Doctor Whooves was scanning the plain he saw the light appear from. He was certain that it was another alien race either here for scouting or vacation, wouldn't be the first time. It was something else about this light that disturbed him though, he had seen it before and it was some kind of substance that had appeared before. Certainly whatever arrived here this time might be looking for it, or looking to do something else.
A creature started to stir as it was lain on the grass below it's mass. Memories shot through it's brain like a bomb. It started to remember what it was, remembered HIS name. The name rang throughout his mind, unlocking several more memories to pile on. Genesis, he reminded himself of his own namesake, you are Genesis...... You-I am a Metal Head. your friends are.... Genesis' mind went blank trying to remember his befriended humans back home.
"Home..." Genesis spoke out in a whisper, opening his eyes to the sun light.
"Haven...." He whispered to himself again, "This... isn't... Haven..."
Time Turner saw what he was looking for stand up, the alien he had suspected before. He went to a full gallop with a strange little tool in his mouth. He was approaching at a rather fast pace only to have the edge of the Everfree come into gaze, nearly masking the darkened creature before him. His hooves skidded to a full stop in the grass, his stare was blank as he observed the beast that was looking around.
"What are your intentions here?" Time Turner asked, his tone wasn't much of change with his gaze.
Genesis turned to see a light brown... thing, with bulbous blue eyes staring at him with a serious look. The instrument in its mouth looked like a light-up toy he had seen around Haven. Sure, they were fun to play with, but onto more important matters, the small thing before him was a lot smaller than himself and smaller than a typical human. The head of Genesis was about 3 times larger than the creature before him.
"I shall ask you one more time. What are your intentions here?" Time Turner was getting a bit annoyed at the creature staring at him with glowing green eyes.
"I... don't know." Genesis replied, arching his back to a pint his spine popped in several different locations.
"Well, do you have a name?" Time Turner asked over the instrument in his mouth again.
"Genesis. I take you have a name as well?" The beast was looking at the creature with curiosity.
"The Doctor" Time Turner didn't even move from his position yet.
"Doctor... who exactly?" Genesis asked with a tilt of his head.
"It's just The Doctor."
"Well, 'Doctor,' where exactly am I 'cause I haven't the slightest clue."
The remark made Whooves' jaw drop and expression to a surprising one. Almost every part of the universe had atleast heard of the homeworld of ponies and its guardian. The Driver landed on the ground with a loud *Clunk!* He took a step back as Genesis tried to go forward, Stepping into the beasts way, Genesis didn't seem to mind and wormed his way around the pony.
"Wait!" The Doctor shouted, quickly planting himself in the Metal Head's way again. "You can't just go waltzing into town! Everypony'll flip!"
"Everypony? So I'm in a place with... ponies? There's a settlement nearby also? And why can't I go into town?" Genesis was staring down to this 'pony'
"You'll cause a panic because of your alien nature! And yes, this is Equestria, home of pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies. Also, yes, there is a small country town nearby that I refuse to let you go cause a panic in."
"I'm not an alien! I'm just a Metal Head."
"Metal Head?" Whooves tilted his head in question. "Out of all the alien species I've heard of, a Metal Head hasn't been one. Is your kind space-faring?"
"What? No! We can't even pilot a zoomer let alone open a door. We're not aliens either!"
"A what now?" Whooves was even more confused now.
The fact that this Metal Head creature ended up in Equestria was one thing, but it's also insisting that it's not an alien, saying things that don't quite make sense and what in the hay is a zoomer? How can this thing not be part of a space-faring species if it got here through a possible teleport? Rift maybe? So many questions and so little time to answer them. One thing though was to keep this Genesis creature out of sight of the locals.
"How can you not know about zoomers? You don't posses any?" Genesis asked while The Doctor picked up his little toy.
"Forget about that, I don't have time to even wonder what those might be. Just follow me." Was Whooves' only response to the beast and started to trot in a direction slightly towards town, but not a whole lot in the direction.
Genesis probably found it best to follow the strange pony. Considering he's the only thing that reacted to his appearence casually. Atleast, Genesis thought it has a he by the body structure and voice pattern. For a Metal Head, Genesis was rather smart. Intelligence wasn't the only thing he was good at either, he was an able fighter considering his metal plating was mostly for show, mostly.
Whooves didn't like doing this, but he didn't see anywhere else this creature was safe. The voice was a bit distorted, somewhat demonic, but had a gentleness to it. Nonetheless, it made determining this 'Metal Head's' gender rather mistakable beyond his total comprehension. Even when it mentioned that his kind couldn't open a door or operate a.. zoomer.. as the creature called it. But why was it named Genesis?
The two eventually reached a blue box that seemed to be wedged between a tree and a sizable bush. Genesis stopped in his tracks while the pony moved on towards it. When the Metal Head's eyes read the sign, stating 'Police Phone Box', it made him wonder what in the world a phone was. Back in Haven, Genesis was strapped with a collar that contained a communicator that acted like a walkie-talkie. Phone was something else, something completely new.
"You don't expect me to fit in that, do you?" Genesis asked, more concerned about his size rather than smashing the wooden box open.
"I do." Whooves simply responded as opened the door with an audible creaking noise.
"There's no way I'll fit in that!" Genesis retorted back, stomping a claw on the ground.
"It's bigger on the inside." Whooves waved for Genesis to step inside.
Genesis complied but only to a tight squeeze through the rather small opening that this pony could fit through. The Doctor was certainly right about one thing, this little blue box really was bigger on the inside! Genesis has never seen anything like it before. It was breathtaking and mind boggling. The Doctor placed his little toy somewhere so as to probably keep Genesis from it, not that he needed to hide a toy.
"This should suffice, I'm pretty sure nopony is bound to find you in here, well, maybe except for my assistant." Whooves stated, he didn't seem to confident letting an alien stay in his ship,
"What is this place?" Genesis was making his way to to the center of this place in wonderment.
"It's my ship, last of her kind. Beautiful, ain't it?" Whooves said with a smile. "It's a TARDIS, rather remarkable thing my kind made."
"So you're the real alien here, not me?" Genesis looked at the pony, his gaze afixiated in the slightest of interest.
Genesis lay in one of the TARDIS' rafters just a bit above the main catwalks around the core. IT may not be a bookshelf he accustomed himself to just a week ago before arriving in Equestria. As the week progressed, he found out a bit more about the Doctor and his assistant, Derpy. Derpy was scared for the first two days as Genesis had to stay in the TARDIS all day out of fear of being spotted during the day. Out at night was fine, so long as the Metal Head's coat stayed dark.
"Hey! Genesis!" He heard a familiar female voice calling his name.
"Yes Derpy?" The beast opened his eyes and looked down towards the pegasus mare.
It didn't take long to for Genesis to learn about the three main pony races. Derpy was a pegasus, or a winged pony, while Whooves was an earth pony, standard by all means but stronger than he looked. He was told of a unicorn, a horned pony capable of magic, that was slightly obsessed with aliens and might have been convinced that a certain pink pony was one. The mare he peered down to had the brightest smile on, sure, Derpy wasn't the brightest in mind, but she was friendly.
"Would you like to share some of these strawberry muffins with me?" Derpy asked with her grin still present.
"Sure, I could go for some muffins, as long as my eco acts in quickly" Genesis swiftly climbed down with and extreme absent of noise.
"You're what now?" Derpy's expression changed as she tilted her head.
"Nothing, I'm sure the Whooves would like an expaination on it when he comes back." Genesis sported a small smile without baring his teeth to the small pony in front of him. He knew how much it scares her, poor thing.
Derpy used her mouth to untie the box on her back. It fascinated Genesis that these pegasi and earth ponies used their mouths for everyday tasks, like opening a door. When it came to Metal Heads opening doors, they'd mainly just run themselves into said door until it either opened finally or broke down. Yeah, not the brightest bunch when it came to doors, just fighting.
The grey mare offered the box to the beast with a nod of her head and a grin. Genesis couldn't help but feel... happy... that she was friendly. It made him feel more like he was finally home, finally at a place where he could really feel safe rather than persecuted. Genesis took a claw and carefully extracted one of the muffins from the box, careful as to not tear the box open or the mare carrying the box.
Genesis' teeth were definitely something scary for someone to look at. The exact sharpness of his teeth made his claws seem like dull knives, Genesis could rip right through the second strongest metal back on his world. Thought, he was tried Precursor Metal only to leave some bite marks of his failed attempts, those were present on his legs. Genesis placed the muffin on his rather long tongue and thrust it into his mouth, only revealing a quick glimpse of his teeth.
"I always find that amusing to watch." Derpy giggled as she started to a muffin of her own.
"How so?" Genesis asked carefully taking up another delicious strawberry muffin.
"It's how you always seem to hide your teeth from me." She replied after swallowing the rest of her current muffin. "I know you don't want to scare me n' all, but I'll grow to ignore them at some point. It's apart of who you are, you shouldn't be ashamed of that."
"That's rather inspiring. Come up with that on your own?" Genesis was a bit hesitant now as he observed Derpy.
"My father always told me that when I was little, it always cheered me up when I was sad." Derpy had a look of remembrance about her.
"Sounded like he loved you very much." Genesis' words made him sound like something was missing something in him.
"What were your parents like, Genesis?" Depry perked up as she turned back towards the Metal Head.
"I..." Genesis started before he got lost in his own thoughts, "... don't remem-"
The beast was cut off by a rather loud explosion, and neither did it sound too far either. That explosion crashed Genesis' train of thought as to how eerily close it was. All eyes shifted from eachother to the TARDIS door, as if expecting Whooves to come in exclaiming that everything was fine. Nothing. Not even one word. Genesis stood up from the floor and cautiously approached the doors. They say curiosity killed the cat, Genesis wondered if it'll kill this cat.
Whooves came in with a rather grave look on his face, looking at Genesis and Derpy.
"Guys," He started," We may have a tinsy little problem on our hooves."
"What's the problem?" Genesis was approaching the Doctor now.
"You should see for yourself." Whooves then left shortly. Genesis didn't like that sound of it and followed Whooves with Derpy at their side.
"Bring me Genesis or this small creature gets terminated!" A strange robotic form demanded, having a cannon aimed for a small filly cowering in the middle of the street.
"No?" The bot was looking toward a large crowd of ponies with its cannon charging up for a blast. "The so be it!"
Just before the shot got out, a dark grey streak crossed the the crowd's and robot's vision. When the streak finally got by, the filly was missing from the street.
"It's not nice to pick on creatures smaller than you."
The crowd looked towards the source of the voice and gasped to find the alien creature that caused the streak. Their mouths were agape as they pondered how a creature of rather large size move as fast as a certain rainbow-maned pegasus they knew. Genesis looked behind him with the filly snuggled between his fore leg and chest. But he know was wondering himself, the robot he was looking at seemed to be built like a metallic look-alike of himself.
"Is that why you hide amongst such feeble creatures?" The robotic Genesis asked only to not receive an answer.
"What are you and why are you here?" Genesis once present smirk faded as he stared on.
"I am an Alpha Head, one of the first in many Mecha Heads to invade this new world to apprehend you, or terminate you in case you try to stop the Sigma's plans." Alpha turned towards Genesis, his cannon has hummed to life once more.
"Child," Genesis looked town to the filly in his grasp, her face buried into the Metal Head's chest, "what is your name?" His tone was gentle.
Sil-Silver Sp-Spoon." The filly stuttered out, looking up at Genesis with fear in her eyes.
"I want you to trust me, Silver Spoon, for what I'm about to try may scare you." Genesis said as Whooves jumped over the beast with his device, pointing it at the Mecha Head with haste. "Doctor wait!"
The device lit up as the blue light shined on to the metallic plating of the robot. Alpha shot once more, this time at Whooves, causing a massive cloud of dirt to erupt. The Mecha Head sat there, waiting for another move from within the cloud. A few moments passed until a loud roar was heard, causing the crowd to run away in even more fear. Taking refuge within their homes, they peered out the windows with caution, thinking the bot might turn on them.
Genesis burst forth from the cloud of dirt, making it dissipate into the air and stopped right in front of the Alpha.
"You want a fight? You got one, right here. Fight me with out your little toy and like the beast you were meant to hunt down." Genesis barked at the bot, showing the metal barb tip at the end of his tail.
"Scanning...." Alpha said with monotone before registering, "Melee mode, active"
The cannon folded itself into the body of Alpha as the plates whirred up to cover it up, making the cannon seem like it wasn't ever there it the first place. a tube emitted from behind it with folded coverings. The covers flipped to the sides of this 'tail' accompanied by an audible *shink*. Alpha was sporting his own bladed tail and took a step back from Genesis. Genesis stared onward as he set Silver Spoon down and looked at her with a calming smile.
"You see that stallion over there?" Genesis motioned his head towards Whooves.
The little filly nodded.
"Go stay with him, he'll keep you safe." With those words, Silver Spoon quickly galloped over to Whooves and now Derpy. "All right you piece of scrap metal, take your shot.
*CLANK*
"Woowee, you're almost as fast as I am." Genesis smirked a bit. "Impressive, but not quick enough."
With that said, Genesis dislodged both their tips and tackled Alpha to the ground, shoving its head straight into the dirt. A loud click was heard by Genesis followed by a whir. Alpha had turned his whole body around and launched Genesis into the air. The beast flailed for a bit until he smacked right into a house, causing a rather large hole in the living room. Genesis emerged from the rubble bruised and somewhat limping.
"Well..." Genesis spat out some of his own blood on the dirt, "at least I know you're somewhat close quarters capable."
*Whirrrrrrrrr*
"Aw come on!" Genesis seemed like he was going to shoot lasers from his eyes. "That's not even fair!"
Alpha had pulled out a secret card. The bot's mouth was open, baring teeth of metal that rotated along the jawlines on chains. The teeth were slightly orange as if they were being heated from the core to the outer shell. It lunged forward, not even aware of what was about happen. A strange sound pierced the air that put pain to anypony's ears that could hear it.
It was a sound like a chainsaw up against a chalkboard.
Genesis had raised a foreleg up in just the nick of time. The teeth that Alpha possessed weren't tearing into Genesis' flesh, but sparking and conflicting with the metal he had on. Genesis sported a rather evil grin as something clicked within his brain.
"I think it's time for a little check-up. What about you, Alpha?" Genesis asked, darkness covered his tone.
In a split-second action, Alpha couldn't react fast enough within the time frame, Genesis had flipped himself on to the bot's back and drove back to the ground. The teeth had stopped rotating as the beast pulled his foreleg out, leaving the bot underneath trying to calculate what the next action was. Genesis forced both claws onto both sides of Alpha's mouth and began to pull, allowing the razor sharp teeth to dig into his flesh.
"Open wiiiiide!" Genesis chimed as he pulled the bottom jaw farther and farther away from the top.
*POP*
That satisfying sound is was stopped Genesis from tearing the rest of Alpha's head off. He threw the now unattached bottom metallic jaw off to the side and shifted his weight off the seemingly disabled metal carcass. Well on his way back to his two friends. Genesis could almost see them until something happened that he didn't expect.
*SMACK*
Genesis was slammed into by a metal body the size of his own. He was thrust against a wall with a dull metal claw against his throat. Alpha was still running? Impressive. The vice grip around Genesis' throat started to tighten, he manaiged to get a few words out.
"Didn't like me ripping off your jaw, eh? Just be lucky it wasn't your whole darn head!" Genesis barked with a knowing smile.
Alpha didn't respond.
"What? Can't speak? Bolt got you t- gur!" Genesis was cut off with his air supply being cut off.
Alpha's grip was tightening. Whooves' and Derpy could only watch in horror, knowing their power would be nothing against this metallic beast. Alpha raised his tail into Genesis' view for him to see. The tip started to spin, even worse, barbed also. Derpy had to shield her eyes as the rotating spin slowly made it way down. As if Genesis was just a play thing, the tail started to move inward, making contact with some of Genesis' flesh.
The tip moved into the Metal Head's side only half before pulling back. Alpha put the now bloodied tip, still spinning. It was aiming for one of his eyes now. Genesis could only be awake for a few moments longer and used what energy he had left to act as quickly as possible. Genesis stuck his own tail right through the Alpha's head, causing the grip to release. Genesis slid down as the bot shut itself down.
"Genesis!" Whooves ran over to the fatally wounded beast. "Don't die on me. Come on. Hang on a little longer. Derpy! Go get Nurse Redheart!"
everything around Genesis faded to black in a matter of minutes, The Doctor trying to stop the bleeding as Derpy flew off as fast as she could. Geneisis' eyes last saw the huddled filly known as Silver Spoon on the ground.
