Chapter 2: Bonds Of Trust

     "Get away!"

     "Shoo! Vile vermin..."

     These were the two most common responses that Royal got from the residents of ponyville. Surprisingly, none of the people he asked had been at the party, but nevertheless it didn't seem they wanted to help him. Finally, Royal saw a pink horse trot by the mob he was gathering of the few people that WOULD help him. Most of them were just kind travelers on their way through ponyville. They all muttered as Royal dismissed them and went silently to follow the pink horse that he saw from last night. This was his best shot at apologizing.

    Nothing of interest passed them by as Royal crept silently behind Pinkie Pie as they finally arrived at what seemed to be a tree converted to a building. He stopped when Pinkie strangely knocked on the door with her head. Royal just blinked rapidly, as if the scene before him did nothing to gather his attention. Finally ,(I use that word a lot), the wooden door opened and a dark purple unicorn opened the door and invited Pinkie inside. Now is where things get difficult for Royal. He decided to climb up on the window and press his ear to it and listen in on what they were saying.

            "I am such a genius." Royal said aloud, hoping that the duo of mares inside could not hear him. Which they didn't, because Twilight (The dark purple unicorn described before.) always keeps her windows sound-proofed. Unless something crashes into it.

            Anyhow, Royal waited anxiously for them to start speaking, and when they finally did, he pressed his ear to the window to hear what they had to say.

           "Twilight, I have to tell you about something that happened last night.." Pinkie began, a frown forming as she said this.

           "Sure Pinkie, tell me anything." responded Twilight, a look of concern on her face.

           "Well...Last night I threw a surprise party for a dude named Royal; you know, one of those humans..." Pinkie Paused for a moment, her eyes began to get moist.

           "Oh Twilight, if only I had know...When he came home, he acted normal at first...But then as I began talking to him, he told me to get out all of a sudden and pulled some kind of gun out of his right pocket...Then he fired into the ceiling and told everyone ,including me, to get out and called me a bitch and a pink abomination.."

           Pinkie began lightly crying and slowly escalated into a loud bawl. Twilight tried her best to comfort her.

           "Oh Pinkie...It'll be alright. You know, this is sorta like that case when that donkey came into town. You couldn't make him smile at first, but when you kept trying, and with a little persistence..you got him to smile and make him happy." Twilight said reassuringly.

           Pinkie's crying subsided finally after some more convincing, and Pinkie thanked her good friend, as a smile re-appeared across her face, and left out the door. Well, Royal had heard enough of this and jumped down feet-first (he has very strong legs), and ran up to catch pinkie.

           "Pinkie, wait! It's me, Royal! Remember?.." said Royal, catching breath a little bit as the mare had covered quite a distance in a very short amount of time.

          Pinkie whipped around and her smile grew even bigger now that she saw a now smiling Royal. She ran up to hug him as so did he. The two embraced the hug for as long as possible, as finally Royal broke the hug and nodded his head as he told her all about how he was sorry for threatening her, and calling her all those mean words. Then, Royal asked where she worked, and then Pinkie nodded her head and then motioned her to follow him.

~~~
          Pinkie began showing Royal all around the small, but colorful bakery where she lived and worked. She introduced him to Mr. and Ms. Cake. She showed him her pet alligator gummy, and even offered him a free cupcake, which he declined. Finally (there's that word again), Royal told her that he needed to get home, which he did, but just before he did, he gave her one last big hug, and walked on home into the afternoon sun.
~~~

         On his way home, Royal noticed something...odd about his home. There was a note on his front door. Royal approached the note, and silently began reading it. It read as follows.

Dear Mr. Royal, you have been invited to the grand galloping galla one week from today. Pack your bags, and bring your best suit, your going to canterlot! Signed, Princess Celestia.

         If Royal could smile bigger, he would have stretched his mouth. He jumped in the air, and landed back down with a loud "WOO-HOO!" as a neighbor looked out from a window and politely asked him to quite down. Royal nodded and apologize as he opened his front door, and closed it behind him as he breathed a silent "YES!" into the air. Royal learned early in his childhood to pack early and ready. Which he did and placed the duffel bag (the bag in which he packed his stuff in), in his closet. Royal went to bed being a very, very happy man.

        Far off on the canterlot castle, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were busy planning the newest grand galloping galla. And hopefully it won't end up like last time. As Princess Celestia was busy ordering her guards on placing things, her sister was checking the guest list one final time. Her hoof rested upon one certain name: Royal Von Parker. (Royal's full name.)

        "Er, sister? Why is there a human listed on here? I thought this event was ponies-ONLY?"

        Celestia turned around and nodded her head.

        "Yes, I know, but I want rights for everypony. Pony or not, I don't care." she responded.

        "But sister!" snapped back Luna, "This human is known to carry a dangerous weapon! Why let him of all humans bring THIS into the grand galloping galla?!"

         Celestia closed her eyes briefly, and then opened them and responded.

         "I shall ask him personally to give the gun to one of the guards, and have Twilight Sparkle and her friends to keep an eye on him."

         Now it was Luna's turn to nod.

         "Okay...If it's your wish, then I have no problem with it."

         And with that, Luna turned in the guest list to one of the party planners also there with the guards and construction workers, and not another word was spoken of this infamous human known as: Royal.
