Applejack finds herself thrown in the midst of a violent outbreak of murders in Equestria when she discovers that one of her friends has become a victim. A strange stallion reveals to her connections between the unheard-of massacre and her best friends, and seeks her help in stopping them for good. All the while, a new threat to Equestria begins to surface, one connected to the two ponies in a way unknown to either of them.
