//-------------------------------------------------------// Serea (Original) -by Amalthea- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Nothing... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Nothing... ACT I Chapter 1 Nothing… “Hello….” A young mares voice echoed, her voice showing fear while looking at the bland walls. Nothing but her own voice, a reminder of her loneliness. As the air sat still, the sound of hooves could be heard off in the distance as well, hearing a soft, faint trotting sound, but still finding its way around the empty place making its inhabitant have an eerie feeling. The mare turned a corner, showing herself to a mirror that stood tall and proud. She gulped seeing such a big reflection of walls behind her, as she examined herself. Her bright, white coat shined, glistening to the light that radiated off every hair on her body, along with her strangely green dyed hair, which she had done recently, since her mane was a white color with blue highlights, but yet green hair remained on her head. Her tail replicated the same, but as she did to her mane, she replicated with her tail. Her kind, blue eyes bounced around her image, giving a concerned stare that showed fear. The mare examined herself more closely, looking towards her flank and seeing nothing but a blank empty spot. Her Cutie Mark wasn’t present, along with her horn. She gasped, pulling back in distinctive fear, looking sharply in the mirror. “Nononononononono.” She recited to herself, closing her eyes in panic, trying to make what she had lost reappear. Her mind not being able to comprehend, she laughed, thinking this was some type of cruel joke or dream. “Hahahahaha, yeah, this is definitely a good one….” She laughed hysterically, stuck in denial while her laughing soon ceased, examining herself more. The mare walked out of the sight of the mirror and returned, hoping to see what made her a unicorn and what gave her a direction on her life, but as expected nothing… She calmly collected herself, shaking off what had been stripped, feeling naked and vulnerable to such a barren place. The mare placed a hoof on the glass mirror, pretending to greet another pony like herself. “Hello, my name is Sarea, what’s your name?” She spoke with a slight smile as somewhat in her mind she wanted a pony to answer back, but nothing spoke back. Tears started to show in her eyes while the smile soon faded. “This is the part where you tell me your name….” She said, with tears rolling down her cheeks. Still crying, she rested her body against the wall, laying a sobbing. Her mind filled with questions and confusion. ‘What have I done to deserve this? Why am I all alone? Will I ever see a single pony again? Am I to die this way? I’m sorry if I did something….’ Serea’s thoughts kept going, so many things left in question. And with that, she shortly fell asleep, her body relaxed against the cold surface of the floor, as she was a mare laying on the floor, resting from this ordeal. Serea’s soft snore could lightly be heard while softly groaning and moaning to her life that she had once before. Her muzzle and cheeks were slightly damp from her tears, showing the obvious sign of her sadness. As she happily resided in her dreams, where reality wasn’t a cold harsh reminder to the poor mare. --- While She Dreams --- Serea sat on a small dock in the middle of the forest, her eyes looking at the shine from the lake. She focused, levitating a fishing pole that clearly looked something she just made tied with a string. Her face smiled, looking at the fish glide around with force, trying to avoid the alluring worm. Her muzzle carried a determined look to catch the fish. “Come on you fish, take the bait.” She lowly spoke, as she intently watched the fish swarm around the dock, trying to lose her. The fish teased her, looking as if going to take the bite, but escaped, showing no interest. She sighed, but kept trying, as she pulled up her fishing pole and threw the worm back to the soil and plucked a new one. Serea had a theory about worms when fishing, as she assumed that certain worms attracted certain fish, so she would develop a strange method, but it was something most ponies would poke fun at her about. Quickly, she lowered the pole back into the cool water of the lake, showing a determined Serea once again but with a smirk. A smirk that told the world she had the upper hoof and in no possible way could lose to a stinking fish. With a great amount of patience the fish finally crept to the lure, poking at the worm as if sampling it. Just as the fish looked to bite it, a pair of hooves ran down her back, sending chills that tingled her every sensitive hair. “Hey Serea!!” As a loud voice accompanied the strange touch. “Ah!” Serea screamed, jumping into the water as the fish immediately swam from the sudden disruption. While she remained underwater for more than a couple of seconds, she emerged coughing and brushing her wet mane out of her face, staring at the stallion who was responsible. The stallion that stood there, was her younger brother, Taurin, bigger than her, but looking similar with the same white coat, as his sister, but with a different mane color. His color was a dark green, with light green highlights, as his tail replicated the same. His cutie mark was a map that also had an x marked. Serea never quite understood what it meant, but that’s because her brother kept it a secret. “Hahahaha….are you alright, Serea? I didn’t think I’d scare you that much.” He said with a smile and held his hoof out to help her. “Oh, you are so lucky you’re my brother, otherwise I would turn you into a toad.” She coughed, spitting out water and accepting his hoof, going onto the dock. “Yeah, sorry about that, but if it mak-” He was interrupted, as she gripped him with her magic and with an evil grin tossed him into the lake, showing the same effect and laughing. Her brother shortly showed up to the surface, spitting out the same water. “Now, I feel better about it, Taurin, or should I say Rin.” She teased, looking at her brother with a grin of satisfaction, now offering her hoof. “Well, then I’ll call you Rea, if you call me Rin.” He smiled, gladly taking her hoof, ever so happily stepping onto the used to be dry dock before they made it a splash zone. They both shared a laugh, as they both were drenched from mane to hoof, showing off their tails to each other, chuckling at their own misfortune of the lake. “Oh, Serea, remember how mom would go crazy for seeing us dirty or soaking wet?” Taurin said with a bit of nostalgia leading to his distant childhood. “Are you serious? Of course I remember that, you even tattle tailed on me for it, saying it was me when you were the to do that and get us muddy.” She giggled, remembering those days while Taurin chuckled along. “Yeah, I only did that to get out of trouble and that was before we had the sister brother pact, where we always have each others back, emphasis on always.” He smiled, nuzzling his sister as a slight squish could be heard, making Serea giggle at hearing it. “Well, I think your coat absorbed more water than me, but enough of reminiscing of the good ole past, let’s get home before we catch a cold, and you can stop nuzzling me.” She giggled, lightly pushing him away. “Sorry, I adore nuzzles too much, along with tickles, but I like to save that one for surprises.” He teasingly ran a hoof up by her ribs, causing her to push him away. “Stop it, you know how ticklish I am and tickling is just messing with my sensitivity a lot.” She clarified while walking into the forest as Taurin slowly took after her. “Yeah, but I just love doing it to you, Rea….” As they walked on through the forest, the pond sat still as Serea stirred in her sleep, slowly waking from the dream. --- Back In Reality --- The white coated mare soon opened her eyes sleepily, still seeing what she had left when she went into a temporary slumber. She looked around ,locking eyes once again with her self as the harsh reality reminded her once again about what was happening and the amount of sadness that it had caused her. Shortly after trying to accept this horrible nightmare, she stood stretching and observing the strange place. “I don’t know where to go or what to do?” She remarked to herself, thinking out loud while spotting a wall with a small opening, as if it had appeared during her sleep. She looked at other places, finding this place nearly empty but with the one hole in the wall peering back. She assumed the role of detective and approached it. Upon reaching the hole, she looked at it, finding this to be very inviting. She tilted her head and looked at it further. It was a placement for something, but what exactly she wasn’t sure. Serea lifted her hoof up very cautiously and with a great force of bravery and willpower, she inched her hoof inside the hole, reaching around and feeling the cold structure of walls while holding her breath. “I hope this leads somewhere…” As if luck struck her, she pushed something, hearing a click with a loud sound, the walls shifted. The white coated mare pulled back, seeing the wall open wide to reveal a path heading straight. “What is this?” Was all she could utter, her mind just finding wherever she was to be insanity served on a plate. She took a couple of steps forward, hearing her own hooves against the floor, really sending an ominous feeling while she looked to see some type of words beneath her hooves, as she read it word per word with interest. “N…..O….T…..H….I….N….G….” She glanced at the word, not really understanding the meaning behind it while she looked forward to the path ahead. “Well I guess we can only go forward.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Detestation //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Detestation ACT 1 Chapter 2 Detestation Serea wandered through what seemed to act like a never-ending hallway that just led straight, always appearing to only go forward, she would glance back, but looking at the distance to go back looked like the same amount of distance to go forward, still she stayed settled on going only forward, and that was the way to go. ‘I don’t like the feeling of this.’ Serea thought, while walking forward with no ounce of any clue about what she was doing. Only that her thought of escape, or a way out was a priority to her. As she trotted straight, she thought about what had happened to get her here, and why she was here. Soon though, she would receive an answer. As the sound of her hooves clopped against the floor, she noticed something strange about the long hallway she was walking in. She had a feeling she wasn’t going anywhere at all, as if it were meant to be neverending. Serea stopped in her tracks making an observation of the surrounding walls. Upon inspecting further into the walls, writing began to appear causing the mare to bounce back in defense. ‘Loving your new style of choice without your horn, and cutie mark. Is everything to your liking? Look at your pathetic self. I personally love having you here without anything, but nothing to your name. Think about how much you’re going to suffer being here, and I’ll be glad to watch it all. Having fun?’ Serea took a step back, just looking at the harsh message to her. ‘Why would somepony do something like this? I haven’t done anything to deserve this….have I?’ She looked at the floor beginning to question her own morals, did she unintentionally harm a pony without truly knowing? Or was this just hate from a random pony casting an evil spell unto her, she was clueless. Serea tried to think, but nothing popped into mind, just the recent memory of the lake with her brother, but did something happen to cause this event to happen? Everything was so confusing, until she glanced back at the message, with a look to see if anything on this message stuck out, upon closer examination, she started to remember. ---- In Serea’s Memories ---- Serea, and Taurin sat in the living room doing their own thing, while Taurin sat at the table scribbling on a paper with a quill, looking quite focused, while Serea sat on the couch reading a book with her levitation spell. Serea would look up every now and again Serea would glance up to see her brother sticking his tongue out, showing full concentration in whatever he was writing. It went on for awhile until, Serea’s curiosity peaked, and she wanted to know why he was stuck in concentration mode. “You okay there, Taurin? You look like you’re pushing yourself too hard over what you’re doing, and it’s quite concerning that my little brother will get white hairs very quickly.” She joked closing her book, and looking at him from the couch. “Hahaha….yeah, I’m going to get white hairs soon, if I can’t come up with a good one.” He said, driving Serea’s curiosity closer to the edge. “Come up with a good what?” She asked, while sliding off the couch, touching the carpeted floor. “Uh….I think I got it.” He said with pride, smiling towards his older sister. She frowned slightly for not receiving an answer, while she trotted over to him. Serea looked to see lots of sentences crossed out, and a couple of random words in sentences, just a mish mash of everything on the paper. Taurin looked at her, with a smile, although Serea raised a brow. “Read the bottom paragraph.” Taurin instructed, as he pointed with the quill towards the bottom, Serea looked at it reading it out loud. “So the other day was a fun one, really enjoyed myself. Even though my sister, was a wild party cannon, just showing her crazy side that I rarely see…” She stopped and glared at her brother, with a fake hint of anger, but smiled. “...Rather than that, it was still fun. Everything about the party was just splendid, even my sister danced like a pony who depended on it. Anypony with any type of taste of music had a great time, their faces really showed it. I wish the party lasted longer, the greatest part happened to be my sister acting like a party animal. Luckily she was a very fun party animal. Overtime near the end of the party, she was still energetic and having fun. Very crazy mare if you ask me. Eventually when the party ended, all was well, but cleaning the mess wasn’t really my way of having fun. You would think that would be the most boring, and not fun part, but with my sister around, she really kept the fun alive. Otherwise I would’ve never finished cleaning the mess. Under everything that happened it was one of the best parties, but I just thought I’d write down this awesome memory.” “So what do you think?” Taurin asked, after hearing her read through it. “Well it’s a nice note, and I’m glad you think so.” Serea smiled, hugging his brother, while he returned the loving hug. “Yes, but did you see it?” He asked, while Serea shook her head not knowing what he was referring to. He chuckled a bit, while smiling, feeling smart. “Well, would you like to see?” “Okay, but what are you talking about?” Serea asked reading through the paper again, just not finding anything unusual about it. Taurin just looked at her, with a smile again, the one that showed his cleverness, and cunning. “Alright, big sister, let your little brother show you what I meant.” He implied, looking over the paper again, as he began to underline certain letters. Drawing attention to the simple paragraph, he’d just written out, by the end of it, he finished underlining all letters. Then lined them up, spelling out something. “Now, what does it say?” “Serea, I Love You.” Serea was confused, how did he pull this off which happened to say this. “How exactly did you write this?” “Well I’m glad you asked, here, look at it again.” He placed it down in front of her, and underlined the first letter of the start of every sentence. ‘So the other day was a fun one, really enjoyed myself. Even though my sister, was a wild party cannon, just showing her crazy side that I rarely see. Rather than that, it was still fun. Everything about the party was just splendid, even my sister danced like a pony who depended on it. Anypony with any type of taste of music had a great time, their faces really showed it. Under everything that happened it was one of the best parties, but I just thought I’d write down this awesome memory.’ “Now, put it together and voila! You got yourself a hidden message, pretty clever don’t ya think?” He spoke with enthusiasm, while looking at her with a genius smile. “It is, I like that, and I love you too, Taurin.” She smiled warmly towards her brother, giving another hug, while he blushed slightly. “Well thanks, this type of coded messaging, is called Acrostic Code, it’s very useful to get things across through just any type of writing, as long as you give it sense, and not write random sentences.” He informed her, as she nodded, looking at the paper closer, really liking this. “That’s cool, we should start sending messages like this to each other.” She giggled playfully, grabbing a quill and writing with him, as they wrote ridiculous things, just to have a sense of fun. They spent the rest of the day sending messages, really having fun in being secretive. ---- Back In Reality ---- Serea laughed remembering this, and looking back at the message quickly, she looked at all the capitalized letters first. Her thoughts were really focused on this idea, and concept of always finding a hidden message for ponies, especially after her brother convinced her of many hidden secrets in Equestria. ‘Loving your new style of choice without your horn, and cutie mark. Is everything to your liking? Look at your pathetic self. I personally love having you here without anything, but nothing to your name. Think about how much you’re going to suffer being here, and I’ll be glad to watch it all. Having fun?’ “Lilith?” She questioned for a brief second, until she looked in wide eyes at the writing. Serea recalled Lilith right away, she was the mean type of unicorn to always bother them, but yet she would always have a crush on her brother, but he never liked her back. “Oh, a smart mare, aren’t you?” A familiar voice spoke, somewhat raspy, but a snarky attitude lingered in the voice. Serea spun around to see Lilith, she was a mare unicorn, with a light a grey coat, her mane was messy, and just pure black with her tail. She had a cutie mark of a torch, Serea never understood what it meant, but it had to be something unique. Lilith was a mysterious mare, who was rumored to dye herself a dark color, and that her true colors were bright and vivid. “Lilith….what’s going on? Are you doing this?” She backed away into the wall, part of her didn’t like Lilith, as it felt a bit intimidating being around such a bad mare, but part of her enjoyed seeing another pony around. “Hmmm…. perhaps I did, or maybe I didn’t, either way I’m enjoying what I’ve seen so far, oh you’re so entertaining to watch you know. Your tears, and your deprivation of what you used to have is really enjoyable. The look on your face, when you had no horn, or cutie mark was just a bonus, but your tears just made this so good, and sweet.” She gave a little devious laugh to the white coated mare. “Why? I never did anything to you.” Serea said kind of sheepishly, trying her best to show an abrasive side, but it appeared clearly that Serea was not a heart of evil. “Oh, sweet Serea, try not to push yourself too hard, otherwise you might lose your purity.” She teased, while walking around her showing a bit of her dominance. “Well I can tell you why I’m doing this, but then it wouldn’t be as fun!” She stood on her hind legs, exclaiming it to the world. “Please Lilith, I just want to go home, please let m-” Lilith placed her hoof on her muzzle. “Shut it, and listen closely….” Her eyes locked with the white coated mare, with a great intensity. “I detest you with a great burning fire of hate, I don’t like you, and I would kill you, but that’s not as fun as watching your will break, and you fall into a broken wreck with nothing left, but her own memories haunting her. You’ll never escape, and that’s a fact Serea.” She pushed away, with a look of anger. Serea just looked at her, finding her reasoning to make no sense, was there something else, there had to be, as she hated her, and yet there was reason to hate each other. Lilith just shot a look at her, while grinning. “Nothing to say, Serea, good now get going.” She ordered pointing her hoof straight ahead, with another evil laugh, just enjoying this moment of messing with the snowy mare. The white coated mare just walked ahead, noticing she still had her horn, possibly the one in charge of this hell. As Serea was far away from Lilith, Serea could hear something faint, but yet she heard it from Lilith. “Detestation at its finest.”
