Power.
It's something she yearns for, she would die for.
The light purple unicorn paced in the guest room. She furrowed her brow, deep in thought.
About a week ago, Twilight Sparkle had arrived at Canterlot to visit the Princess. With the help of the Princess, she was able to learn some spells and gain more strength in her magic. However, Twilight could not ignore the fact that the Princess was the most powerful pony in Equestria.
A title that Twilight wanted to hold.
"She does nothing, nothing at all!" Twilight thought. "she just sits around all day meeting with other ponies and watching over Canterlot!"
It was roughly one in the morning by now, and Twilight's hooves were sore from all the pacing on the marble floor. She despised Celestia. She would be a better ruler. She's help everypony with what they need. Celestia doesn't do that.
"I'd help the Cutie Mark Crusaders get their cutie mark! I mean, have you ever seen Celestia helping fillies with that?" Twilight giggled and stopped. Magically, she levitated the paring knife next to the apple she had asked for only a few hours ago.
Perfect.
Twilight slipped out of the room and looked around. The guards were no where to be found. Twilight gently closed the door behind her and swiftly trotted down the hallway. Every sound her hoof made when it came in contact with the marble floor pounded on her ears. She took deep breaths as she made her way down. She had to stay calm.
She finally reached the grand wooden doors that led to Celestia's bedroom. Just across was Luna's room.
Luna.
Fear struck Twilight. Luna often was awake during the night. What if she was awake now? Twilight felt like her heart would burst out of her chest any second now. Pursing her lips, she put her ear against the door to Luna's room.
She could hear faint snoring.
Twilight sighed in relief. Luna was fast asleep, so she had no reason to fear being caught. She quickly looked around and saw no guards still, however it would only be a few seconds before a patrolling one reached this part. Twilight quickly got back to business.
She placed her hoof against the wooden door that led to Celestia's room. Her purple eyes darted around, hear breath was coming quick.
Creak.
Twilight's heart nearly skipped a beat. She froze, shaking.
"Come on, Twilight," she urged herself on. "night doesn't last forever!"
Twilight resumed pushing the door open. It didn't creak again, thank goodness. By the time it was halfway open, Twilight was sweating. The paring knife floating next to her reminded her of her business, and she slipped in and closed the door.
Celestia's room was grand, with huge windows, a high ceiling, hundreds of books, some tables and chairs, a door leading to the bathroom, and finally the bed where she slept.
Twilight trotted up to her. Thankfully Celestia had a rug down, so Twilight didn't make a sound.
She could see the rising and falling of the quilt Celestia slept under as she breathed slowly, a sign she was deep asleep.
Twilight Sparkle stopped at the foot of the princess's bed, and thought. Should it be one swift motion? Or should she let her suffer?
Twilight Sparkle trotted up further, right in front of Celestia's head. Her eyes were closed, and her lip twitches. Perhaps she was talking in her dream. Suddenly Celestia stirred in her sleep, her head lifting up slightly before laying back down, a soft moan escaping her lips.
It nearly gave Twilight a heart attack.
The purple unicorn jumped back, bumping into the small nightstand and knocking over some books.
She nearly fainted.
Celestia's eyes fluttered open, and she groaned.
"Twilight Sparkle? What are you doing here?" Celestia murmured sleepily.
Twilight bit her lip and looked around.
"I want power," Twilight said, holding the knife right against Celestia's neck.
"Twilight, is this a joke?"
"No!" Twilight snarled. "Princess, let me have power, let me be in charge."
A brief silence
"No," Celestia said, frowning.
No.
The word echoed in Twilight's head. What a cruel word it is.
"Well then," Twilight said softly. "I'll have to take it myself."
In a swift motion, Twilight slashed Celestia's neck, blood spilling out. A horrible gurgling noise sounded from the Princess as Twilight magically flung off the quilt and stood on top of her mentor. She slashed at her, even after she was long dead. The blood stained the snow white alicorn a crimson red, and the blood got on the bed sheets, the pillow, the knife, and splattered onto Twilight's fur.
This was true power. This is what it felt like to be in control. Twilight loved it. A small laugh emitted from her throat as she cut the alicorn to pieces, through flesh, muscle, and bone. She even cut off her wings. After almost an hour, Twilight stopped.
Her hooves were soaked in blood, and her chest has blood spattered all over it. The knife was dripping in the substance, and the smell was nauseating.
Twilight stared at her work, panting softly.
It was beautiful.
Giggling, Twilight took the knife and went into the bathroom, where she quickly washed herself and the knife off in the sink. As she dried her hooves,s he looked at herself in the mirror.
She was a killer. She had killed the most powerful pony in Equestria. What a simple task it was.
Twilight dropped the towel she was using on the floor and levitated her knife. Luna would be in despair, and certainly get in the way.
Humming to herself softly, Twilight went on her way to handle her next victim, who was sleeping right across from the room where a horrible murder had just taken place.
