//-------------------------------------------------------// My Little Space Mare-ine -by Spitfire1010- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Twilight Sparkle prodded at one of the hundreds of bodies with her hoof. The body belonged to a Discorded space mare-ine of the Celestia’s Children traitor legion, and it was a rather large mare-ine at that. In her Ter-mare-nator armor, Twilight was something to behold, she towered above even the tallest space mare-ine and was far more armed and armored than any of her battle-brethren. She angrily smashed the Discorded mare-ine’s helmet as she thought back to how it had been before Discord came back. It had been the year of lasting unease. After the second defeat of King Sombra in the Crystal Empire and several threatening letters written in blood addressed to the two princesses, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna had finally decided that it was time to create defense technology. Among the first inventions were the bolter and the space mare-ine power armor, from which countless variations and adaptations would spawn. So far, these weapons had only been used only twice, first against a massive changeling invasion, then against a would-be zombie apocalypse. Then came the realization that even more heavy-duty armor was needed, armor that could withstand the vacuum of space and even a journey across the surface of the sun. This need would produce the Ter-mare-nator armor; although, such armor quickly became increasingly difficult to produce due to an increasing lack of resources across Equestria. Then Discord reappeared; and with him came the atrocious war that Equestria had known for a few years now. Among the first areas that would be attacked was Canterlot, which sustained a direct hit from a cyclonic exterminatus war-head and was instantly flattened by the resulting explosion. Through a narrow margin, a few of Equestria’s nobility were able to escape the devastation. That narrow margin had cost most of the Equestrian Royal Guard their lives; a reckless, but needed action. Nopony knew where Princess Celestia or Princess Luna were at current, but everypony knew they were alive and in hiding, coordinating what was left of the army of space mare-ines to combat the forces of Discord. “Twilight!” Twilight brought her gaze up to meet the eyes of a cyan blue pegasus with a rainbow colored mane. “Rainbow Dash! What news do you have?” Twilight smiled at her best friend. Rainbow dash, although brash and arrogant, was fiercely loyal and represented the Element of Loyalty, one of the six Elements of Harmony. “AppleJack and Rarity are leading the defense of Fillydelphia, while Fluttershy is overseeing the reconstruction of Ponyville. Oddly, no word from Pinkie Pie, though; I wonder what’s up..” Pinkie Pie, the party loving pony, and the Element of Laughter. It was unlike her not to report back her whereabouts or doings, as she usually clogged the vox line with her incessant chattering. “I’ll look into it; in the meantime, you should continue defending this area.” Rainbow Dash nodded, “May Celestia be with you, Twilight.” Summoning her ter-mare-nator squad, Twilight initiated the teleport spell; “Vox test!” “Galven, aye.” “Summer, aye.” The rest of the squad followed their twin sergeants’ example, sounding off clearly. Seconds later, the Ter-mare-nators were gone, headed for Pinkie Pie’s last known coordinates, Las Pegasus. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 AppleJack was accustomed to pummeling her enemies to death in the open, not sneaking around and assassinating any Discorded Space Mare-ine that came too close.  This was Rarity’s job, not AppleJack’s, but Rarity had expressed the need for a team of Space Mare-ines to get behind enemy lines and attempt to flank Discord’s servants, potentially drawing the fight from the walls of Fillydelphia and into a guerilla war on the outskirts of the Everfree forest long enough for Rarity and her Techmare-ines to finish the weapon they had been working on. Although she hated to admit it, AppleJack knew nothing about this weapon, besides that it was designed to specifically target and destroy Discored Space Mare-ines somehow. “Mistress AppleJack, Vox call from Rarity.” AppleJack shifted to face the speaker, a fellow Space Mare-ine in orange armor. “Send it through.” Almost as soon as AppleJack gave the order, Rarity’s voice came through the vox. “AppleJack, my dear, the weapon is finally completed.” “About darn time…” AppleJack muttered under her breath. “I need you to return to FillyDelphia.. And bring your squads.” Rarity’s voice said. AppleJack sighed, Rarity always believed she was one step up from her, only because AppleJack had owned and maintained the now destroyed “Sweet Apple Acres”, an enormous apple farm located on the outskirts of the devastated Ponyville area; while Rarity herself owned the still-standing “Carousel Boutique”. By the time AppleJack had returned FillyDelphia, Rarity was already waiting just inside the city walls. Standing beside her was AppleJack’s brother, Big Macintosh; the commanding stallion of the Thousand Mares legion. They arrived in almost unimaginable numbers. The Celestia’s Children Traitor legion had returned to Mane-Hatten, and Rainbow Dash, the only Space Mare-ine among the thousands of under equipped Equestrian Guard, knew that this would be a problem. Three days later, the statistics were not on Rainbow Dash’s side. Formations of Discorded Ter-mare-nators had cut a bloody path through the defenders and the city itself. Several thousand of the Equestrian Guard were either insane or just dead, with several hundred more injured or missing. Rainbow Dash swore under her breath as another entire regiment was decimated by a cluster of Discorded Berserker Mare-ines. “Oh no, you did not just kill my friends!” She made short work of the group with her assault cannons, splattering the group onto the wall behind them. A snarl from behind heralded a new adversary for Rainbow Dash. Spinning around on her rear hooves, Rainbow Dash felled the creature of Discord, only to have the rest of the cadre come barreling down on her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 “They are coming, but Pinkamena will take care of them, she always does..” the room remained silent, the Discorded Space Mare-ines littering the floor remained dead. The speaking pony was pink in color, but bore armor of a dark purple color; her dark pink mane lay flat over her face, a sign of her insanity. “It’s like a graveyard, princess, bodies from both sides lie everywhere,” Galven had quickly surveyed the area outside the building the squad had teleported into, “although, the majority of the bodies belong to Discord’s forces.” “Ok, Summer, take your team and survey the buildings on the west side of town. Galven, take the east.” The Ter-mare-nators filed out of the room, leaving Twilight and her four body guards alone. Two hours later, Twilight initiated another Vox test, “Alright, Vox test!” “Summer, aye!” The rest of her five mare team followed suit. Then, silence. No word came from Galven. Pinkamena dodged the flurry of shells with relative ease, “you thought you could just walk in on my party, did you?” In an instant, she was standing on the Ter-mare-nator’s back, “well, you can’t!” She stabbed her lightning hooves directly into the neck joint of mare beneath her, severing her spine. Galven let loose another burst of shells from his assault cannon, only to have every single shot miss. Then, he realized he was the last one. Pinkamena threw herself at him, her only intent: to kill. Galven shut his eyes, and accepted what would be his death. With a loud ‘thwack!’, Twilight’s thunder hammer smashed into Galven’s attacker, sending the mare flying into a stack of wooden crates. Galven opened his eyes, and quickly assessed the situation. The crates shuddered before Pinkamena burst from them, this time her hooves were aimed at Twilight. Twilight shut her eyes, before opening them again. They were now glowing bright white, as they would when she channeled extremely powerful magic. She lowered her head and, from her horn, launched a rainbow colored beam directly at Pinkamena. The beam knocked the earth pony out of the air and through the wall.
