Chapter 1: The Deisre
The sun was shining over Ponyville, the clouds were sparse in the sky, and a gentle warm breeze was blowing in from the south. Fluttershy normally would revel in yet another beautiful day, but there were some things on her mind that kept her from being content. NightMare Night had been only a week ago, but it seemed like it had been longer to the pink maned filly. Fluttershy was feeling, for lack of a better word..flustered. As she went about her duties, Feeding and caring for the wildlife around the Everfree Forest, Fluttershy's mind just would not let go of what was bubbling up deep inside her.
After she was finished, she stepped into the shower, washed off all the grime of the morning, and dried off. She felt a bit better after a shower, and at least this time Rainbow Dash had thought to make sure it was a warm cloud from higher in the atmosphere. When Fluttershy was sure she was fully dried, she went downstairs, ate a little bit even though she did not have that much of an appetite, and finally settled down on the couch reflecting on the events of last week..
Last week had been NightMare Night, a filled holiday, filled with candy, games and scary stories. For Fluttershy however, the night was too much for her. All the crowds, all the noise, and worst of all, all of the scary stories and costumes. Normally a ghost costume or clown costume was ok, but some of the costumes were truly horrifying.
It was on this night that Fluttershy started hearing shrieks of terror on the wind from Ponyville town square. These were not like most other NightMare Night screams, these seemed to be utter bone chilling horror. She timidly went to the window of her cottage and peeked out, gasping, as she caught sight of Princess Luna's carriage and her frightening Night Guards flying over the center of Ponyville.
This was all Fluttershy needed to see, she immediately checked the locks on her doors and windows, shut all the curtains, and hid under her pink blanket on the couch shivering. Soon she heard the booming voice of Princess Luna, Frightening in volume and tone. She could not make out the words, but she didn't need to to know something very bad and scary was going on. This is how she was when some time later when she heard a hard knock at the door.
"Go Away" She said in a soft yet audible voice full of fright.
"Fluttershy, it's me, Twilight" came her dear friends voice through the door.
Fluttershy ran to the door, opening it with a bit of happiness. Her friend was here, she wouldn't have to sit here alone and frightened. Upon opening the door she saw Twilights smiling beautiful face, but then, when the door swung wider, she saw Princess Luna. Fluttershy let out a sound between a squeak and a scream of terror and tried to shut the door, only to have Twilight barge in and drag her out.
"Listen, I've come up with an idea to help Luna be less feared." States Twilight, then continued, "I thought of all the ponies in ponyville that could help us, and you came to mind right away. I need someone who can help Princess Luna stop speaking in The Royal Voice. Everyone is ponyville is cowering from her. They will not listen to her because they are too afraid of her. All she wanted was to come see the celebration, get to know someponies, and have some fun. Will you help Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy looked first at her friend in amazement, then at the Princess. Princess Luna was standing there, dark, foreboding, but also, in Fluttershy's mind, very beautiful.
"umm..I dunno Twilight, you know I’m not very good around new people.." Fluttershy started to say, until interrupted by the purple unicorn.
"You'll be ok Fluttershy, just try."
Princess Luna's first try was truly petrifying to Fluttershy, her voice boomed and seemed to suck all the air from the yellow ponies lungs with fright. Eventually, even though Fluttershy was near rigid with anxiety and panic, Luna reached a talkable volume, and Fluttershy, even in her terror, realized what a sweet and cute voice the princess had. That realization was just the beginning of her troubles though, as she started to get odd feelings inside herself. Yes there was fear, but also other things, things she could not place. Her body was rigid, but also quivering, with what felt like...pleasure. Then, all of a sudden Princess Luna picked her up like she was weightless, and embraced her. Not just once, but twice. This increased not only her anxiety, but also made the deep, secret feeling become more acute.
After thinking back on that night, Fluttershy muses to herself
"What is making me feel this way? Sure Princess Luna is very pretty, and her normal speaking voice is actually rather nice, but it has not been that long since we all fought her as NightMare Moon. She is really really scary. Plus what kind of pony just picks up another and hugs them without permission, I mean we are practically strangers. Why do I get this funny feeling mainly when she is yelling though? Why am I feeling this way, not only when she is normal, but also when she is forceful? Shouldn't I simply be terrified of her?"
Fluttershy has asked these questions over and over for the past week, and hasn't come to find any answers, it was driving her to major distraction. Just the other day she was so unfocused that she forgot to feed Angel till three hours after the usual time, and that was a very unhappy bunny by then. While she was in this confusing thought process, she heard a knock at the door. Distractedly she opens it to find Twilight Sparkle on the other side.
"Oh, hello Twilight" The yellow filly greets her friend. "Come on in"
Fluttershy goes back to the couch and lays back upon it with a deep sigh, her head upon her forehooves and her pink flowing hair across one eye, and a look of consternation upon her face.
"Hi Fluttershy." Says the brainy purple pony, then noticing the look on her face. "hey, What's wrong?" she continues with concern in her voice.
" I don't really know Twilight" she responds quietly. "I Honestly don't know what is wrong with me, I am being troubled by thoughts and feelings I can't understand."
Fluttershy learned a while ago, that Twilight is somepony she can confide in privately, and the best pony to ask if she doesn't understand something, because the purple pony can usually find the answer somewhere in her library, and also she was very respectful of not spreading rumors. Though this particular issue was more sensitive than most things, embarrassing to the pink maned pegasus than anything she had discussed with her dear friend to this point.
"Why don't you try talking to me about it?" Asks Twilight with compassion and gentleness.
"I guess I can try." she responds, sighing heavily, I think I really need some help with this.
"Just start at the beginning then, I'll listen and see if I can help." The intelligent unicorn replies.
"Well it all started last week during NightMare Night..."
Fluttershy recounts the events of NightMare Night and then finishes with.
" And since then, when I think about Princess Luna, I get this funny tingling inside. I've been dreaming about her, and when I awaken, I find my sheets wet with sweat and..." She continues in a barely audible whisper, "Other things.." She gets a very embarrassed look on her face and hides between her hooves.
Twilight sits there, mouth open in surprise, but quickly shuts it before Fluttershy can see her shock. Deciding she needs more information she asks gently.
"Fluttershy, umm, if you want to, and mind you I am not going to force you to tell me, but what exactly are the dreams about?"
Fluttershy's cheeks burn red with embarrassment and shame as she thinks about the dreams. The look on her face is one of hesitation. Should she tell Twilight what is in the dreams? How will her dear friend react? Will she think badly of her?
"Ok Twilight, I'll tell you, but please promise not another pony will hear of this."
"I Promise." States Twilight doing a Pinkie Pie swear.
Fluttershy nods and starts hesitantly to tell Twilight what has been plaguing her dreams.
"Well, you see.." She speaks hesitantly unsure of how it will be taken. "In the dreams Princess Luna is, well, forceful with me. She ties me up sometimes, sometimes spanks me, and other things as well."
"What kinds of other things?" Asks Twilight, feeling herself getting slightly turned on.
"Things like Yelling at me, and a few things that I have heard Rarity talking about in the spa sessions we have. Fluttershy starts to cry a little from the anxiety and the emotional explanation of her issues over the last week to her dear friend. Twilight goes over and hugs the distraught yellow pony, stroking her mane and telling her that she can help.
"Fluttershy dear, I may have a book at the library that you can borrow that will explain a few things about how you feel. I have to find it but I can have it here tomorrow morning if you want."
"Y..yes, please. Oh I do hope you can help me Twilight, these feelings are so new and disorienting to me."
"Then I will see you tomorrow . Try to get some sleep and I will be over first thing in the morning."
After finishing her evening chores and tucking the critters into bed, Fluttershy gets under her covers and falls into a restless sleep. The next morning Fluttershy awakens, her eyes have bags under them and her eyes are slightly bloodshot. She most definitely did not have a restful night. Her dreams kept being invaded by visions of Princess Luna, both in and out of her guise of NightMare Moon. She had tossed and turned all night to dreams of Luna whisking her away to the moon, of her doing unspeakable things to the gentle pink maned pony.
At that moment there is a knock on the cottage door awakening her. Fluttershy leaves her room and makes sure the door is slightly shut to hide the evidence of her bed sheets. She quickly gets to the door, takes a moment to put on a happier face and opens it.
"Hello Fluttershy" Twilight says when she opens the door. "I have the book you may need. I am sorry that I cannot stay, Rarity said she needs help with one of her dresses, which means I am up for a day of pins being stuck in my flank. Also I think this is a book you really should read alone, I do not want you to feel embarrassed reading about certain things in front of me. Anyway, I should be off, if You need to ask any questions later about what you have read, I will be back at the library a bit after sunset."
"Ok Twilight, and thank you for the book." She responds as she waves goodbye.
Closing the door, she then locks it tight. Going around the house, she makes sure all of the curtains are closed. Finally, sure that she is alone, she settles onto the couch and reads the title of the book.
"Hmm..Oh dear me... "Official Study of the Varying Fetishes of Equestria: An Illustrated Guide". She reads.
Upon opening the book, it starts off with a small foreword.

Continuing to read after the first paragraph, Fluttershy then sees:

Fluttershy lays down the book and thinks it over. It seems to her that this kind of answers half of her issue, the idea of relationship with Princess Luna, but what about the feeling she gets when Luna is forceful? She scans ahead and finds another relative paragraph that reads:
" On the subject of Sado masochism, there are many things to be said, but that will come later in the book. Needless to say that it is not all about pain. As she delves further into the tome, Fluttershy's eyes widen. Inside there are Chapters upon chapters, hundreds of pictures as well as deep descriptions of each act. Whoever made this book, it looked like they had models to pose the acts. Fluttershy reads a few, finding some pictures and descriptions that make her fillyhood tingle, and others that make her feel disgusted. She Tightly crosses her hind legs to stop herself from staining the couch while reading about such acts as "Rope Play", "Bit Play", "Water Sports", "Humiliation", "Saddling", "Public Exhibition", and the roles of Dom/mes¹ and submissives. Despite the tingling in her nethers, Fluttershy is highly embarrassed by all of this. She is embarrassed not only because reading this has led to some very dark desires, but because of how much she has to ask Twilight. She almost loses her nerve, but thinks back on the last week of anxious agony, and musters up what resolve she has, determined to visit the pretty purple unicorn.
After sundown, Fluttershy heads towards the library to see Twilight. There were many acts described in the book, acts that though the pictures aroused her, she did not fully understand what they were. Things such as "what is a saddle?" (after all, no one rides Anypony in Equestria), or "What is a riding Crop"? Hoping that Twilight can answer these things and many others, she reaches the door to the large tree library. Fluttershy listens for a moment and thinks she can hear another voice with Twilight. She enters anyway, deciding that she can simply stay out of the way till the purple pony is done with her visitor.
Upon entering the Library, Fluttershy does not look around immediately, instead she looks for a place to sit down and wait out of the way and out of notice by the two ponies. As Fluttershy raises her gaze to see who Twilight is speaking to, she gasps and her eyes widen. This has caught the attention of Twilight and her visitor, and it becomes apparent why Fluttershy reacted that way. For there, talking to Twilight Sparkle, was the princess of the night, Princess Luna.

AoF Ch. 2: Late Night Diiscussion
Chapter 2: Late Night Discussion
A few minutes passed and Fluttershy opened her eyes. Seeing two blurry shapes over her she wondered what had happened, then she realized that she must have fainted. As her vision cleared she saw Twilights face with worry on it, as well as Princess Luna. Fluttershy felt her face begin to burn with embarrassment, of all the people to be here and see her faint like this, it had to be the princess. Though she would have been embarrassed fainting in front of anypony, it was so much worse in front of the one she was having feelings for. Looking down at her, Twilight is the first to speak.
"Are you OK Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy nods her head meekly, though her eyes do not stray from Luna's. The next thing to happen surprised the shy pony even more. Luna, after blinking a few times spoke to her.
"Thou art the pony who helped us with our voice troubles art thou not?"
Fluttershy to her utter horror gave out a small giggle despite her normal nature, here was Luna, looking so concerned for her, and speaking in a normal voice, but the princess still had not corrected her speech to more modern talk yet. Sure it had been only a week, but still, it struck her as a bit humorous.
"Why doest thou laugh at us pretty pegasus?"
Fluttershy nervously explains what made her giggle. Though now she was not giggling, now she was scared. Would the princess punish her for laughing at her? Instead to Fluttershy's surprise, luna looked at her kindly and gave a giggle of her own.
"Oddly enough dear subject, when thou didst enter this domicile, twas Twilight Sparkle that was giving us elocution lessons on modern speech. We..I mean ..I have much to learn after a thousand years of exile. Twilight tells me that you and she have an appointment to keep with eachother, and I should be off, already I am late to raise the moon. Be safe and well sweet shy pony, next time maybe we can speak longer, for without your help, I would not even be speaking in a normal tone."
With that Princess Luna walked outside, spread her wide wings and took off for Canterlot. Fluttershy watched her go, her words ringing in her ears. Was she mistaken, or had the princess, the focus of her obsession the last week, just not only remember her, but also call her..pretty? Now Fluttershy knew she was not an ugly pony, but she never thought she was remarkably noticeable or pretty.
"Helooo..." Stated Twilight, clopping her hooves together to get Fluttershy's attention. "Equestria to Space Pony."
"Oh..Sorry Twilight, guess I spaced out there for a few moments." Said Fluttershy sheepishly, as she tore her eyes from the vanishing flank of the night princess.
"It's quite alright, though even I have to admit she is beautiful. Nothing compared to Celestia of course, but to each their own. Now I am assuming you are here because of what you have read so far?"
Fluttershy nods, and blushes a bit both at being caught staring, but also because of the questions she is about to ask Twilight. Taking a big breath, Fluttershy gathers up her courage and prepares to get started, hoping that whatever her friend can explain will be of help.
"So go ahead and ask what you want, I have soundproofed the library so nopony outside can hear."
"Thank you Twilight, the sunny filly says gratefully. "That really helps that it will be completely private. What I want to ask first, if it is OK with you, is have you read the book you gave me a lot?"
"Yes Fluttershy, I have," replies the purple and pink maned unicorn. "I can't go into details much, but I have had many reasons to need it since coming to Ponyville. Due to your situation, I am sure you can appreciate my being private on why."
"Oh my yes, I understand. That's why i like talking to you, I know you won't go blabbing to all the other ponies. I won't ask any names of course, but are there other ponies in Ponyville that have the same issues as I do?" Fluttershy asks blushing slightly.
"There are some. Hmm.. actually, let us start on your questions, I may have another idea."
"Ok. First, the book starts out mentioning fetishes, what are fetishes exactly?"
Oh that's really rather easy. A fetish is basically something you find easy. Every single pony in the world has a fetish. Some are very slight, such as a preference for red manes, or a preference between large and small stallion equipment. "Of course, you are a very dear friend to me Fluttershy, I will be there for you. Now you get home and I'll come by in a few days to tell you how it is going and if anyone agrees."
" Yes, it is rather late isn't it. Thank you Twilight, you are a good friend, and I have to admit, I am a bit shy about talking to these other ponies, but also a bit excited to learn more. It is starting to seem like the way I feel is more normal than I thought, though I am still a bit hesitant to talk about many things. Anyway, I'll see you in a few days"
They rise from the chairs and stretch out the kinks of having sat for 3 hours. Fluttershy goes over to Twilight and gives her a soft hug. Twilight walks Fluttershy to the door and loans her a lantern to see her way home with that attaches around her head on a strap. Warning her to be safe on the walk, they wave to each other and Twilight closes the door.

On the way home, Fluttershy thinks about the evening she spent with Twilight and the discussion they had about Fetishes and Lifestyles. A few things became rather clear to her.

With Twilight holding her gently and stroking her mane, the sunlight yellow pegasus calmed down slowly, gathered her courage and nodded to Twilight to let her know it was OK to let the other pony in now.
Twilight walked over to the door and opened it to reveal...nothing. Absolutely nothing was there. Fluttershy got up off the couch and walked towards the door feeling puzzled. Did the other pony go away? Was it nervous? As she got closer to the door, she was suddenly bowled over. Giving a sharp cry of surprise, Fluttershy cowered then suddenly took her hooves from her eyes to see an azure colored filly with a rainbow mane and tail standing before her just folding her wings. Rainbow Dash had arrived.
