Pinkie Pie Makes a Sandwich
"Hold still Pinkie!" Twilight grunted as she charged the magic into her horn. Meanwhile, her test subject was jumping around like a hyper filly.
"Oh, I'm just so excited! I get to be the test monkey!" Pinkie giggled. "What's this spell for did Celestia give it to you when did you learn this why did you pick me how come–"
"Pinkie!" Twilight strained. "Can we just do this?!"
Pinkie nodded violently and pulled a blindfold out from her hair, then wrapped it around her head. "Ready!"
Twilight concentrated, now that Pinkie Pie had calmed down long enough. The party mare still hummed silently and bobbed her head from side to side. The glow around the unicorn's horn gained brightness as more and more magical properties were channeled into it. Beads of sweat formed around her forehead as the spell charged, draining much of her energy. She forced her eyes to open, targeting her guinea pig. With another grunt, a bright wall of magenta fired at Pinkie. She was completely engulfed in the magic energy as the spell took effect.
"This feels funny!" Pinkie laughed. "Who-o-o-o-ah!"
Twilight collapsed onto the grass of the fields outside of Ponyville as her friend was affected. She panted like she just ran the Falling of the Leaves full sprint. Her eyes creaked open, and Pinkie was nowhere to be found.
"Did… did it… work?" she wondered aloud.
When silence was her answer, Twilight got onto her jelly legs as she stumbled forward. Several scorch marks surrounded a single piece of untouched grass, where Pinkie once sat.
"Pinkie Pie?" Twilight called. "Pinkie!"
"Down here silly!"
Twilight's vision dropped to the ground, and she gasped while mentally squeeing. Her friend was indeed alright, but tiny. So very tiny she only stood about as tall as a blade of grass. Even in her minuscule form she hopped in place with a huge smile.
"It worked! It worked!" Twilight cheered. "How do you feel?"
Pinkie giggled as she hopped onto a daisy. "Gr-r-reat!" she shouted in her tiny voice as she jumped. "I'm just like Jackie when she was Poison Joke'd! Wow you look huge Twilight! Did Celestia teach you this, or Luna, or did you read it somewhere or-"
Twilight rolled her eyes as Pinkie Pie continued her list of possible sources. This was, in fact, a spell she had been curious about ever since Applejack was shrunken down. After a few weeks of relentless bookworming she finally found that the spell had been made. And, by none other than Starswirled the Bearded himself.
"-and then we can all live in the teeny tiny dandelion house and eat it when we get hungry!" Pinkie continued. She bit a piece of the daisy's leaves off and started chewing. "So how do I get big again?"
Twilight's proud smile vanished with a droop of her lips. She spent all this time searching for a way to make somepony almost a thousandth of their size. Weeks of cramming different volumes of shrink-spell research and the effects it could have on a pony.
And she didn't even bother to look for a way to make said pony big again.
"Twiiiiiiiiliiiiiight," Pinkie hummed into her ear. "Heh-heh! Echo-echo-cho-o-o! Wow, you must have a teeny brain for a smarty pants!"
"Oh no!" Twilight said as she facehoofed. "I was so caught up on this spell I didn't even look for a growth spell!"
Pinkie Pie swung on one of Twilight's bangs in front of her eyes. "Don't worry Twiley! Just go look one up like you always do!"
"I would, but I'm not sure Starswirled even made one!" Twilight said. "Maybe there's one in the library."
"Then off we go!" Pinkie shouted as she slid down Twilight's snout.
Twilight began the short trot back into Ponyville, hoping there would be some spell that could fix her "small" problem. As they passed the residents of the quiet town, many stared in disbelief and minor interest at the miniature Pinkie Pie. The tiny mare lied on Twilight's nose and waved to any passer-by's that stared at her.
"Okay, I'll look for a spell to change you back," Twilight said as she stepped into her home. "Just wait here and don't go anywhere."
"Roger-dodger!" Pinkie saluted. She did an army march back and forth on the couch as Twilight galloped around the room.
The entire library glowed in her purple aura as the books floated over to her. She skimmed through their index's and some pages as she searched for anything related to magic growth. Hearing the commotion downstairs, her faithful assistant descended the stairs and saw his practical sister drilling through books.
"Hey Twilight," he greeted her as he came over. "What are you looking for?"
"I need to find a growth spell to change Pinkie back," she quickly said as she tossed another unhelpful book into a rapidly growing pile.
Being her assistant, Spike went over to the books and decided to get a head start before the pile turned into a mountain.
"So the shrink spell worked?" he asked eagerly.
"Yup!" Spike dropped the tomes and was crushed under them after he yelped. "Sorry Spikey!"
Spike pulled himself out from under the several books and rubbed his head. "Ugh, I thought I heard Pinkie Pie."
"Silly! Who else sounds like me? Maybe Roseluck or Daisy?" Pinkie thought in front of Spike.
The baby dragon stared in surprise at the tiny pony before him. "It did work!" Spike laughed. "I knew you could do it Twi!"
"Thanks Spike," Twilight mumbled as she tossed another book away. "But now I don't know how to change her back, and the spell didn't say if it was permanent or ephemeral on ponies."
Spike tilted his head to the side. "Efem-efmerul?"
Twilight groaned slightly and tossed another book away. "Short-term?" Spike did a small "oh" and picked up Pinkie Pie, who swung on his claw like it was a jungle gym.
"And now, Twiley's looking for a way to change me back into my big-mare body!" Pinkie laughed as she continued to swing. "You look like a big grown dragon with a baby face Spikey! Being tiny is awesome!"
Spike chuckled as he saw her attitude was still the same. "Need any help Twilight?" Spike asked. His answer was being put under a pile of tomes by various authors.
"Look through these and tell me if you find anything on growth spells," Twilight said without turning.
Pinkie had dodged the avalanche of books - thanks to her itchy ear - and now sat on the couch as she fiddled with small string of fabric. As she made it into the shape of Twilight, her stomach started to growl. She giggled and patted it lightly as she stood back up and dropped onto the wooden floor. With her supervisors backs to her, she made her way into Twilight's kitchen, which required her to gallop to make it quick. Once she reached the enchanted food storage she pulled as hard as she could until the door clicked open.
The glorious food sat on their respective shelves, organized by what food group they were in, their food type and how many calories they contained. Pinkie's mouth watered as she spotted the several ingredients for her stomach. Lettuce, tomato, onion, hot sauce, mayo, and of course bread. From her view, the fridge was a mountain just waiting to be climbed.
For sandwiches. For her stomach. For Equestria's savior!
