The Story of My Life!
Out and About
Load Full StoryFor me life didn't start easy. I almost died at birth, moved to Austin, Texas at three from Santa Cruz, California, and I have worlds weirdest little brother. After being oldest, adventures, and crazy, life does have some swings to it. Lily and Honeysuckle have been my best friends since Pre-K, They moved away. Lancer and his little sister Minty have been my friends since I moved here but they've always lived far away.
Today is the first day of kindergarten. I’m 5 years old and super excited. I guess I’m a little nervous too but mostly excited. We drive up to the back doors of the school near the kinder and pre-k wing of the school.
I jump out with my backpack over my shoulder and only one shoe tied and the shoe lace whipping my feet, almost trip on it, then open the passenger door. “Come on mom! We’re going to be late!” She smiles at me and stubbles slightly at my pulling while getting out.
“Call down Pinkie. We’re already early.” She giggles at my unfaltering smile.
“I know. Buuuut... I’m just so excited!” She giggles again at my now constant jumping.
“Ok, ok. Lets go then.” She closes the car door and I lead (or pull her against her will) her in side.
The hallways have empty bulletin boards, empty hangers, empty signs, and empty doors. It’s just empty. I just know I’ll brighten it up like this *snap*. My bright pink hair bobing up and down on my head, my bright blue eyes scanning every corner, my smile covering more of my every feature then just my face. I’m unmistakably happy.
When we enter the class theres already groups of friends, groups of parents, groups without me. They went here last year so they already know each other. I don't know a single person. The teacher clears her throat getting everyone's attention.
“Welcome to kindergarten. This is a eventful year I hope. We are the monarchs in this class. As most of you may know each class is a different animal. Now my name is Mrs. Gingerbread. Can you all sit in a circle on the carpet so we can learn your names. Parents you can sit at the tables.” A small snicker rises from us as we watch our parents sit uncomfortably in the tiny chairs. “Now when I point at you please tell us your name and three things about you.”
She points at a girl with orange hair with pale orange stripes in it and green eyes. “My names Junebug! I love flowers and hope to own a flower shop some day! My favorite color is blue.” She says with a shy smile and a wave.
“Thank you Junebug, its nice to meet you.” Then she points to another girl who has pale yellow hair and yellow eyes.
“Hi, my names Derpy! I’m super excited to be here and meet new people. People say I have a very bubbly attitude.” She says with a innocent and happy smile.
“Nice to meet you Derpy.” She points to another girl who has dark purple hair and light and dark green eyes.
“I’m Kimono. I like make lanterns, decorate and design them.” She says with a smile. Her english isn't very good though.
The teacher then points to me. I smile. “Hi, my names Pinkie Pie but you can just call me Pinkie. I’m super excited to be here. To meet new people and make new friends. I love spreading smiles and making people laugh. I’m super good at parties and making people laugh and super happy. I can't wait to get to know all of you and have a great year to. It’s my dream to be a baker in a little town who throws all of the parties you do and don't want... I’m rambling aren't I?” The teacher and various students and parents node.
Mrs. Ginger points at another student with blue hair and purple eyes. “I’m Firefly. My favorite color is pink and I love storms. My favorite part of a storm is the lightning.” She says quietly.
Mrs. Ginger then points at a boy with brown eyes and brown hair. “Featherweight. I like feathers, airplanes, and brown.” Everyone laughs at how fast he gets it done.
Next is a boy who has slate blue hair and green eyes. “Soarin, planes, lightning, me.” The boy each get it done quickly.
Next is the last one. We have a small class. He has orange hair and green eyes. “I’m Joe. I like to make and eat donuts. thats about it. Some people call me Donut Joe.” He states deadpan.
“Well its nice to meet everyone!”
The day goes on like this with a introduction of another girl named Blossomforth, who has pink and green hair and blue eyes, who came in late. Gym was boring. Nobody laughed because of me, actually when ever i did something it took away their smiles.
A few weeks later they figured out my middle name was Diane and called me Diddle Laugh. They met it as I was the least laughable person they’ve ever met. I ran up to my room in tears every day whenever I got home. I never told my mom why though. She hated seeing me like that but could do nothing, I can tell it broke her heart. My hair I'm sure is permanently flat. What I hate most was in 2 years when I start second grade my brother will go there. I hope they don't hurt him like they hurt me.
I know who started the nickname now, it was Featherweight. Donut Joe isn’t very nice and Soarin and I are kinda friends just its the kind of friendship where you fight the whole time so its not my favorite but at least I have a friend.
Today was horrible! We had a field trip and I was in charge of food. Everyone came up to me and yelled at me for more food because they were still hungry. When we ran out everyone yelled at me. My hair got even flatter. Derpy is nice to me and gave me her food because I never got any. Shes really nice and true to her word she does have a very bubbly personality. She’s clumsy though and when every theres a storm lightning strikes around her. Its weird but I don't mind, at least I don't have a friend who I fight with all the time. Her and Soarin really help by giving my hair a little puff. Not alot though.
Soarin gave featherweight a piece of his mind for coming up with that nickname. EVeryone just laughed at him. He didn't back down, it was kinda scary how confident he was. I’m proud to have friends like him and Derpy, no not only proud I’m happy. They keep me going keep me strong. They keep me happy and proud and I could never thank them enough. Actually they're starting to get annoyed by how much I say thank you.
“Hey Soarin!"
“Yeah Pinkie?”
“I Just got an invite to your, thank you, party and it didn't have the, thank you, time. Could you tell me when?”
“Oh its 4-5.”
“Thank you. Bye.”
That was one of our many conversations. I kinda agree though, way to much ‘thank you’. Derpy doesn't seem to mind though, shes actually grateful I have a reason to say thank you.
I’m freaking out with renewed excitement. Today is March 1st. Its also a Thursday which means today and tomorrow are the last days till spring break. YAY!!! No more school. Ok so spring break consisted of sitting in a car on the long drive to California to visit my relatives, but I had a bunch of fun learning to buggy board at the beach... I still have sand in my hair though.
So today they changed my little nickname to Diddleweight. To actually think of these names is impressive. Featherweight made fun of me by comparing me to him. Nothing. I was nothing compared to him. That made my hair even flatter than usual. Sigh, I wish I was at least something compared to him.
Last day of school. No fun. We had a party and Derpy, Soarin, and I all had to leave early to clean a mix of punch and cake off our shirts and pants. I feel sorry for them. If it weren't me they wouldn't be treated like this, but they are because of me. More sighs, I just with life wouldn't be so harsh, or pick favorites.
