Rarity's Drama and a Missing Twlight
An alarm clock rings. Rarity rises from her blindfolded slumber at Carousel Boutique and lets loose a hearty yawn. “My, what a beautiful slumber that was.” Rarity removes her blindfold and looks to an end table to her left. Rarity gasps. “Oh no!” Rarity’s eyes widen. “8:15?! Oh dear, no! I must have been so exhausted last night that I set my alarm clock to 8:15am, rather than eight o’clock on the dot!” Rarity springs out of bed and rushes to her dresser. Rarity’s horn glows a bright blue as she floats a brush to her mane. “I am going to be late. So so so late!” Rarity exclaims while she brushes her mane to it’s usual curled up style. Rarity then zips to a variety of dainty outfits; complete with hats. “Which one do I wear? Ohh which one?”
Rarity begins to sweat. “I cannot decide what to wear for the bi-weekly picnic! Which I am going to be late for! Oh of all the terrible things that could happen, this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!!” Rarity drags a couch beside her and faints into it.
Not far from Carousel Boutique, a picnic has already been set up at the park in Ponyville. Applejack sets a picnic basket down. The contents of the basket include apple pies, fritters, juice, and a myriad of apple goodies. Rainbow Dash hovers lazily in the air. “What the hay is taking Rarity so long? She’s usually here in like, 10 seconds after 8:15.” She says with agitation.
“Aw, relax Rainbow. Ah’m sure Rarity will be here before ya can clear the clouds outta the sky.” Applejack says, looking up at the clouds. “Ya were supposed tah clear them up when we got here, sugarcube.”
Rainbow Dash rolls her eyes. “Yeah yeah. I got it.” Rainbow takes to the sky, a brilliant multicolored streak in her wake.
Pinkie Pie bounces around the picnic area. “Speaking of being late, Twilight should have been here too right? I mean, duuuh! She planned this morning picnic!” Pinkie giggles.
Lying on the picnic blanket, Fluttershy pets a squirrel. “U-um, Applejack?” Fluttershy raises her right hoof.
“Yea Fluttershy?” Applejack looks at her while sitting.
“U-um, may I give an apple to this squirrel?” Fluttershy holds the squirrel up. “I-I mean, if it’s okay. I don’t want to be r-rude.” Fluttershy says quietly.
Applejack blinks. “Sorry Fluttershy. You know what Twilight said; no eating until ev’rypony is here. “
Fluttershy and the squirrel share a frown. “O-oh, right.” Fluttershy looks up to the sky, watching Rainbow Dash clear the clouds from the sky.
Applejack looks around. “Say, didn’t ya remember to invite Discord to the picnic Fluttershy?” Applejack asks.
“O-of course. But…umm…” Fluttershy’s ears droop.
“What is it Fluttershy? Don’t tell us that Discord is going to be late too!” Pinkie stops bouncing.
Before Fluttershy can open her mouth to reply, Rainbow Dash lands on the picnic blanket in between her and Pinkie Pie.
“Who cares if he’s coming or not? Even though he showed a pretty soft side before, we still need to keep an eye on him. Remember?” Rainbow remarks.
“As much as ah don’t normally agree with Dash, ah have tah agree with ‘er this time sugarcube.” Applejack nods her head.
“I-I…I guess you’re right.” Fluttershy sighs. “B-but um…I don’t think he’s coming a-anyway. He told me that he doesn’t go to “girly meet-ups”.”
“That’s Discord for ya. Too cool for picnics.” Rainbow Dash smirks.
Applejack stares at Rainbow Dash. “Ah don’t mean to pry RD, but yer not exactly a fan of girly picnics yerself.” Applejack winks. Pinkie and Fluttershy giggle.
Rainbow’s eyes widen. “No comment.”
“…” Pinkie looks in the direction of Carousel Boutique. “I wonder what Rarity is doing?”
