Where it Begins

Those beautiful teal eyes. I’m lost in those pools of teal, a feeling of pure bliss washes over me as I begin to stare. I smile and nod as I see her mouth move, without the slightest idea of what she’s saying.

“...ash, um...Rainbow Dash, excuse me....” a distant voice calls to me.

“Hello? Anypony home?“ I hear a faint giggle.

“huh...wha? Yeah Flutters?” I say, sounding a little too enthusiastic.

She looks at me with a puzzled look on her face. “Are you okay Rainbow? You’ve been staring for a few minutes.”

I look away with a slight blush. “ Sorry Flutters, I was just thinking about some stuff and got distracted.”

“What kind of stuff? I mean, if you don’t mind me asking. I wouldn’t want to impose or anything...” she asks in a hushed tone as she hides behind her mane. Celestia dammit. She looks so cute when she does that!

‘Think Dash, Think! What should I say? “Sorry Fluttershy, I was just thinking about that flank of yours.”  Yeah, great way to scare her off. Seriously brain, could you be any MORE stupid?’

“Oh, um...just thinking ‘bout  some flying! Yup just flying, nothin’ else!” Way to go feather-brain, great way to make it obvious.

“Um...Okay then, so like I was saying, would you like to have a picnic with me, just the two of us, on friday? I just thought that with you working so hard you could have a free day to unwind and relax, or whatever you want to do Dashie...”

A picnic? With Fluttershy? Alone? Wait Wait Wait. Did she just ask me on a date AND call me Dashie? NO. FREAKING. WAY. Okay, okay, calm dow Dash, remember stay cool.“S-sure Fluttershy, friday’s a GO. B-bye!”

So much for keeping cool...

Rainbow stared at Fluttershy and found herself getting side tracked again. It was friday and they had gone on the picnic as planned, but Rainbow’s stomach twisted when she realized that she was attached. Her feelings for Fluttershy went deeper than friendship, and that was something she couldn’t keep inside. She had to tell her.

However, Rainbow never had much of a way with words, with the exception being her songs. Her mind whirred into action as the idea stuck itself onto the front of her brain.

‘Thats it!’ That’s how she’d get her point across, she’d sing to Fluttershy! The cyan pegasus began humming, drawing her attention as she turned her head. She gulped and began to sing soft, but with her usual edge to the lyrics.

“T-there’s a chance that I could fall

And not come back

And never regret a thing

I’d never get back on track

Darkness all around me,

Giving up without a fight.

The bitterness and pain inside,

The timid mare was confused ”Dashie what are yo-”

Rainbow cut her off by floating over to her and pressing her hoof against her lips before continuing.

Fluttershy blushed as Rainbow moved her hoof down to cup her chin.

The cream yellow pegasus was speechless by this point and just gazed at Rainbow Dash as she moved to caress her cheek.

The dare-devil floated closer so that their lips were inches apart and she lowered her voice.

Rainbow Dash almost whispered the last part.

She couldn’t control herself any longer and lunged forward capturing the gentle mares lips in a passionate embrace, who gladly returned the kiss.
