Opal had these annoying ponies wrapped around her claws.
All she had to do was purr and act cute, and somepony would give her tuna. They were so gullible! But, after all, what would you expect from those barbarians?
The only one that was seemingly normal was Miss Rarity, and even then, Miss Rarity was only Princess Opal's servant. After all, Miss Rarity was the one who fed her, cleansed her, took care of her kitty litter, even bought stuff for. A shame, really. If only Miss Rarity had the brains to match with her style. (Maybe Miss Rarity would be Princess Opal's Lady-In-Waiting once she became a real princess, and not just one on a cheap, 2-bit throne and living in an ugly boutique? No, that idea was a foolish one.)
Speaking of brains, that nitwit Twilight Sparkle was coming over today. "Twilight, the darling, is going to come over today," Miss Rarity had said. "Don't you worry, my little Opal! She won't hurt you – aww, you adorable thing! Do you want to take a bath?"
And so on.
