The Lunar Princess and The Lightning Prince
In the royal garden Princess Luna was on a bench covered with blue roses, she was waiting to meet the visiting prince and dressed casual. Luna wore a black shirt with short dark blue sleeves and a crescent moon in the lower corner, a light blue skirt, black leggings, a star necklace and blue boots; she also had her favorite crescent moon barrette in her long, flowing hair. Soon a young man appeared and Luna thought he was so handsome, he was tall, muscular, had strong arms, a finally drawn sensitive face, shaggy red hair, and blazing blue eyes with a lightning bolt over his right eye; he was dressed all in black and his shirt had short sleeves and a big yellow lightning bolt on the chest. He approached her, bowed and said "Hello I am Prince Lightning Spark, it is a pleasure to meet you my lady. How was that, was that polite enough?" Lightning asked dropped the snobbish voice.
Luna giggled and said "Not bad"
"Care to top it"
Luna thought for a minute "I kind sir am Luna, Princess of the Gleaming Moon; it is an honor to meet you your highness"
Lightning smiled at her and said "and you win"
Luna scooted over and Lightning Spark sat down beside her "It really is nice to meet you Prince Lightning Spark."
"Please just call me Lightning"
"Okay, call me Luna"
Lightning grinned at her and he thought to himself 'she seems pretty cool, and she's so beautiful; man a girl like her could never for a guy like me.' When Lightning Spark looked in the mirror he was never able to see what everyone else saw, despite being a prince he had low self-esteem. But when he looked at Luna and saw how her eyes were glowing as she looked at him, Lightning felt better about himself.
"So um...what exactly is that mark on your eye?" Luna asked breaking the silence
"It's a birthmark, see I can conjure up lightning"
"Is that your special talent?"
"well no I'm a singer songwriter"
"I'd love to hear you sometime, what kind of stuff do you sing?"
Lightning thought for a minute before answering "I really like romantic songs' I have a whole notebook full of them." Lightning was surprised he had told Luna that, he had never told anyone about his songs' he wondered why he felt so comfortable talking to her. "Luna.....would you like to go for a walk?"
"Okay" Luna said slowly with a smile.

The prince and princess walked through the garden, Luna was sort of acting like a tour guide and she decided to show him something she never showed anyone before not ever her sister knew about it. Luna pulled back a certain of vines to reveal a beautiful pavilion covered with roses, her favorite flower, Luna had cast a spell on it protecting it from weather so it was always dry and warm; she turned to Lightning and saw that he had a look of aw on his face "I come hear when I want to look up at the sky and be alone with my thoughts"
"So this is your thinking spot?"
"I suppose you could call it that" Lightning Spark began walking around when he noticed small a blue moonstone in the shape of a perfect little heart, Luna noticed it to they both reached for it at the same time, their hands touched, they looked deep into each others eyes; their faces blushed a bright shade of red. After ten minutes of awkward silence the two pulled their hands away, Luna suddenly realized that she still had to raise the moon.
"Oh.....I need to begin the night, wait hear I'll be back in a minute" she explained Lightning nodded and watched as she flew to her balcony and as her hands began to glow a pale shade of purple. The princess raised them above her head as she flew straight with a full moon slowly following her until it was high in the sky, she then lowered her hands and created a shimmering orb of bright white light and threw the orb into the air; the orb burst and released millions of stars. "Wow" Lightning spark said softly, he was amazed see to Luna raise the moon and bring out the stars; Lightning thought that somehow the stars looked brighter then ever he sat down and looked up at the night sky. Luna flew back down landing gracefully on the ground next to Lightning Spark, he looked at her and thought to himself 'She sure is beautiful in the moon light, why do I feel so weird around her?' Lightning thought that he should break the silence.
"You created a beautiful night Luna"
"Thanks"
"Ya know, I've always loved the night sky; shimmering stars and a moon that gleams"
Luna was flattered and blushed a little "well its not like the sun"
"Yeah if you look directly at it you damage your eyes"
Luna giggled and moved closer to Lightning Spark
"Um...you've learned a bit about me, tell me about you" he asked nervously and waited for Luna's response.
"Well I assume you already know about the whole Nightmare Moon thing" Lightning nodded
"well before that I was really close with my big sister Tia, and um I play the harp" (I know I know Lyra plays the harp but I figures maybe she taught Luna how to play)
"really"
"yeah, in fact most of my time I'm up in my room playing my harp for the longest time; maybe I could play something for you sometime."
"I'd like that" Lightning said slowly, softly, and with a smile; after a hour or so of talking Lightning Spark looked at his watch and said "Oh jeez, I didn't realize how late it was, I have to go'' he stood up "Until next time milady" the prince said with a bow, he then took her hand and kissed it gently before he flew off and left Luna sitting there, looking at her hand, feeling absolutely enchanted.

About five hours later Luna was asleep dreaming of her prince, when suddenly she woke up at the sound of tapping at her window; Luna walk toward the doors and out onto the balcony. She looked over and saw Lightning Spark on bended knee singing her a lovely song about her. Each lyric touched Luna's heart. "Oh Lightning" she said feeling swept off her feet.
Lightning stood up to reply "I stayed up the past few hours' writing it for you, did you like it?"
"I loved it, hey um...why don't you come up and I'll play you something on my harp"
He didn't answer he just slowly flew up, as Luna went to get her harp. She came back and Lightning Spark was sitting on the edge of the balcony; the princess sat beside him and began to play a lovely melody the prince hung on every note, when she finished her song she turned to him and asked "well...what did you think?"
"when you told me you played the harp, I imagined that your playing was as beautiful as you are"
"And was it?" Luna asked with slight blush and Lightning answered "your music is very beautiful, but not as beautiful you"
The two lovers spent the longest amount of time just staring into each others eyes.
"well I better get back to bed, goodnight Lightning" Luna got up and began to walk away when Lightning grabbed her wrist, pulled her close to him and kissed her lips passionately, the two just sank into and enjoyed every second of the kiss; his hands started at her waist and then slid up so they were in her hair. With his chest pressed up against hers a few thoughts ran through Luna's mind 'Oh wow, this is so intense; his mouth is so hot, I can't breath'. What the young couple didn't notice was that when Lightning's lips touched Luna's his electrical powers kicked in and the two were surrounded by a giant orb of electrical energy, which vanished the moment their lips slowly began to break apart. Lightning finally spoke after an awkward silence "I...I apologize"
"for what? the kiss?; I liked it."
"oh, and I was afraid I made a fool of myself"
Luna laughed and asked "you maybe wanna spend the night?"
"Might has well". Lightning and Luna both climbed into bed, and she snuggled up next to him, they fell asleep with his arm around her and her head on his chest.

Almost a year went by and Lightning Spark and Luna fell deeper in love with each passing day. Their love continued to grow stronger and stronger, one day Lightning and Luna were walking together until they were at the bench where they first met. Luna sat down and Lightning just stood; then he said something Luna would never forget:
"Luna this has been the best year of my life, the night we kissed it became clear that you were the only one for me and when I first touched your hand I just knew instantly that I loved you and you know what the, stars were brighter that night; I love you with all my heart and all I want is to spend eternity with you by my side, what I'm trying to say is Princess Luna...." he got down on one knee and took her gently by the hand "....will you please honor me with your hand....in marriage?"
"YES!" Luna screamed in joy and threw her arms around Lightning Sparks neck. The two then locked their lips in a passionate kiss, when they broke apart the prince slipped the engagement onto the princesses finger; and what she noticed about the ring was the most romantic thing in the world, the jewel on the ring...it was the heart shaped moon stone they found...on the day they met. It was clear that he loved his lunar princess as much as she loved her lightning prince.
