//-------------------------------------------------------// The Light of Hope -by M6003dt47- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The summoning //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The summoning The day was shining, the sun was weeping its rays of light on the world, and it was perfect. Chris strolled along the sidewalk taking a sip of his nice cold cool-aid and just thinking about natural life. He wondered if there was homework due tomorrow at the beginning of class, or how much he couldn't wait to see his girlfriend Allison. Chris stopped at a bench and sat down taking in a deep breath and assessing the world around him. He noticed the trees and how their green leaves seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. He gazed at the sky above, covering his eyes so he wouldn't get blinded by the sun. He also noticed that it was the most silent day he had ever had. He picked himself up off the bench and continued on his journey to his friend Layton's house. He scooted past the torn down trees, and positioned himself far from the street as if he were still afraid to cross it without someone there. Then as if it was magic the house shimmered out in the distance. "Finally," Chris thought to himself. He walked up onto the cracked stone porch and rang the bell, hearing the little chime going on and off as if it were dancing. Layton went to the door, making sure to peep through the little window at the top. He opened the door with a wide swing of his arm and said happily "Hello my good friend. How's it going?" Layton ushered in Chris making sure that his guest was nice and comfortable. Chris thanked him and went to the couch where he sat with a great puff of his breath."Man it feels sooo good to sit down" he said in a relieved voice. "It was such a long walk" "It's barely two miles to my house!"Layton teased. "You must really be lazy" "I am and it's not that bad. It's just that I don't walk outside much" proclaimed Chris. "Why did you bring me here anyways? It was kind of sudden and all that. My mom almost didn't let me come." "Yea sorry about that" said Layton. "I really don't know why it was so sudden, I just really wanted to have you over. Oh yea that reminds me. I need to show you something". He got up off of the plushy couch and started to walk towards his room, the floor creaking ominously under every step. "Well come on!" shouted Layton from down the hall. Chris got up and started to follow the same path Layton took. "It's in here" Layton whispered. Layton opened the door and pushed Chris in so fast he lost his way of direction for a few seconds. When he finally was balanced again he looked around the mysterious room taking in his surroundings. What he saw was absolutely amazing. He saw a gigantic computer screen with blinking lights and flashes of information across the screen. His eyes gazed at the keyboard and the many systems wired up to the thing. "You finished it!!" shouted Chris in a very joyous manner. "But how?" "I just went with what I thought best. I kind of just winged it you might say" Layton said shrugging his shoulders. "Well what we've achieved is amazing! We could get a Nobel Prize for this!": Chris proclaimed. " I mean we actually built a cross transfer dimension portal! We just need to install the programming and......." "Done and Done"Layton stated. "I told you everything is complete. All we really need to do is test it. If everything goes okay we'll be able to come back here at will" "Are you sure it's safe? I don't want to be trapped in a randomized alternate realm" questioned Chris. "Everything will be fine," reassured Layton. "I made sure everything is up to date and speed. It'll only take seconds." Layton pressed a button on the panel closest to him, making two chairs slide gently into place in front of the monitor. Layton sat in one and Chris in the other. Metal straps closed around their wrists, and the chairs leaned back slowly. The lights went out, probably from the machine using so much power. Then red lights flashed, alarms went off, and an ominous voice rang through the room. "You two will be my heroes. You are destined to follow me! You are perfect!" The two friends started to struggle to get out of the bonds. The computer sparked and burst into flame, and and the room started to tilt as if the house was falling apart. They screamed and yelled, but the voice shushed them. They panicked and with every last hope they prayed. They prayed long and hard, but it wasn't enough. The alarms stopped, and the red lights turned off as if they didn't want to witness the scene. The bonds were released and both Layton and Chris fell into a very deep sleep. Everything was black. A cool feeling shuddered throughout the air. It was silent, but a very creepy silent. Then both of them opened their eyes. They saw a world of bright colors. Birds flew through the air, The sun was shining, and it was so different from the darkness of their mind. They got up off the ground. They couldn't remember what happened or who they were. They could only remember the ominous voice and three things. One of them was named Calc, the other was named Stormwing Breeze, and they were ponies who lived in a place called Equestria. Calc looked forward seeing a pink pony in the distance. Stormwing stood beside him and looked at the pink pony with curiosity in his glare. "So are we friends?" asked Calc. "I think so, but I can't remember anything before that crazy voice" answered Stormwing. "All I can remember is my name" "What's your name?" questioned Calc. "It's Stormwing Breeze. What about you?" stated Stormwing. "Oh mine it's Calc. Its kind of simple, but I like it" answered Calc. "So do you want to go talk to that pink pony over there?" suggested Stormwing "Oh, why not?" Calc huffed. The two new ponies started to trot toward the pink pony not knowing who they once were or why they were there. All they wanted to know now was why they had lost their memory and what the reasoning was behind it. They both thought the same thing. What's going to happen to us?
