An army of blank-eyed ponies has been marching through Equestria for years, well after Twilight became an Alicorn. At first, nothing major happened. Maybe a few incidents reported as unusual brutality. But then the mayor's office was stormed by armed invaders bearing a skull banner with the letters "DB" on its forehead who took the mayor hostage, causing an uproar between the leaders of Equestria. Soon, other places of political importance were attacked, and Equestria began to fall apart. Celestia and her sister Luna ordered any and all survivors to an ancient bunker found by Twilight in the Everfree Forest to wait out the invasion.

You were off on an errand when the order was given, and thus, you never made it to the bunker. For two months, you've been scrounging what you can find in order to stay alive in the wasteland that used to be Equestria, and in doing so have stumbled across many journals left by ponies who died before the takeover. In each of these journals, you've found they know something of the invaders, but never got the chance to tell anypony else... Perhaps if you find where the princesses are and bring these journals to them with details regarding these invaders, then perhaps there's a chance that Equestria could be rebuilt.
