The Vampires Of Equestria
Prologue Chapter - New Generation
-Manehatten, Down Town-
Hey there. My name is Viola. I'm a female pegasus living in the city of Manehatten. Well I say live, but I haven't been truly alive for a long time. I "live" in the alley ways and in the corners. Wherever I can sleep is where I live. My family died a long time ago, leaving me all alone. I feed off what I can find, namely drunken ponies who lost their way.
Yeah, you heard me right. I'm a vampire. One of the first of the new generation actually. Unfortunately, I was 14 when I turned. I still look as young as I did all those years ago. I have a black mane, styled to cover my left eye. I also have a blood red coat and a cutie mark of a violin. I wanted to become a musician when I was younger.
Look how that turned out.
Right now, I was lying on the ground in an alley way deep down town with my eyes shut and a hoodie over my head. Unfortunately, I was hungry. I was waiting for some drunken idiot to walk by so I could get a bite. Of course the city was on high alert for the amount of ponies I've killed, but they couldn't hurt me anyway. What would they do, lock me up? I could bust outta anywhere. Gotta love super strength. Besides that, I'm fast. I could be here one second then be somewhere else the next. Gotta love super speed.
But I hate the immortality and the thirst. I had to watch as my family grew older and I stayed young. I've had many coltfriends. Right now, I was single. I didn't want any more heart break. I've felt enough pain for a while.
I heard hoofsteps and raised my head slightly, my crimson eyes shone in the moonlight. I watched as a drunken stallion staggered on the street, trying to stabilize himself with anything he could grab. I smiled wickedly, my fangs showing. I stood up from my position and whistled to him. Slowly, he turned his head to me.
He saw me for a brief second, before I blurred from his vision and appeared on the opposite side of him. I shoved him into the alley way with a great amount of force. He tripped over a few boxes and landed on his flanks, scooting away from me in horror. I walked up to him casually, smiling with my fangs showing.
When I reached him, I pinned him to the ground using a hoof while with my other one I turned his head to the left. He was mine now. Leaping for his neck, I bit hard and deep. I heard him gasp as his delicious juices flowed into my mouth. I began draining him of his life liquid. I sighed with relief as my hunger was quenched. I let go of his limp body and watched it fall to the ground. I always hated myself after I fed. I never wanted to hurt anypony. But when I'm hungry, I just get like that.
I stood up and looked to the streets. I've had enough of this place. Dark, dirty, wet and cold almost all the time. I wish I was somewhere else. I wish I was a normal teenager...
-Fillydelphia-
"Look, boys! It's the scary vampire~!"
Ignore those morons. They're just trying to get me angry. So, what's up? The name is Cobalt Blaze. I'm a teenage new generation vampire living in Fillydelphia and currently I am getting harassed by a group of idiots. Rumours have been going around about ponies being murdered by blood loss and these guys were blaming me. They had no evidence, but I couldn't say they were wrong.
So yeah, I am a unicorn with a light blue coat and an orange mane that was always flared up. My cutie mark was two gears. They represent my intellect, the gears being the ones in my head.
"Look out, he might kill ya!"
Ugh. I was sitting down on the park bench minding my own business when these simpletons came along. I don't know what they find so great about making my day bad, but they did it a lot. Of course, nothing they said made me genuinely angry.
"Maybe he killed his family! What a psycho!"
Okay, that drove me over the edge. Grunting, I gripped the bench I was sitting on and threw it straight at the stallion and his little gang. They tried dodging it but it was going too fast for them. The bench flipped and smashed into them, leaving them lying on the ground in pain.
I only turned a few years ago. When my parents found out, they tried helping me through it all. They didn't want to just abandon me like a lost cause. They wanted to help me. One day, I accidently broke a window, cutting my hoof in the process. My mum rushed into the room and started yelling at me while my hoof was bleeding.
This caused me to get angry, and hungry. I killed my mother right then and there, lapping at the pool of blood forming under her. My father ran in and tried stopping me, to no avail. I punched him in the jaw, knocking it clean off. I sat there in shock as both my parents were lying on the floor of my house dead.
I stared at the ponies squirming under the bench for a few seconds before turning and walking down the streets of this god forsaken city.
-Las Pegasus-
I watched from across the street as stallion after stallion ran into the casino and come back moments later with a look of defeat on their faces. Heh. Why do they think they'll win? I'll never understand.
Hi, my name is Jewels. I'm an earth pony with a light red coat and royal blue mane, which is always curled up. My cutie mark is a ruby, sapphire and emerald. Representing my love for gems and other such precious items. I own a small fortune due to my habit of looting my...victims.
I'm a part of the new generation of vampires, which contains a large amount of teenagers. I was 17 when I turned so it was quite terrifying for me.
I feel no shame from killing my victims. They are lesser then I, mere mortals. I am ashamed however at my lust for jewellery and precious items.
But...all that greed and power come with a price. My immortal state prevents me from having a partner in life. Watching them grow old as I stay young? Thats torture. I've had coltfriends before, but they all died eventually.
I sighed and walked down the crowded streets of the city. As I start, a hoof taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to be greeted by a stallion with a white mane and coat. He was wearing a black suit with a red tie.
"Excuse me, miss. Have you seen anything strange lately?"
I had no idea why he was asking me of all ponies such a strange question. I shook my head with a smile.
"No, sir. Is there something wrong?"
He nodded to me and turned around, walking in the opposite direction of me. What? That was certainly weird. I turn back around and continue my trek home.
-Ponyville-
What's up? Names Break. I'm a new gen vampire earth pony livin' in Ponyville. I've been here for as long as I can remember. My parents kinda abandoned me and left me to die when I turned. Too bad you can't kill me. Trust me. I tried.
The ponies 'round here are real nice to me though. I don't have a specific place to live, I live all over the place. They don't treat me badly or anythin', so in return I don't feed on them. I instead feed off what I can find in the Everfree. Nopony would care if a few animals went missin', right?
Ah, whatever. I have a brown coat and a jet black mane, which looked like it went through a tornado. I don't have a cutie mark and I don't care. I'm happy just livin' here.
"Excuse me, sir."
Hm? I turned to the strange voice with a bottle'a whiskey in my hoof. Not tellin' where I got it.
"Have you seen anything suspicious lately?"
What? Man, I can't see anything! I'm too damn drunk! I squint my eyes and see a stallion with a white coat and mane wearing' a black suit with black glasses.
"Nah, man. Nothin' at all."
He nodded to me and went on his way. The buck was that? Meh, who cares?
Shruggin', I throw my head back and drink my whiskey without signs of stoppin' any time soon. I had a job as a mail stallion, but I only carried the heavy stuff. Ponies were baffled at my incredibly amazing strength. I occasionally goofed off and got some liquor, causin' trouble in my path. But I wasn't a horrible pony. Nah.
But, who was that pony back there? He looked strange. Ah, well. Nothin' I give a buck about. Although, he seemed familiar....
