When I Loved You
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterShe never thought that she'd feel this way about a pony she'd spent her young marehood with. Never thought she'd finally stop working so hard and want to have fun for a change.
But she knew that she missed that face, always smiling. Laughing. And when the face was gloomy, they'd cheer her right up. It was like she had never had another personality, insane to the very core. Pinkamena Diane Pie's core was very deep indeed.
Applejack stood in the rain, feeling it pour down over her face, fighting back tears. But she couldn't stop them from leaking out the corners of her eyes and sliding slowly off her face, then falling quickly to the wet, soft earth. The mare gritted her teeth. She stamped her hoof, frustrated that she was crying so easily.
"Damn." Applejack murmured. "Fucking stupid mare. Yeah, she cared about all of us. Like any of us did. We were young. Easily trusting, unless warned." She breathed in and out. "Well. Well. Well."
Applejack started to pace, back and forth across the dirt. She could feel her heart straining to escape her chest, beating a tattoo into her flesh.
"Yeah, right."
She continued to stamp her feet on the ground, testing how much weight it could hold. Now she felt anger rising up inside her.
"We were young. Supposedly we loved one another. But it turned out that we all didn't. So we parted ways, I staying here. Rainbow Shit and Scaredyshy stayed together. The Drama Queen and "fashion master" Rarity went to Canterlot to live the "pampered life". Like she deserved it."
Applejack stuck her nose up in the air, snorting.
"Then the princess and proud alicorn Twilight. She went to go spend time with her precious fellow princesses." The mare sneered. "And Pinkamena. I could have sworn she said something about bouncy houses and circus acts. Well, who knows. Pinkabitch is probably off whining and complaining. Heh, serves that bitch right."
She stepped inside slowly, smirking to herself. But a nagging question tugged at her mind, even though she tried to banish it.
Was dissing her once friends really worth it?
