Violet Vigil was an odd, albeit empathetic filly, if one took the time to get to know her. Her parents had always known her, and they knew she deserved a better life than they could give her alone. So, they impressed upon her the need to go to school; and she did, despite the fact that it terrified her. Her rural life would come to show itself as she progressed through school and her adolescent years, even following her into adulthood.

After all, it's not quite that easy to accustom oneself to love, death, and regret.
