with a grin on my face. "How can you be so full of energy?" Rarity whined "I never even got three hours of my usual beauty sleep!" "Well you're going to have to get used to it." Luna said to her. "Any trouble last night?" I asked Luna. "No, but this troubles me." the princess of the night replied "I was expecting to at least see something." "Maybe the animals know we're gonna kick their buts!" Rainbowdash exclaimed. "No Rainbow, something is really wrong here." I said to her. "Anypony else smell that?" asked Applejack. We all took a whiff of the air, it reeked. "That smells like..." I gulped "timberwolf breath." I drew my sword and stood ready for a fight, menacing yellow eyes had sprung up all around us. "They have us surrounded!" I shouted. "That is not possible! I would have noticed them!" Luna yelled to me. "Well you better believe it cause here they come!" I growled. The wolves started howling, their razor sharp teeth showing, then they charged. The first wolf jumped at me and I swung my sword, taking it's head off in one clean swipe. All around us wolves were charging our camp, I danced around them, swinging my sword like a madpony, looking back on the carnage I had wrought on their numbers I smiled. A scream erupted from behind me, I whirled around to see Fluttershy get tackled to the ground. I threw my sword like a spear, stabbing the wolf on it's right side. The wolf jumped off Fluttershy and charged me, I was now weaponless so I back kicked it in the head, hearing branches snap I turned around and let off a volley of punches. The wolf stumbled back from me with the entire right side of it's face crushed. Although we were putting up a good fight we were quickly being overwhelmed, I formed a plan. I looked over to Twilight, who had just finished shooting a ball of raw magic from her horn, I flew over to her. "Twilight!" I said as I landed next to her. "Do you know any fire spells?" "I learned a couple while we were preparing." She said to me. "Okay, I need you to grab somepony who doesn't have wings, we need to get off the ground." I said to her. "Why?" She asked me, then she realized what I wanted her to do. "Got it!" I flew over to Rainbowdash and told her what to do, then she went and told Luna and Fluttershy. "Okay!" I yelled. "NOW!" I flew over and picked up Applejack, who was closest, Twilight grabbed Rarity and took to the sky with me. Looking around I could see that Luna had Pinkie and Rainbow was flying next to Fluttershy. Twilight's horn lit up as she concentrated on the ground below, she closed her eyes and a wall of flames rocketed out of her horn. The wolves below started howling like crazy as they burned. With another blast of magic Twilight put the fire out, we all descended putting the wingless ponies on the ground. "Woo-wee that was some good thinking there Twilight!" Applejack said. "Yeah that was AWESOME!" Rainbowdash said to Twilight. "It was Sargast that came up with the plan." Twilight said. "Yeah but you did the magic." I said to the purple alicorn. "Good job both of you." Luna said to me and Twilight. "It was both of working together that saved us." I nodded, but my vision suddenly went blurry and I collapsed. "Ah yes, good show Sargast! Good show! You have fended off my first attack, truthfully I would have been very disappointed in you if you had failed and everypony died." A deep voice said. I looked around, I was in that throne room again, and I was still alone. "Why don't you show your ugly face?" I yelled to the voice. "I know who you are!" "Oh do you now, tell me, who am I?" "You're Stronghorn Deadriser! You're a necromancer!" I said to him. "Oh, I had thought you had figured out why i'm interested in you!" He said with a chuckle. "Well Sargast it appears your friends are starting to believe you are really dead, silly little ponies aren't they." The dream ended instantly. "Sargast! You're awake!" Twilight said. "I was beginning to think you died!" "Deadriser spoke to me again, he said that there would be more attacks like this." I said to the group. "Well we knew that already!" Rainbow said. "How come he can't tell you anything useful?"` "He also knew that you were shaking me, that must mean he is watching us." I said. "Or that somepony is a traitor!" Pinkie said, putting a hoof to my chest. "Pinkie if I was a traitor you would all be dead by now." I said to her flatly. "Or that you are waiting for the perfect moment to strike! I'm watching you." She said to me. I sighed, Pinkie was gonna be Pinkie and there was no changing that. "So how do you think he's watching us?" Rainbowdash asked me. "Or how is he getting letters from you?" Pinkie butted in. "Well Rainbow, he could have a connection with the animals around here, I wouldn't be surprised if he made some of them." I said to the rainbow-maned pegasus. Pinkie was about to speak again when Twilight put her hoof over Pinkie's mouth, blocking her from talking. "Pinkie! Sargast is not a traitor! Now let's get moving." Twilight said, removing her hoof from her friends mouth. Pinkie still kept looking over at me as we walked though, I think she was trying to give me the evil eye. *** We only got a little walking in before the sun set and Luna brought up the moon, this time we had to camp in the open. Both me and Luna were guarding tonight, I wasn't there because I had to be, I was guarding because I was now paranoid of impending attacks. Every ten minutes I would get up and do a perimeter check of the camp to see if anything had snuck up on us in the dark. After about twenty of my rounds Luna finally said to me "Stop, go back to our tent and get some rest Sargast, we have a lot of ground to cover tomorrow." "No, i'm fine I can go without rest for a month." I said to her without even looking over at her. I heard her stand up and walk over to me. "I do not doubt you one bit on that, but you have been going without rest for over two months, ever since that first nightmare you had I have only sensed your dreams five times. You have only slept five times in the past two months, you need to get some sleep." She said to me. "I said I wasn't going back to the tent and i'm not. It's time to do a perimeter check." I said to her, hiding my tired eyes from her view. "Sargast listen to me-" I cut her off. "NO! You listen to me! The damn reason why I haven't slept is because I have been too damn scared that I would have to watch my parents die again! Every time I go to sleep I see them burning! You just can't unsee something like that!" Tears were forming in my eyes. "A foal shouldn't have to hear that their parents are dead from a police officer! A foal shouldn't have to see his only friend die! I shouldn't have to spend every waking moment of my life thinking of what I could have done different, thinking of how I could have saved them!" I looked at Luna. "The reason why I came to you that day was not because I hated the pain of dying, it was because I didn't want to live anymore. If you had taken away my ability to come back from the dead I would have killed myself, to end the pain of horrible memories that are dealing death blows to me every moment I am still alive." Luna looked at me, I guess none of them really had thought of the emotional turmoil I had felt inside. I saw her horn light up softly, I started feeling really drowsy. "What'ss going onnn?" I was so tired my words were coming out slurred as if I were drunk. I closed my eyes, and never opened them until the morning. *** I woke up disoriented inside of my tent. "What the hay?" I whispered to myself. "Wasn't I outside?" Then it all came rushing back to me. I got up and stumbled out of my tent, maybe I was drunk, I sure looked the part from the way I was walking. The girls were outside having breakfast, they had toasted some bread over a fire and were having toasted hay sandwiches. "Good morning lazy butt!" Rainbowdash said to me. "Took you long enough!" "Huh?" I was still walking off my sleepiness so it came out more like "Hureshjif" but they understood. "We had enough time to get wood for our fire, start it and toast a loaf of bread before you woke up." Rainbow said. "Oh." I replied. "Don't worry we saved some for you." She said to me with a smile. I walked over to the fire and sat down on one of the logs that they had pulled up. I picked up a sandwich and wolfed it down, reaching for another I saw them staring at me. "What?" I asked. "Well you normally only eat half a sandwich, in fact you normally are the first one awake. What's gotten into you darling?" Rarity asked me. "Yeah, ya'll feelin alright sugarcube?" Applejack asked while watching me pick up a third sandwich. "Don't worry i'm fine!" I said after swallowing the first bite of my sandwich. I took another bite. "Last night I-" I paused, I didn't want to ruin their good morning with my sob story. "I got to bed much earlier than I usually do, so I guess the past couple of weeks finally caught up with me and made me fall asleep for much longer so my energy could be kept up. The eating is probably for the same reason." They all nodded, except for Luna who frowned a little. I could just hear her say. "Why do you not speak the truth Sargast? I talk really funny and I grew from the size of a normal pony to the size of my sister in the time frame of when Nightmare Moon was defeated to Nightmare Night! I always get my way with my subjects because I yell at them really loud! I am a stupid royal bi-" "Uhh, Sargast? You there?" Rainbow was waving a hoof in front of my face, I realized I had been smiling like an idiot while making fun of Luna in my mind. I shook my head as if to throw the silliness out of my brain, I then put on a serious face and said. "Come on lets get moving before we waste too much time." And with that we packed up and moved out, walking the entire day, moving ever closer to the next leg of our journey. //-------------------------------------------------------// Hey! I made it to part seven! //-------------------------------------------------------// Hey! I made it to part seven! We walked on without incident for the next two days, making it to the Barren Lands. This stretch of land was much larger than the forest, and would take two weeks to make it to the other side, that is if we weren't interrupted by anything. "Can we stop and take a break? My hooves are hurting!" Rarity whined. "Sure! And then we can stop at a food stand and get iced coffee!" I said to her, clearly displaying how annoyed I was with her, she had been whining like this for the past hour. "Hmmph, well I thought you were above using sarcasm Sargast." She said to me. "I thought you were above whining like a foal!" I said to her. "Now shut up and come on!" The heat and continuous walking was getting on everypony's nerves, not to mention Rarity's whining. "My word! Do you have any idea how to speak to a lady!" She said to me. "I do Rarity. It's just I don't think you qualify as a lady! I think you're just a stuck-up bi-" I was cut off by Applejack. "How about we take a break ya'll? I think we all need one." She seemed to direct the last part at me. We sat down and pulled out our water bottles, they were almost empty. "Rainbow, next time we stop can you fly around and try to find some rain clouds? We can use the water to fill our bottles up." Luna said to the cyan pegasus. "Okay!" Rainbowdash seemed to be the only one that hadn't turned into a complete asshole. "Will Rarity need a cloud for herself so she can rest her aching hooves?" Never mind, we're all complete assholes. *** We set up our tents under a small rock overhang, sure it wasn't safe but nopony would be able to get to sleep without the shade cooling us off. Yes, even during the night this place was like an oven. "I'll keep guard tonight, Luna you need some rest." I said to the princess of the night. "Sargast, I don't sleep. Princess of the night remember?" Luna said back to me. "Right." I said through my mega face-hoof. Luna walked out of our tent leaving me alone. Ever since that night where Luna cast that spell on me I have been falling to sleep quite easily, so it wasn't a surprise when I drifted off into dreamland faster than I usually did. "Where am I?" I asked myself looking around. I looked to be back in Ponyville, and everything seemed to be normal. I decided to walk around and see what was messed up, cause knowing my dreams well meant knowing that nothing normal ever happened in them, ever. I checked everywhere, everything seemed normal, so I decided to talk with the dream ponies. "Hi Pinkie, how are you doing?" I asked the pink mare. "CUPCAKES! RAWR!" She yelled at me. Well there we have it, the messed up part. "C IS FOR CUPCAKE AND CUPCAKE IS FOR ME!" "Jeez Pinkie! Stop yelling!" A deep voice boomed. "Oh, hey Deadriser, what's up?" I said casually. "Oh nothing much, other than the attack that is happening right now! It really sucks for you how you can't wake up until I want you to doesn't it?" He said to me. "What? Attack! What the fu-" He cut me off. "No swearing Sargast! I thought you would know that by now! Oh yes, by the way. If you try to wake up before I want you to I will fry your brain, making you fall back to sleep. So i'd suggest you don't do that." He laughed. "Try this!" I yelled at him. This was my dream, so flying kittens counted as lethal weapons. "What in the name of-" The first cat disappeared into the sky, an explosion followed it. "Okay! I will wake you up! This hurts my brain!" My eyes opened to Fluttershy shaking me, I could hear screaming as well as lots of scuttling. "What the hell is going on!" I yelled. "We were attacked by giant scorpions!" She said to me, she was shaking like crazy. "You stay here, it's time to kick some tail." I said to her, pulling my sword out of it's sheath. I ran out of the tent yelling random one-liners and catch-phrases. The scorpions all turned to face me, I grinned a sadistic grin. "Its killing time!" I yelled and I ran at the group of insects. They charged as well, but as I chopped the first one's head and legs off, they started running. "Oh no! You get back here right now!" I yelled. I charged after them, killing five more before they escaped into the night. "Is everypony alright?" I asked, running back into camp. "Well Fluttershy fainted, and Pinkie seems to be acting like a normal pony, but other than that we're fine." Luna said to me. "How are you though? You look like a mass-murderer." "Yeah, I needed to blow off a little steam." I said. "A little steam? You ripped the tail off of one of them!" Rainbow said. "If that was blowing off steam i's hate to get in your way when you're angry." I chuckled a little. Then Fluttershy staggered out of my tent, took one look at the dead scorpion, and fainted again. I busted out laughing, this was ridiculous to me. "Fluttershy must have some tough time if she faints every time you girls get into battle!" I said, still laughing. Then Pinkie perked up, looked around at everypony, then said. "Pay up!" I was confused, why were the girls all giving Pinkie five bits? "What are you doing?" I asked them. "We made a bet that you couldn't laugh, Pinkie bet that you could." Rainbowdash said to me. This made me start laughing again. "Okay, we need to get our rest." Luna said to us. I realized it was around midnight. "In the morning i'm gonna teach you mares how to fight." I said to the group. They all nodded. //-------------------------------------------------------// eight. //-------------------------------------------------------// eight. I woke everypony up bright and early in the morning, I wanted to get started on training them for combat as quickly as possible. "Up and at-em everypony!" I yelled, hitting my sword off of a tent pole creating a loud metallic clanging. Rainbowdash groaned as she flew out of her tent, she was followed by Fluttershy. "Sargast I know we are learning how to fight today but come on! The sun only just came up!" She whined. "Yes darling! I need my beauty sleep!" Rarity complained as she stomped out of her tent. Twilight emerged from her tent right after. "Well Rarity, beauty isn't really our top priority right now." Twilight said as she stretched. "Well Twilight, not all of us like to get up at the crack of dawn." Rainbow said to the lavender alicorn. Twilight frowned at her. "Mornin gals!" Applejack said walking out of her tent. "Good morning everypony!" Pinkie yelled while bounding out behind Twilight, she wore a huge grin as she normally did. Luna was the last to arrive, she landed in the middle of the campsite. "Where were you princess Luna?" I asked her. "Weren't you supposed to be guarding?" "I just came back from chasing off a couple of curious tigers." She said to me. "Oh, okay then. Alright everypony today you are getting taught how to fight, both with empty hoof and with weapons. But first things first, lets eat." I declared. They all seemed to enjoy this idea of food because they all rushed in around the campfire, looking at me as I got the food bag out of my tent. *** After eating a hearty breakfast of sandwiches and apple juice, we cleaned up and I drew a circle around the middle of the campsite. "This will be the fighting ring, self explanatory no? So to start things off I am going to see how well you mares can fight, I will base my teachings off of this. Me and Lu-" I was cut off as a strong kick connected with my jaw. I looked up to see Luna standing a few feet from me with a smug smile on her face. "You were inside the fighting ring, were you not?" She said to me. We all laughed, after I popped my jaw back into place of course. Luna now stood in an offensive stance, so I struck up a defensive stance. "I'll go easy on you." She said to me. "Don't, I wanna see how you fight." I said back. "Are you sure Sargast? I have fought in many wars." She said. "Yeah, don't underestimate your opponent though." I replied. "Come at me." She took to the skies, gaining a considerable amount of height. She then dived down at me, readying a punch. "A hit like that would instantly kill me." I thought. "I better not be there than." At the last second I jumped out of her way, she flared her wings out but still landed hard. I then swiftly advanced on her and started firing off punches, she blocked each one and countered with a strong hit to my stomach. I decided to use a different tactic, and if this didn't work I would be screwed. I stood perfectly still, watching her every movement. I focused on her and zoned out on everything else, I could hear her heart beating at a steady pace. I saw as her right side tensed up, indicating that a punch was coming, knowing this I grabbed her hoof and yanked her towards me. Fast as lightning I whirled around and gave her a back kick to the face. I feared for a second that I had broken her nose or something and paused for a bit, spinning back around slowly. I was met with a face-full of hoof as she punched me in the nose, I saw blood hit the ground notifying me that my nose had broken. It was on now. She charged me as I got up and let off a volley of punches, I took a beating but saw my chance and took it. I leaped forward and punched her in the gut, continuing I pushed her to the ground knocking the wind out of her. I took this moment to punch repeatedly, hammering her with hit after hit. I got up and stood at the ready in case she tried anything. "Good job Sargast." She said standing up, brushing the dust off her coat. She seemed fine, though on the other hand I seemed to be missing a few teeth, my nose was still bleeding but I really didn't care, a quick death would fix me right up. "Nopony has ever gotten so close to winning." "What are you talking about, I won!" I exclaimed. "No, you didn't, I held off, I could have killed you around five times if I felt like it." She said to me. "I told you not to hold back." I said to her. "Well I decided to anyways." She said back to me. I suddenly remembered why we fought in the first place. I looked over to see four of the ponies now arguing too. "Princess Luna could have killed him five times, I saw it!" Twilight said to Rainbowdash. "Yeah well Sargast could have totally taken her if he hadn't have stopped hitting her while she was on the ground." Rainbowdash argued back. "I am siding with Twilight on this one! Luna won and you both know it!" Rarity said to Applejack and Rainbowdash. "Well ya'll need to get your sight checked sugarcube, cause I saw both times where Sargast held off because the princess can't just come back from the dead!" Applejack said to Twilight and Rarity. Pinkie and Fluttershy seemed to be playing rock, paper scissors off to the left. "Hey! Hey! BREAK IT UP!" I yelled at them. They all turned to me, their faces red. "Jeez I thought you mares didn't argue a lot! Anyways that is fighting, so who's next?" "You aren't tired?" Twilight asked me. "Nope." I said. "Me next!" Rainbow said. "Well since your bones aren't super strong like Luna's I will put pillows on my hooves." I said, walking into my tent looking for some pillows. I came back to see Applejack and Rainbow standing in the ring together. "We decided to tag-team you, since we are just beginners." Rainbow said as she shared a sly smile with Applejack. "Okay, I can take both of you." I said to them, stepping into the ring. Then I heard something, a small high-pitched sound. Like a mouse dying, I perked my ears up, listening. Then the sound intensified quickly, turning from a small sound to a bell ringing in my ears. My brain felt like it was burning, I fell to the ground, holding my hooves to my ears. A small, choked scream escaped my throat. //-------------------------------------------------------// 9. //-------------------------------------------------------// 9. The high-pitched noise continued, causing my ears to bleed. But that was not the only thing, it was melting my brain, it acted like a hard reset bringing up old memories then destroying them, erasing them from my mind completely. I let out another scream of pain, then everything went silent, I could still feel my brain killing itself, so I concluded that I had gone deaf. The pain stopped next, I could see Twilight running over to me as Luna seemed to be kicking a rock. Then Luna reached down and picked up a small reptile from the rock, then everything went black as I died, but not before one especially horrible memory came up from the darkest pit of my mind. "Sargast! Sargast!" Twilight was shaking me, I was completely healed, mind and all. Well, except for one thing, that last memory. "Girls, get away from me!" I groaned, feeling that dark part of my mind taking over. "Sargast are you alright?" Twilight asked. "Trust me, run!" I said with a lot more force this time. Luna seemed to realize that something was seriously wrong, and told the girls to follow her. All of them ran after her, except for Twilight. I got up and yelled. "TWILIGHT GO! NOW!" She didn't budge. I could feel the past as it started to repeat itself. "Sargast I know I can help you!" She said to me. "Listen to me! You CANNOT help me with this, so help yourself and run!" I yelled at her. That stupid mare didn't budge, she was gonna get herself killed, by me. I shoved her away from me. "Twilight, if you don't run you are gonna die!" I grabbed my sword from it's sheath and made a motion to throw it away, but stopped mid-arc. "Oh no." I whispered. I felt my insane side taking over, pushing all common sense and knowledge of right and wrong to the back of my mind. "Hehehehehehehehehe, looks like some little filly should have listened to me!" I said, my voice adapting a higher pitch and a horrific grin appeared on my face. I lowered my sword and pointed it at Twilight. "You better run you silly filly. I wouldn't want you to ruin my fun!" "S-S-Sargast?" Twilight asked scared. "Hello, who iiiisss it! Oh its you! You're just in time." I said, my eyes were now red and bloodshot. "T-T-Time for what?" Twilight said to me, backing away slowly. I leaned in and whispered in her ear. "Killing time!" She turned and ran and I gave chase, laughing like a psycho-murderer, because I was. I lunged at her, missing. The sensible part of my mind fought for control. "Twilight run! Don't look back, come back little filly! I just want to DRINK YOUR BLOOD!" Twilight was now running for her life as I gave chase, swinging my sword, ready to kill anything in my path. "Swish swish swish! I'll gut you like a fish! Swing swing swing! I will feast on your wings!" I sang as I herded her into a dead-end canyon. "Is the little filly trapped? What a shame our game must end so soon." I said as I prepared to chop her head off. Her horn started to glow, as did I. "Don't you know? Magic doesn't work on me!" "It works on Sargast, and you seem to be him, so I don't see why not." She said as she prepared a simple death spell. "Sargast don't make me do this!" "What a shame such a young alicorn must die. Just kidding! You and your kind will drown in their own blood I will feast on their corpses, as I will do with your's." Twilight let loose the death spell, I fell to the ground, still breathing. "I'm sorry Sargast, I had to do it." She stepped towards my body. I sprung up and was about to swing my sword when I was knocked off my feet by a bolt of dark blue magic. "STEP AWAY FROM HER!" Luna yelled, using the royal equestian voice. I looked up to see her fly down and stab me in the stomach with her own sword. "It will take more than that to kill me, so it looks like I will get a double kill! Hahahah-" I was cut off by Luna yanking her sword out of my stomach and stabbing me in the face, three times. Twilight watched horrified as the fight slowly drained out of me. "Twilight, I told you to run." I said to her, my voice and eyes turning back to normal. I spat up a little blood. After that everything went black as I died. *** We were now all back at our last campsite, because of my stupid sadistic psychopathic murderer side we had made up no ground. "Sargast you should have told us about that!" Luna yelled at me. She seemed really pissed-off. "Well hey I didn't think that a brain-frying lizard would show up and push up those stupid memories again!" I yelled back. "Wait a minute, didn't you tell us all about you memories? Why didn't you turn into a monster then?" Rainbowdash asked. "Not the memories I told you, a different one. And before you all get mad at me I didn't tell you because I didn't want to risk going nuts. And monster is such a harsh word." I said to them. "You said you would kill all of us and eat our corpses." Twilight said flatly. "Oh, well than." I said. "I don't want to recount that cursed memory again, but I am gonna bury my sword, so that if I have a nightmare about it there is no chance that I could get a weapon. Not saying that if I have a nightmare that I will go crazy and try to kill all of you, but just in case ya' know." "I will watch your dreams, make sure that this nightmare does not happen." Luna said. With that all of us went into our tent to go to bed, after my sword was buried of course. I settled down in my bed and felt a presence in my mind, I soon fell asleep. I was standing in my old schoolyard, watching myself play in the sandbox, away from everypony else. I knew that this took place after my parents died, but before the event with Flip. Luna appeared beside me. "This seems like a nice enough dream." "Just wait, this is the nightmare." I said solemnly. We watched as I turned around to grab a stick that I was using to carve details into a sand castle that I made. Suddenly a bully walked over and kicked the sand castle, knocking sand into my eyes. "Well if it isn't the orphan!" He said to me, I only rubbed the sand out of my eyes and stared at him. "What killed them again? A fire? Well it probably wouldn't have happened if your parents weren't so stupid that they had their oven on!" He sneered. "Don't insult my parents!" I said to him, I knew this was getting to the point now. "Watch carefully Luna." I said to the princess, she nodded and looked on. "They insulted themselves! And you're just a chip off the old block, just like your parents. Stupid, ignorant and downright ugly!" He laughed, so he didn't notice me stand stand up, or my eyes turn red and bloodshot. I tackled him into the ground, pounding him with punch after punch. I broke his nose but didn't stop, I continued punching until Flip ran over and pulled me off him. I looked at my only friend and my eyes went back to normal, I started to tear up. "Get that monster away from me!" The bully shrieked as he backed away from me. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you!" I said to him, I was completely sincere and Flip knew it. The bully just got up and ran into the building. After a little while the teacher rushed out to find me in tears, crying on Flip's shoulder. "Sargast?" She said, her voice a mix of fear and pity. Flip looked over at her and made a small motion for her to go away, she obliged quickly and kindly. I turned to Luna. "That is what happened, my parents death's left me with more than emotional scarring, it left me with a mental scar that will never go away, it acts like a switch between normal me-" "And killer you." Luna finished for me, she looked at me. "Sargast, why did you stop when you looked at that foal?" "That foal is, or was Flip, my only friend. He died in a earthquake, right next to me." I said quietly. "I think the reason why I stopped is because Flip was a friend, somepony who I could trust, somepony who could help me through anything. I remember looking at him and seeing him as a focal point of peace, he made me calm down enough so the switch could flick back into normal mode." As I finished my dream changed. "What the hell?" "Oh Sargast you know me too well to not realize it is me! Or you did know me at least." Deadriser's deep voice boomed through the throne room of his dark stronghold. "Oh and hello Luna! How nice to see you" "What do you want now dude? Can't you see i'm in the middle of explaining a tragedy of my past?" I said to him casually. Luna looked at me. "Sargast? He is your enemy and you talk to him like he is a normal pony?" She asked me. "Why the hell not? Do you want me to refer to him as sir-douchebag?" I asked her. "Oh Sargast your entire life is a tragedy! Nothing will ever go right for you." Deadriser said to me. "Are you really trying to make me worried, or psyche me out? Dude you really should change your tactics, you seem to forget that I don't care, I know my life sucks and it always will. So I have decided to take my anger out on you! So when I find you I will tear you spine out and mutilate your corpse!" I said to him way too cheerfully. "Oh Sargast you really were the funny one, its such a shame that I will have to kill you so soon." He said. "Let me frigging guess, you have some kind of group of monsters in the real world that are supposed to kill us all." I said to him with a I-really-don't-care-anymore type attitude. "Bring it on." "No Sargast, not right now, but soon." He replied. "Don't tell me it is a soon as my choice cause that thing still hasn't come my way." I said to him. The dream then ended abruptly. My eyes opened, and I reached to the side of my cot for my sword, getting ready to fight whatever Deadriser sent our way. I realized quickly that there was no threat to our safety, as well as I had forgotten where I buried my sword. "Fuck my life." I muttered to myself, getting up off the cot. "Time to go sword hunting." //-------------------------------------------------------// ten! //-------------------------------------------------------// ten! It wasn't long until I found some disturbed dirt, showing me that my sword was buried there, I then decided to just train the girls when we got them weapons, for there were many forges in the Fiery Fields. "Okay everypony! Let's get going!" I yelled, waking all of them. I smiled, this was getting to be quite fun. "Sargast again! Can't you just let us rest in one day?" Rarity asked me. "You look well rested, so I have no idea what you are complaining about." I said to her, she looked ready to walk over and kick my head off when Applejack walked out of the tent and gave her a playful punch in the shoulder. "Listen sugarcube we won't git anywhere if we let you sleep in, Rarity." "Humph." Rarity grunted, then she walked over to Twilight's tent since she hadn't come out yet. "TWILIGHT DARLING WAKE UP! YOU TOO PINKIE!" She yelled. A yelp of surprise was heard from the tent. Twilight walked out, looking a little bit dazed, Pinkie on the other hoof was bounding out just like her usual self. Another groan could be heard when Rainbowdash flew out of her tent, stretching. "Come on Fluttershy, Sargast isn't going to kill you." She said, poking her head back into the tent. "Umm, okay." Fluttershy then flew out of the tent and landed quite close to Rainbow, watching me intently. I put a hoof to my forehead as Rainbow did the same. "Fluttershy do you really think I am going to kill you? I mean come on! I could have killed you easier if you were asleep, so why wake you up?" I said to her. She seemed to calm down a little but still kept her distance from me. "Lets get going." I said, walking out of the camp." "What about breakfast? And the tents?" Twilight called after me. I turned around and started walking back. "I knew that, I was just testing to see if you would remember, you passed." I said to her, she simply shook her head slowly. "Sargast if I wasn't here I swear you would leave your brain behind." Twilight remarked. "I have a brain?" I asked with mock surprise, this made Twilight shake her head again before saying. "Sargast, I don't believe you do." We both laughed, although the rest really seemed to be intent on eating. I walked over to my tent and pulled the food bag out. *** We had been walking for a few hours now, and Rarity was now getting quite whiny again. "Saaarrgast! I need a breaak!" She said to me, putting on puppy dog eyes. "Puppy dog eyes won't work on me." I said to her flatly. She opened her mouth to complain again but Twilight cut her off. "Why is that Sargast?" The lavender alicorn asked me. "Well first of all, I hate it when ponies bribe other ponies with fake sadness and tears. Second of all you need to actually have a good reason to use them, and most of the time ponies who use them don't." I answered her, she put a hoof to her chin thoughtfully. "Sargast, did your parents or friends use the puppy dog eyes a lot?" She asked me, making me stop dead in my tracks, I tried to keep a smile on my face as memories of Flip using puppy dog eyes on me countless times came back. "No, just for the two reasons I stated before." I lied, she saw through this though, but I guess she decided not to bring it up further. I started walking again and decided to try and find some clouds to get some shade. "Hey everypony i'm gonna look for some clouds, be right back." With that I took to the skies, leaving the group behind. I flew ahead of the group quite a ways and suddenly saw it, a huge volcano, standing taller than the rest. There was lava boiling over the top of it, flowing down the basalt mountain as it cooled in the air. "Wow, the Fiery Fields." I whispered to myself. I now was excited and flew back to the group. "No clouds?" Twilight asked me as I landed. "Didn't check, guess what." I asked them, happiness in my voice. "Ooohh! Ooohh! Is it that you found a cloud?" Pinkie asked me hopefully. "Nope, here is the good news, we are now starting to pass into the Fiery Fields, the last leg of our journey." I said to them. "Whats the bad news?" Applejack asked me. "Well it seems to be eruption season." I said to them, judging from the confused looks on their faces I guessed they had no idea what that meant. "Eruption season is when all of the many volcanoes littering the earth of the Fiery Fields are now erupting, spewing lava everywhere." I said. "Why would volcanoes litter?" Pinkie asked me. "They are mean volcanoes." I replied to her, getting me frowns from both Luna and Twilight, I shrugged. "So how are we gonna get through?" Rainbow asked "We can't fly through." "The entire ground isn't covered, just the majority of it." I said. "Oh well that is much better!" Rainbow said sarcastically. "In fact it is, nice observation." I said to her with a smug smile. I was such an asshole. *** "My goodness it is blistering hot here!" Rarity whined as we walked in between the lava flows. "I wonder why?" I said to her, sarcasm practically dripping from my voice. "I'm going to fly ahead and see if I can find us a forge, get you some weapons." "That sounds like a good idea." Luna said, knowing that I just wanted to leave before I threw Rarity into the lava to make her shut up. I flapped my wings and started to fly away when my vision started to blur. "Oh shit." I looked down, I was above lava, this was going to hurt. As the dream took me I dropped like a stone into the lava. "Hello Sargast how are you?" Deadriser asked me. "Screw you," I said to him grumpily. "you made me fall in the frigging lava." "I did, oops. Anyways just letting you know I sent a huge metal warrior to hunt you down and murder you all, tootles!" "What the buck?" The dream ended quite quick and I opened my eyes to see nothing but red, and I felt pain all around. "Holy bucking hell!" I tried to get out of the lava, getting closer each death. I finally crawled out and died again. "Stupid necromancer." I grumbled. "Sargast what happened?" Twilight rushed over while the rest of the group were laying Fluttershy down safely on the path, I guessed she fainted. "The stupid necromancer gave me one of those stupid dream things." I told her, I was really pissed-off so I probably said it to her in a angry tone but I didn't care, she wasn't the one who just burned to death ten times. "What did he say?" Applejack asked as she walked over. "Some giant metal warrior is now hunting us down to kill us, the usual." I said, really getting bored. "Lets get moving." "You don't seem all that scared Sargast." Luna said to me. "Well I don't think some stupid warrior would scare me more than falling into lava. Aw crap my sword melted." I said, looking at my back to see that the sheath wasn't there. "We should walk to a forge in case Stronghorn tries to mess with you again." Twilight said. "I could try Pinkie's cannon." I suggested with a shrug and a laugh. "Really, you would! Ohmygosh! I'll get it!" Pinkie then proceeded to pull a cannon out from behind a rock. "You know what, let's give this a shot." I said, then I looked over to see the rest of them shaking their heads vigorously. "When we are done the quest that is." "Okiedokielokie!" Pinkie said, throwing the cannon into the lava. *** We had been walking for what seemed like hours, looking for a forge and Pinkie was getting this strange song stuck in my head. "-but there's no use crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake!" Pinkie sang. Eventually she got all of us singing along, and we were all laughing at the lyrics since they made no sense at all. Then I spotted it, a small cave with a chimney coming out of it. "There!" I pointed at the opening. "No way am I going into there and getting my hooves and mane all dirty! I will just stay out he-" She was cut off by me picking her up and throwing her in. The rest of the girls all looked at me. "Does she ever stop complaining?" I asked them. "Usually no." Twilight responded. "Try not to kill her." "Its gonna take a lot of willpower." I replied, making them laugh. "I'm serious." They stopped and shuffled into the cave awkwardly. "So what type of weapon you want missy?" The blacksmith asked Rarity. "Oh I don't do much fighting darling." She responded. "Give her a bow." I said to the smith, he nodded and picked up a silver bow along with a quiver of arrows and handed them to Rarity. "I'll take that broadsword." I said, pointing to a cool looking sword, along the middle of the blade there were gems forged into the meta, and one in the pommel. "Ya have a good eye son, this once belonged to the necromancer Stronghorn Deadriser." He said to me, taking the sword down. "What a coincidence, we are going to ki-" I looked over at the girls. "Er show him the wrong in his ways." Luna put a hoof to her forehead and shook her head slowly. I took the sword from the smith's outstretched hooves and inspected it's blade. "Wait a minute, is that the princess of the night?" The smith knelt down. "Oh stop with the formalities." She said to him, and the smith stood up on all fours. "Anything for you prin- Luna?" The blacksmith asked her. Luna pointed to a sword that was on her back. "Okay then, how about you princ- Princess Twilight?" I looked a little flustered, I guess anypony would if two members of royalty showed up at their shop. "Please, call me Twilight, do you have anything that enhances magical abilities?" Twilight responded. "Why yes in fact I do Twilight." He took down four little anklets. They were solid gold and had a little gem in each of them. "These anklets will let you summon elemental magic to your hooves, just think about what you want to do." "Wow, I really must study these!" Twilight remarked. "I think i'll take some brass spiked horseshoes if ya got any." Applejack said, we all looked at her. "What, just because I am an element of harmony doesn't mean I know no types of weapons." The blacksmith then walked out into the back, where his forge was I guess. I caught a glimpse of his cutie mark, it was hard to see since the earth pony was completely covered in soot, but it looked like a flaming hammer. He walked out again with what Applejack asked for. "Thanks." "No problem, and for you?" He turned to Pinkie. "Umm, i'll take, do you have any cannonballs?" She asked. "Uh, sure?" The blacksmith was really confused at this request. He once again walked into the back of his shop and came out with a large sack. Pinkie took it and put it into her mane. "Anyways, what do you want?" He turned to Fluttershy. "Umm, I don't know, I never really thought about fighting." She looked around for a while and finally picked out a dagger. Rainbowdash then made her request. "I want one of those ball-on-a-chain thingies! Can it be a flaming one?" She seemed way to excited about getting a weapon. The blacksmith handed her down what she asked for. "Awesome! How does it catch on fire?" "The tips of the spikes are made of a material that will stay in fire until you manually put it out, so all you need to do is dip it in fire." The blacksmith told her. "My name is Eternal Flame by the way, nice ta meet you folks." He help out a hoof and I shook it. "Sargast Everdeath, nice to meet you too." I said to him. "Wait a minute." The blacksmith took his hoof away quickly. "Now I ain't saying you are dangerous but aren't you that pony who never dies? Like a zombie?" "Kinda." I replied, he seemed satisfied with that answer. "That will be five-hundred and sixty-eight bits please." He said. My jaw hit the floor, I had forgotten to bring my bits! "Don't worry Sargast I have them!" Pinkie said, she reached into her mane and pulled out the three safes that I stored my bits in. "How did you?" My jaw was on the floor again. "Don't question it, it will save you a huge headache." Twilight whispered to me. I opened the safes and took out the money I needed and handed it to the blacksmith. "Have a good day!" I said to him as we walked out. (Pinkie had the safes in her mane again in case you wanted to know.) //-------------------------------------------------------// 11 //-------------------------------------------------------// 11 "So how do you use this thing?" Rainbowdash asked, swinging her fire-ball thing around, nearly hitting me. "Well it helps not to hit your friends." I said, ducking the ball as it came around again. "Normally you would just swing it forward and let the ball fall on the target I guess." Rainbowdash turned around and faced the training dummy that I made, Rarity didn't like it however because it didn't have enough style. Rainbow swung the ball, making it land on the dummy's head, crushing it. "Awesome!" She exclaimed. I turned around to see Rarity trying to fire her bow, she had the arrow on correctly but was pulling on the bow instead of the string. "Rarity! You pull on the string!" I called over to her, she did that and accidentally sent an arrow flying towards me, I ducked and it whistled over my head. "Nice shot I guess." Twilight seemed to have her weapons mastered and was now reading a book, Fluttershy was using the flat part of the dagger blade to smack a rock. I walked over to her. "You don't want to do any killing do you?" I asked her, she shook her head. "Okay, I am just gonna tell you how to use that just in case kay?" She nodded. "Okay, the point is sharp, so you stab with it." She did this, then looked up at me. "Umm, what next?" She asked. "Well that's really it." I said with a shrug. I turned around to see Applejack kick the training dummy so hard the head flew off. "Oops." She said, walking over and picking up the head, I laughed a little. "Jeez Applejack, I don't think that you need the spikes, unless you want to climb walls or something." I chuckled, this made her laugh a little too. The only one who seemed to be having lots of fun learning how to kill things was Pinkie who was figuring out how to load her cannon. I unsheathed my sword and inspected the blade again, it was sharp enough to cut through a tree, if the tree was like a burnt toothpick but still a tree. As I held it in my hoof the gems seemed to light up, as if they were being powered by me. I was still looking at my blade when *BOOM!* a huge explosion behind me made me turn around, Pinkie was standing there covered in soot. "I learned how to load my cannon." She giggled, I sighed and turned around again when *BOOM*, this one sounded less like an explosion, a few more came after it. "Oh shit!" They all turned to me. "Take your weapons and run!" I sheathed my sword and booked it, running for my life. A quick glance behind me confirmed my suspicions, a huge bi-pedal creature appeared on the horizon, it was made out of metal and carried a huge pitch-black sword. I jumped and flapped my wings, turning around fully I saw that the girls were also running thank Celestia, but the metallic monster was still gaining on them. I grabbed my sword and flew at it, I stabbed it in the torso, but had trouble getting my sword out. The beast swatted me away, tearing me and my sword off of it. I got up again and felt a sharp jolt of pain in my side where I had been hit, I ignored that however and flew at the beast again, this time not even getting close, the flat of it's sword struck me in the chest, throwing me to the ground, my vision was blurred but I still saw Luna as she flew up and stabbed it with her sword, she dodged a few swipes of it's sword but was smacked aside by it's hoof-like thing on the end of it's arm. Rainbowdash flew up to defend the princess, and was immediately pounded literally into the ground. That did it, the switch was flipped, I could no longer feel the pain in my chest and side. "So the big metal beast wants to play? Hehehehehe, lets play." My voice grew higher again and my eyes became bloodshot and red. I flew at the monster, it tried to hit me away but I dodged it's every attack, I got in close and stabbed it repeatedly in the torso. I then flew up a little and started slashing away at it's face. "What did the sword say to your face? You're bucked now asshole! Get it? Oh you have no sense of humor." I then tried to cut it's head off completely but before I could swing I was hit by it's massive sword, sending me backwards in a spin. I righted my self and pointed my sword at it's chest, I could feel all of my rage being channeled into the sword, then the gems flashed black and a black lightning bolt shot out of the sword and hit the mechanical beast, sending it flying backwards. It tried to get up, but fell back and laid against the ground. "Aww our game is over? Oh well, maybe next time you'll survive longer, bye!" I turned to face the girls and Luna, my eyes and voice returning to normal. "And that, is how you kick a giant metal ting's ass." I declared. "Sargast, did you just use magic?" Twilight asked, looking very surprised. "I don't know."I said back. I looked at the sword, the gems were back to normal. Twilight took the sword from my hoof. "These gems seem to be able to enhance magical abilities, so I think the sword played a huge role in what just happened." She observed. "Yeah but I have no magical abilities to enhance." I said to her, and then she gasped. "Sargast, remember back in Celestia's throne room?" "Yeah, why?" "I told you that you were outputting regeneration spells, what if that was some kind of spell that your body naturally outputs, but was amplified by the sword making it take full effect!" She said, looking very excited. She handed the sword back to me. "Try doing that again." "Okay, i'll try." I pointed the sword at a boulder and concentrated on hate and anger, trying to replicate what I had done before. The sword started to spark a little but no lightning. I lost my concentration and the sparks went away, I sighed. "Nope." "But the sword sparked, this could mean something big!" She said, Luna then flew over next to us. "Sargast, I have something to tell you." She seemed a little depressed. "Shoot." "Well, how to begin. Okay, you know that bolt of energy, that was dark magic. There are only two types of ponies who can use dark magic, unicorns or alicorns who studied it," She paused for a second. "and necromancers." She looked up at me, my jaw went through the floor. "W-W-What! No bucking way!" I was stunned, there was no way I was a necromancer, but wait, Deadriser always hinted that he knew me somehow, and that part of my life I couldn't remember. The never dying. I dropped the sword that was in my hoof, I stepped away from it like it was the cause of the plague. "No, there is no way."I muttered. "Sargast you're a necromancer, but not an evil one. Sargast you are not like Deadriser at all, you only share abilities." Luna said to me. "He used to be my master." I mumbled. "What?" Luna asked me. "He used to be my master." I said, louder. "There is a point of my life that I can't remember, from after Flip died to about five years afterwards." I said her. "Deadriser could've had me as an apprentice for that time, saw I was using my powers for good and got rid of me, erasing my memory." Luna nodded. "Hey can we not tell the rest of the girls about this, I don't want them being scared of me." "I won't tell anypony." Luna said. "Thank you." I turned around and saw that Twilight had fainted. I went to slap her to wake her up but Luna stopped me. "What are you thinking?" She hissed. "Right, Twilight, wake up." I said, lowering my hoof. She didn't wake up so I pulled out my water bottle and dumped it on her, she jumped up immediately. "Who what when where why?" She yelled. "Come on lets get going, we are really close to Deadriser's stronghold. I picked up my sword and sheathed it. "What did Luna say to us again?" Twilight asked me. "Nothing much." I lied, Twilight didn't buy it but she decided not to push any further. We got the rest of the girls together and started walking again, and by the end of the day I could see Deadriser's stronghold in the distance. "Tomorrow Deadriser, tomorrow." I whispered before lying down on the ground and falling asleep. Author's Note If you were wondering about Sargast's psycho mode, it is actually based on a don't do drugs commercial. He has RED BLOODSHOT eyes, and he goes NUTS. See, that is what happens when you do drugs, kinda. //-------------------------------------------------------// 12 //-------------------------------------------------------// 12 We now stood outside of the dark stronghold of Deadriser. "Listen, keep your eyes open, watch for anything that may be dangerous. There could be anything in there." I said. "Well the door is wide open, lets go in."Twilight said, walked towards the door. "No! I will go in first." I said to her, blocking her path. She simply nodded, so I walked in and was met with a sight that I hadn't seen since I was in Ponyville, it was a wide open chamber, with six different passages, each with one of the mane six's cutie marks on it. But something was different, there was a larger wooden door at the opposite end of the room. I walked over to it and yanked on it, pulling it open a bit. "Come on in! I think its safe!" I yelled. "Think?" Came Twilight's voice. "Just come on!" I replied. They walked into the room and gasped a little. "What is this place?" Twilight asked, walking over to her corridor. The rest of the girls did the same while Luna looked around the room. I peered inside the door and saw something I never wanted to, I saw a room, the throne room. On a throne of bones sat a pony that seemed to have evil resonate off of him, he had a pitch-black coat and a matching mane and tail. On his back was a sheath, in it was a small oak staff with a gem embedded in the top. "Oh hello Sargast! So wonderful to see you again!" He said to me. "Deadriser." I growled. "Are your little friends having fun?" He asked and a small smile appeared on his lips, not a sincere smile but a malicious one. "It would be a shame if they," He pulled the staff out of it's sheath and jabbed it into the ground "died." I looked down as dark tendrils of magic spread across the floor, heading into the next room. "NO!" I yelled as I turned around to see the girls and Luna collapse. "Now it is just you and me Sargast, what do you have to say about that?" "I am going to tear your intestines out and hang you with them. TIME TO DIE YOU MOTHERBUCKER!" I screamed, yanking my sword out and charging him. I swung my sword at him time and time again, and he blocked each strike with his staff, then he started trying to hit me with his staff. I got up close, standing right in front of him I gave him a headbutt, sending him to the floor, he quickly recovered however and stood back, holding his staff at me. "Oh Sargast if only you could remember how to use your powers this would be sooo much more fun!" A dark bolt shot out of his staff striking me in the chest, I went flying backwards and hit the wall, creating a crater the shape of my body in it. "Who needs powers when they are a psycho murderer with a sword?" I asked him, jumping back at him, letting off another series of swings, this time a couple made contact, drawing blood from the dark lord. "Sargast I have no doubt that you can defeat me, but can you defeat an army by yourself hmmm?" He said, once again stabbing his staff into the ground. This time the dark magic created a shadow covering the entire floor, and then hands started poking out of the ground. "I will kill them all! I will litter the floor with corpses as long as I can finish off with your dead body skewered on my sword!" I yelled at him. As the skeletons started coming out of the ground my sword started sparking with dark lightning. "Oh it seems you can use your powers, looks like the will be interesting after all." I charged into the large mass of skeletons and spun around, sending off a circular lightning strike that cut straight through the unfortunate skeletons that were in it's way, the rest however just jumped over it. The skeletons charged me and my rage reached a point that it had never reached before. I jumped into the air and aimed my sword down, I could feel all my hatred going into that one magic bolt, my hate of Deadriser, my hate of my parents dying, my hate of my friend dying. All the pain I ever felt, all my horrible memories resurfaced and I directed all of that power into my sword. The gems flashed red, then my sword started glowing red, I no longer felt it as a sword, I felt it as a cannon. I let loose all of that energy and a ball of energy the size of a train car came out, making the room flash white, when it touched the ground it exploded with the force of a supernova, on steroids. When the dust cleared I saw that the room was gone, all that was left was me, Deadriser and the seven dead ponies that were behind me. "I. WILL. KILL. YOU!" I charged Deadriser, and for once he looked scared, I hit him, sending him flying backwards, he hit the dirt and dropped his staff. I converged on him and put my sword to him throat. "S-Sargast? You were my student! Are you really going to kill me?" At that point his staff was in his hoof and he shoved me off of him, he put the staff to my forehead and my vision flashed white. "Have your memories, remember me for who I am!" "Who are you?" I asked the stallion who had just adopted me. "Oh just call me daddy." He said sweetly. "What is that staff for?" I asked him, pointing to the staff n his back. "What if i told you I could do magic, that you could do magic?" He said to me. "No way! But you're an earth pony and i'm a pegasus!" I said, confused. "A different type of magic than that, I call it, necromancy." He said to me. "You're a necromancer?" My eyes grew wide, from what my parents had told me they were all evil. "You are to!" He said, poking me in the chest playfully. "You don't seem evil." I said to him. "I'm not!" He said back, then my vision changed. "So dad, how do you use necromancy?" I asked, holding a sword out in my hooves, it had gems going up the blade. "Well all you have to do is imagine what you want to do, then you think of a sad memory or of something that used to hurt you." Deadriser replied. I was now in my teens, looking very bored with the stallion who had adopted me. "Okay, whatever." I pointed my sword at the ground, lightning shot out and singed the floor. "Whoa!" I was now interested. "There you go son!" Deadriser said to me, then the vision changed again. I was now standing in front of him, angry about something. "I thought you said you weren't evil!" I yelled at the stallion. "Son they were trying to hurt you!" Deadriser said back, just as angry. "Yeah, just beat 'em up! You didn't need to KILL them!" I yelled again. "Sargast, inside voice please." He said to me. "NO!" I yelled at him. I then turned to the stairs and ran into my room, there I grabbed my sword. I walked back downstairs and I pointed the sword at the ground. I though of my parents death's, then a bolt of lightning shot out of the sword an hit the ground. Then three tough looking ponies popped out of nowhere. "Son! Good job! Now send them back." Deadriser said. "No, I am using my magic for goo, so goodbye asshole." I said, walking out the door. "Okay then, if you want to leave, then leave." I looked around to see Deadriser with his staff, a bolt shot out at me, shocking my brain. "Where am I?" I said, dazed and confused. I was then thrown out of the house, my sword taken from me. I fell unconscious and the three thugs stole whatever I had on me and threw me into the woods. "See Sargast, II kept you alive! I showed you your powers!" Deadriser said, confident again. "You, you bucking threw me out! I, I can't believe I called you father once. I can't believe that I used to love you! You are a monster, you are a shell of a pony, you have no soul." With those final words I jumped him, putting my sword to his throat. "Thank you for giving me even more pleasure to do this." I said, then I cut his head off. I stabbed his body until it was nothing but a mutilated corpse, it looked as if I had just threw him into a spike wall. I then fulfilled my promise, I cut open his gut, and tore out his intestines, I then made a noose out of them and hung him on his staff. There was blood all over my hooves. "What did I just do?" My mind was only now recovering from the shock of my memories coming back. "What did I do?" I was just like him! I was a monster, why should I live? I dropped my sword, and I crawled over to one of the far corners of the building's rubble. *Point of view change* Fluttershy was the first to wake up, she felt like she had just been in a deep slumber, she shook the rest of the girls awake, then she turned around and nearly fainted, she saw Deadriser's corpse, hung on a staff. But the reason why she didn't pass out was in the corner, in the fetal position, rocking back and forth. "Sargast?" She called softly to the pony in the corner, there was no reply. She walked over closer to him, and saw that he was shaking and could faintly hear him talking to himself. "Sargast?" She said again, a little louder this time. She knew what had happened, Sargast must have went psycho and did that to Deadriser, but then went back to normal, saw what he had done and slowly lost his mind. She had seen this type of thing before in animals, except there was no killing involved, just usually hurt paws and things. She walked over and stood next to him, she put a hoof on his shoulder. "Sargast, listen to me, you didn't mean to do, that." She said, pointing towards Deadriser. "Yes I did." He mumbled. "Yes you did, you are terrible, a monster. No, Fluttershy is right, you need to snap out of this!" He seemed to be having a three-way conversation with himself, and the side that was calling him a monster was winning. By now the rest of the girls were slowly approaching him as well. "Sargast?" Twilight asked softly, Fluttershy made a motion for her to go away. Twilight and the rest of the girls nodded and backed up. "I am a monster, and nopony can help me. You should just stay away from everypony so you don't hurt them. I guess you are right." Now he was entirely on the side of him being a monster. "Sargast you are not a monster, you didn't mean to do what you did!" Fluttershy insisted. "Potato!" Fluttershy was now extremely worried about him, he seemed to have completely lost his mind. "Sargast come on, listen to me!" Fluttershy said. "NO! I WON'T LEAVE FLOOR! FLOOR IS MY FRIEND!" Sargast yelled. Rainbowdash elbowed Applejack. "Well he is now officially nuts."She whispered to Applejack. Applejack elbowed Rainbowdash as hard as she could. "This isn't funny!" "Jeez fine." Sargast had now started talking to the floor, acting as if it was his only friend. "Oh floor! You are my best friend, nopony is going to split us apart!" Sargast yelled, stroking the floor. "Sargast, we have to go now." Fluttershy said, Sargast didn't budge. "Sargast! We need to go now!" Fluttershy insisted, but Sargast still never moved. "Here, watch this." Twilight said, her horn lit up and a bolt of magic shot our, breaking a chunk of floor off of the rest, she picked the chunk up and walked over to Sargast. "Sargast! Look! It's the floor!" Sargast looked up, saw the chunk and rushed over and grabbed it from her, he then put it behind his back and hissed a Twilight. Girls come over here, I think we can teleport back." Twilight said, her horn lighting up, the girls all huddled together, Sargast was in the middle, holding onto the chunk of floor as if dropping it would make the world end. "Why didn't we teleport here?" Rainbowdash asked Twilight. "I can only teleport to places I have been before." Twilight replied. "Why did we come out here?" Rainbow asked. "Sargast's visions implied that we had to, and necromancers are very evil beings and they should be stopped before their evil plans even begin." Twilight said, and Luna winced. Then the spell took hold, whisking them away to Canterlot. *** "Princess Celestia, we defeated the necromancer, well Sargast did." Twilight said, bowing down in front of the princess. "Where is Sargast?" Celestia asked. "We had to drop him off at the nuthouse." Rainbow said, then she put a hoof over her mouth. "What? Why?" Celestia seemed worried. "Sister, the necromancer used a spell before we could get to him, it made us pass out but it did not affect Sargast. When we woke up Deadriser was Dead and the stronghold was nothing but rubble. As well Sargast was huddled up in a corner, talking to himself before he started, um, he acted as if the floor was an animate object and that they were friends." Luna explained, sadness in her voice. Her and Fluttershy seemed to have taken it the hardest, Fluttershy thought she hadn't done enough to prevent it and Luna knew that it was something about Sargast's past that had done this to him, and that she could have helped him somehow, even a little bit of support could have kept his sanity intact. "I must go see him, would you all like to come with me?" Celestia said, and all of the girls nodded their heads, with that they teleported away, to the mental asylum. THE END OF EVERDEATH Author's Note This was probably not the ending that you expected, and you are probably disappointed that I didn't do some huge fight scene. The reason why is because this is being continued, in the next part of this story: Insanity. And also I really can't do fight scenes. -Darkportal. //-------------------------------------------------------// Story Central //-------------------------------------------------------// Story Central This is where you will find the links to all of the different parts of this series.
