//-------------------------------------------------------// Cloudy Skies -by sugarush13- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One I walked with a skip in my step, the plastic bag in my right hand jumping in response. I skipped around the corner and scanned the surroundings. My eyes soon found a small crack inbetween two buildings, those of which I walked into. "Oh, your back from the store!" A familiar voice said. I giggled in response and turned my head to meet my sister Amy. "Yes I'm back," I reply, "and I got the stuff you wanted, all except for a few snacks, we once again didnt have enough money." I said the last part gloomily, it was just getting harder and harder to get some money these days. "That's alright Alex," Amy says, "I did some quick dumpster diving and guess what I found." "What?" "Half a bag of cheese-its!" My eyes widened, we had almost never gotten something that good! She must have saw my response, because she pulled something out from behind her back. I had never hugged my sister so hard before. When I let go she had already taken a step to the back of the alley. She bent down and picked up two things. When she walked back I saw it was her old shoes. They where torn and battered, but they where all we had. Bringing my arm up to my forehead I looked at the sky. "It around noon, Amy, there's going to be a little storm this afternoon, I'm pretty sure." I say, scanning the skies for anymore info. "I'll always wonder how you do that," Amy states. I always had a sense of weather, it was kinda weird. My twin sister Katie sometimes calls me featherbrain, I guess cause I've always got my head in the clouds. "So, about how big is the storm." My sister says, knocking me out of my thoughts. "Eh," I reply, "it won't be too severe, only able to do a little damage. it should last until around, I dunno, eleven, maybe twelve o'clock." Amy nods in understand. "Oh, and I have another surprise for you," Amy cheeryfully says, causing me to look her way in confusion. "You know that little project we've been working on recently." I nod my head, we where building a house, we where eager to get out of this alley. "Matt finished it today!" She practically screamed. I nearly jumped out of my skin, that was the best news I had ever heard, ever!  We had been living in this alley for about 8 years. We've spent the last six years building a small house. It was out in the forest. It was in a pretty good spot. Close enough so we could go to the store, and far enough we problably wouldn't be found. "What! Really!" I asked, making sure she wasn't playing a prank. That was a hobby of hers. But the shaking if her head proved it wasnt. "Matt and Katie started walking over while you where at the store. They should be arriving around now." She says enthusiastically. "We'll what are we waiting for?" I ask. "For you to put on your shoes!" She says back. I laugh at that while jogging to the end of te alley. I bent down and scooped up my worn shoes, then slipping them on. When I turn around, Amy is already gone. Laughing to myself I run after her. When I run out of the alley I catch a glimpse of my sister rounding the corner. Picking up my speed I'm right on her tail. With each step I take, the more energy is used up. My breathing soon turnes into pants as I am now neck and neck with her. "Happy birthday Amy!" I shout as I pass her. I turn my head to see her catching up, and a smile printed across her face. When my neck turnes my head forward again i turn the corner again, narrowly avoiding a patch of grass.i turn my head again to see my sister about to turn, but then something happened. She took a step and a small jump, before her eyes seemed to dull. The time she flew went in slow motion as she approached the grass. "Amy!" I cry out as she crashes hard onto the grass, snapping out of her trance. Wasting no time I run over to my injured sister. She began mumbling something, I couldn't make it out until I got closer. "Five score, memories removed." She uttered, not seeming completely out of her trance like state. "Amy!" I shout out once more, but she didnt seem to hear me. I skidded to a stop at her shoulder. She seemed to be staring at her hands, as if they were foreign. I touched my hand to her shoulder, causing her to whip around. "Discord!" She shrieked. I took a step back, unsure of what she just said. "Get away from me you monster!" She hissed. Tears where welling up in her eyes and streaming down her dirty face. She looks at me, her eyes full of hate. "I said get away!" She cried, this time powering more on sadness, then on anger. "Amy it's me!" I say, unsure of what was happening. The look on her face didn't change. "It's me! Your sister! Alex!" I cry. "Snap out of it!" Tears where now populating my face as she seemed to limp for a moment. When she sat up straight again, she shook her head. "A-Alex, what just happened. I-I saw something, a-and it allied itself discord, and, I-it..." She burst into tears. I immediately rushed over to my sister, who gladly sat limp against my shoulder. "Cherry, I can remember before, why are we in the middle of a patch of grass." She whispers. I didn't catch the slip and answered the question. "We where going to the house, remember." "No..." I look her way with worry. She didnt seem like herself, Amy could fall of a two story building and not have any serious injury. I take her hand and help her up. "Well that's what we where doing." I state calmly. I take a few steps and she follows, seeming very shaky. I sigh deeply to myself and pull on to our goal. When we get there Amy can lay down on that rusty old mattress, we can all have some cheese-it's. I have a feeling everything's going to be just fine, yeah. everythings going to be just fine By the time the new house came into sight, my and Amy where begging for rest. Her because she was tired and felt more lazy, I dunno why. Me because I've been practically carrying her this whole time! And she kept scratching her thighs and denying every question I asked her about it. She seemed dazed almost the entire time we where walking, little conversation was had as we made our way to the house. As we finally pulled on the last bush, we saw the wooden structure. But only a glimpse as a red mass toppled both of us down to the ground. "Yay! Your here!" it shouts, embracing me and amy in a tight hug. I squirm around, trying to escape, but it was no use. I didn't think to say anything, as I was exhausted from our trek, amy had other ideas. "Ack! Katie! Get off." she screams, pushing her younger sister off, who giggled and took a step back. "How was your walk?" she asks pulling us to our feet. "Horrible!'' I say, struggling to forget the way Amy acted when I touched her. She spoke with hate, like she meant every word she said. "What! Why?" Katie asks, bringing me back to reality. "Amy tripped and fell in a patch of grass, I had to practically carry her the whole way!" I say, leaving out certain parts. "Oh, man! Amy are you okay!" She nodded her head and smiled, before her hand reached down and scratched her thigh. "Why are you scratching your leg?" Katie asks. Amy seems surprised, she looked down at her leg. "Hm, I guess something bit me, I'll check it out." She walked over to a nearby bush and hopped behind. She poked her head out the top. "Don't look!" Her head disappeared and I could hear some shuffling sounds. I looked back to Katie, who was stifling a few laughs. I soon realized I was doing the same thing. My rhoughts where interrupted as a chuckle was soon heard from behind the bush. We both turned our heads to see amy coming out of the bush, clapping her hands slowly. "Wow guys," she began, "you got me good, hahaha."  A confused look crossed my face, as did katies. Amy noticed this. "C'mon guys, y'know, the harp?" She said, signaling to her hips. "I have no idea what you're talking about," Katie says, glancing between me and Amy. "Neither do I," I say after her. Amy looked bewildered, looking from me, to Katie, to her leg. She shook her head and put her hands to her hips. "Seriously guys, I'm talking about," She pulled down the side of her shorts, "This!" She says, staring at her thighs. Me and Katie stared too. there, emblazoned on her leg. Was a three stringed harp. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two Amy point of veiw "Happy Birthday!" Alex shouted as she ran ahead of me. I could see her sweating, she wouldn't last long. I caught a quick glimpse of her doing that awkward shoulder movement she always did when she ran before she turned the corner. I was right on her tail, turning the corner right after he- "Don't li- ing with yo-" "Its- ord" *BOOM* "See you soon" Five Score Divided by Four "Amy!" Alex shouts, shaking me hard. "Huh, Alex?" I say, vision cloudy. "I-I saw something, It called itself d-discord and, and-" Tears broke out, I didn't know why I felt so sad. It was just a little daydream, right? "Cherry, I cant remember before, what where we doing?'' I ask, struggling to recall. "We where going to the house, remember?" She asked, obviously worried. "No..." Those memories flashed by my mind as I stared at the mark on my thigh. A three stringed harp. I checked the other side. Yep, there too. This isn't possible. It was probably alex playing a prank on me, but she doesn't know about the show. And why would she pick lyra. I guess I'll just ask. I stood up and walked out from behind the bush, slowly clapping my hands. Gee, I hope it was a prank. "Oh, ha ha ha. Very funny guys." I say. They looked confused, they did it, right? "Y'know, the harp?" I glanced back to my hip. "I have no idea what your talking about." Katie says, while looking at me with worry. "Me neither." Alex says. "Ugh, I'm talking about," I grap the waistband of my pants, "This!" I yank down the side of my pants, revealing the harp. Both alex and Katie where silent for a bit, just staring, before Katie broke the ice. "What the HECK is that!?" She screamed bringing her gaze to mine. I opened my mouth to reply before another voice interrupted. "OW!" Called a voice from inside the house. A series of *Thumps* and *Thuds* where soon be heard as well as a chorus of *Oofs* and *Ows*. Soon one final *Thump* Echoed throughout the clearing, as a dazed and confused man walked out, rubbing his head. I was barely able to contain my laughter with my hand over my mouth. Alex was snickering a bit too, but the man did not seem amused. ''Matt, *Snort* W-what happened? *Giggle*" I coughed out, about to explode at any second now. "Really!" He said, glaring at me,  "If I fall down the stairs, somepony should at least see if I'm okay!" That broke me. I fell to the floor, guffaws erupting out of my mouth. A chorus of giggles and laughter where spilling out as well. "AH HA HA HA HA!'' I shout, rolling around on the floor. ''HA HA! M-MAKE IT STOP! AH HA HA HA!" I say, gasping for air inbetween giggles. "I-I CANT B-BREATH!" I shout, waving my hands in the air, laughter still coming out of my mouth. Finally, the giggles subsided and I was left to face an angry Matt. He stood over me, arms crossed, a scowl on his face. As I sat up I noticed Alex and Katie seemed angry at me too. "Aww, lighten up everypony!" I fell to the floor laughing again at my own joke. ''HA HA ha ha heh. Yeah." I finish, glancing at the others. Still pissed. ''That's not funny.'' Matt says, walking away. "C'mon, cheer up thunderlane!" He stopped, and turned around snickering. "What?" I say, confused at why he's laughing. ''Oh, it was nothing. You just called me a pony name. A pony from a show that you said you hated.'' He said, as he scratched his thigh. "What? I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything from my little pony." Now it was Alex and katies turn to laugh. "What!?" Alex responded "Yeah, you totally didn't call him thunderlane. Or even better, yo udidnt call him a name from my little pony!'' "Right! I didn't!" ''Stop denying it! You watch the show and compared thunderlanes awesomeness to mine and accidentally called me by his name!" matt shouts, "You are always interested in fictional animals and such." I snort, "I do not watch that nonsense. 'Thunderlane' is stupid, so are you. And the animals I study are not fictional, pastel colored ponies with magic horns and wings are fictional. I am interested in things such as minitaurs, and cockatrice." He crossed his arms, "I don't see the difference," he says, "those are both in equestria.'' I roll my eyes "Just get it in your head already! Equestria is. Not. Real." We have a mini staring contest before Katie interrupts. "I know that you guys have something you disagree about, but can we talk about something related to our current problem." She says, pointing to my hip. "What problem?" Matt asks, glancing at my leg. Katie gives me a stern look, meaning I should show him. Sighing, I pull down the waistband of my shorts. It was silent at first, before Matt let out a giggle. "You, you h-have, a." He forced out inbetween laughs. "Cutie mark!" He once again let out giant guffaws, clutching his gut. "L-Lyra! Why would, y-you do h-her." "I didn't do it!" I spat out, pulling my pants back up. My vision went blurry for a second, then his laughter turned into little giggles as he looked into my eyes. He stared into them for a while, which made me uncomfortable. "Um, Matt?" I say, waving my hand in front of his face. "Your eyes are..." He says, still staring into them. "Huh?" Alex and Katie move to my front. Both of their eyes went wide. "I'll get a mirror." Katie says, running inside. A second later she return with a small handheld mirror. I grab it and bring it to my face. My eyes where bright yellow. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chaper... whatever //-------------------------------------------------------// Chaper... whatever AN- okay, since Im lazy and haven't been on for a while, Im gonna skip a few chapters. I need to catch up with the main story, so Im just gonna pretty much tell you what was supposed to happen, and I'll write those chapters when I feel like it. So whats supposed to happen is... *spoiler alert* They have the morning where they wake up ponies and all the AAHHHH IM A HORSE stuff. Alex turns into my OC cherrycloud, amy turns into lyra, Matt turns into thunderlane. One day cherrycloud and thunderlane try to fly, but cherry get blown away by a small gust of wind, and is blown farther away once landing on a cloud. (follow her story in 'gentle breeze of change') They all go the try and find cherry then end up seeing the main story characters at the park with 'starbreezer'. They split up again, thunderlane going for cherry, lyra and Katie following the other ponies. L+K lose the ponies, and shelter in an alley for the night. That's where Im starting... Faint streaks of sunlight danced across my black vision. Muttering a blurred "five more minutes" I rolled over on my side and covered my face with my hand. I was able to lay there peacefully before I felt a hoof prodding my in the side. I reluctantly opened my deep green eyes and glared at the minty unicorn standing above me. I sat up and stretched. "You're finally up" Lyra grinned, sitting back on her haunches. I gave her a drowsy nod. "I have to show you something," She grinned even larger, tapping her horn, " I figured out how to use it." Those words made me really wake up. "Its about time!" I said excitedly, "All that thing has dome so far is create little sparks that set out dinner on fire once." I crossed my arms, and Lyra gave a pink blush. "Well, I learned how to levitate small things, watch this." She brought her gaze to a small rock. She shut her eyes and concentrated. A gold light surrounded her horn, and soon the rock. Lyra scrunched her eyes harder and sweat rolled down her forehead. Soon I saw the rock slowly rising. My mouth gaped open. The rock was floating in mid-air! It moved around in small circles, and two more smaller rocks lifted about an inch. Lyra let out a gasp soon after and the rocks dropped to the ground. I could her muttering something about headaches. I gave her a smile. "That was awesome!" I congratulated her, " how long did it take you to figure out that?" She blushed, "I just had a dream about it, that's all." I cocked my head, but she didn't notice. "We should keep moving," she insisted, "I don't want to lose them like we did when they went to the park to meet that guy." I rolled my eyes. "Fine." I curled up tighter, while feeling something jabbing me in the side. I was able to hear the thing say something like, "beshychoub," and didn't pay any attention. The thing prodded my harder and I was able to hear what it was saying more clearly, it sounded excited. "Cherrycloud!" At hearing my name I gave the stranger a look, and widened my eyes at who it was. "Thunderlane!" I shouted happily, "Thank celestia you guys finally came!" I stood up and glanced back at my not-very-comfortable bed of cement with a newspaper pillow. Thunderlane followed my gaze. "Wow, must've been hard sleeping somewhere like that." He sat and pointed a hoof to the sky. "The clouds are much better. I raised my eyebrow. "Last time I checked you couldn't fly." He gave a blush, "Well I was practicing a little on the way here, Im not to good yet, but I can reach the clouds sometimes." I smirked.I was wondering when I would be able to show off.I thought. "Watch this," I spread my wings and gave them a few flapps to get rid of the stiffness from last night. I raised them high and gave a mighty heave. I felt the ground disappear below me and I gave another flap, not as strong as the last one. I glanced down at thunderlane, and my mouth dropped open almost more than his. I didn't know I was so high! I looked upward again and murmured to myself "don't look down" and I kept flapping. Soon I found a soft ball of white in front of me. I gave one last flap and landed gently on the cloud. I leaned over and stuck my tongue out at thunderlane. He rolled his eyes. I grabbed the cloud and slowly fluttered down with it. Soon my hooves touched the ground again and I put the cloud down. I glanced at thunderlane, whos jaw was all the way to the concrete floor. I couldn't surpress a giggle. Finally his jaw shut and he stumbled for words. "How did-where could-since when-I don't-Whaa?" I shrugged,"I met some other ponies and they showed me what to do." His mouth gaped open again. "You found others!?" He shouted, waving his hooves in the air, "Why didn't you bring them!?" I shrugged again, "They had a house and everything, it seemed mean to take it all away just for my sake." He huffed and muttered something under his breath. Then he turned and glanced down the sidewalk. "We're lucky its night, otherwise all this shouting would draw attention, and Im pretty sure we've at least woken one person up." I nodded in agreement, then suddenly a thought popped into my head. "Wheres Katie and Lyra?" I asked, realizing for the first time they weren't here. Thunderlane kept glancing from side to side as he answered. "We split up, those two went after some other ponies. I came to find you." I opened my mouth to give an angry reply, then realized that's what I would've done too. I sighed and looked at thunderlanes flank. It still bore the thundercloud with lightning. I gazed back at my own flank. It was a spoon and a spatula crossed, with an ice cream cone above them with a cherry, and had wings sprouting from the sides of the cone. I smiled to myself. The others were confused about it, but I somehow knew what it meant. The spoon and spatula are my love for baking, but since they're crossed like swords it also shows my competitive spirit. The criss crossed lines on the cone represent my mixed personality, but its all covered up by a layer of sweet. The cherry shows I always like to top it off with a big finish. And the wings aren't because Im good at flying, but instead I can take a simple idea and make it better so it kinda, takes flight. I grinned, and looked back at thunderlane, who seemed done thinking of a way to move. "Okay, so if we stay to the shadows, we would only have a chance of being seen where there are light gaps. My guess is that they're either staying at some crappy hotel or something, or an isolated house. if we can find some sort of-" He was cut off as a pink blur flashed by us. I got a quick peek at what it was. I think thunderlane saw it too. He muttered, "That's one of the ponies." He sprng to his hooves and began to gallop after the pink pony. I spread my wings and followed him in the air. Somehow, we lost her. I heard thunderlane cursing to himself, while I looked around for any traces the pony may have made. I couldn't find any clues as to where she was going, but I found some tracks that showed where she came. I landed next to some mud. There were hoof tracks in it, too big to be mine, but too small to be thunderlanes. I glanced over my shoulder to see him approaching me. "How could we have lost her!" He growled angrily, "we were so close!" "Well, there are occasional mud puddles, and she seems to have stepped in some." I signaled to the puddle with the hoof prints. "If we followed them we could find out where she was living, cause Im pretty sure you said there was more than one." He grinned at the plan and nodded eagerly. I glanced down the sidewalk and saw the next puddle. I thought to myself, We'll figure this out soon, I can just feel it.
