Octavia is an old school musician. She's elegant, mostly calm and very talented in her profession. She enjoys playing her cello enjoying the peaceful music of the environment that she lives in. After coming to Ponyville, she now enjoys playing her music to her friends, allowing everypony to relax with her.
So when a unicorn, who claims to be a musician, comes to town, blasting out some abomination that she calls music, interrupting Octavia's playing, she is understandably upset. Her music can't be played in this conditions. And that is bad.
