Chapter 1

Manehatten, Residential Area

November 30th 2011, 05:25
“Reddy Tech get up you’re going to be late” a soft pitched voice coming from downstairs awakens a red stallion with a dark red mane, dark brown eyes and a computer cutie mark.
“Huh?” the red pony responds, a bright red mare enters the room and approaches the bed.
“Come on Reddy this is your first day in the force, your father always wakes at times like this.” She said.
“Yeah, yeah I know that’s why I never see dad in the morning.” Reddy Tech said.
The dark red pony gets up from his bed and gets ready for the day, as the mother goes downstairs and grabs a picture from a drawer.
“Reddy, come down I have something for you” the bright red mare looked eager to show the gift to her son.
Reddy Tech came down with his black baseball cap on.
“Here, this is what your father had when he was in the force.” The box had a black and white photograph of two ponies, one little colt is sitting on a big strong looking stallion, holding him. The rest of the items inside a box were a dog tag, a helmet and a vest.
“Did he only have these?” the stallion asked to his mother
“Yes, actually he wasn’t allowed to take many belongings.” She replied “They provided the equipment he needed at the base.”
“Well you better get going the camp is far, you don’t want to miss your chance.”
The red pony ran up to hug his mother
“I’m going to miss you.”
After Reddy Tech says his farewells to his mother, he runs to the end of the city where the train to the Equestrian Recruitment center was.
“Ok first things first.” Reddy Tech says to the narrator
Wait what?
“What I’m narrating.”
But I’m the narrator
“This is my story and I don’t want some voice talking in my ear constantly describing the scene, I’m not blind or anything. I mean, your narrating is annoying.”
But this won’t make any sense
“You want logic in a world like this?”
Well fine narrate your story without an epic voiceover. CURSE YOU 4th WALL BREAKING PONIES
Ok now that’s out of the way my name ReddyTech, this is my story. I got a letter from the Equestrian Military that said my dad was missing after a mission; I was told I need to replace him and follow his hooves steps. My dad was a great pony, he taught me everything to know about guns that’s maybe why they called me.

I know they say he's gone and not to tell me that he’s dead, but I like to think of possibilities. He has to be alive; no pony could just disappear without any details. My Uncle Cyro worked with my dad for almost 10 years until my dad’s death, after which the entire team fell apart.

Manehatten, Train Station
30th November, 05:45
I arrived at the train station, it was quite empty, the train hadn’t arrived and I don’t see many ponies, well, considering it was sunrise who would wake up to work at a time like this? Oh wait that would be me.
I saw another pony sitting on a bench, a brown Stallion with a shaved mane and three bullets for a cutie mark. He was carrying guns and by guns I mean a lot of them, I approached him, because I thought I’ve saw him before so I walked over to see what he is doing.
“Hey there.”
He pointed a pistol at me.
“Well you’re a charismatic one.” I said.
I know I shouldn’t joke with somepony who is armed and bigger than me, but hey I just wanted to make a conversation here.
“What do you want?” the Brown Stallion asked putting his gun away.
“Oh I just wanted to know if you’re also being assigned to....”
“Equestrian Military.” We both said simultaneously
“You too, then you’re safe, what’s your name kid?” He asked me
“Reddy Tech” I replied, he took a curious look at me, not sure why he said safe, but I'm going to let that slip.
“Name’s Gun Show.” He said. “Say, are you from Manehatten as well?”
“Yeah” I say. Huh, no wonder he looks a bit familiar I think he works with the police and he… killed… Well this is awkward.
“So what’s your story?” Gun Show asked
“My dad worked in the military and he passed away. My Uncle said I needed to fill him in.” I said to Gun Show
“I’ve been told that I could be a valuable soldier to be in the military.” Gun Show said.
“So what’s your job?” I asked him.
“I'm an ex-police officer.” He replied “You?”
“Technician and gun manufacturer.” I said
Gun Show grabbed his rifle and gave it to me, it was the muzzle, seemed to be broken and it weighed a ton
“Here can you fix this up?” Gun show asked. The strange part is a name like Gunshow who doesn’t know how to fix his own gun? I shouldn’t question about this anyway
“Wow this is heavy; I think I might need power tools for this.” I said to him.
I was going to ask about his story, but that’s when a violet Pegasus flew into the train station, she had dark blue mane and a katana for a cutie mark.
“Train to Canterlot is here” The train guard yelled
“Well, I’ll tell you my story on the train.” Gun Show said.
When we got on the train, we sat down together; the Pegasus was in the corner.
“So what’s with the ex-Police Officer thing?” I asked
“It was just an average day; I was on guard duty at the stores. That’s when a robbery happened, I was outside the store, and there were three robbers, they had weapons and five hostages.”
“So did you do something illegal?”
“I shot the one with the hostages in the head with a pistol and also threw a grenade at the other two causing damages to the store. I got fired for using unnecessary force.” When Gun Show finished his story; I was amazed that he actually used those weapons risking the hostage’s lives.
“Yeah, hey I wonder what that Pegasus is doing here.” I said wondering if she was doing the same assignment.
I went up to her when she was sitting in the corner alone, just looking out the window while holding her sword.
“Hi there”
She pointed her sword at me.
“Okay that’s the second time today, now I’m starting to think I need insurance” I said.
“Oh I’m sorry you startled me, I tend to do that. So what did you want to ask me?” the Pegasus said
“I was wondering if you were assigned to…”
“Equestrian Military” We both said
“Yeah I think everyone here knows why we’re here” I said
“You know you remind of somepony in school.” She said
“Really, wait I think I know you.” I said trying to figure out who she was.
“How old are you?” she asked me
“20” I responded
“No way me too,” She said
“Night Sound?”
“Yes. Reddy Tech?”
“That’s me.”
She got off her seat to hug me.
“Oh, it’s good to see you again.” Night Sound said with enthusiasm
“I take it you two know each other already.” Gun Show said
“Gun Show, this is Night Sound. We have known each other since we were foals. Night Sound this is Gun Show.”
“Nice to meet you,” Night Sound said
Gun Show nodded
“And you don’t point a sword at him, why?” I questioned Night for pointing one at me and not him
“Should I tell you why I’m here?” Night Sound asked, she didn’t want to explain.
“Go ahead.” I replied
“You know how I’m fast and silent.”
“You were most athletic and quiet at school and I made you not become quiet no more.”
“You were my only friend I had, Red. You were the class clown and the smart one.”
“And I always stand up for you whenever you’re in trouble.”
Gun Show chuckled
“I’m guessing you two have a strong relationship, if you know you what I mean.”
Night and I started to blush. It was an embarrassing moment for Night Sound and I. we had been together since we finished high school, I got a scholarship in Engineering and Night managed to be one of the top equestrian athletes and martial arts expert.
“Anyway, back to my story, a grey Pegasus crashed into my house to deliver a letter.” said Night sound
“Wait crashed into your house?” Gun Show asked
“Yes, the Pegasus looked like she had a problem with her eyes.”
“Odd, ok continue.” I said
“The letter said I’ve been accepted to the Equestrian Military.”
“Must be your talent for swords, since it’s your cutie mark,” I said
“Also for your speed and silence, you’re going to be a recon.” Gun Show said
“Recon?” Night Sound said in a confused tone
“Red is the engineer, his uncle is the commander and I’m the heavy weapons.” Gun Show said
“Wait, what are you talking about Gun? How do you what we’re doing?” I asked Gun Show, I really want to know how he knows the stuff he's saying.
“Maybe your uncle will tell us then.” Gun Show grabbed his equipment and went to the exit, because were here in Canterlot.
“What was that about?” Night asked me

“I don’t know. he’s dealt with situations like these before. I just want to meet my uncle.” I said to Night so we both grabbed our stuff and got off the train.

Canterlot, Train Station
November 30th, 08:00
“Wow I’ve never been to Canterlot before, it’s so big and heavily guarded, and is that a sentry turret? This place is awesome!”
I was running around the station like a little colt at an amusement park.
“Red! Where are you going?” Night Sound shouted at me, she looked concerned thinking I might cause trouble.
“He’s just having some fun, let him be.” Gun Show said to Night.
I saw a griffin in the station he was average sized and had black feathers for his hair. He started to approach us.
“Hey are you the new guys?” the griffin asked us.
“Yeah” Gun said
“Great, come with me.”
“Red c'mon we’re going.” Night said
We went outside the station and there was limo.
“Wait we’re going in that?” I said in surprise to the griffin
“Of course, why wouldn’t give the special treatment?” the griffin replied. I just had the weirdest idea that Gun Show does know what’s happening, telling us our roles without any information given to us. We went in the back seat, Night and I sat together at the back. Not to make things awkward or anything. Gun and the griffin sat at the other side.
“BTW, my name is Airrick” the griffin said
BTW? I had a feeling he could be one of those types. Gun Show just gave Airrick a “What?” like look, luckily for me, I like that type of talking but I just didn’t expect someone who talks so informally would be a soldier. Also considering he looks older than me and Night.
“Reddy Tech, but everyone calls me Red. This is Night Sound and the big guy is Gun Show.”
“Commander Cyro is your uncle right?” Airrick asked me
“Sure is. What about him?”
“Oh, he wanted to see you.”
“Yeah I haven’t seen him in a long time.”
“I don’t expect griffins here in Canterlot, What do you do?” Gun asked to Airrick
“I’m a pilot and marksman.”
“Well Airrick I hope you’re not going to be camping most of the time.” I said.
“Camping? Oh yeah, ok I’ve been playing some...”
“Ah I get it” I interrupted him
We both chuckled; night and gun still don’t seem to understand how we… talk. As the trip goes on we told Airrick our professions and stories, in return he also a little story of his own.
“So what’s your family like?” Night said to Airrick. Airrick didn’t look happy about the question, which was a good way to kill the mood.
“Dead” Airrick just said that really quickly.
“Cliché storyline count: 1,” I clapped my hooves and threw them in the air, Night nudged me. But Airrick laughed.
“Oh… oh I’m sorry to hear that.” Night was trying to make this not uncomfortable, but he Airrick did say it fast, making me wonder people asked him this question before, Airrick slowly started to frown.
“It’s alright.” Airrick said, but he said it in a calm tone.
“Hey don’t feel down, I lost my dad recently and how do you think I feel.” I said trying to make Airrick feel better and it worked, I think, I wasn’t sure. He looked up giving a weak smile.
“Yeah you’re right; I mean, who knows we could all be great friends.” Airrick felt happier knowing that friends are like family; actually thinking of it, this maybe a crazy one.

Canterlot, Equestrian Military Registration
November 30th 09:30
“Wow this place is… boring” I said, I couldn’t help but saying it. The place was all grey and dull looking, well, it was the military. Not a walk to a place with bunch of colorful creatures or something like that.
“This is just the registration; wait till we get to the fun part.” Airrick said. We walked up to the register desk. There was a dark green dragon on the desk with a computer; he wasn’t the big type of dragons he was a teenage dragon, teenager, here?
“Name?” The Dragon asked me
“Uh Reddy Tech.” I replied in a really awkward manner.
He started typing down my name on his computer.
“Oh your Commander Cyro’s nephew, I heard about the news why you’re here. I’m sorry to hear that.”
“It’s ok; I want to see my uncle.”
“Alright I’ll see if he's…”
“It’s ok Sitrep; I’ll take it from here.” The door opened beside him and a big cyan unicorn with white mane buzz cut, five golden stars for a cutie mark and with the same color eyes as I do… wait.
“Uncle Cyro!” I ran up to him and hugged him like a bear
“Reddy Tech, long time no see… Ok you’re starting to suffocate me.”
“It looks like he really is the commander’s nephew.” Gun said
“Alright Red that’s enough reunion time, are they your friends?”
“Oh yeah, Uncle you remember Night Sound right?”
“Didn’t you go out with her before Red?”
Airrick and Gun started to laugh, Night didn’t. It’s the same story again with Gun Show’s question. Blushes, embarrassment, you name it, but I still think my uncle is awesome so I tried to stand up for Night again and try to stop this moment and keep moving on.
“Uncle, this is not the time.”
“Ah c'mon Red I’m just fooling with ya, I know a lot of Night’s abilities, we’re lucky to have her here. Captain Gun Show, great to have some pony like you in the team.”
I wasn’t sure if he was being sarcastic, since that Gun was quite dangerous. Actually I should take out the quite part.
“Good to be here Commander Cyro, but just call me, Gun for now on I’m not a captain anymore.”

“Yeah I heard about, but this is like a promotion trust me. I see that you guys met Airrick already, so we’re going to give you a tour around the base.” Cyro said. He opened the door with his magic, gave a dark blue aura around it. I never knew my uncle that well, he's just as busy as my dad but when he has the time he is the best uncle ever to have.

Canterlot, Equestrian military barracks,
November 30th, 10:00

We exited the registration office and we started to go to the outside of the boot camp. It wasn’t what I thought it would look like; it was grassy, green with wildlife everywhere.
“This here is a survival training grounds, we use it so soldiers can survive living on their own, fighting for their lives, understanding the environment.” Cyro said. We moved on to the shooting gallery, it’s what you think, outdoors, number of posts, wooden dummies, guns.
“Uncle, aren’t you going to mention this shooting gallery?”
“You just explained it already, it’s just a shooting gallery nothing special you all seen it before.” Gun said
“Alright then next we have the, I know you will love this Red. The Engineer’s room.” Cyro opened the door and bright light shined on all of us, my jaw dropped. There was everything I ever imagine.
“Is this a dream?”
“Ah I knew you’ll love it.” Cyro closed the door and locked it, maybe to not have too much fun in there.
“Aw, this dream sucks now.”
“C'mon Red get your head out of the clouds” Night said to me. We went next door and it turns out it’s a simulator, there was armor, weapon cabinets even swords and squares that I don’t want to know what comes out of it.
“Simulator room… yeah there’s not much to say about it, it’s used for all types of training.” Again not much to say like the shooting gallery… I wanted to go back to the engineer’s room. We went to a hanger filled with planes and helicopter and echoes when you talk.
“THIS IS THE HANGER! Hanger. Hanger.”
“HEY THERE’S EVEN ECHO! Echo. Echo.”
“When the hanger doors are closed shouting here can be annoying sometimes, so don’t yell or make any loud noises.” Cyro said
“Commander Cyro you are needed in the briefing office, over.” The communicator besides the door said. Sounded like SitRep from the control center
“Copy that SitRep, I’ll be right there. Well I need to go, Airrick show them the rest I’ll be right back.”
“You got it Commander.” Airrick responded in a respectful manner as Cyro left the hanger.
“So should we go to the living quarters or the mess hall?” Airrick asked
“I’m hungry.” Gun said

“Mess hall it is.”

Canterlot, Equestrian Military Briefing
November 30th, 10:30
Now this here is what my uncle told me about what the briefing was about. Uncle said that the way to the briefing office was a really long corridor with guards watching. The reason why the briefing room is heavily protected is because Princess Celestia comes in there and tells missions to commanders.
“Alright SitRep, hope this isn’t a mission for the team.” Cyro said to SitRep waiting outside the door to the room. SitRep had a pause not wanting break the mood for Cyro
“Celestia is eager to give the team their mission. Good luck commander.” Com said. Uncle sighed without saying a word to SitRep, he went through the briefing room door and met the princess. Now let me tell you, my uncle has been in the force longer than my dad, almost 30 years straight making him a veteran rank and my dad…10 years.
“Commander Cyro, sorry to not give you a retirement slip, but Equestria still needs your help and your new team.” Princess Celestia said.
“In favor for doing this for the lost, there’s no time for resting.”
“More and more acts of anarchy keep appearing. Equestria can never find any peace. Not even the elements of harmony can handle.”
“Princess you know they’re not necessary for minor situations, that’s why we’re here, why you made these teams. The elements of harmony only do things like Discord or Nightmare moon, because we’re not capable.”
“Yes, I know commander, now your team’s first mission is ready to get started.”
“What? Now? But princess my nephew is not even trained yet, he never fought anything before in his life.”
“You’ll see the reason why now is the time.”
Uncle started walking out the room.
“Sitrep, tell them to meet me in brief.”

Chapter 2

Canterlot, Equestrian Military living quarters
November 30th, 12:00
“Who would’ve thought the food would taste good.” I said just saying how usually military food is mostly rations and not elegant food.
"Oh they have food all over Equestria, the princess thinks if the soldiers have better food they would have better morale.” Airrick said “Heck they even had children’s food here.”
“Children’s?” Night asked with confusion. Airrick didn’t say anything for while, but we kept following him until I said something
“Airrick?” I asked Airrick just to make him continue.
“Yeah, Red?”
“Aren’t you going to say something?” I wasn’t sure if I asked this question, but having something for children in a place where you become soldiers is just something.
“Oh yeah, did I ever mention I lived here almost my entire life?”
“No you didn’t” I responded
“Care to tell us?” Gun asked as he started to lean against to wall, I guess it was story time.
“I… I shouldn’t, look I don’t want to talk about it, the commander didn’t assign me to give stories to you guys. Just… forget about it.” Airrick proceeded walking to our next. I looked at Night and ave brought this up. She asked me
“Maybe I should keep quiet at most situations.”
“No, don’t, I would’ve said the same.” I said, “Night, I think we should just leave Airrick alone… for now.”
“Red, I don’t think-“
“So what now?” I interrupted Night and asked Airrick.
“The living quarters,” The living quarters its own area outside the barracks luckily for us we get the special treatment.
“C’mon I show you guys ours.” Right when Airrick goes in the area, but we were stopped by a voice from a distance.
“Airrick!” the voice came from behind and it was Sitrep calling us.
“What is it Sitrep?” Airrick responded
“The commander needs all of you in briefing right now.” So we started heading for the briefing, right just I thought I can finally get some rest. NightSound turned to me and asked
“Red?”
“Yes, Night?”
“Have you ever had any combat experience?”
“Well my dad showed me how to use a gun.”
“Your going to need to know more than how to use a gun.” GunShow said, I was a bit worried when Gun said that, I don’t think I would ever win a fight with anything. Well except if I hold a gun against someone without one I have a chance. It could be like mugging some defenceless person and I would be like “Hey gimme all your money.” Oooh I got some imagination

Canterlot, Equestrian Military Briefing
November 30th, 12:10
We entered the briefing room, just like I thought it would look like. Monitors, conference desk, big chairs, maps you name everything you see in the movies.
“So this is what the briefing looks like.” Night said
“Looks like it’s from the movies.” I said to Night, she giggled and smiled at me
“It’s like the ones in children’s shows.”
“Well that’s how I got my design of the place.” Sitrep said and smiled at us. “Commander Cyro they’re here.”
Uncle Cyro came in from the far end of the room
“All right, looks like our first mission happens to be earlier than expected.” Uncle Cyro said as he walked him. “We didn’t even get a chance to get some of you training and know the equipment here so let’s make this quick.”
He slammed his hoof on a button on the table. Photos of nameless terrorists groups appeared on the monitor. Nameless, creative name I know a terrorist group who somehow think the princess is a hoax and think the sun and moon are raised by themselves. It’s crazy I know. Not sure why being terrorists would show a message.
“You’re all familiar?” Uncle said and everyone nodded. “Good, we know that as we’re gonna call them Nameless. We know that they have been doing some dealing with certain weapons and they’re getting the shipment through air.”
The monitor changed to some sort of diagram of a bomb, looked big so I assume that’s what Nameless is going for.
“This right here is a bomb.” Uncle continued. I looked at Airrick rolling his eyes since it’s pretty obvious. The bomb didn’t look so big, but like they say size matters, or the other way around I don’t know… I hate metaphors.
“But this is just any bomb…”
“What? Is the bomb some sort of nuke that will destroy the whole planet?” I interrupted my uncle and he looked at me for while, not saying a word. It kind of creeped me out.
“No, it’s not a nuke, it’s an EMP.”
Never gonna try that again
“An EMP? What would they want with that?” Gun Asked
“Not sure. That’s why we’re hijacking their plane to find out. Airrick get the plane ready. The rest of you get suited up cause we’re going now.”
So we all got our equipment from the lockers with our names on in the armory and I looked at GunShow he had all kinds of weapons in a bag, Night had 2 sheathed swords, I just had the basic stuff. We headed out to the hanger where Airrick and Uncle Cyro were waiting. We all had weapons and body armour, but the strange thing was that we also had parachutes. In my mind I was expecting to hijack the plane ON land.
“All right you guys are ready, let’s get moving.” Uncle Cyro said as we started going into the plane, I noticed that Sitrep wasn’t around.
“Where’s Sitrep?” I asked my uncle
“He’s not going to come with us, he’s staying at HQ to keep surveillence.”
“Living up to his name?”
My uncle laughed
“You can say that.” Uncle patted on the back as we went in the plane and it was pretty big, monitors, turrets, weapons. Now I’m not a plane guy but this looks dope. Dope? Where did I hear that word before… nevermind about that. Airrick put on his headset
“Sitrep permission to lift off… Hanger doors now opening… Engines starting up.”
The plane’s engines were quiet then we turned to face the opening doors, everyone started to sit on the seats and their seatbelts on.
“Alright everyone this is going to be fast and smooth.” Airrick said with a grin on his face.
“How can this plane move fast with all this weight?” Gunshow said with no faith at all with this plane, guess he dislikes them.
“this is the best Equestria has to offer; the tech, guns, armour, basiclly anything.” Airrick said
“So are we going to be moving or what?” I said curiously if we’re going to make any progress.
“Red we’re already here.” My uncle said, I looked out the pilot’s window and saw that we were still flying.
“But we’re still flying.” I said, suddenly the doors of the plane open and wind was blowing everywhere
“You sure you want to keep your hat on Red?” my uncle shouted
“Wait, WHAT?” I shouted, freaking out about what was going to happen.
“Alright everypony…”
“And griffin” Airrick corrected
“Right… Nameless has the EMP on a plane directly below us, so we’re gonna hijack it, take the EMP, fall again and Airrick will catch us. That’s it. Questions?” Uncle said, I was about to say something but…
“Alright, LET’S DO THIS!” Uncle jumped, then GunShow.
“I don’t think I can do th-“
“Oh cmon.” Night grabbed me and flew down to the plane. Guns were firing when we got down on the plane. Nameless’s pegasuses were attacking us, good thing for us uncle has magic sheilds.
“It’s showtime.” Gunshow’s bag launched his minigun that landed really hard and caused the plane to shake. And I fell off to the wing of the plane hanging on to the rim
“What the- Oh you gotta be kidding me!” Night got her swords out gutting some Nameless’s and she flew to me and grabbed me to Cyro putting up shields on all of us.
“Red! Get this roof open!” Uncle shouted, I grabbed my bag which had some C4 in it. I was setting the timer for 5 seconds and right when I was finished, I was pushed.
“Get off me!” I yelled at the Nameless good thing I shot him with my pistol and he landed on the wielding tools to cut the roof open. The plane was shaking so we had to hurry.
“Red you’re with me. Gun and Night keep the fight up here, make sure don’t cause this plane to crash!” Uncle commanded while me and him got in the plane. The EMP was close. we ran and uncle cryo was keeping the Nameless away, I found the EMP, it was huge in person and I think it was part of the plane, which is a really stupid idea to keep something that disables electronics in a plane that have that sort of thing, but again why should I question logic here.
“Uncle I think we need to change plans here, suddenly another enemy came jumping at me, but I shot him before he could.
“Getting used to this.” Talking to myself, “Uncle!” I told uncle while he was fighting hoof-to-hoof with a Nameless and he snapped his neck.
“Yeah I got it, Team I’m gonna fly this plane we need to get this to base without trying to destroy it.” Uncle said in his earpiece.
“Commander I am having a hard time getting to you guys, they seem to have some anti air.” Airrick said in a relaxed tone.
“Red we’re taking the AA off. Know where it is?” Uncle asked me while I tried to remember the locations of a plane is.
“Anti-air, turrets, controlled, pilot. Pilot!” I started dashing through shooting nameless guards, while Uncle Cyro was watching my 6. 6, hey im speaking military talk. Anyway, I was really getting the hang with aiming a gun on the go. We entered the pilot’s room or was it called cockpit, meh doesn’t matter. The pilot was still flying the plane in his seat, Uncle grabbed both his arms and yanked them behind the chair.
“Red, Disable them.” Uncle commanded me while he killed the pilot. I turned off the turrets and the shooting stopped, well except for outside where I hear explosions and I'm guessing that’s Gun.
“I'm piloting this thing, get to the EMP and keep it away from ‘em,” Uncle said. I ran out the door of the room and encountered a bunch of Nameless pointing their guns at me.
“Hold it right there,” the nameless said.
“OK.” As I kept my gun in the air, I saw Night sneaking up behind them giving me a signal by covering her eyes, I had to distract them.
“Put your gun down,” the nameless shouted.
“But you told me to hold it right there, and I’m holding it.”
“What? Well forget about that put it down!”
“Alright.” I put down my gun then threw a flashbang making them blind. Night started slicing and I got my gun back and shot all of them.
“That was awesome! we should do something like that again,” I said to Night.
“Well we might do this stuff all the time. C’mon let’s get to that EMP.” We went to the room with the EMP and it was filled with Nameless shooting at us. We dived into cover.
“Damn this plane is big,” I shouted.
“Hey! Show’s up here!” GunShow shouted. He spun his minigun and wiped out all the Nameless in the room.
“He sure is a pony with one-liners,” I said.
“Watch it in there, we don’t want the plane to crash,” my uncle said. Then suddenly the plane started to shake like crazy “Damn! the wing of the ship is breaking. NightSound get Reddy to the wing and see if you guys can get Airrick’s support on this.” Night and I ran to the top of the plane and grabbed the support to the plane.
“Commander, looks like they called for some reinforcement, a couple of fighters are coming for you,” Sitrep said from the HQ. “I can use ReddyTech’s hacker tool to control the enemies’ planes but he has to make the connection or GunShow can just shoot them down, but the risk of the plane is…“
“Let’s do both,” Uncle Cyro interupted. It seemed like he didn’t care for the plane, he could just want some fun. “Red you have the hacker in the bag, Airrick you got the support on?”
“You should get the plane steady now,” Airrick reminded me. Other planes started coming towards us, I opened my bag and found the hacker tool. It looked strangely like a taser gun. I aimed at one of the planes and shot it.
“Good shot Red! I have full control on the hacked plane, note that if you shoot again I lose control from the previous one,” Sitrep said. He really started to remind me of those video game instructors that tell you everything you need to do in a tutorial, wait isn’t that what instructors do?
“Good thing they didn’t send too many,” I said.
“You want more? Well here comes hundreds,” Airrick responded and he wasn’t kidding. Literally hundreds of planes came in and started gunning us down. Uncle Cyro’s sheilds couldn’t hold much longer. Oh yeah did I mention that my uncle puts magic sheild barrirers on the team and the plane. I mean I’ve been shot many times but the sheilds are that good, but not against thousands of bullets or explosions.
“They’re desperate for this thing aren’t they!” Night said as she taken down a plane.
“Don’t worry we’re almost there,” Airrick said in a relaxed way. I tried to think of a quicker way to take those planes down, but as I was planning, we already reached our destination. Since they’re trespassing in our territory we’re allowed to use heavy force. Tons of rockets came out right from the base at the enemy planes.
“That was easy,” I said.
“Of course it was, don’t want it to be repetitive,” Uncle said.

So we landed in the hanger, we escorted the EMP out to the tech lab and Uncle Cyro told me to go to the tech lab to check the bomb.

Canterlot, Equestrian Military Hanger
November 30th, 18:55 (Commander Cyro)
I was quite impressed with Reddy back there, I wasn’t even sure if it was his first time doing this sort of thing. I guess he’s just like his father then. For the others, I realised that NightSound and Red make a really good team. I know they have a love story going on.
“Red, I want you to go with the other techs, you might get to figure out how to use the EMP,” I said to red.
“Wait! why me?... Oh yeah! That means I get to be in the tech lab.” Red paused for a moment. A big smile of excitement came across his face as he ran off with the escort.
“What a crazy kid… Alright team we’re gonna have a meeting after you guys get prepared for the next phase” I ordered the team. “We have to be ready for the next phase which is the last one. Killing of the leader.”
While the others were getting prepared, I had to think of a plan of how we were going to take him out. I went to the briefing room to setup.
“Great kid you got there, commander.” Sitrep came in the room
“He’s not my kid, Sitrep. That’s my brother’s.”
“Well he’s a lot like your brother then.”
“You two going to get together then,” I joked, since my brother was best friends with Sitrep, he misses him as much as I do. I thought he would go emotional about it right now.
“Ah c’mon Cyro, even though Red is your nephew, he starts to remind me of the old days.”
Sitrep was talking about the times when I had my old team, I was the Sarge, my brother was the engineer and Sitrep was still at HQ giving directions. I have no idea what happened to the rest of the team, I only know that losing somepony made the team break.
“I guess so, that’s the whole point of this team,” I said to Sitrep. Then GunShow decided to come in.
“Hope I’m interrupting something touching.” GunShow sniggered.
“Just giving Sitrep some details,” I replied.
“Commander,” Sitrep saluted and went back to his station.
“You got here pretty quickly Gun.” I turned to Gun.
“Ever seen my police reports?” Gun was talking about his other successful missions, heists, robberies and even beating someone for vandalising. I wonder who’s more extreme, me or him.
“Yes I have, but what does that have to do with you getting here so quickly,”
“Check the time lapsed,” Gun said. He then proceeded to take a seat; he didn’t seem to want to have a conversation anymore. Sometimes I wonder why I have him on my team; he’s more of a lone wolf than a team player. The reason why GunShow was here and in the team was not because he decided to quit his previous job, it’s because he’s a good soldier, a risk taker and fearless. I wonder where the others were when this was happening.

The Tech lab is amazing; I have never seen as many gadgets in my life. The other tech guys were doing some other stuff, I don’t know what it was, but I had to focus on my work
“Something is a bit strange about this EMP,” I said to myself. I was looking at the bomb, but I wasn’t sure it was a bomb.
“Hey Reddy,” NightSound came in; she seemed to be happy to see me.
“Oh hey Night, what’s going on?”
“I just wanted to say hi,” Night said in a shy tone.
I put the EMP aside on the workbench. “Want to catch up? Is that why?”
“Red…I wanted to know what’s going on… you know?”
“I guess so, I mean we didn’t really catch up at the train, I mean with the sword and my face and Gun…”
“Yes, so how are you Red?” Night asked as she interrupted me.
I can’t blame her I tend to ramble on. “I’ve been fine Night, seeing my uncle again after these years, new life and hey I get to see you again, how bout you Night?”
“I’m fine too, I became a Wonderbolt, one of the best flyers in Equestria and now I’m here as an assassin somehow,” Night said in a confident manner. Strange, I have never seen Night as confident before.
“Night. You’re an athlete, but that cutie mark means that…”
“I’m a violent pony aren’t I,” Night interrupted me then paused and she started to frown. I didn’t know how to answer that. Night and I have been friends since kindergarten up until to university. She was the quiet one in the class and I still think I was her only friend.
“Why is your talent that sword then?" I asked, she was quiet for a short moment,
"My mother was amazing with swords, she taught me how to use it, but I mainly use it to relieve stress,"
"How do you... you know relieve stress?"
"I meditate,"
"Oh tha-"
"Then I let my rage on other ponies," She interrupted me
"And now I know more about you every time we talk," I said, she giggled at the comment,
"I like how you always somehow manage to change the mood at times,"
“I guess I’m becoming my dad then,”
“You still miss him?” Night asked, I sighed and turned to the table with the EMP
“Night, I still feel uneasy,” I continued to work on the EMP and try not to think of it
“What do you mean?” Night still wanted to know the story
“I said the wrong thing at the wrong time,” I said to Night, she had a worried look on her face, she still wants to know.
“But I’m going to leave this a cliff-hanger, tune in next time to know what the hay happened, in the next part of Equestria Special Forces.”

Canterlot, Equestria Military Engineering Lab
November 30th, 19:30 (ReddyTech)

“Never mind I should get back on the EMP,” I said wanting to get back with the work, I didn’t want lose focus on the mission.
“Yeah your right” Night agreed, “I’ll talk to you some other time.” Night was about to exit the room, as the opened Airrick was there, about to open the door.
“Oh, hey Airrick,” Night walks besides; Airrick waves his hand to Night as she leaves. Airrick was holding a sniper rifle in his hand and started to head to the workbench next to me.
“How’s that EMP going Red?” Airrick asked me
“I can say that the EMP doesn’t appear to be an EMP,”
“What do you mean?” Airrick said as he started polishing the rifle.
“I’m not sure, is that your sniper?” I asked Airrick, trying to figure out more about him.
“Yep, before I started flying I was a sniper.”
“Really? How good are you?”
“You’ll find out soon,” Airrick cocked his sniper and looked through the scope, I guess he wanted to make sure it’s clean there, I also realised that he has a knife holster on his left waist, the blade was rusty and it looked like it wasn’t used in a long time. I wanted to ask him about that, but I was fiddling with the EMP.
“Can I ask you a question?” Airrick said to me as he looked at his knife.
“Wait, I think I found the thing about this,” I declined the question, “There’s some button here, I think it could mean something.” I pressed the button and it started to flicker, I dropped the EMP in panic and Airrick grabbed his sniper as there was a fight starting.
“Initiating orbital strike controls.” The EMP started talking with a deep male sounding voice, the EMP showed a holographic computer screen and keyboard above. I realised, the EMP is not what we think it is.
“It’s a controller,” I said to Airrick, he started walking towards it and pressed a button on the hologram keyboard.
“We have to show this to the commander.” Airrick said to me, we started running to the briefing room and the other tech guys were observing the hologram.

Canterlot, Equestria Military Briefing room
November 30th, 19:45 (Commander Cyro)
“That’s the reason why I quit.” Gunshow finished his story and he put his hooves down on the floor after kicking them on the table.
“Wow, Gun, you can’t really blame yourself for that.” I said
“I can never forget that moment.”
“Hey, I did almost the same to me.” I was about to tell Gun my story, but ReddyTech and Airrick slammed the door and came in the room.
“Uncle!” Red shouted, “You have to come and see this” Him and Airrick were excited to show me what they want me to see
“Calm down both of you,” I said as they both stopped shaking with eagerness, and their faces were blank
“Calm enough,” Gunshow said
“Alright, what’s going in there?” I said to Reddy
“It’s the EMP” He responded “Just come and look for yourself,” I looked at Gun as he got off his chair. We all went into the Engineers lab and we saw the EMP showing a huge hologram showing monitors and keys.
“What in the world.” I said in a slow manner, the EMP wasn’t an EMP.
“It’s an orbital strike beacon,” Red explained. “Uncle do you think we could use this against the nameless?”
“I need to get the princess here first,” I left the lab and started heading to the princess’s throne room, Celestia was there looking over Canterlot.
“Princess, it seems like my nephew just discovered something about the bomb,” I said to the princess.
“What did he gather?” She asked.
“The nameless were transporting an orbital strike beacon.” I told the news to the princess; she had a disturbed look on her face.
“Where is it now?” she said in a calm voice.
“In the tech lab,”

Canterlot, Tech lab
November 30th, 19:50 (ReddyTech)

“This is gonna be good,” I said in excitement, “we could use this to stop the Nameless,”
“It may sound a lot easier than it is,” The princess and my uncle came in
“Don’t you know what this means Princess, we can stop all the plots of what the Nameless are planning,” I said to the princess with a joyful face.
“No, we can’t use this,”
“Why?”
“Blah, Blah, Blah politics, blah, blah, blah, conspiracies.” Okay; maybe it didn’t go that way, but that’s what I heard.
“I’m sorry, Princess,” Airrick said standing beside the beacon, I guess he heard the same thing. “I’m not the guy about politics, but I don’t quite know what you mean,”
The Princess sighed and started to walk away, she whispered something to my uncle’s ear, and they started to argue about something, but Cyro nodded his head and came to me.
“Red, come with me,” Cyro told me follow him and we went to his old room in the barracks. He was digging through his old personal equipment and he got a box out and gave it to me. It seems to be a thing with boxes lately.
“What’s inside?” I asked my uncle, I felt like I saw the box before.
“This is something what your dad wanted me to show you,” Cyro said, my dad… man, why does this have to such a drama now. I opened the box and it had some sort of wristband that fits your entire hoof and arm, like a cyborg arm.
“Press the centre button,” Cyro said, I pressed it and it started to glow a dark red aura around it. The wristband started to shake and a video popped out showing a magic screen with my dad in it paused.
“Is it him?” I said to my uncle
“Hit play,” Cyro had a surprised look on his face, I don’t think he turned this thing on before. I sat on the dusty bed and started to watch.
“ReddyTech, its dad, it is pretty obvious, I mean you must recognize me, because I am your father, unless someone else using this, which is impossible because this should only work on you Red. Anyway I’m getting off topic right now. Red, this right here that you’re wearing is a very powerful weapon, it’s still a prototype, but I know you, it has all the things what a unicorn can do, Well for now, it has levitation, teleportation and magic guns like a pistol, you can still add more magic spells to it, there’s no limits in it so think crazy, if you need any more information with this don’t worry, I made tutorials and schematics for you to look at. And Red, I’m... sorry for not spending time with you before, I know it has been really stressful for you to see me working late. ReddyTech, remember this and I know this sounds cheesy, I love you.” The video ended, I felt happy and sad at the same time. What a weird feeling that is.
“You okay?” Uncle Cyro said, he looked concern about me and sat down with me. I started to shed tears, either joy or sadness, both?
“Uncle, remember the last time you visited us?” I asked him, with a blank expression.
“Yeah, I was bringing your dad home after a long day of work,”
“It was also the day I got graduated; he didn’t show up at the celebration.” I started to have flashbacks to the day, I can never forget that day.

Manehatten, Troxford University
June 20th, 15:30

“I’m so proud of you, Reddy!” Mom congratulated me with happiness.
“Thanks mom… Where’s dad?” I asked, my mom looked disappointed,
“He’s busy at work…”
“But he’s allowed to leave work and see the celebration,” I felt angry; I wanted to throw a tantrum “He did it again; he promised me he wouldn’t do it again.”
“Reddy, you have to understand that he has to…”
“I know mom, it’s just… never mind let’s go home,” ever since my dad joined the force, I had to take care of my mom since she can’t get a job. I waited in my room waiting for my dad to come home, it sat on my chair until midnight. I saw a car outside coming by, I walked down the staircase and saw uncle Cyro and dad.
“ReddyTech, I’m home,” Dad came into the living room and uncle Cyro is talking to mom.
“Hey dad,” I slowly walked to the living room.
“Didn’t you miss me?” he asked, he was happy to see me.
“You forgot didn’t you?”
“Forgot?” my dad was trying to think of what he forgotten.
“I just graduated dad,”
“Ah… I’m guessing you’re mad at me now,” my dad sat on the couch, I didn’t want to sound so, well I don’t know this flashback is hazy.
“No dad, it’s okay. I hope you were busy with something important.”
“I was, for your birthday.”
“Oh, that’s great to hear.” I was relieved that my dad remembered it was my birthday after the day of graduation.
“Red, listen,” My dad looked at me, “I have to go on a mission with my brother, but even if I miss your birthday you must take the gift.”
“Okay, dad,” I responded with disappointment since my dad would probably not show up to my birthday. Uncle Cyro and my dad were about to leave, but I ran to my dad.
“Dad, promise me that you will be okay and no matter what happens to you, come back.”
“Don’t worry, Red, I’ll make sure he gets out alive.” Uncle Cyro said, my dad laughed and he got in the car.
“Alright, goodbye,”
“Bye, son” They drove off; I thought they had something really important to be done or a mission that has to be done urgently.

1 Week Later

My dad didn’t show up, but all my friends did. I was worried and sad that he didn’t come. It was at night; a car came up to our house, it was Uncle Cyro by himself. My mom went to answer the door.
“Cyro?” my mom asked why he is here and why my dad isn’t here. Cyro wasn’t happy,
“I’m sorry…” He gave a box to my mom and she started to cry, Cyro went back to his car feeling like he committed something. I ran to him trying to hold back of what I’m not wanting to think of.
“Uncle!” I shouted and ran to him in, “Can you stay?” I wanted him to stay and tell us the story. My dad’s story not the story I’m talking about right now, not to be confused with that.
“I can’t… I need to do some cleaning up to do,” Cyro left and I went back inside to find my mom crying in the living room.
“What happened over there?” I asked myself, just holding a dead expression.

The Next Day

Funeral. Take a guess of what’s happening right now… If you don’t for some reason you need to watch more movies.
“Wait, the body was never found?” my mom asked Cyro.
“This is all we got to know,” Cyro got out a dog tag that has my dad’s name on it. “It was an explosion and it fell right next to me,”
“But that’s the thing, he could be somewhere else,” I said, but he sighed.
“Red, just face it, he’s dead,” Cyro said in a monotone voice
“Uncle, what the hay was so important that caused him to die?” I asked, my uncle looked around the room and then he told his story.
“It was just a simple sabotage mission, sneak in and place the time bomb in the enemy’s power source. Your dad placed the bomb, but we lost contact. I thought he was in trouble so I ran to him that caused the enemy to be alerted. I tried everything I can to get your dad to safety, I found him on the floor knocked out and there was some guy trying to backstab me. Of course he didn’t expect me to notice him; I got your dad up and we ran out the building as fast as possible, but…” He paused, trying to speak.
“Did the door close on him or something?” I asked him
“No, they shot him in the leg. He couldn’t get up and then the main door closed on him, and when it did the bomb exploded,” He finished his story; all I can think of at that moment is how did the dog tag fall right next to him, pretty convenient if you ask me. I was about to say something but the door opened and Celestia came in, we all looked at her with her royal guards.
“Princess, thanks for coming,” my uncle said and she responded with a nod.
“May I speak to your nephew privately, Commander?”
“I’m here,” I said in a casual manner. She signalled me to go outside and we walked outside of the building. We were in the garden well not really a garden just a graveyard with a lot of flowers. I don’t know why, but I keep thinking of zombies when I see this place.
“ReddyTech, I’m sorry for your father,” Celestia said
“Yeah, I didn’t expect for him to go off like that,”
“It is unfortunate, he was a great pony and I know you think the same as well,”
“Let me guess, you want me to take my dad’s place?” I said and Celestia seemed to expect me to say that.
“Yes,”
“Because I’m his son and somehow only I know something important of what he has done?”
“You really are like him,”
“He is my dad and I’m pretty sure I'm not an imposter,”
“That is why I am here to tell you, when you are ready I want you to join your uncle’s team,”
“Just like that? I have done nothing incredible like what he did,”
“You’ll see why I have chosen you, goodbye ReddyTech and good luck,” Celestia left with her guards and I went back inside to see my family, my mom went up to me and asked why Celestia wanted to talk to me. I looked at my uncle staring at the dog tag.
“Uncle Cyro?”
“Yeah Red?”
“Looks like I’m taking his place,”

Present Day

“And I trained for months,” I looked back to the wristband, bracelet, glove thing.
“I helped him make this for you; the magic being produced has mine,”
“Happy late birthday to me,” I looked at the screen and closed it and decided to push random stuff on it
“You shouldn’t be pressing buttons you don't know,”
“Oh what can go wrong?” I said, the glove started to glow and started to give me a magic machine gun, it started to fire all over the room and I lose control of it. Cyro managed to take off the glove from my hooves.
“You better get some training,” Cyro said, I looked at the room being filled with bullet holes and my uncle was giving off a blank face.
“Sorry, I didn’t think it would be physical,”
“Your dad created a lot of gadgets for the Equestrian military, but this is special,”
“He said it can only work for me and him, why?”
“DNA or something like that,”
“If it is DNA that means you can use it too right?”
“I tried to use it before for testing, didn’t work,” Cyro sighed and looked around the room with the damages. “This place used to be the room for your dad and me,” I started to feel bad for my uncle; the room must be a memory for him.
“It doesn’t matter anyway,” Cyro said in a positive tone, “The past is the past, and you,” he tapped the glove, “You’re his future,”
“Well thanks for making me feel fuzzy uncle,” I said as we left the room. My uncle is a great pony, whenever he has the time to babysit me when my parents are gone; he’s always there for me.

Canterlot, Tech lab
November 30th, 19:55 (Airrick)

“I wonder what that was about,” I said to Gunshow,
“Politics kid, don’t bother trying to understand it,” Gunshow said, “Well I’m heading to the armoury to check on the weapons, want me to make your blade sharper?” I hesitated to respond, but I didn’t see why not,
“Sure,” I threw the holster to his hoof; he looked down at the knife,
“You should take better care of your equipment you know,” Gun said in a concerning voice,
“I don’t usually bother since I keep myself in a distance,”
“You might want to think about being versatile in the field,” I rolled my eyes and leaned on the workbench,
“Yeah whatever, Cyro keeps telling me that,” Gunshow started to walk away and shook his head,
“Trust me,” he left and I went back to checking on my sniper, I was never a fan of close quarters; getting my hands dirty is the last thing I want to do,
“Hey Airrick!” A loud voice came behind my head, it was Sitrep.
“Jeez Sitrep, you know I hate it when you do that,” I turned to him, Sitrep was looking star struck at the beacon,
“An orbital strike beacon, I never thought the Nameless would want to get a hand on this. I mean do you know what we could do with this?” He turned to me with excitement as he grabbed my chest tightly,
“Celestia said we aren’t using it,” he let go and his face went completely opposite,
“What! Why?”
“Politics,”
“Hmm good point” he walked towards the controls of the beacon,
“Hey don’t try doing anything stupid,”
“I’m not gonna touch it, just observing,”
“Still, just don’t blow up the place,”
“Oh, I bumped into NightSound on the way here, Red and her are so much more than friends I know it,” I raised an eyebrow trying to get what he means, “C’mon don’t tell me you can’t see it, they may be friends but they are…”
“Okay I get, but it’s not even part of your business with their relationship,”
“A part of whose relationship?” a familiar voice was heard.

NightSound came in; she was the one, who said it,
“Oh NightSound, we were just talking about you,” Sitrep said it in the most innocent manner, but I yanked his tail to shut him up, “Um… Ouch,”
“Quiet Sitrep, don’t want to make things awkward,” I whispered to him with a calm voice, as I held him by the neck,
“Well it’s the truth,”
“Oh don’t make me start squeezing,”
“Don’t make me burn your face,” I was about to choke Sitrep, but NightSound giggled at us,
“You two are like brothers,”
“Technically, we sort of are, can you get your claws off me?” I let my grip off, and Sitrep cleared his throat,
“Huh, care to tell me more?” Night asked, Sitrep was going to open his mouth, but I interrupted him
“NightSound, so how are things?” I said trying to change the subject
“C’mon Airrick, you’ve been hiding something from me and Red ever since we met you,”
“Did someone say my name?” Reddy came in the room and I noticed that he’s now wearing a strange looking glove on his left hoof, it had metal plating and some emblem on it that I can’t seem to describe,
“Where did you go?” Night asked him, not acknowledging his glove
“My uncle just showed me something and now he’s preparing a training course for me,” He seemed a bit excited, “Oh hey Sitrep, what’s going on here?”
“About to tell Night our past,” Sitrep said out loud and I just couldn’t believe him, all I can think of is slapping my hand to my face,
“Fine, I’ll tell you guys,” I sighed to the others,
“I love to hear other people’s personal stories,” Reddy said as he started to grab chairs from… I have no idea where he got it, “it’s funny because we just knew each other for a day and we’re telling our entire personal life.” He is a really random pony,
“Sitrep and I met here in this whole academy of highly trained soldiers, Sitrep and I both started at the age of 8, and yes we are both 20 right now.”
“It was a big coincidence to know that you guys were the same,” The green dragon added,
“Before I joined the academy my dad was a mercenary,” I continued my story, “I never knew my mom, my dad said she died and that was all he said.”
“No details, no background?” NightSound asked,
“Nothing, just dead; my dad was always a bit shady, I mean he had a black body and light grey head, just like me, but the eyes were something different. I can’t remember which eye colour he had, but mines as you can see are brown,”
“Yeah, you’re always forgetful of the simplest things,” Sitrep snickered, I nudged him for saying so,
“He was a specialist with all kinds of weapons, when it was my first time shooting my sniper he said that I had the…” I paused for a moment, trying to remember what the word was,
“Told you guys,” Sitrep snickered,
“So why did you join the academy?” NightSound asked,
“My dad said I was ready to join and he had to do a job that won’t allow him to take care of me anymore,”
“Oh oh, let me guess,” Reddytech was raising his left hoof that had that glove with weird markings on, “And he’s dead right,”
“No!” I yelled, I looked at the others they all had a worried look, I calmed myself down and apologized for the outburst, “it’s just that he hasn’t responded for years that’s all,”
“So you think that?” Night asked
“Still alive? Yes, look I don’t like talking about my past” it was a quiet moment for the time being.
“So wanna hear my story now?” Sitrep said, just as he said it, Gunshow and Cyro came in, “Aw man, it was gonna be good,”
“Maybe next time Sitrep,” Reddy said to the green dragon,
“You guys getting more acquainted?” The commander said,
“Looks like it,” Gunshow walks towards me with the improved knife in the holster, “I made some modifications to it,”
“What did you…?”
“Try it out to find out,” Gunshow interrupted me; I just gave a confused look.
“Alright we’re continuing the mission,” Everyone focuses on The Commander, “thanks to the orbital beacon we managed to locate the pony who wanted to use this in the first place.”
“Then we use the beacon to blow them up right?” ReddyTech said, Sitrep seemed to agree,
“No, we are not allowed to use the beacon. The reason is classified.”
“Of course it is,” I said, Night looked at me with a concerned looked,
“Okay, we’re all set, now all of you to the hanger when you’re ready.”

Canterlot, Armoury

The armoury is huge and packed with weapons and armour I never seen before; I can see GunShow’s reaction to this place. Anyway my uncle made some adjustments to the glove; so it can make it makes it easier to control and not causes a lot of chaos.
“I realise that the glove is running on a battery,” Cyro is describing to me, “A magic battery,”
“There are always drawbacks in these sorts of things,” I responded, I mean seriously what is with amazing weapons having downsides.
“Red, I don’t want to make more complex information on this, the only magic that can power the glove can only be powered by our bloodline,”
“So, only you can charge it?” My grandparents are dead, so no point looking at them. My grandma was a unicorn and my grandpa was an earth pony. My mom’s side of the family has no relations to unicorns. Cyro is the only one left in our family right now.
“Yes, try it on.” I put on the glove on my left hoof, since I'm right hoofed. “I’m going to teach you a basic levitation spell, give me your hat,”
“Oh...” I took off my hat and passed it to him. I never feel comfortable taking off my hat; Cyro looked at me with a static face for a while. I look like my dad, same mane style, similar colours and identical personalities.
“Aim the glove and focus,” he puts on my hat
“What? Like think to levitate it?”
“Yes,” I aimed the glove at my hat and thought of lifting it. The glove powered up and it was surrounded by a dark red aura, at first it was the glove, then my entire leg was glowing. Uncle Cyro became very concerned as if that something is going wrong. I tried to stay calm and lift my hat, it was slightly floating, but I focused harder.
“Easy there, don’t push yourself kid,” Cyro warned me. I managed to put on my hat with the glove, I stopped trying to focus and turn off the glove.
“How was it?” I asked, he just stared at me, with no response
“It’s Good enough, Get yourself ready,” Cyro said with no emotion coming out of him, but why should I comment about that when I got a magic welding weapon. I got my bullet-proof vest, fixed my hat and turned on the glove.

Canterlot, Hanger
November 30th, 20:20

I would have more comments about this weapon, but there was something else on my mind. The team, don’t get me wrong I can start to like them as a family to me, since I have a feeling we’re going to be with each other for who knows how long. Cyro, he’s my uncle, of course I like him. Night Sound, best friends since we were born, I remember when I first met her she was very… very quiet, go figure, she only talked whenever any adult asks her something. Airrick and Sitrep, I’m not sure about Sitrep yet, I haven’t heard his story, but the relation with him and Airrick is interesting, just like bros they must’ve been through a lot together. The big question is Gun Show, an ex-captain for security in Manehatten; I don’t think what he did makes him get fired, there has to be something that motivated him to be assign to this team. Woah! I just made a monologue I have to meet the others before this gets boring.
“C’mon Red, briefing is inside,” Sitrep was waiting outside for me, we walked in the plane to see the others having the briefing,
“Is everyone here?” Cyro asked, we came in the room just on time “we found out the location where the beacon was going to be delivered,”
“How did they find out so quickly?” Airrick asked,
“We found the shipping information inside the jacked plane,”
“That’s… convenient” Airrick said, I couldn’t agree more with him,
“Somehow they were going to ship it to a warehouse in Cloudsdale” Cyro continued, “And we have to infiltrate the warehouse, located here,” The screen on the wall near the cockpit area, I don’t know anything about planes, so I have no idea how to describe this plane. It has monitors, guns, and controls, that is pretty much all I can say. Anyway back on topic, the screen showed the map of where the warehouse is, which is near the colosseum
“Night Sound,” Cyro asked her, “Do you have an idea, why the Nameless are doing there?” She took her time to think about it,
“The Wonderbolts,”
“I get it, they want to ‘persuade’ them to be their propaganda,” Gun Show pointed out
“I find it strange,” Night continued her point, “It is very early before the Wonderbolts do a special event,”
“We’ll figure that out later,” Cyro said, “Right now, we will be assigned into teams for this infiltration mission. ReddyTech, Night Sound, Gun Show and I, we’re the first ones to go in from the roof.”
I wasn’t sure if I was excited or not, but after how the last mission went how can stealth go wrong. I think I jinxed myself there
“Airrick, you’re the eye in the sky,”
At least I was getting to see Airrick in action,
“Sitrep you do your hacker stuff and make sure their blind,” Cyro assigned our roles, Sitrep left the plane, wishes us luck and went to the communication centre, as always I was glad we’re at least doing a mission where it seems easier.
“All right guys strap in we’re launching,” Airrick said, the engines ignite, the hanger door opens and we’re all seated down strapped.
“Have fun guys,” Sitrep said through the plane’s comms, “Permission to fly granted,”
“And we are off,” Airrick said in a dramatic way, the plane launched and we’re in the air heading to Cloudsdale. I sat next to Night Sound for the, and I wanted to have a conversation with her for Cloudsdale,
“So, Night,” I said, she turned her head to me from, “How’s Cloudsdale?”
“Oh, um, good,” She didn’t sounded like she was expecting that question. “I get noticed a lot since being a Martial arts trainer,”
“Hey, let us not forget that you used to be a Wonderbolt,” Gun Show added, he was sitting opposite to us two, same with Cyro.
“You used to be a Wonderbolt?” Airrick said from the pilot’s seat, “That’s awesome,” Night became shy and looked down, I patted her back,
“Nothing wrong for being one, right?” I asked to her, she looked up to me and came close to me,
“Red, I really don’t want to talk about it,” she whispered in my ear, I was curious of why she doesn’t,
“Okay,” I wondered why, but if she doesn’t want to talk about it she really doesn’t, I know from experience,
“All right filly and gentle colts,” Airrick said,
“And dragon,” Sitrep said over the com, like a kid looking for attention
“Welcome to Cloudsdale,” Airrick slowed down just show us it, and wow I never saw Cloudsdale in person, too bad it was night time so I can’t really see much of it, just light posts.
“I cast the spell on us so we can walk on the clouds,” Cyro said to us mainly me and Gun, I never walked on clouds before, Gun Show and Cyro get ready
“Okay, dropping you guys off above the warehouse in 3, now!” Airrick opens the doors with his incredible timing, and I happen to land face first on the roof
“Why don’t we land next time?” I said, the others landed as well,
“Keeps a low profile,” Cyro explained “We don’t want to attract anybody’s attention around here,” Cyro looked around the roof of the warehouse, he found a roof access door but it has an electronic lock the kind where only heavy equipment can unlock,
“An electronic lock for a warehouse? What’s inside this place?” I asked
“We’re about to find out,” Gunshow said, I walked up to the lock and turned on my glove, Uncle Cyro gave me a nod when I did so, I guess he wanted to see if the glove has some sort of hacking tool. A screen popped up showing me a message saying “Hack? Yes or no?”
“What are you doing?” Night said to me,
“I don’t know, but I’m gonna say yes,” I pressed yes and the lock opened,
“Did your uncle give you this?”
“Actually, my dad technically, but when he died Cyro gave it and-“
“Okay, your uncle gave it,” Night interrupted me,
“Looks like this thing has a lot more than I expect,”
“Guys, I’m in a safe distance,” Airrick said through our earpieces “I got sleeper rounds ready,”
“Good, Red you got the door open?” Cyro said,
“Yeah,”
“Alright, this is a stealth mission without any casualties needed,”
“I hate missions like that, it gives bad ratings,” Gunshow said, and I just realised what he meant, he is one crazy pony,
I push opened the door and there was a stairway down,
“Fillies, first” I presented to Night
“You were always a gentlecolt, Red”
“You know it,” Night and I go way back, it was funny to see her change from a very quiet pony into a… Sorry my brain shut off there, what was I talking about? Oh yeah and that’s why I never hit it with a wrench again. We were going down and Night stopped as we reached the bottom,
“Checking for cameras,” Cyro said, his horn glowed and he started looking around, “Good news, no cameras on where we’re going, the security room is on the right and we can monitor the entire warehouse,”
“Wow, this warehouse has terrible security then,”
“Gun, take out the guard, don’t knock him out, interrogate him,” Cyro commanded “Red, Night I want you two to check the rooms that have any nameless, Gun will tell you where they are,”
“What about you?” I asked, Cyro went invisible with his magic, “I bet he finds that very useful,”
“Well, I’m gonna have fun with this,” Gunshow bumped his hooves and opened the silently, there was a stallion at the desk monitoring the cameras and he was talking to someone on the radio, Gunshow snuck up behind him and held his mouth and pushed him against the wall away from the alarms, “stay quiet and I’ll make sure you won’t have a closed casket,” the guy on the radio was asking if there was a problem,
“Guys, get the radio,” I went to grab the radio on the desk and the guy was getting worried; “Now I want you to say that everything’s fine and please…” Gun was twisting his neck, threatening to break it, “Don’t ruin the show,” I held the radio on the guard’s face, the man on the radio was asking if he’s okay, Gun slowly took his hoof off of his mouth,
“I’m fine,” the guard responded
“You sure? You don’t sound like it, I’m coming to see you to make sure,”
“Your friend is going to have the same experience as you if he comes up here,” Gunshow said,
“No really, I-I’m just tired,” the guard said
“Okay, it sounds like you’re dying or something,”
“Thanks for participating in this act,” Gunshow said and he slammed his head on the wall to knock him out,
“Wow, gun, you’re scary, but I thought we were gonna interrogate him” I said, as I put the radio on the desk,
“Meh whatever, I’m gonna check where the nameless are, best for you two to get a head start,” Gunshow said, “I’ll take care of him,” me and Nightsound left the room and we were at a catwalk that’s very high above the entire warehouse,
“Stay low,” Night shoved my back to the floor as two nameless guards talking to each other, walking below us; I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, “I think we should follow them, they could be important,”
“Nah, Cyro said that Gun will tell us where to go to find the guys behind this,” I said to Night, one of the nameless guards stopped talking and looked up,
“Hey! Anypony up there?” the guard said, me and night stayed down and didn’t make a sound, the guard started to fly up and the other one got his gun out, but something grabbed both his front hooves on his back and knocked him out, it was Cyro, kind of a no brainer to know it was him
“Night, throw Red at him,” Cyro said through the our ear pieces and wait,
“What?” Night threw me and I landed on the guard and we both fell to the ground, he was trying to cry for help but I was on his mouth,
“Red, you have a stun gun installed in your glove,” Cyro said, I thought of electricity and the glove started to spark so I hit the guard with it. It was a quick fry, because it took like a second for him to pass out from the shock,
“You guys done?” Gun said from the security room, “I found where they are,”
“Good,” Cyro responded, “I managed to find info of this place, there are a lot of resources, mostly building materials, and maybe they’re planning on making a weapon,”
“That could explain the EMP or Beacon, whatever,” Airrick said through the comms
“Shouldn’t we find where the nameless are and talk about this stuff later?” I asked,
“Yeah, I’m surprised there weren’t many guards around here,” Cyro said, “I guess it’s because that this warehouse just has building materials and that’s it,”
“Commander, I got some other guys coming in,” Airrick said
“Alright you two get back to finding the nameless, Airrick get ready to shoot, Gun stay where you are in case any of them enter.” We all went on doing our job,
“Red, Night, head onto the bottom floor corridor and go to the door at the end,” I rogered him, do people say that anymore? Anyway, Night and I snuck in the room by the classic air vents. We say three guys and it was one of the nameless we keep seeing on TV, I knew it was him because he had a bright blue mane and a light grey body with a mirror for cutie mark, there was another nameless that looked like a bodyguard and there was a mare with an orange mane and yellow. The nameless was sitting on his chair behind his desk.
“Spitfire? What are you doing?” Night whispered to herself, I was confused for a moment, and then I remembered that Spitfire is the leader of the Wonderbolts.
“No, the Wonderbolts aren’t the kind of ponies that want to make a bad press on the Princess,” Spitfire said talking to the nameless guy,
“I admire your loyalty to the princess, and I'm not forcing you to do this,” The nameless said, “but just remember what I told you about her,”
“Goodbye, Crystal Glow,” Spitfire left and Crystal leaned back on his seat, I never paid any attention to the name for the nameless, wow that sounded stupid, so his name is Crystal Glow
“Red use the gun the commander gave you,” Night whispered to me, I opened my bag and got a pistol that shoots a device that tracks people,”
“Who should I plant it on?” I asked Night
“Anyone of them, doesn’t matter they’re gonna go to the same place” I shot it at the bodyguard, luckily he was paying attention to Crystal rather than feeling a bug biting him,
“Alright let’s go,” I said, Night and I, left the air vents and we met at the security room, there were a bunch of guards on the floor including the ones that we fought and there were sleep darts on all their necks, there was a poorly drawn dart board that was drawn with markers on the wall, the security monitors were showing flashing colours, a couple of beer bottles on the tables and Gunshow was kicking back on the chair,
“Yeah, Sitrep did the flashing lights for me, anyway rendezvous on the roof,” Gunshow started walking to the roof; I never knew he was the fancy type, but we didn’t question and we moved on. Cyro was waiting on the edge of the building, “by the way, I don’t drink, so don’t worry ‘bout that,”
“Night get your head start,” Cyro said and Night nodded and flew downwards, “Red, stand next to me,” I was expecting something is going to happen,
“Best to hold on to your hat,” Gun chuckled, the cloud spell was gone and we were falling through the clouds,
“Why don’t you ever tell me the entire plan?” I yelled as were we falling
“Airrick!” Cyro shouted and we landed on the plane, but I flopped
“Gotcha!” Airrick said, Cyro teleported us in the plane, I was still face planted on the floor. Night helped me up and asked if I was okay. “Did you see the darts?”
“I’m guessing that was you,” I said
“You know it,” Airrick responded in a very cocky voice,
“Red, Night, did you manage to get any info?” Cyro asked, we sat down on the seats,
“Yes, fortunately Spitfire didn’t accept the deal,” Night said,
“And I planted the bug on the bodyguard,”
“The bodyguard?” Cyro responded, “Interesting choice, but that’s also a good one, knowing bodyguards they have to stay with their clients. Good, Spitfire didn’t accept the deal, so that means the Wonderbolts aren’t with ‘em. You managed to get the bug on them so we can track their HQ, get evidence that their actions are against the law and execute the final plan,”
“That was really fun,” I said, “I can see why you like your job,” I said to Uncle Cyro,
“That’s debatable,” he responded, “Airrick take us home,”
“You got it, ETA 30 seconds,” Airrick said, we were heading home, and hey, maybe I can finally get some sleep for the day. Overall about that mission, I still didn’t get to see Airrick shooting live, but he does seem to land good shots. Gunshow still confuses, why is he so different during mission and not? I’m not sure, split-personalities? I don’t know. Nightsound follows orders no matter what; my back is still aching from that fall. And my glove really does act like a unicorn horn, just think or imagine it and it happens. Why did my dad make something like this for me? Especially when it’s a weapon.
