the light in the darkness
A young man stumbled down a dark ally in an unknown city, he sighs as he looks at the young girl in his arms "I'm so sorry" he mumbles "I know its hard, but just hold on for a little longer kid." He said, as he continued to limp out of the ally and into the light of the full moon. The young man has light spiky hair, almost white, blue eyes, and a dark jacket. He was coverd with bruises, several broken bones, cuts, and dried blood... and he'd be lying if he said he'd been through worse. As he made his way down the street he began to hear shouts and footsteps behind him, they were close. His eyes lit up in determination as he began to move faster "almost there" me mumbled "just a few more blocks, we can make it." He said, trying to lift both their spirits.
After running for a few minutes he tried knocking on the doors of some of the nearby houses. No matter what door he knocked on, everyone was either sleeping or too scared to open their doors. This gang threatened and bribed everyone in this part of town, he would never find help here. They were on their own. Just as he walked away from annother house he heard sierins, he prayed they would come this way. "I swear I'll saye you" he muttered "we're going to get out of this, I'll take you to your parents once we ditch these creeps." He sighed and kept moving, looking for somwhere, anywhere, that they could hide. If they didn't get away soon, those creeps
wld catch them. He smiled sadly, knowing what would happen if they were caught. "We've gotta keep moving" he thought.
As the young man reached the end of the street, five men in dark clothing came around the corner. He quickly backed up and turned around, only to find six more a few feet away. "Bastards!" He growled "what did she ever do to you?" One of the men grinned and stepped forward "that little bitches family owes us a lotta money" he said darkly "but since they're all deadbeats, she's payment!" He said sadistically "kill me instead" the young man demanded "she doesn't deserve this!" The leader chuckled "how would you know? You don't even know her" he said simply. previously unconcious child shifted in his arms, she was hurt, he needed to get to a hospital... and the police. As the girl was about to speak several police cruisers roared by by, startling the gangsters. The young man used this distraction as an advantage, he quickly put the child down and told her to run, when she refused, he pushed her into a nearby ally and bolted in the opposite direction, pretending he was still carrying her. The idiots bought it and followed, but he looked back just in time to see the girl look at him sadly and run into the shadows, hopefully unfollowed.
The young man ran as fast as he could, trying to give the girl time to escape. He knew he wasn't getting away, he was a good fighter, but there were almost a dozen of them... and they were armed. After running into a dead end, he turned to meet the thugs head on. As they surrounded him, they looked around for the little girl, the leader growled angrily "dammit!" He yelled "well, since our little friend has mysteriously vanished, we're taking out our frustration on you." The leader said angrily, as the thugs advanced. The young man quickly dodged a punch from a thug and grabbed his wrist, twisting it. As the thug fell back, two more ran forward, the young man quickly evades the charge and sweeps thier legs out from underneath them, sending them crashing into the nearby wall. As he checks his surroundings, annother attempts to put him in a headlock, the young man quickly pushes off the ground, and slams the thug against a wall. The thug lossens his grip in pain, and is quickly knocked unconcious by a kick to the head. The young man then feels a sharp pain, as the lead thug stabbes him in the back. He quickly turns around and punches the thug in the head, but as he did the thug lunged with the blade.
He collapsed to the ground, a knife sticking out of his chest, below his heart. He smiled sadly, as he coughed out blood "so this is how it ends" he thought "at least that girl is safe..."
The leader of the gang sruggled to his feet and lifted a bat above his head "I'm gonna enjoy this" he said happily, as he bought the bat down. But Before the bat hit its target, it bounced off of an invisible wall. "NO!!" A loud voice boomed around them, the gangsters all screamed and backed away from him. The young man looked down in confusion as an electrical aura surrounded him. Just as he was about to speak, he disappeared in a bright flash, leaving a small crater and some very frightened and confused gangsters.
He looked around in confusion, he couldn't see anything but light. Even when he closed his eyes the light was inescapable. He waited for what seemed like hours, unable to move, he couldn't feel anything either. "If this is the afterlife" he thought "then this sucks." He soon dismissed the thought, people don't disappear in a flash of lightning when they die... normally. As he was beginning to think he would be there forever, everything went dark, as if someone had shut off the lights, he began to feel dizzy. He soon closed his eyes, quickly losing conciousness in the darkness.

Sorry for the thin plot, I promise it'll get better. Just to tell you guys, there's gonna be a lot of fighting. If your looking for a cutsie story, that sticks to the plot and innocence of mlp, then stop reading. But otherwise, keep reading. Please R&R and the second part will be out soon.
