One Little Miracle

The Miracle

Its been a few weeks since I last wrote an entry, but I'll tell you why.  A few days after the incident with the gang, I finished the movies.  All I can say is that they gave me something that I haven't had in a long time, hope and pride for myself.  I sometimes wish that I had a plushie of one of the ponies or even a tee shirt of one, but right now I was glad to have what I had and to be alive.  I've told a few of the survivor friends and they accepted it and asked, "So, who's your favorite out of all of them?".

I looked at him and said, "Pinkie Pie is my favorite."

They never asked why, but I'll tell you why she is my favorite.  I thought Pinkie Pie was the best because she always puts a  smile on ponies's faces, and yes even I get a smile from her craziness now and then.  Her hair is another reason for it reminds me of cotton candy that I use to eat as a kid at carnivals with my parents.  She is always so cheery and happy that I sometimes jump off my couch and start to jump up and down because she's so cheery and happy.  I catch myself wishing that I could go to Equestria and stay there forever.  To leave this war and planet and live in happiness in Ponyville.  Sadly, I knew this could not happen, or so I thought.

As I was returning home from another day of scavenging and found nothing, until I stumbled into a small box.  I looked for something, anything on the sides or somewhere, but all I found was something written in a sharpie that read, "Take good care" on the side.  Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to take a quick peek inside the box.  What I saw would change my life forever.  It took a couple minutes for my brain to register what I was seeing and when I realized what it was,  I was shocked beyond belief.  Inside the little box was the pink earth pony, but as a foal.  I rubbed my eyes and looked around to see if anyone was watching.  I knew exactly what is was, but my mind wouldn't accept it and after a couple minutes my mind finally accepted it and I watched as it lay there fast asleep.  I then heard distant gunfire and, just my luck, it awoke with a start.  When she finally opened her eyes and looked a bit confused and scared.  She spun her head around to see if anyone was there.  Then, she saw me.  She stared at me for a bit then yawned.  I then noticed that she was shaking and thought she was cold, so I took off my sweater and wrapped her around in it and picked her up.  After much squirming, she finally got settled and I started walking home, but on the way home I again ran into the "Greeds Gang".  They saw what I had and said, "Give us your little friend and no one gets hurt."

I looked at the small and helpless pink foal and said, "You want it then come take it from me!"

But, no air raid would save me this time and I knew that I would have to fight for her.  I set the foal on a nearby curb and pulled out my cane, I always carried a cane for emergencies and this was one.  They had bats and pipes, but I was ready for there worst.

After a few minutes of fighting, I limped over to the little foal and it stared at me.  I knocked them out, but ended up with a broken nose, injured leg, bruises everywhere, and lots of cuts, all with blood coming out of them.  The foal looked at me in terror and, with some difficulty, I picked her up and started towards my house.  After a couple minutes, I heard the dreaded whistle.  I ran as fast and as hard as I could, dodging missiles and flying debris.  After I made it back to my house, I put the pink foal on the couch and heard another missile coming and threw myself over her to protect her from flying debris.

After I stopped hearing explosions, I got up and let the little pink foal look around.  It took a bit but she finally was certain of her surroundings.  She laid back down and closed her eyes, falling asleep.  At that time I realized that my eyelids were getting heavy and I too fell asleep.
