She sat on the ground by a post office, alone. She looked at her hands, which were frozen and red. She put her face in her hands and cried. The only thing protecting her from the cold was a light shirt, shorts, and a scarf. She looked up, her eyes looking starry with tears. She looked at a falling snow drop, it's pattern so unique and different from the others falling around it. She remembered the last thing Twilight had said before she had agreed to go with the other ponies into this harsh new world, not knowing where they would end up, or if they would be together at all. She had raised her voice slightly at Twilight, as they were alone in the library with all the others in the portal. "I'm not unique, I'm not special" she had yelled at Twilight--completely out of character-- "I'm just a shy nobody" Twilight looked down and then stared at Fluttershy with an intense gaze "Ponies are like snowflakes, each one is different. Each one is unique. You are the best you." Fluttershy gulped and jumped in the portal with a moment of courage. Now she sat in the intense cold wondering why she had jumped through. Maybe it was that she knew she'd end up in the portal one way or another, or maybe Twilight's speech reached something in her that had always been wild, outgoing, and not one bit shy. The brave her, the one in her dreams, the one ponies looked up to, respected, not walked on. Maybe, Twilight's speech brought out that her. However, her luck was unfortunate...or maybe...it was just the start of a new time for her. She looked at all the good she had--she had clothes at least, and a scarf, and she had her brave side ready to burst out. However, her meek figure still froze as she unclenched her arms away from her chest. She sighed and held her legs close to her. She closed her eyes tight, then felt a warm figure next to her. She almost looked up, but was afraid who she would see. She felt an arms around her shoulders, and she dared it. She looked up, and saw a bearded man smiling at her. "D--D--Discord?" she shivered as she said the words. "Yep." "How are you not freezing?" "I'm special--I'm not a pony and I'm not entirely human either" Fluttershy understood. "Why did you follow me into the portal?" she asked, shivering once more. "I figured you'd need some help." Fluttershy smiled at him and lay on his lap, sleeping silently. Discord leaned back in a silent success.
