The Aurora Boreallis

I heard low rumbling noises off into the distance. I opened my eyes.

Nothing.

But the other thing I saw off the corner of my eyes was something else.

It was like a white glowing sphere. It was off to my left side. I turned my head so I could get a better look at it. I felt like I was in limbo. I saw nothing but darkness around me. If I didn't look at the glowing white sphere ahead of me, I would've had a hard time focusing my eyes on anything else. I whipped my head around because I was starting to get paranoid. There was no way I could've been dead. This wasn't The Frozen North.

I finally look down at my body.

I was glowing green, as if I was trying to summon my energy, yet, I didn't feel like I was summoning anything. I was glowing by default.

".......Where in the tartarus.......am I........?" , I said to myself.

I could hear my voice reverberate through the darkness as if there was walls around me.

But nothing could turn my attention away from the glowing white sphere that was up ahead.

My curiosity got the best of me. I began to slowly walk towards the floating object. It was the only bright thing in this dark abyss, so common sense told me I should walk to it.

Just when I was inches from the sphere, I heard a voice behind me.

".........I know it wasn't your fault, Aurora......." .

I jumped and turned around. Nobody was there.

I yelled in fear, "......Who are you?!? And where am I?!?" .

The female voice continued speaking.

".....We didn't mean to make you become this way.......We are terribly sorry....." .

I turned around 360 degrees, yet I didn't see anypony. All I could hear was the reverberating female voice.

Then I heard faint noises of hooves clanking on the ground behind me.

I quickly turned away from the light and looked to see who it was.

Out of the darkness, a pony walked into view that the faint light from the glowing sphere behind me provided. She had a dark blue, almost midnight blue, coat, along with what seemed to be glass hoof shoes.

I still had no idea who she was........until her starry mane flowed from behind her.

I stumbled back in shock, "Luna!" .

She stopped and reached a hoof out to me as I fell back, "Please, do not fear us. We-......we should have never feared you to begin with Aurora......" .

I took a good look at her face. She didn't look threatening. She looked quite nice, of course, that is expected from a Princess like her.........but what she doing here.....

"Where am I......?" , I asked again.

She responded, "You are in unconstructed dream space. I built this for you because it was the only way I was be able to reach you......" .

She created a empty dream space.......in my head?

Then that means...........in reality, I'm still sleeping.

I narrowed my eyes at her. She flinched a little.

I began to grow annoyed just by that reaction, "What is your prob-...." .

I took a long look into her eyes. I saw the reflection of my face.

I still had those eyes.

Luna carefully walked towards me, "Please Aurora, I mean no harm to you. I wish to help you....." .

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that? Who sent you?!?" .

She stumbled back again as my voice reverberated through the abyss.

She spoke again, "Nopony has sent me, I promise. I came by myself. What I meant was.......I can help you turn your life back." .

I looked at her as if she was stupid. I chuckled.

"Turn my life back? Do you realize the crimes I have commited against ponykind? Do you realize the innocent lives I had just killed?!!!!??? There is no turning back from that! What was done is now done!!! And that will remain that way until eternities end!!! I am a murderer!!!! A monster!!!! Just look at me!!!!!" .

Luna shrunk her head back and slowly backed away as she took notice of my fuming anger.

".......I have felt your pain before Aurora........I was once........corrupted as well....." .

I stomped my hoof. To my surprise, the entire ground shook under me for a moment, like a thunderous roar had just burst through the underside. Luna widened her eyes in fear as I yelled in anger.

"YOU FOAL!!!! THAT DOESN'T EVEN COMPARE!!!!! YOU MAY HAVE TRIED TO SHROUD THE ENTIRE PLANET INTO DARKNESS, BUT YOU'VE KILLED NOPONY!!!! YOU HAD NO PURPOSE TO!!!!! YOU WEREN'T FORCED TO!!!!! I HAD TO KILL PONIES!!!! IT IS MY JOB!!!! I BRING HELL TO ALMOST EVERY AREA I CAN THINK OF!!! WHETHER IT'S THE UNFORGIVING HEAT OF THE SAHARA, OR THE GURGLING MAW OF THE PACIFIC!!!!! I HAVE NO CHOICE!!!! I TRIED TO WARN THEM, GIVE THEM EVERY SIGN I COULD ALLOW MY ATMOSPHERE TO DO!!!! BUT WHAT DO THEY DO???!?!? THEY JUST STAY THERE AND THINK THEY CAN RIDE OUT THE WEATHER!!!!! SO YOU KNOW WHAT I DO???!! I LET IT HAPPEN ANYWAY!!!! THEY LOSE THEIR LIVES OVER STUPID DECISIONS, AND I AM SEEN AS THE BAD GUY FOR THAT!!!???!!!?!! INDESPICABLE!!!!!" .

I fell to my knees. Tears began streaming down face as I choked up.

".....and now.....I-...I have made one of the biggest mistakes of my life.......I-.....I'm......I'm a monster......." .

Luna just sat there. I could see tears streaming from her eyes as well. She bit her lip as she her head away from me.

"........Nopony will ever forgive me for w-what I've done Luna..........nopony......." .

I dropped my head in defeat as I continued sobbing.

I then heard the approaching sound of hooves. I felt a hoof on my shoulder.

"......Aurora.......I know.......it's ok..........but you must listen..........I can help you change it back........" .

My patience finally snapped, along with my sanity.

I slowly rose my head up to her and hissed. Luna's eyes widened as she jumped back in shock.

Huge black tentacles emerged from my back and shot towards her. Luna fell on her back and gasped. One of my tentacles wrapped around her body, the other one wrapped itself around her neck. I tightened my grip around her neck and lifted her 4 feet into the air. I saw her body squirm in my grip as she tried to break free, however, she was afraid to even summon her power. I could see the look of fear in her eyes.

Looks like her powers were driven by emotions as well.

Luna's mouth was wide open as she gasped for air, but I was smart this time. I bounded her arms against her sides with the other tentacle I had around her body so she couldn't pull it off. I could hear her gags as I continued choking her to death.

But I didn't want to kill her yet.

I lowered her down a couple feet so she could face me at eye level. She looked at me as if I was death itself.

I cocked my head to the side 35 degrees while staring at her maniacally.

"Listen, There IS no way you can turn things back. I've gone to far down this road to turn back and you know it. I don't care what way you have of re-doing this whole incident back. The world knows who I am, and who I have been for eons. And now this current generation has seen me in action. They truly know what I have become to them. Do you think that a simple little time spell could make everything ok?" .

I squeezed my tentacle tighter around her neck. She gagged and choked as she desperately gasped for air. I only smiled at her.

"You think you knew evil? You think you knew deception as Nightmare Moon? You maybe a monster to every other pony, but to me, you..........are..........nothing." .

My anger and fury drove me to squeeze the tentacles around her body and neck tighter and harder. She gagged while I watched her with entertainment.

Within minutes, she stopped gagging.

Her head went limp.

I felt no pulse within her body.

Then, my mind clicked again. I shook my head to calm myself down. I felt like I had fell asleep within my dream for a few minutes. All I remembered was shouting, and then crying, and then............everything went black.

I took a look at what I was holding. My heart stopped.

"...........oh no..................NOOO!!!!!!!"

I released my tentacles and Luna's body fell to the ground with a resounding thud. My mind melted.

"NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! PLEASE!!!!! DON'T TELL ME I-..............I did.........." .

I knelt down and checked her pulse.

Nothing.

I looked at her face. Her eyes were closed, but her mouth was still open. Her starry mane and tail, had stopped flowing.

The sparkles within them.........were gone.

I felt myself choke up again as I could not believe what I just did.

"Luna.....? Wake up..........wake up.......come on this isn't funny..............Luna.......?" .

She didn't move.

I lost it.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" .

I screamed so loud, the darkness around us began to form white cracks within them.

I killed her. She was only trying to help me.......why couldn't I see it.......?

Why........?

I held her body in my arms as the cracks in the black walls around us finally shattered. The white glowing sphere that was behind us sucked itself in. The entire ground began to rumble as shards of black walls were sucked into the sphere.

I turned and looked at Luna's body. She was starting to dissolve into a million pieces, flowing into the white hole sphere behind us. I rested my head on her face and cried as her body began to disappear from me.

Through the loud noises of everything being sucked in the sphere, I heard my name echo through the broken abyss.

"....Aurora...." .

I lifted my head and looked around furiously. The wind was blowing hard in front of me, trying to pull me in. I held my ground and continued holding Luna's dissolving body.

".....Aurora...."  , the voice reverberated again.

I assumed it was Luna's voice.

I shouted, "Where Are You!!!?!?!?" .

".......Aurora....." .

I shouted again, "WHERE ARE YOU??!?!!?!" .

The wind was blowing against me at a speed I couldn't even explain. The pieces of shattered walls were being thrown and whipped around us as it found its way into the white sphere.

I looked back down at Luna.

She was gone...........I was holding nothing.

I cried out into the loud abyss as a black shard flew towards me and sliced my face wide open.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" , I screamed as I shot up from Trixie's bed.

I sat up. was in Trixie's room. But she wasn't beside me.

I was breathing heavily, my body was sweating all over. My mane was matted all over my face.

".......I.............killed..........I......I...." .

I began to cry to myself loudly in sorrow. Princess Luna had the special ability to literally walk into each other's dreams. So whatever happened to her in a dream, the same reflected in reality.

I was in reality..............but she was not anymore. She was gone.

Trixie stumbled through the hall as she ran upstairs and into her room where I was.

She ran up to her bed and hugged me, "Aurora!!!! What's wrong??!!? What happened??!?!!? Are you ok?!?!? Shhhhh!!! Shhhhh!!!! Tell me what happened Aurora." .

I was sobbing too hard to form any proper sentences.

I choked up a few words to her as I looked at her. Trixie's eyes widened.

"...I....I-I killed......L-Luna..........I killed......h-her......." .

I couldn't say anything else as I broke down in tears. She pulled me into a hug once more as I cried into her shoulder.

She rubbed my back and whispered to me.

"shhhhh..........shhh....shhh.....it's ok Aurora........it was only a dream......" .

It may have been a dream.........but I knew that Luna was gone..........in this world.............forever.
