My Little Space Mare-ine
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterTwilight Sparkle prodded at one of the hundreds of bodies with her hoof. The body belonged to a Discorded space mare-ine of the Celestia’s Children traitor legion, and it was a rather large mare-ine at that.
In her Ter-mare-nator armor, Twilight was something to behold, she towered above even the tallest space mare-ine and was far more armed and armored than any of her battle-brethren. She angrily smashed the Discorded mare-ine’s helmet as she thought back to how it had been before Discord came back.
It had been the year of lasting unease. After the second defeat of King Sombra in the Crystal Empire and several threatening letters written in blood addressed to the two princesses, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna had finally decided that it was time to create defense technology. Among the first inventions were the bolter and the space mare-ine power armor, from which countless variations and adaptations would spawn.
So far, these weapons had only been used only twice, first against a massive changeling invasion, then against a would-be zombie apocalypse. Then came the realization that even more heavy-duty armor was needed, armor that could withstand the vacuum of space and even a journey across the surface of the sun. This need would produce the Ter-mare-nator armor; although, such armor quickly became increasingly difficult to produce due to an increasing lack of resources across Equestria.
Then Discord reappeared; and with him came the atrocious war that Equestria had known for a few years now.
Among the first areas that would be attacked was Canterlot, which sustained a direct hit from a cyclonic exterminatus war-head and was instantly flattened by the resulting explosion. Through a narrow margin, a few of Equestria’s nobility were able to escape the devastation. That narrow margin had cost most of the Equestrian Royal Guard their lives; a reckless, but needed action. Nopony knew where Princess Celestia or Princess Luna were at current, but everypony knew they were alive and in hiding, coordinating what was left of the army of space mare-ines to combat the forces of Discord.
“Twilight!” Twilight brought her gaze up to meet the eyes of a cyan blue pegasus with a rainbow colored mane.
“Rainbow Dash! What news do you have?” Twilight smiled at her best friend. Rainbow dash, although brash and arrogant, was fiercely loyal and represented the Element of Loyalty, one of the six Elements of Harmony.
“AppleJack and Rarity are leading the defense of Fillydelphia, while Fluttershy is overseeing the reconstruction of Ponyville. Oddly, no word from Pinkie Pie, though; I wonder what’s up..”
Pinkie Pie, the party loving pony, and the Element of Laughter. It was unlike her not to report back her whereabouts or doings, as she usually clogged the vox line with her incessant chattering. “I’ll look into it; in the meantime, you should continue defending this area.”
Rainbow Dash nodded, “May Celestia be with you, Twilight.”
Summoning her ter-mare-nator squad, Twilight initiated the teleport spell; “Vox test!”
“Galven, aye.”
“Summer, aye.”
The rest of the squad followed their twin sergeants’ example, sounding off clearly. Seconds later, the Ter-mare-nators were gone, headed for Pinkie Pie’s last known coordinates, Las Pegasus.
