The Doctor

Twilight trotted down the street, humming a gleeful tune, as she aproached the library. Her saddlebags flopped up and down on her sides, as she entered the tree house, being lifted off her back shortly after. Spike was sweeping the upper floor, as he heard Twilight arrive, and scurried downstairs on his stumpy legs. "Oh hey Twilight, I cleaned the library like you asked!" He gave a proud toothy grin, stretching out his arm to present his work. However, Twilight was swallowed up by one of her books, that she just picked up from Canterlot a few hours ago. "Yeah...fine." Twilight murmured, not looking up from her book at all. Spike groaned, and walked upstairs again, being fed up with the little attention he always got, when Twilight came home with a new book. She'd always skip meals just so she could finish a chapter or two before nightfall, the only time where she would settle her book down. The reptile sighed as he placed the broom in a corner, as his stomach gave a small growl.

"Well, it is 8 P.M." Spike licked his lip as he wondered if he had any emeralds left in his storage.

"No..."

"No, not this one either..."

"Darn it, these books aren't usefull at all!"

The unicorn gave a frusted grunt, as she shut the book, and levitated another book over, and skimmed the pages. She had not found anything such as 'time traveling objects'. She finally gave a defeated sigh, and looked out the window, where Celestia's flaring was settling down in the horison. She let her head drop on her desk, as a memory of the earlier week played out in her mind.

A young mare trotted down the streets of Canterlot oblivious to her suroundings, having a large tome stuffed in her face, as she walked blindly down to the train statio-

THUNK

Twilight quickly stumbled backwards, her nose alerting her that she had smashed it against her book rather roughly. She rubbed it a bit, and looked up to see who had walked into her.

Or rather, what she had walked into.

A big blue telephone towered above her, Twilight swearing it hadn't been there before, and much why it was standing in the middle in the street.

The unicorn was just about to protest, as the door opened, and a ruffed brown stallion peeked out, and looked at her.

"Oh! Hello there, why are you laying in the ground, miss...?" The stallion looked at Twilight in wonder, as she scuffed, and stood up to pick up her book, and turned to him. "Twilight Sparkle." She mumbled as she still was recovering from her bummed nose, and wondered if it was bleeding. "Oh! Pleasure to meet you, miss Sparkle!" The odd colt beamed at her, stepping out fully from the phonebox. "I seemed to have heard a knock on my door. Was that you?"

"What is that thing doing out here in the middle of the street?!" Twilight pointed an accusing hoof at the phonebox, staring at the colt in slight annoyance.

"Oh my TARDIS? She's my space ship kind of." he padded the box proudly, and turned to the unicorn. "You want a ride miss Sparkle?"

Twilight stared at him, and then at the strange box. "...What? In that?"

"Something wrong?" The stallion blinked, and looked at her in confusion.

"Isn't it a bit...small?" She pointed out at the slim box.

"Allow me." He took her by her hoof, as Twilight felt her cheeks fluster up a bit. No stallion had been this kind to her before. She shook the thought away, and followed him into the TARDIS. Her jaw gaped at the surprising amount of space in the tiny box, all kinds of machinery in the center, and different doors leading to Celestia-know-where. "Anywhere you'd like to go?" The odd colt broke her off, looking at her with a smile.

"...Who...who are you?"

Twilight walked up to him, a look of wonder in her amethyst eyes. "Oh dear, how rude of me. I'm the Doctor of course!" He nodded, taking his navy blue top hat off his head. "'The Doctor'?" Twilight asked, puzzled. "Exactly, The Doctor!" he beamed her another smile as he pulled a lever on the panel in front of him, as strange noises echoed through the room. A moment later, it turned quiet again, as Twilight looked around in bewilderment. "What happened?" She turned to the Doctor hoping for a reasonable answer. "Well, go look for yourself!"

She stood for a moment, unsure what to so, but began walking down to the door slowly. She creaked open the door, looking outside. At first it seemed they hadn't moved an inch, but as she turned her head to the left she gasped. There, a lavender filly was walking down the streets, consumed in a book. Her navy blue locks bounced as she heard a voice was calling behind her. Before the filly could turn, she was tackled by a white colt, presumibly in his teen years. The two ponies giggled, as the older gave her noogie. "This..." Twilight gaped at the scene, going inside the TARDIS again. "You can timetravel?" She looked at him with wide eyes, fasinated by the stallions powers. "Well, kind of yes." He chuckled, and trotted over to push some various buttons, and pulled the lever again. "Well, I suppose that's enough proof for now, let's get you home. Where you at?" She blushed a little, stumbeling on her words a bit. "P-ponyville."

Twilight sighed, her cheeks having turned a soft pink. She couldn't believe it.

She was in love.
