Brooke smiled subconsciously as she watched another 'My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic' episode on her laptop.

If she was completely honest, she didn't know how exactly she had come to enjoy watching the cartoon; she remembered hearing one of her friends talking about it and showing her a 'My Little Pony' game on his phone but nothing really explained what urged on her new found enjoyment.

Well, whatever it was, the seventeen year old 'brony' certainly didn't care now. She was completely and totally relaxed under her bed covers with her cup of tea and her laptop with the entire house to herself for a few hours.

Brooke brushed a strand of her short, purple hair out her blue eye.

Her younger brother and father had gone to train at a local boxing club in which her dad was one of the coaches and her brother was following in her father's footsteps to take up boxing.

Brooke's mother, on the other hand, had been signed up to go to Saudi Arabia because of the shortage of nurses and only came home for a few days every six weeks before flying back out again.

But, despite this, Brooke couldn't bring herself to be sad.

Nope. That tiny problem had been pushed right to the back of her mind, having been distracted by the colorful talking ponies.

… Wow. that had even sounded gay in her head.

Shaking her head to rid her of these thoughts, Brooke reached over to bedside counter in a lazy attempt to get her cup of tea.

Looking back, she's still not completely certain how it was all possible; but as Brooke grabbed her tea, she managed to spill the liquid … right over her laptop.

Like any normal person, Brooke was just worried that she had damaged the buttons or the circuitry or something, so was completely unprepared for what happened next.

Firstly, the screen began to flicker and the YouTube video began to pause and play, alternating continuously. Then the keyboard began to spark.

By this point, Brooke was beginning to panic, thinking her laptop was about to explode or catch fire. Not really knowing what else to do, Brooke began to kick the bed covers off in attempt to escape.

It was too late …

The laptop screen suddenly when black and everything stopped.

"…Oh crap I've really broken it this time," was the only sentence Brooke had time to curse when the screen cracked and exploded before everything went dark.
