She sighed and frowned. She'd been waiting for the longest time, but he still wan't here. He promised, but stuff happens. Maybe he got caught up in schoolwork. Or maybe his buddies dragged him somewhere.
It's always something.
She paced to and fro to pass the time, but even as the sun released its final orange light above the crest of the distant hills. She sighed and turned to exit the park. It was way past the time he was supposed to arrive. She might as well go home and sleep the rest of the evening off. He couldn't always come. She was expecting too much o-
"I'm sorry I'm late."
She turned to face a stallion, a small frown plastered on his face. Not a stallion. HER stallion. She smiled and gave him a peck on his muzzle. "You better be. You're not supposed to make a lady wait."
He gave her his own smile. "What lady?" She gave him a cute frown, and he returned her kiss. "I didn't mean to let my princess wait."
She gave him a lighthearted giggle, her smile returning. "You charmer." He just held out his hoof."Shall we get going, my princess?" She released another giggle and accepted his hoof.
They began their stroll through the park, under the swaying trees. "The night wind is picking up, isn't it?"
She nodded. "It feels quite relaxing, and it's a really nice setting."
Her coltfriend laughed. "When did you become the romantic?"
She laughed at what she said. "Since I met you, you handsome bastard.
He cocked an eyebrow. "Oh? And which term of that word are you using?"
She cackled and gave him a nudge. "And when did you become the dictionary?" He shrugged and gave her a small smile.
They walked together in silence, admiring the scenery and each other. It was all absolutely beautiful, even though he found that to be a bit corny.
After aimless wandering through the violets, tulips and roses, they reached their destination. It was a simple park bench, overlooking the town. They both lied down on the bench, her laying on him.
"So how is it going with the Royal Guard?"
He shrugged. "Interesting question, and out of the blue, but with the schoolwork, my weird friends and attending to guard duties, it gets really hectic." He smiled. "But I sometimes fit in time for you."
"It is quite pretty up here, you know." He just nodded in response, and turned so they were belly to belly. She almost fell off of him in surprise, but he caught hold of her. "Hey, surprised you a bit there, did I?"
She giggled. "Yes you did, be careful." She gave him a sultry smile. "You couldn't afford to get me hurt, could you?"
He shook his head. "Of course I couldn't. Will this make up for it?" He reached down and pulled up a tulip from the ground. She smiled and kissed him on the lips.
"But of course." He smiled and slipped the flower into her mane.
"I think it fits you well."
She smiled. "And what about you?"
He shrugged. "I think we work perfectly. Like the sun and moon." He kissed her lips softly. "You look like the moon tonight."
She looked up and saw the moon shining bright above them, a dim halo ring around the edges of the celestial object. She smiled. "You really come up with cheesy lines, don't you."
He frowned. "But I like cheese!"
She planted a peck oh his cheek. "Shh, no complaining about my remarks."
He had his smile return, and pressed his lips onto hers. Not just a short loving kiss, but a deep, passionate one. One that showed that he was there for her, that he card for her, that she would always be safe in his grasp. This is why she loved him. He loved her.
She returned the kiss, pressing in, her passion showing true colors. He felt warm and happy with her, she showed that she can help, and is supportive of him, no matter what he might do, and that he's alway be there for him. This is why he loved her.
After what it seemed to be an eternity, they broke their kiss, just for a breath of air. They stared deep into each other's eyes, knowing they were meant for each other.
She placed her head on the his chest, and slowly dozed to sleep under Luna's watchful moon.
He smiled. He would have to carry her sleeping body home. But just for the moment out here, it was all worth it. Every moment to be with her.
He carried her sleep-induced body through tuhe park, and all the way back to her house. He opened the door, and trotted up the stairs to her room. He opened the door, and he was met by her room. It was quite a plain room, but it was an interesting one nonetheless. She carried her over to her bed and placed her down before rolling the covers up to cover her body. He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before turning to go.
"You're leaving already?"
He turned to find that she was awake. She tilted her head slightly. "You can sleep with me tonight. I won't mind."
He gave her a smiled and walked back to the bed, taking a seat on it. "Before sleep, I must ask, how was tonight?" She had a small smirk, and leaned to kiss him. She held it for a few seconds before pulling away.
"It was amazing, like every moment with you." He smiled and slipped into the bed, pulling the covers up over the both of them. They laid there smiling at each other, and staring into each other's. he grasped her into a cuddle, and they both drifted to sleep.
"Good night, my royal guard."
"Good night, my princess."
