When Twilight Sparkle was crowned a princess, many ponies were happy, and filled with joy. They had thought that she would be the one to lead them to glory. Those ponies were shocked when Twilight overthrew the government, and created her own, announcing herself as the new ruler of Equestria. She crushed all that opposed her, including most of her former friends.

Rainbow Dash has been trying to live a quiet, peaceful life since this event, laying low and giving up the daredevil side of herself to protect her daughter, Sky Dash. But when Princess Sparkle kidnaps Sky in an attempt to lure her out of hiding, Rainbow is thrown into an adventure of epic proportions.
