Applejack was pacing around the kitchen worried about Apple bloom's cousin, who was in serious condition when they found her hardly breathing body. She rushed to the phone when a quick ring entered her ears. "Hello who is this?" wondered Applejack as soon as she answered the phone.
"It's your uncle Orange, it's about Babs Seed..." he gave a long respectful pause.
"She...She isn't going to make it, she is in too rough condition even if she pulled through she would be miserable the rest of her life" Orange informed sadly. Applejack bit her bottom lip thinking of how to explain to the little yellow filly that her cousin is hospitalized on her birthday none the less. "I see so what will happen?" wondered Applejack.
"Well we were thinking we were going to pull the plug" Applejack heard both crying in the back ground and in the uncle's voice. "Oh, it's that bad?" said Applejack.
"Yes, she will die soon enough anyway" the uncle sighed.
"That's not good at all" Applejack bit her lip even harder.
"Have you a way you're going to tell Apple bloom the bad news?" trying to change the subject slightly.
"I'm the element of honesty I'm going to be honest to her" Applejack gulped.
"Being honest is going to break her heart hearing her favorite cousin is going to die on her birthday" said the uncle.
"I know but lying is going to hurt her even more at the next family reunion," added Applejack.
"Oh, you’re right" the uncle said. "I'll call later bye" told the uncle.
The orange mare knocked on Apple bloom's door. "Come in" told a southern accented filly. Applejack opened the door
"Hay Apple bloom how are?" asked the orange mare.
"Oh I'm fine I was told a few days ago in a letter that Babs Seed is going to be at my birthday party" The filly gave a large ear to ear grin. "Well that's going to be a problem you see sugar cube Babs Seed is never coming to Ponyville again," she was rudely interrupted by Apple bloom. "Why not" wondered Apple bloom.
"Because she isn't with us anymore" Applejack was shady in details. Apple bloom saw a clear drop of liquid in the side of her sister's eye. "What do you mean?" asked the confused filly. Applejack spent a few minutes telling her younger sister about death, as soon as she finished the mare noticed water coming out of the fillies eyes like a water fall "Now sugar cube no pony is eternal except" explained Applejack trying to comfort the filly but she was only being pushed away. "Look I understand your sadness I loved Babs too but we have to move on" comforted Applejack. Apple bloom still crying finally managed to say a few words. "But...But...But why now, why on my birthday?" groaned Apple bloom drooping her head feeling like it was her fault. "Liston it wasn't your fault the train crashed sugar cube" explained Applejack trying to comfort her again. Apple bloom started crying again that looked like a waterfall, Applejack rubbed her eyes gently. "My I just go to bed?" questioned Apple bloom.
"Yes you can Apple bloom you've been through a lot of stress now feel free" answered Applejack.
"Thanks" Apple bloom said as Applejack walked out the bedroom.
"No problem" smiled Applejack.
Apple bloom woke up in the middle of the night, she sighed "If only I knew the train was going to crash then my cousin would still be alive" she said to herself. "It's all my fault" Apple bloom said lowering her head down. She sighed as she layer in bed until she fell asleep at two A.M. soon she heard a roster a little slow. She was shocked Apple bloom out of bed. "Come on sis times is wasting" Applejack smirked.
"Coming...sis" Apple bloom sighed as she walked out the door.
"Is everything alright you seem a bit drossy?" asked Applejack staring at the earth filly.
"I'm fine Applejack" Apple bloom gave a weak smile she never slept this badly before.
"Okay... it's time to eat" informed Applejack. Apple bloom was only picking at her food she hardly eat she wasn't too hungry because in the back of her mind is that nagging feeling that it was all her fault that her cousin is dead. "Are you sure your all right?" asked Applejack at the edge of her table.
"I said I'm fine!" snapped Apple bloom.
"Apple bloom watch your tone!" Applejack snapped back. Apple bloom's ears drooped as she contused to pick at her food.
"Well you should get going to school Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo is probably waiting for you" Applejack pointed out.
"No they aren't Scootaloo's hospitalized because she crashed during a flying lesson, and Sweetie Belle is home sick," Apple bloom rolled her eyes. "Oh, well then maybe you should get ready for school anyway" Applejack corrected.
"Okay" answered Apple bloom. She started getting ready for school as she got ready she realized she had a smart teacher that might know things she wants to know. She thought for a moment "I know I'm going to build a new Babs and make her have all the fun memories we shared together," she said smirking.
After class she stayed in the room and waited until it was only her and Cherilee was the only one in class to speak her mind. "Hay miss Cherilee can I ask you a few questions?" asked Apple bloom.
"Oh, yes of course Apple bloom," Cherilee said.
"Um, you see I want to build a robot any idea where I can build it?" Apple bloom was shady on details.
"Well maybe over at that old building it was a place for robots to be built sadly it closed down" Cherilee said.
"I'll work straight away on the robot" told Apple bloom running to the building.
Many hours later as soon as she got her bearings she walked home. She was then scolded by her sister. "Apple bloom, don't scare me like that I am suppose to take care of you." Applejack rolled her eyes.
"I know Applejack" Applebloom sighed.
"Let's eat then go to bed please" groaned Applejack.
"Okay, sis I'll go to bed" Apple bloom smiled as she started eating this time she wasn't picking at her food. She then went straight to bed happy to know she will have her old cousin soon enough.
