//-------------------------------------------------------// Lonely Roads -by Silentecho- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Born //-------------------------------------------------------// Born Hey, I'm Dusty Night. I am a pegasus stallion. My coat is dusty brown and I have light blue eyes. I live happily and safely with my mate and a few friends. But I'm not here to talk about myself. No, no I'm here to tell you the story of a unicorn mare who lived through hell, don't worry though, she still lives. Now she just brings hell to the ones who deserve it. She does have a few partners in "crime". Everyone who knows of her, calls her Kor. She is the silent and mysterious catalyst of the Mojave desert. Kor's story needs to be told before it is forgotten. I remember the day so clearly. I was twenty five and still my father's apprentice. He was the doctor of our small town, Goodsprings. And one day I was going to be a doctor to, I was going to follow in his hoof steps. My dad was once a spry, young, navy blue stallion and age has only made him experienced, smooth, but faded. His black mane and tail now had streaks of grey and his coat was ticked with growing white and grey hairs. His eyes though, they never changed. They were always this light blue color that never faded. I shared his eyes, and his large structure. Besides that, we have nothing else in common. We looked nothing alike. He was a unicorn and I was a pegasus, he hated being a doctor but I loved being a doctor. Name: Dark River Cutie Mark: Three golden bits on a black clipboard I look a lot like my mother. She was a light dusty pink with crimson red eyes. Her mane was mostly white with thin red stripes to match her eyes. Her carefully braided tail matched her mane. She was small in size and her wings were soft to the touch and comforting. She was soft spoken and understanding, but if anyone lays a hoof on either my brother, my father, or I then she would turn into a bull. She would literally plow down the enemy. I shared my mother's downy feathers. Name: Crimson Dust Cutie Mark: Red Teddy Bear with Bull Horns My little brother wasn't really little. He was taller then me and he was a unicorn. He's five years younger then I. He's blue like our father and shares the same red eyes as our mother.  His mane and tail were shaggy and the black of his mane was constantly mixed with the red. He was always the comedic in my family but he was very intimidating when he wanted. He was still a bachelor but I saw the way he looked at Nuka Rose. Name: Crimson River Cutie Mark: A Black Knife with Red Dripping from the Blade with a Red Trickling Puddle at the Bottom Nuka Rose helps... err... helped Sunny Smiles kill geckos over at the wells. Nuka was a bright green unicorn/zebra mare with bright pink stripes. Her eyes and mane matched her stripes as well as her hooves. Her body structure, the way she carried herself, her type of skills in fighting matched the ways of a Zebra. The only thing that separated her from other Zebras, was the horn that sat on her head. Name: Nuka Rose Cutie Mark: A Pink Rose with Thorns Dripping Green Liquid Sunny Smiles is a bright, yellow earth pony. Her mane and tail are tan with a few white stripes. She has a small, but lean body type. She is a skilled gun mare and is still waiting for the perfect stallion to come along. Name: Sunny Smiles Cutie Mark: A White Sun Wearing Aviators with a Shot Gun I, for one, am not single. I have a beautiful mate. Her white coat is usually pristine and rarely looks dusty. Her mane and tail are a luxurious, bright blue and her eyes look like large, pink crystals. Her muzzle is dainty and her horn is sharp. It was said that she was related to one of the Ministry Mares, and I have no doubt about that. Name: Crystal Creek Cutie Mark: Three Pink Diamonds She gave birth to a dark grey colt, whom also has downy wings like his grandmother and I. His mane and tail are silver with cool, blue streaks that match my eyes. His eyes also match mine. On this day, he was two years old. Name: Stirling Rain Cutie Mark: Three Silver Rain Drops with Light Blue Outlines and a Shadow of a Knife and a Handgun As I said before, I can remember the day clearly. A small breeze blew dust and entered into the immaculate wooden house through the broken window. A framed landscape of a sparkling blue creek hidden deep within a dark green forest hung on the wall. A freshly dusted rug decorated the floor. Labored breaths came from a slightly smaller room. Also wooden but without a rug to cover the bare wooden floor. A nightstand adjourned each side of the bed. A panting, aqua unicorn struggling to not scream out. A large, male, earth pony held unto his mate's light purple and aqua hoof. The mare's short, light purple mane, the same as the tips of her hooves, hung limply around her face. The pale pink headband failing at its job. Her bright green eyes closed tightly as another spasm went through her lower body. My father clenched his teeth, Kor's birth was taking a toll on both him and the mare. I waited alongside him. Warm water, scissors, and clean towels waiting by me, ready to be used.  "Push Brook, push. The foal's almost out." The mare, also known as Lavender Brook, let out one elongated scream as her back arched and the foal safely slid into Dark River's hooves. A sigh escaped her lips, as she let out slight pants. Hours of labor, finally paid off. The doctor cut the umbilical cord and handed me the foal. Brook's afterbirth would come out a bit later but that has nothing, whatsoever to do with the story. Lavender Brook stared up at the dark brown and white stallion. Happiness practically glowed in his brown eyes. His name was Fertile Ashes. "I'm so proud of you hun." They touched muzzles. His well portioned out head and muzzle and her soft yet sharp looking muzzle, nuzzled together. The sunlight coming through the high window, swirls of dust softly trying to settle. After that, Ash put his forehead against hers. His short black mane mixing in with her purple mane. It was a beautiful sight to watch. It reminded me of when Crystal gave birth to Stirling Rain. I gently washed the filly and took the mucus out of her mouth so that she could have her first breath of life. I finally dried her and she looked at me with this giant, dark green eyes. Curiosity and wonder filling them as she reached her hoof up to touch my face. Long, beautiful eyelashes adding to her beauty. A horn protruded from her forehead. It was already hardening, the sign of a healthy, unicorn foal. The first words I said to her were, "You are the most beautiful filly that I have ever seen born." The words still ring true. My father gave me the look that he was leaving and I was left to clean up the mess. I didn't mind though. I stretched out my wing and I allowed the foal, Kor, to grab unto it with both of her hooves. She tried to rub the side of her face against one of the feathers. I let out a small chuckle and brought the couple their first foal. "Congratulations," I whispered, "It's a girl." I careful hoofed over Kor. Lavender Brook lifted the baby away from me and looked into her foal's eyes. Ash climbed into the bed with her and put his forearm around her. All they could do was stare in amazement. They couldn't believe that they created this gorgeous foal. The little filly was bright pink/red. A bit of faded silver covered her muzzle, giving her a wise appearance. Her hooves were the same silver and had slight feathering. I have no doubt that the feathering would grown out like Kor's father's feathering.  Her rump was also covered with silver markings. Very common for a pony with Mustang and Appaloosian bloodlines. Her ears looked sharp, with tufts at the top. I'm very sure that they were super soft. Her mane and tail were the same dark green as her eyes, except they had red stripes. "She's so perfect," the aqua mare finally shuddered. "That she is, my dash of Lavender flavored honey," the stallion whispered. They nuzzled again as the mare slightly rocked her foal back and forth, failing to notice that the afterbirth had left her. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have to clean up your bedroom of this mess. I also recommend that you take a shower as soon as possible. You do understand the dangers if a predator was to smell a fresh birthing," I gave them a concerned look. "Of course Dusty," the mare hesitantly gave Kor to her husband and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. I quietly started cleaning up and disinfecting the room. Kor let out a small sneeze, a reaction quite normal due to the strong smell.  "I never thought I'd be a father," he looked at me with tears in his eyes. "Neither did I," I smiled back at him. Brook came back before I was finished, I sniffed her and deemed her thoroughly clean. Ash gave her the foal as he went to take his turn in the shower. By the time he finished his shower, I had the room spick and span, the same with any sheets or towels used. Kor was already be nursed by her mother. "What do you want to name her," I asked the couple. "She's so beautiful, like a rose," the aqua blue mare answered. "I bet she's gonna be a knock out when she grows up," chuckled Ash. The married couple looked at each other, "So lets name her Knock Out Rose," the earth stallion answered. "Knock Out Rose," whispered the mare, "Welcome to Fallout: Equestria." //-------------------------------------------------------// The Fist Atempt //-------------------------------------------------------// The Fist Atempt "KNOCK OUT ROSE YOU COME HERE THIS INSTANT!" Mrs. Brook had a very frazzled mane. For the past six months, Kor didn't deem to much of a problem. She was quiet and liked to observe everything that she hasn't seen before. Somepony didn't realize how difficult a unicorn foal can be once that stage passed. Her pink head band, yet again, seemed to fail at it's intended purpose. Kor teleported to the other side of the room, determined to not be caught. Brook tried to catch her with her telekinesis but a unicorn foal's magic is much more powerful then that of an adult. Until the foal's third birthday, Brook and Ash would have to deal with a troublesome filly. The silly filly gurgled a few undecipherable words and teleported out of her mother's grip. A strange smell came from Kor as she giggled. Someone left a present for her mommy in the diaper. "Rose you come here this instant!" Brook gave her a stern expression. The foal gave her a pouty look and crawled over to her mother. The mare lifted the pink/red foal with her telekinesis and carried her into the bedroom. She undid the diaper and a disgusted look appeared on her face. "Geez, what do you eat?" "Well I would think your milk," smirked the earth pony that walked in. "Hey Ash," sighed the aqua mare. "Well at least she's living up to the knock out part of her name," he chuckled. The mare soon let out a small giggle, "She defiantly is. Did you know that she kicked Dusty in the jaw yesterday? He told me that he thought he was going to black out." Yes, if you were wondering, she has a very strong kick. I really felt the earth pony bloodlines kick in. No pun intended. On the bright side, Sr, short for Stirling Rain, defiantly enjoyed her company. He couldn't stop giggling the whole time. Anyways, back to the couple. "She'll def be a good fighter then, won't you, you little poopsy," he laughed blowing raspberries on the stomach of the freshly changed filly. All Kor could do was let out some high pitched shrieking and small little chortles. Ash and Brook climbed unto the bed after the diaper was disposed of. The good thing about foals is that they get tired quickly. They lied on their bellies and put Kor near their heads. The foal's eyes started closing as she put her hooves onto Ash's muzzle and she hung on, as if she feared that he would leave her alone. The couple looked into each other's eyes and let out a sigh of relief. The three ponies drifted off to a peaceful slumber. Ash woke up with a start. His aqua mate was quietly snuggled up to his pink/red foal. He heard low voices outside trying to shut each other up. His dark eyes narrowed. Thankfully the windows in the bedroom were set high up and had strong, steel bars protecting his treasured family. He gently shook his wife away. She looked at him with bleary eyes. Brook saw him put his hoof to his mouth, gesturing her to not make a sound. Her eyes widened as her ears swiveled and caught the voices outside. "Lock the room and hide," he mouthed as he slowly climbed out of their bed. He winced as it slightly groaned from the shifting weight. Brook stayed on the bed, the hinges of the room squeaked slightly as he left the room. Brook locked the door with magic. The mare barely noticing that she was shaking as she picked up her foal and took her to the closet. She locked the closet from the inside and climbed through a small trap door on the wall. The sleeping filly still in her grip. Brook locked the hidden door and careful settled Kor into her hooves. Her horn glowed green again as she sent a telepathic message to Crimson Dust and Nuka Rose. "Help. Danger. Hiding. Ash went to investigate. Please. Come. Soon." She heard a crash and a grunt. "Please don't let that be Ash. Make it be the intruders," she whispered. Ash tried to quietly close the door, but the hinges couldn't resist to let out a tiny creak. He waited as still as a statue until her heard the door lock and the closet door to lock. He let out a sigh of relief. At least they were safe and help would get here before the intruders would get to his family. Not the same could be said for him. At least he could stall the intruders. He tip toed to the middle of the room, not an easy feat for a large, earth pony He breathed in quietly and deeply and slowly exhaled. He sat on the couch, after he put on his knife bracelets. He flicked both fetlocks as a knife slid out from each bracelet. He breathed in deeply, some pony rammed the door, over and over again. He heard a kick and watched as his door splinted in half towards him. A large earth pony walked in. His coloring was that of dry blood and his mane and tail were even darker. If one would observe closely, they would see dark stripes covering his body. Traditional Zebra armor protected him. Suggesting that he was a follower of the Empire. A grin allowed the stallions pearly whites to flash in the full moon. "You know, I think it's very rude of you to  just break someone's door like that," Ash grunted roughly to the other earth pony. Two slightly smaller unicorns flanked the supposed Zebra, who was mistaken for an earth pony. They were both dark grey with white stripes. Mohawks adjourned their heads. If looked further beyond, a pegasus zebra and another earth pony zebra flanked the unicorns. One was silver with black markings and the pegasus was dark blue with silver markings. "So do you all paint those stripes on, or are those saved for the pets," sneered Ash. The large zebra walked over to him. "No, and we're here to capture all the mares in your town." Ash growled and lunged towards the zebra's throat. Red magic enveloped him and threw him to the other side of the room. He landed on a small table and a vase flew off, breaking once it made contact with the floor. "I wouldn't recommend that," he snickered, "Scar can be pretty protective of me. Ash opened his eyes with a slight groan. "Think that's gonna knock me out," he got up on his hooves and stared at the intruders. "I don't like it when random pieces of shit enter my premises and try to take over," the earth pony growled. The female Zebra unicorn smiled darkly at him, "and we don't like it when our victims get up to fight, but I guess we can't get it easy in life." A red aurora engulfed him again and flung him across the room, his head smashing into the wall. "That's how it's done," she smirked at her crowd, only to find four ponies in the room. The last zebra taken care of. A blue unicorn with a shaggy black and red mane walked up to her, and slit her throat. "Nuka, check out Ash. Make sure he wakes up and gets treated," he said calmly. A lime green mare with pink stripes walked up to him. "What pony in their right mind would come into a town where they're bound to get killed," red eyes scanned the head of the dead mare known as Scar. "Not a pony, a zebra from the empire," snarled Nuka Rose, her green eyes practically smoldering with anger. Nuka looked at Crimson, "I'll go find Brook." The unicorn zebra walked away, going straight to the bedroom. The door was splintered open. A dark earth pony searching under the bed, got up suddenly. "What a coincidence, Thorn. I didn't know you lived here." "My name is Nuka Rose now. This is my friends' home and I ask of you to leave," she said with cool calmness. "Oh come on now Thorn, remember us? Remember me?" "Well your us, are all lying dead outside and I remember being a slave. Raped every single day by your stallions once I reached of age" her voice so sharp that it could cut through glass. She kicked him, and then jumped to the other side of the room. Each move was fluid and full of grace. The stallion smiled, "I see you still remember how to fight." Both ponies were now standing on their hind legs. Each throwing a precise move. Yet none of those hits landed on either attacker. "KOR NO!"  A dark green aura suddenly picked up the stallion and threw him against the wall. Knocked unconscious. The little unicorn filly starred up into Nuka's surprised eyes. "Nice," was only word Nuka managed to get out. The green and pink mare looked over to her friend, a horrified look settled on her face. "I'll take the body outside," the lavender maned mare nodded her head slightly. Revenge is Sweet. Don't worry, none of the ponies were hurt. The zebra's bodies were burned and the good guys escaped with no scratches.
