The Terran Federation Battlecruiser 'Judgement of Syrinx' has been set off course by a projectile contact in the seconds before entry into warp-space. Ejected into the unknown of space far out of reach of their patrol route and Federation resupply, the 'Judgement of Syrinx' crash lands upon the surface of Equestria, in the frozen base of the crystal mountains. Her crew of nearly twenty-thousand stranded, they see little hope of return, and await starvation and constriction within the slowly-freezing husk of a ship. But ancient human philosophy has stated with solemn certainty that it is indeed darkest before the dawn.
