A Breezie's Wings
They're Real
Previous ChapterIf somepony told me that they believed in Breezies, I would just laugh right in their face.
But certainly not now. I've already tried convincing myself that it was just an insect, but I know I'm lying.
I got up from my bed and smuggled the half-eaten cupcake from my homework desk. That would've surely calmed me-
What the-? A little yellow glow was behind my math textbook. FIREFLY!! I slowly picked up a jar and removed the lid.
A few seconds later, I tried to snap the lid on the lighting bug. I missed. It flew to the other side of the room, its glow slightly fading away. I then leaped over there when it least expected it and tried again. The firefly zipped to my closet and hovered before it.
"Why are you making this so hard, you pest!! Just let me catch y-ACK!!"
I tripped over a book and fell headfirst into my closet.
Ugh. I REALLY have to clean my room up.
That's when I noticed. I had caught the firefly! I stared at it in the jar.
Oh. Oh no. THAT was NOT a firefly. That was-
"THE BREEZIE!!!!!!!" I whisper-yelled. I dropped the jar and scrambled backwards. And with that, the lid fell off.
The breezie slowly flew out of the jar. She was yellow with blonde mane hair, like me, except with highlights. She had two pairs of silver-lined pearly wings, and two white antennae. The yellow glow that surrounded her disappeared altogether.
"Jeez, that was a hard landing for me." She smoothened out her wings and then glowered at me.
I just stared. "Who are you? Where do you live? Are there any other breezies in my room??"
"Slow down, filly. I'm Zipzee Zenata Zalia, but you can call me Zipzee. That is, if I see you again. I live in Breezie Blossom, and I am the only one here, actually." Zipzee headed for my open window.
"Er, Zipzee, wait! What's with the intro if you won't see me again? And what's Breezie Blossom? I want to be friends, we don't have to end things like-"
"Oh, Celestia, I'm so sorry, I was so rude." I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not. "Breezie Blossom is just a meadow with every type of flower in it. And it's right here in Ponyville! Plus, we actually CANNOT be friends, Dinky." She tried to flitter off again, but I stopped her once more.
"How do you know my name? Why did you fly away when I tried to catch you? Why can't we be friends?"
" If I tell you how I know your name, I'll be giving away too much information. And your second question should be obvious; Celestia knows what you would have done with me if you hadn't dropped the jar. And we just simply can't be friends."
"BUT WHY??!!??!!"
"You murdered my best friend."
"Look, I highly doubted Breezies existed before tonight;HOW could I have anything to do with the death of your bestie?"
"Every time a pony thinks or says,'I don't believe in Breezies,' somewhere in Breezie Blossom, a Breezie drops dead. This time you kept thinking that you don't believe in us, and my friend Roseluck had her burial in the afternoon today."
"Oh. I'm sorry about that-"
"Save it, Dinky Doo. Ponies and breezies just don't mix." And with that, she flew off, and I didn't dare stop her this time.
