My Little Space Mare-ine
Chapter 3
Previous ChapterAppleJack was accustomed to pummeling her enemies to death in the open, not sneaking around and assassinating any Discorded Space Mare-ine that came too close. This was Rarity’s job, not AppleJack’s, but Rarity had expressed the need for a team of Space Mare-ines to get behind enemy lines and attempt to flank Discord’s servants, potentially drawing the fight from the walls of Fillydelphia and into a guerilla war on the outskirts of the Everfree forest long enough for Rarity and her Techmare-ines to finish the weapon they had been working on. Although she hated to admit it, AppleJack knew nothing about this weapon, besides that it was designed to specifically target and destroy Discored Space Mare-ines somehow.
“Mistress AppleJack, Vox call from Rarity.” AppleJack shifted to face the speaker, a fellow Space Mare-ine in orange armor.
“Send it through.” Almost as soon as AppleJack gave the order, Rarity’s voice came through the vox.
“AppleJack, my dear, the weapon is finally completed.”
“About darn time…” AppleJack muttered under her breath.
“I need you to return to FillyDelphia.. And bring your squads.” Rarity’s voice said. AppleJack sighed, Rarity always believed she was one step up from her, only because AppleJack had owned and maintained the now destroyed “Sweet Apple Acres”, an enormous apple farm located on the outskirts of the devastated Ponyville area; while Rarity herself owned the still-standing “Carousel Boutique”.
By the time AppleJack had returned FillyDelphia, Rarity was already waiting just inside the city walls. Standing beside her was AppleJack’s brother, Big Macintosh; the commanding stallion of the Thousand Mares legion.
They arrived in almost unimaginable numbers. The Celestia’s Children Traitor legion had returned to Mane-Hatten, and Rainbow Dash, the only Space Mare-ine among the thousands of under equipped Equestrian Guard, knew that this would be a problem.
Three days later, the statistics were not on Rainbow Dash’s side. Formations of Discorded Ter-mare-nators had cut a bloody path through the defenders and the city itself. Several thousand of the Equestrian Guard were either insane or just dead, with several hundred more injured or missing.
Rainbow Dash swore under her breath as another entire regiment was decimated by a cluster of Discorded Berserker Mare-ines. “Oh no, you did not just kill my friends!” She made short work of the group with her assault cannons, splattering the group onto the wall behind them.
A snarl from behind heralded a new adversary for Rainbow Dash. Spinning around on her rear hooves, Rainbow Dash felled the creature of Discord, only to have the rest of the cadre come barreling down on her.
