//-------------------------------------------------------// When You're a Pony... -by Shores2510- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Sudden Change of Life //-------------------------------------------------------// A Sudden Change of Life I was just an ordinary human being. A plain, normal, teenager who wished for the best for his life. I wasn't famous, popular, none of that. Just ordinary, nothing special...... and I wished I could make my life better. Sure, I could play an instrument, had my own computer and TV, and had many great, exciting memories, but those rarely happened to me. My home town wasn't very interesting either. Nothing very crazy happened there, just a few cool events, but nothing like "rock concerts" and "conventions" and all that. The only things that entertained me were my musical life, video games, and watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. What? You never heard of a GUY who watched that show? Well, you see, I was a brony. Bronies are males who like to watch the popular cartoon, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. You will not believe how many bronies there are in the world. So many, believe me. Anyway, that was my life. Boring. I never thought things would get any better for me. ~~~~~~ It was a weekend. The couple of days where I could take a break from the work I do on the weekdays. I never really did much on weekends. Just mostly computer games and chilling on the internet. Lot's of brony-related activity is on there. All of this just made me wish I could go to a better place, like Equestria, the world of My Little Pony. So, after a while of using my computer, I decided to go outside and take a walk for once. I grabbed my mp3 player, and headed out. I walked down to an abandoned ally downtown. That's where I usually go when I want some privacy. I sat down and started to think about life..... my life more specifically. I wondered about many things, from video games, television shows, pranks I could off, and many other thoughts. An hour later, I got up to carry on with my walk, until suddenly, I heard a noise. It was a low, faint, humming sound, that grew slowly louder each second. Then, I noticed a little spark, as if someone was lighting a bonfire. Another spark occurred, and before I new it, many bright sparks flickered constantly! The little light-show continued for a millisecond before a blinding, light flashed before my very eyes! "What's going on???" I yelled, but the flash-bang also came with a fairly loud, high pitched noise, therefore, I couldn't hear myself. This went on for a few seconds more, until the light and noise slowly went down. ~~~~~~ I rubbed my eyes to get rid of the blurriness the flash gave me. When my eyes refocused, my jaw dropped to the ground. "This isn't my hometown...." I thought. I was in a grassy field, with the air smelling extremely fresh. Birds were chirping in the trees, and over to my right was a dark, creepy looking forest. On my left, was a little trail leading somewhere. "Maybe if I follow that trail, I'll find find people that'll tell me whats going on," I said to myself. I think I walked the trail for a good hour, barely stopping for anything. I was about to collapse before seeing some apple trees, then after walking towards the orchard a little more, I saw a barn. My stomach rumbled. I hadn't eaten anything in a while today, and those sweet looking apples weren't making feel better. I decided plucking one apple to eat wouldn't bother the people who owned this farm. As I reached out to grab an apple, I noticed that my hand... well, what SHOULD have been my hand, was not normal. It looked like a hoof, no, it WAS a hoof! I looked down at my body to see that I was completely different. I had the body of a young horse, or was it a pony? There was a tattoo of a guitar near my rear end on my side. Why didn't I notice this before? I saw a bucket of water, and ran, well, galloped to see my reflection in the water. My face had an extreme makeover! I had the head of a pony! I WAS a pony! "It's okay," I told myself, "you're just dreaming. You'll wake up any minute now!" I closed my eyes for a few seconds, then opened. I was still at the orchard. I slapped myself hard to try to wake myself up. Still at the orchard. I realized that this isn't a dream. It was real. My stomach rumbled even louder. I went ahead and picked an apple, and took a bite. It was the most amazing apple I've ever tasted! This made me feel great inside. "Don't dem apples taste amazin'?" I heard someone ask behind me. I spun around to see a really... *ahem*... cute mare. She had an orange mane, blonde hair, and a tattoo which looked like a a small bunch of apples. She was wearing a cowboy hat as well. That's when it me. That flash of light took me to Equestria. I was a pony. The tattoo on my side was a cutie mark. The mare in front of me was named Applejack. I just stood there in shock, not realizing that the mare was looking at me weird. "You alright, sugar cube?" Applejack asked with concern. "Huh?" I snapped out of it, and replied, "Uh, yeah... just somehow dozed off there, heh, heh." Applejack looked at me a little more concern, then returned back to her smile. "Alrighty then!" she said, "So whadaya think of our apples, sir?" "They're fantastic!" I exclaimed, then I felt a little guilty about taking one of the Apple Family's apples without permission. "Sorry," I told Applejack, "I should have asked, but I was really hungry and-" "Aw, it's quite alright," she said, "It ain't hurt'n anypony." "That's good," I replied, sort of relieved. We chuckled a little bit together. "Say," Applejack realized, "Ah didn't catch your name." "My name is Shores," I introduced myself. "That's a fine name ya got dere," Applejack stated, "The names Applejack." ~~~~~~ Sweet Apple Acres is the best apple farm you could ever go to! She showed me around the place, and even introduced me to her family. When I talked to them, I pretended that I didn't know about them from watching the TV show. They were a great family. Applejack showed me how they collect the apples from the trees by bucking the tree trunks. I gave it a try myself! I kicked my hooves hard on the tree, and the apples all fell into the basket. I thought I would break my hind hooves doing that! Later that afternoon, she came to me and asked, "You must be new here. You got anyplace to stay?" I then realized I didn't have a place to sleep. Oh boy. "Yeah, I just got off the train this morning," I answered, "I forgot all about finding a house!" "Yer welcome to stay here overnight ya want." "Really? Thanks!" "Not a problem!" At night, we decided to hit the hay. Applejack showed the guest room in their house. We wished each other good night, and I took one more glance at AJ. She was a very pretty mare, and had amazing characteristics. I'm starting to like her, and maybe she and I will see each other more often. We headed for our beds. I plopped onto mine, not being surprised about how tired I was. I've been through some crazy stuff today, and I just need some sleep. I now had a new life, and I think I might enjoy it!
