Chapters Chapter 1: Reciving the Note
"Did it come!? Did it come?! Pleeeessase tell me it did!!" Rainbow Dash flew in the library and said as she bolted with joy in to the library.
"If it isn't here, I'm. Gonna. Lose. It! Do you have ANY idea how long I've been waiting for this new book?! Oh sweet Celestia.. I'm sounding more and more like an egghead!! Anyways.. Is it here?!"
Twilight sighed then turned to her friend and gave a slight chuckle. "Twi! This is a SERIOUS matter! I must read the book, I MUST!!"
Rainbow was practically begging now so Twilight didn't want to have her waiting any longer. "Don't get you mane in a bundle, it came yesterday." She said walking over to a book shelf and levitated a blue book out of the shelf.
The title was in black carving that read 'Sonics Adventure Part 4'. "I still have no idea why you read stuff like this, there are better books in the library besides a one about a hedgehog." Twilight said while levitating the book to Rainbow as she hugged on to it.
"Yeah, but seriously come on Twi, this dude thinks he's the fastest! This calls for competition, I mean everypony knows I'm the fastest in ALL of Ponyville, maybe even in all of Equestria!" Rainbow said opening the book and taking a seat on a beanbag.
"Well maybe he is just the fastest in his world or whatever it is he lives in." Rainbow was too busy to look up from her book "Well he thought wrong!" She said with a laugh.
Twilight rolled her eyes and thought of a good idea to mess with Rainbow. She smirked "I think I know somepony who will actually have a chance to beat this hed-" Rainbow cut in "His name is Sonic, not the hedgehog!"
Twilight made a face, "Sorry, I know who can beat Sonic." Rainbow still refused to look up from her book. "Look Twi, I know your gonna say me," Rainbow looked up from her book, "Cuz' obviously I can-" Twilight cut in. "Applejack, duh! Her mighty speed can sure beat Sonic in any round!"
Rainbow placed her book down to reveal her shocked look on her face. "What?! Applejack cant even beat ME!" Twilight smirked "You both tied in The Running of the Leaves race, so how is there to tell?"
Rainbow Dash threw her hooves in the air and got up from he, "Wha- What!! Not on round two!" Twilight laughed. "That's... not cool Twi.." Rainbow Dash said as she went to find her thrown book.
Twilight slowly stopped laughing "What if you met this... Sonic colt?" Rainbow was in disbelief on how little Twilight knew of Sonic.
"He's a hedgehog, and it would be so AWESOME! First, we could race each other! Then, talk about our racing techniques! Then totally have an famous 'Awesomeness Contest' with Jade and Cami!Oh! Aft-" Twilight interrupted Rainbow Dash's speech.
"Whoa there! Sounds like you got your hooves full when you meet him!"
Twilight said, "Well, Duh! What if you met... Star Swirled The Bearded?" Twilight made a loud gasp, "N-nevermind..."
It was too late to stop Twilight as she rapidly began to talk about the events that would happen if the two met. "Twilight! Chill out!" Twilight stopped from her ranting and took a deep breath.
"You're right I mean come on what are the chances of THAT happening? Probably 1 out of 1 millionth!" Twilight said a bit disappointed.
"What about meeting Sonic?" Rainbow Dash said relaxing back at her chair with her book to her side. "Well considering he's fake.... umm nothing."
Rainbow perked up, "What do you mean he's fake?! If he's fake then consider us humans!" Twilight let out a sigh, and smiled at her rainbow friend.
"Humans? Those aren't even scientifically possible. Don't believe in Lyra's nonsense!" Rainbow sighed, "See what I'm saying?!" Twilight made a confused face, "What do you mean?" Rainbow let out an annoyed moan. "Whatever! I gotta dash see ya later Twi!" Rainbow Dash commented as she flew out of the library along with her book.
"Rainbow Dash and her crazy fandom..."
Twilight went to organize a book shelf that was not in order. She was stopped in the middle of organizing by a knock at the door.
"Spike's back already? He's not suppose to be back till next sunrise." She went to the door and opened it.
There she saw a derp eyed pegasus, "Evening Ditzy Doo, what brings you around?"
Ditzy pulled out a scroll tied with two strings, one orange and one blue. "Well, duh I am the mail mare! Why else would I be here to check out a book?" Ditzy said along with a laugh.
Twilight levitated the scroll note, "Well just checking! Have a nice evening Mrs.Doo!" Twilight said as she closed the door but stopped in her mid tracks and called out to the mare but it was to late she was already flying away safely.
"Darn.." She closed the door behind her and stared at the scroll. "Wonder who sent it.." Twilight said as she stood at her podium and set it down and opened it as she walked, then sat at the podium.
"Is it from Celestia?... No I would've had a different strings tied around it." Twilight opened it up and read aloud what was written.
"From one side to another, both will combine dimensions to be one and only one." Twilight had a questioned look on her face as she levitated the scroll note.
"What does this mean? Who is it from? Is it a prank?" She pondered for a moment.
Yet in her mid thoughts she was interrupted by papers beginning to fly around the library, while Twilight tried her best to catch them. "My reports!" She yelled as she tried to use her magic to stop all papers, but was stopped by noticing a white bright light orb in the middle of her library.
Twilight hid behind her podium, then the light was gone, everything was back to normal. Twilight let out a sigh of relief and got out from her hiding spot. "More cleanin-" she was cut off by a voice.
"Ow!" Said a voice behind her, Twilight froze in her tracks with a slight gulp. "Get off of me Tails!" Said another voice. Twilight regretted it, but she turned around to see 5 ponies she has never seen before in Ponyville...
Only in a book that somepony knows all about..
~Earlier that day~
"In conclusion, I believe it would be possible to combine dimensions with others." Tails said finishing his hour long speech to Sonic, Jade, Cami and Shadow. All four of them were fast asleep or just pretending they were listening. "GUYS!" Tails screamed loud enough to wake them all, "I wanna pass the 5th grade, not make anyone sleep during a presentation." Jade got up from her seat to stretch, while Sonic spoke, "Dude, you're not only going to pass the 5th grade you're going to ace it! So chill out." Tails sighed, "Thanks Sonic, I guess I'm just nervous about the whole presentation thing." Cami got up from her seat, "What's wrong with it?" She said with a confused look, as well as everybody else.
"Maybe my theory combining dimensions is just ridiculous..." Tails said sadly.
"No, damn right stupid is what it is..." Shadow said under his breath, trying not to let anyone hear. Jade jabbed him in the ribs and glared at him then smiled at Tails. "Don't get down on yourself Tails maybe you need... umm..."
Cami spoke in, "An invention! Some thing to have proof that it's possible." Tails lit up, "Oh boy! An invention! Fixing, putting together! Why didn't I think of that sooner?!" He said already gathering supplies for the invention and putting it together. "Are you sure you wanna do that? It might take a while.." Jade said a bit worried, sometimes he can get overboard with inventions. "Nonsense! Come on Jade, you already KNOW me! This is so exciting!!"
The 4 shared glances then back at the young fox getting to work. "Well uh, good luck with that Tails!" Cami said first heading for the door with Jade following behind. "Yeah so bye Tails!" Jade said, they all said their good-byes and walked out.
"Cami! Why did you do that?! Now he is going to go crazy over that!" Jade said to her, "I didn't know he would take it seriously! Gah now I feel bad!" She said in her defense.
"Nice going human." Shadow muttered, Cami sighed "I deserved that.. But think of it if he does make it, hmmmm.... I call tester!" Sonic groaned, "I call eating..." Jade and Cami laughed while Shadow just rolled his eyes. "Seriously come on guys lets all go run and get some Chili Dogs it will be on me!" Sonic said rubbing his stomach, "Uh, hello human right here!" Cami said annoyed. "Oh.. Right.. Hmmm.. If only you were Rainbow Dash.." Sonic said as Jade laughed at his remark.
"What?!" Sonic said aloud, "Again with the PONIES Sonic, what have I told you?!" Jade scolded at Sonic. "What's wrong with ponies?" Sonic asked, "They're just some fucking stupid ponies.." Shadow said rudely. "Watch your mouth! I will have you know I happen to like it too!" Cami said to Shadow in the same tone. "See?! Even Cami likes it!" Sonic said. "OooOOooh, you have the human on your side! So what?" Shadow said sarcastically.
"How come you don't like it Jade?" Cami asked her.
Jade sighed "There is nobody cool on the show." she said bored.
"There's Rainbow Dash."
"I'M IN!" Jade announced loudly with her fist in the air. "Yeah!" Sonic said putting his arm around her. She gave him a 'Get Your Freaking Hand Off Me' look, and he obeyed without question. "Why do I even hang out with you guys?" Shadow said under his breath. "Well duh that's a no brainer," Sonic began to say but was interrupted by the sound of yelling coming from behind them.
The 4 turned around to find Tails flying towards them yelling, "WAIT UP!!". Once he reached them he breathlessly began to speak, "I... Finished... Invent... tion.." Tails finished as confusion struck everyone's face. "But, you just started like 10 minutes ago." Sonic said looking at his wrist as if a watch were on it. Tails caught his breath of a moment then spoke , "Come on! You talk like you're talking to a ten! I told you I'm eleven! Anyways, its all done!" Tails said sounding very proud of himself.
"No mean to burst you bubble or anything like that.. but why are you telling us?" Jade said as she made a face. "Duh! What else for?...." Everybody stayed silent, they knew what he was going to say they jut didn't want to volunteer, because it was such a small amount of time he worked on it there is no way he could be done with it. "Testers!! Who wants to test it?!" Tails said with enthusiasm. Everybody stayed silent and made coughing noises.
Tails could obviously see that none wanted to so he chose at random, "Oh thanks for volunteering Jade!" Tails said as he grabbed her arm and began to lead her back to the lab. "No no no! Get the hell off of me! Stop it!" Jade yelled as she tried to pull away. "Hold up! Tails! We ALL will ok?" Sonic said to Tails and with that he let go, "YAY! To the lab!"

Tails set up the portal and removed the thick blue sheet off of it. The 4 stood in amazement as it actually looked done and ready to go. "So... where will this portal lead us to?" Sonic asked Tails. "Well I need to send something first.." Tails said as he grabbed some paper and a pen then neatly wrote a note, Sonic couldn't see that well but when Tails was done with the note he wrapped it in Blue and Orange string. "Where to guys?" Tails asked the gang. "Lets all be humans!" Cami suggested as she received many glares at her, "What the hell makes you think we want to be some gay ass humans?!" Shadow sternly announced. "It was a thought Shadow, thanks for taking my idea and totally diss on it though." Cami said in the same tone.
"Anyways... I was kinda hoping that we... cross dimensions..." Tails said. "You know what that means right?" Sonic said in a disapproving tone. "You're not my father Sonic and well I will just choose at random. Here we go..." Tails said as he turned on the portal and a purple swirl came in sight. 'Please work...' Tails thought to himself as he tossed in the note. "Well when the note gets to its destination we follow."
Tails said as he stood back, "What happens now?" Cami asked. "Here take this," The young fox said handing her a watch. "It's a video watch you can contact us at any given time while your here. Come over here for a second." Tails moved her to the control station and pointed to a blue button "Press this button when the portal turns green." He said as the wind in the lab began to grow rapidly.
The portal color became purple to yellow, pink then green the final color the wind was circling everywhere as everybody was clinging on to something. "NOW!" Tails yelled as Sonic was half way through the green mixture. Cami yelled "BE SAFE!" and with that she pressed the button, a bright white light shone across the lab. The white light died down with only Cami left in the empty lab.
"Where did they end up?" She asked herself. She checked the location device... She then saw where they were. "Oh my... God.." In bright red letters the screen said:
Ponyville, Equestria
Chapter 3: Nopony must know you're here!
Twilight silently stared at the 4 ponies from her hiding spot. She shuddered and slowly got more and more out from her hiding spot to get a better view of the ponies.
One pony was a black unicorn colt. He had a black and red mane and tail. Twilight couldn't help but notice that his cutie mark looked like an explosion.
'Is he wearing make-up above his eyes?' Twilight thought in her mind. She cracked a smile at the sight of a colt wearing make-up. His eyes were blood red which sent tingle down her spine.
The next pony she saw was another colt, but this time he was a land pony. He was all blue with a darker blue mane of the same shade. His eyes were emerald green and his cutie mark was a golden ring.
"Where are we you guys?" Said a dark purple mare with a black and purple mane that looked like Vinyl Scratch's. 'Oh she must be Jade!'
"Oh yeah, cause' we know where we are." Sarcastically spoke another rather young looking pegasus colt, he was orange with a darker orange and white mane with his cutie mark was a wrench and bolts.
"Well, you're the smart one around here Tails." Jade responded back.
Twilight made a face at her remark. Clearly Twilight was the smarter one here.
"WHY THE HELL DO YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE THAT?!" Yelled the mare finally noticing the changes that happened. "What? What do you mea-" Shadow took a look down at what now were his hooves. "Well.. Fuck.." He gave a pissed look.
Tails examined himself, "Do I have a tattoo? On... my butt?" He sat on his haunches and made a confused look. "What an awkward thing for me to do."
"I don't know dude, it looks pretty good on you. On all of you I should say." Jade said pointing to all of their flanks.
Shadow looked down to see an atomic explosion on his black fur. "An explosion tattoo...? This.. This is probably the only thing satisfying to me in this new world."
Sonic gave a satisfied chuckle, "Golden Rings huh? Well good to me!"
"Now as your heroic leader, I say we figure out where we are!" Said Sonic with a rather heroic tone. "Well no shit Sherlock." Said Shadow annoyed, Twilight assumed that he didn't really like Sonic.
"We need to look around first," The mare spoke "You and you go look around upstairs you and I will search around down here." Twilight could imagine her pointing to the group, and with that said the team split up, hoof steps could be heard going up the stairs and roaming the library.
Twilight peeped her head out to see if they were coming towards her direction. Instead she was face to face with the blue colt. "Uh.. Hi?" Twilight sheepishly said as she waved her hoof.
Sonic screamed like a little girl and ran away as if he seen a ghost. "No wait! I-I'm sorry mister!" Twilight said standing up fully coming out of her hiding spot.
"SONIC?! Are you ok?!" Screamed Tails coming down stairs along with the black unicorn colt. "What did you see?" The mare yelled.
'What do you do now Twilight!' Twilight thought in her mind as she cringed in fear. Wondering of their reaction to her.
"I-I s-saw T-Twilight!" yelled Sonic still pale and scared.
Twilight went back to her podium and hid there, his reaction had scared the living day lights out of her. "Oh Celestia I feel like Fluttershy.." Twilight muttered under her breath. Then suddenly realized he said her name. 'How does he know me? Stalker much..'
"What the hell are you talking about? I'm no fan of that stupid book series and you know that." Said Shadow obviously not believing. "Wait a minute! Twilight? Twilight Sparkle!" Jade went to her spot and held a hoof out to help her up. Twilight looked at it for a second then reached for it as she pulled her up.
All the ponies stared at her with confusion, she got a better view of the gang and looked back at Jade who still held onto her hoof. "I would like you all to meet Twilight Sparkle!" Said the mare in a very cheery voice like Pinkie Pie.
Twilight gave her a look of disbelief "You know me too?" Twilight spoke. Jade set Twilight's hoof down, "Well duh of course I do."
"Same to you." Twilight said smiling to the 4. "What! I'm known here?!" Said Jade a look, "I mean.. er, we? WE are known here?!" Said the mare plastering a bad poker face.
She pointed to the stallion in front of her "Why yes, you are Sonic," Twilight pointed next to her "You're Jade," Twilight pointed to the two in the back, "You're Tails and from the looks of it... Shadow?"
All of them besides Shadow had shocked faces. Sonic, Tails and Jade came jumping around her asking all kinds of questions on how famous they were here and what it's like being a pony.
"I never knew I had fans like this!" Twilight said shockingly. "Do WE have any fans here?" Asked Sonic as he made a smile. "Well.. One pony I know absolutely loves you guys!" The three moved their heads closer to Twilight, "Who is the lucky person?" They said in unison eager to know.
Twilight made a face, "I believe you're wrong, the term is pony not person I don't believe in.. well humans." The 3 made a baffled face, "Are you kidding? They are real, and just about everywhere! Just.. not.. here..? I guess." Jade said trying to convince the unicorn.
"Ha ha, yeah nice try, but it will take A LOT more than just somepony just saying they're real." Twilight said flatly and very sarcastically.
"If you wanna see one so bad I know one human we can send here to never return to our home." Shadow said sitting on a stair on the stair case. Jade turned around and gave him a stern look, "What?" Shadow said closing to giving himself a chuckle.
Tails coughed a couple of times and began his sentence, "What Shadow means to say is we are very close fr-"
"Enimies!" Shadow cut in.
Sonic tried to help Tails finish his sentence "Well no, we are friends with a hu-"
"Stupid human girl.." Shadow once again cut in, this time Jade tried to help finish the sentence.
"Yeah, no... I am best friends with a girl named C-"
"The worst thing ever." Shadow said once more as he cut in.
"Goddammit! That is enough out of you Shadow! We cant even finish our sentence. You need to lighten up!" Jade said sternly, "Oh yeah? This is the happiest I get right here so, deal with it." Shadow said as he crossed his hooves.
Jade decided to make the best she could out of this moment, "Awww you look so cute and adorable when you get mad as a pony!" Jade said in a tone as if she were talking to a small child.
"Well I'm about to get real fuckin' adorable." He muttered. "Don't worry you already are!" Sonic tagged along in the same voice. "Oh ha ha. If I had fingers I'd show you one." He said shaking his hoof in the air.
"Geez somepony's on their period, would you like some tampons?" Jade said as she turned back around finishing the insult.
Shadow sighed, and gave a 'Really?' face to her as he mumbled "Oh god, she actually said 'somepony'.."
Tails made a 'Oh-god-I'm-about-to-puke-face' along with, "Could you please not talk about.... That." Twilight decided to change the subject.
"Is Shadow always this cranky?" Twilight asked tilting her head to the side a bit. "Trust me it's normal, we just like to tease him." Jade whispered to her hoping Shadow didn't hear. "Well I know somepony who can help you out and make you more friendly!" Twilight said walking towards Shadow.
"I don't need any help thank you very much.. I'm just fine the way I am." Shadow said crossing his hooves once more. "Oh.. Well ok then!" There was a moment of silence.... The silence was broken by a knock at the door.
"Twilight are ya' home?" A thick southern accent was heard behind the door. "Who's that?" Tails asked walking towards the door, Twilight quickly blocked his path.
"Twilight? Ah' needa talk with you." Said the accent again. "Hide!" Twilight whispered to the 4 as she answered "I'm coming!" The 4 jumped and hid behind a bookshelf as Twilight opened the door to see none other than Applejack.
Chapter 4: Applejack's Invite
Twilight was shocked to see her country friend at her door step. "Well, um hey Applejack!" Twilight said a bit too suspiciously.
"Ya'll alright Twilight?" Applejack said clearly noticing her friends' hint of suspicion in her tone.
Twilight signed as if in sorrow, "Well I'm just a bit worried about Spike." Technically it wasn't a lie, she really has been worried about his return from Canterlot.
Applejack placed a hoof on Twilight's shoulder, and gave her a warm smile, "You have nothing to worry about sugercube, everything is goin' to be just fine."
Twilight returned the smile, "Thanks, Applejack, I really needed that. Now what brings you here." Now it was Applejack's turn to give the look of suspicion.
Twilight gave a look of confusion, "Uh would you like to talk about it inside?" Twilight said moving aside, allowing Applejack to step inside. Applejack gave a nod and walked in and sat on the wooden floor.
Twilight shut the door and walked over to Applejack. "Now what is it you would like to share me?" Twilight questioned as she sat in front of Applejack.
"Well.." Applejack inhaled and began, "It's Rainbow's birthday soon and she's havin' one of those real big parties that Pinkie is planin' and I promised Dash an amazin' birthday present, so will you help me?" Applejack finished. Twilight had processed it all within seconds.
"Well I have a main idea, have you thought about having The Wonderbolts perform at her party? Or perhaps tickets to go see their next show?" Twilight suggested. Applejack nodded.
"Ah' have! But to get them to perform FOR her is around 100,000 bits and the show tickets cost around 50,000 bits." Applejack gave a sigh of disappointment, Twilight shared the same look.
"Well if it helps any, I am welcome to give you my savings!" Twilight gave her a warm smile, but only to be met with Applejacks look of disbelief and shock, "Now, Twilight I'm not askin' for yo-" Twilight interrupted her, "Nonsense Applejack, It's my pleasure and I wouldn't be any help if I didn't.
Applejack looked to Twilight, who gave an honest sincere look, Applejack sighed, "Well.. Alright sugarcube, if you insist." Twilight gave a satisfied smile.
"Sorry, I have to cut this chat short, but it was nice to see you Applejack!" Twilight said as she looked over to the bookshelf, where her new strange friends hid.
"But as you can tell I have to prepare for Spikes return and clean up." Applejack nodded understandingly and got up to leave.
"Thanks again Twilight for all your help!" She said one last time before stepping out of the Library leaving Twilight.
As soon as Applejack left Twilight ran to the bookshelf. "You guys comfy?" Twilight asked while looking at the scene before her. Sonic was squished in between Jade and Shadow while Tails was sitting down next to Shadow.
"Not...really..."Sonic said between grunts trying to push the two away from him. They each exited one by one.
"Tails you bastard you weren't squished to death!" Jade complained while sitting on the wooden floor.
"Well I have news!" Twilight said cheerily. "It's going to be Rainbow Dash's birthday!"
"So we heard." Jade said smiling with her head in her hooves.
"O, that I were a glove upon that hand That I might touch that cheek!" Sonic said heroically while sitting next to Jade with a smirk upon his face.
Jade glared at him and scooted a few inches away from him. Sonic could've sworn he heard Shadow whisper "Friendzone!" to him but he ignored his comment.
"So when will we be attending this party and show our awesomeness?" Sonic said.
"No! I mean- of course you guys are going to go... Just.. hide your identity. From everypony." All but Shadow, cause frankly he ran out of fucks to give, gave baffled faces.
"How do we do that? Wouldn't we need like, oh I don't know, new names and a background story?" Tails questioned Twilight perked up, "Right! How could I have forgotten? Anypony know how to begin this? She asked to the baffled 3.
"Well your name has to do something with your Cutie Mark so, with my Cutie Mark being a Six Pointed Star with the same surrounding it, my name is Twilight Sparkle." Twilight said flatly pointing to their Cutie Marks.
They each looked at their flanks, "So? A Lightning Bolt? Uh, Lightning Blitz I guess." Jade said with a somewhat pleased look.
"I guess with my Cutie Mark being rings, uh.. Speedy Rings?" He said a bit confused as well as receiving the same looks from his friends.
"Hey I tried!" Hey yelled in defense.
Tails was next, "Well I have a wrench and screws, so? Clink?" Tails said equally confused as the others.
"Shadow? What's your Cutie Mark?" Sonic asked. "Well obviously its an explosion, so...Dynamite Boom?" Jade said, examining his Cutie Mark.
"Could you not stare? Not unless.. You like what you see." He asked smirking, Jade blushed heavily and backed up from the situation she got into.
"Screw you Shadow, and no, no I don't Thank you very much." Twilight and Tails couldn't help but give a slight laugh. While Sonic gave a little glare at Shadow.
"Now.. that we got our names covered.." Sonic said through gritted teeth. Twilight looked at his expression to Shadow, Twilight gave a smirk, 'Somepony's jealous' she couldn't help but think.
"Now that our names are out of the way, what do we do now?" Tails asked finally stopping from the laughter.
Jade cleared her throat and spoke, "Well, uh Twi when do we leave? For the party I mean." Twilight pondered for a few moments then responded, "Well assuming Pinkie will be here tomorrow to send out the invitations we will just have to wait and see."
Sonic chirped in, "Sooo we need a place to crash in, I'm assuming it's here right?" He said already upstairs jumping on her bed making himself comfortable. Twilight glared at him, 'He can't be serious!' Twilight thought.
"I mean since we can't be seen and all." He said. Twilight levitated him off her bed, "No." She said sternly setting him along with his friends.
"Pardon his actions, Twilight, sometimes he can be a moron." Tails said with a sympathetic smile.
"I understand completely, it's just Spike is going to be here next sunrise and I'm pretty sure he would want an explanation why I just let you guys spend the night here. So I will get you guys a hotel for the night. Once I receive news from Pinkie, I will visit you and have you prepared."
"Sounds good to me." Sonic said.
"Thanks Twilight." Jade added.
"Yeah we really owe you one!" Tails said. Then all attention turned to Shadow.
Jade glared at him, "That's probably the most you gonna get out of him, consider that good for him to shut up." She said with a wink to Twilight.
"Well let's go get you guys checked in a hotel room!" Twilight said with a smile. One by one they left the Library with Shadow being the last.
Before he left her turned to Twilight and mumbled, "Thanks." And with that he left along with Sonic, Tails and Jade. Twilight gave a small smile,
"You're welcome."
Chapter 5: Bigger Things to Worry About
The 4 waited out front waiting for Twilight's return. They didn't feel like going inside, which baffled Twilight. They could at least introduce themselves to other ponies and start knowing ponies around town.
Twilight came into distance and approached with a suspicious wide smile. "Here's your key to the room." Twilight said levitating a silver plastic card to Tails, who failed to carry it with his new experience with hooves.
Clearly it was obvious she was hiding something. Sonic was the fist to speak up, "What's uh with that smile you have?"
"You'll see, lets go check out your room!" Twilight said sounding a bit more normal. "What room number do you have?"
Tails looked at the card, and in engraved black, was Room #83 , "Room 83, where's that at?"
All Twilight could do was smile, "I'll show you." And with that she led them inside the hotel.
It was almost like a maze to get there, had to walk down a hall, go up the elevator, walk more halls, pass a vending machine as to which Sonic couldn't resist getting some chips, then walked down a few more halls.
They arrived at a red door, with the golden number 83 across the front. "Do the honors Tails." Twilight said stepping back from the door allowing him to step up and slide the card to unlock it. With many tries and drops he made a final success.
As he unlocked it Twilight opened the door and stood pleased while the 4 (surprisingly including Shadow) had shocked faces.
It was a large room, on one side of the wall tall tan curtains draped down perfectly with Luna's moonlight shining through it. Along with a table for 2 in front of it. Set with a large drawer with a television on top with the remote next to it. Then to top it off 2 large beds with body pillows and regular pillows, including space for enough for a small drawer with a little lamp. Including a door which led to the restroom.
"Wow.." They all said in a unison. Twilight looked around the room and was satisfied with her doing, then noticed a fault with the room.
"Oh, gosh, I'm sorry there's only 2 beds!" She said covering her mouth with her hoof.
"Nah, it's fine Twilight, really. I'm pretty sure we can settle this." Tails said giving her a friendly smile. "Plus you've done a lot for us, so I think we can handle something as small as a bed situation."
Twilight looked behind him to see that Jade had already jumped on the bed, and stretching. "Yeah Twi, this is perfect." She said sounding more comfy each word.
"Alright, I trust you guys, I will be here tomorrow to pick you guys up at 2:00 p.m to go head out for lunch, I believe they have free breakfast down stairs, so feel free to get that tomorrow!" Twilight said turning around heading for the door. "Remember I'll be here at 2:00 p.m. to pick you guys up!" The 3 smiled (course not Shadow) at her before she left closing the door behind her.
Sonic looked at Jade who had her eyes closed enjoying the relaxing bed. "Sooo , heh, Jade, guess it's you and me sharing a bed right?" He said putting a hoof around her as she glared at him.
"Fuck that! Have that bed over there." She said pointing to the bed then pushed him off the bed with her flank. Shadow couldn't help but smirk at the scene. "This bed is all mine, and I'm not sharing it with any of you! No offense Tails." She said getting underneath the covers.
"Non-taken." Tails said with an understanding smile. " I guess I can share with Shadow and Sonic." Tails said not so pleasantly, in fact almost disgusted. Shadow glared at Tails for his words.
"To hell with that! I'll sleep on the floor." Shadow said going to the closet contempt they had extra blankets and pillows.
"Oh, Shadow darling! Now you decide to speak?" Jade said lifting her head up to get a glance of him trying to get the hang of getting the blankets with his hooves.
"Oh, shut up." He said looking at her then focused back on the blankets.
"How...." Shadow poked the blankets with his hoof. "How the hell..?" He tried grabbing the ends of it with both hooves and dragging it across the floor. "Screw it.." He had finally given up on trying to work with his hooves and used his mouth.
"Guess it you and me Tails..." Sonic said as they both giving each other awkward glances. Then an awkward silence fell upon the 4.
To break the silence Jade was the first to speak up, "So you guys excited for Dash's birthday?" She looked at Sonic who gave a 'HECK YEAH '. Then to Shadow who remained quiet , which was as good as a 'yes' to her. Tails sighed and responded very bluntly, 'No.'
"What?! Why?" Sonic exclaimed only to receive a serious look on Tails's face.
"Are you guys kidding? You mean to tell me that oh, I don't know 'Getting Home ' didn't cross the minds of any of you?" Tails said almost sternly.
"Woah.. chill out Tails, we just got here, and it wasn't like we were transported here by accident." Sonic said getting on the bed away from Jade's.
"Do you guys not remember? We were testing my invention not staying in my invention." Tails explained. Jade would've spoken up but she hated when he made a valid point, it was always hard to have an opposing defense.
"I'm sorry..." Tails sighed, "But we are going to have to go. Soon."
"We are going to stay till Rainbow Dash's party right?" Jade asked.
Tails didn't respond. "Doesn't matter what he says, we are going to at least be here for that ." Sonic said staring at Jade with her nodding in agreement.
"I..I guess we can stay long enough for that." Tails said smiling at Sonic and Jade.
"Yes!" Sonic and Jade said at the same time. Sonic was tempting to say 'JINX! ' until he got a glare from Jade as if saying, 'You better not or I'll slap the shit out of you. '
Jade glanced at the clock on the small drawer next to her. In bold red it read: 11:37 p.m.
"Well looks like we should get some sleep. Night guys!" Jade said looking at Tails and Sonic awkwardly sleep with each other. Jade gave a slight chuckle.
"I'll be nice, but only for this once." Jade said scooting over in the bed making room. "I guess you can sleep with me Sonic, but not like that . Don't even think this will happen again, and don't cross the imaginary line here Sonic." With that being said, Sonic rushed over to Jade, who tossed him a pillow, and laid down.
"Thanks." Sonic whispered to her.
"Shut it, and don't mention it, literally just.. don't." Jade responded turning her back to him.
Silence filled the room, with the sleeping ponies. Sonic sleeping almost back to back besides Jade. Shadow sleeping motionless. Then Tails, who smiled in his sleep, thinking about going home.
Jade opened her eyes as she stretched with a yawn. "Man, that was one good sleep I don't now about y'all though!" She looked to her side expecting to see Sonic, but to her realization he wasn't there.
"Must being using the bathroom." She gave a laugh at the thought of him trying to use the bathroom as a pony. Then it hit her, How would she? Eh, that's a later problem. She looked over to Tails's bed, he was gone too. Jade made a baffled face.
"Wha-?" She looked at the time that read: 12:15 a.m.
Nopony was there, except for her, she was alone.
"DAMNIT!" Jade yelled out stomping her front hooves down in rage. "How could they?!" She hollered through the empty hotel room. "Th-those bastards.." She said suddenly slowly losing her rage to a heart filled sadness. "Was I only getting in the way of their plans?" She hadn't realized tears started forming in her eyes. "Did they just leave me here?" She let a few tears slide down, "I thought they were happy with our plans..." She gave a sniffle. "Maybe.. M-Maybe.."
Jade had a mental breakdown and let the tears rush down her cheeks. As she sat with her back to the side of the bed she kept repeating 2 words:
'ごめんね '
With her anger and depressed feelings, she felt somewhat different.
But at the same time it was all too familiar to her.
Her vision got blurry as more tear fell down below within her forelegs. Then a though ran through her head, 'Do ponies get a dark form? I mean, I came from another dimension... ' Her sobs turned to screams through-out the time she spent in the room alone.
Her rage took over and she got up and began to throw all the pillows against the wall. Feathers flew from left to right. She grabbed each pillow one by one with her mouth and began swinging it side to side like a dog with a chew toy.
When she calmed down to just sniffles to be heard. She looked around at the mess she made, peaceful feathers scattered about on the floor, pillow cases either ripped or shredded and the bed sheets left untouched, she felt that she wouldn't want to take it out on bed sheets since she prefers pillows because they feel more fitting.
Jade gave a few more sniffles before hearing hoofsteps coming to her direction of the room as well as different voices.
"Which hall is it again?" A feminine voice said, only to be replied with multiple grunts of annoyance. "No! We're lost aren't we? Oh god we are lost!" A whinny male voice cried out almost in agony.
"Could you just shut the fuck up for one minute and stop whining?" Said a much deeper voice, which this time Jade recognized.
Jade ran to the door and put her ear against the cold wooden platform to hear better and to make sure she wasn't just hallucinating their voices. "Chill out! There is no need for whining and defiantly no need for swearing. Just look for the room number, ok?" Another voice spoke, which sounded younger from the rest.
"It's them!" Jade yelled out in disbelief. "I-I thought they left me..." She said putting her head down. She looked around the room once more, "Damn... The mess I made.." She began to search the room for a broom. Going to the closet she found hangers, extra bl-
*Knock Knock Knock*
Jade was startled and jumped up. A loud thud could be heard from her head colliding with something hard, she looked up to see that, that something was the shelf. She groaned and got up.
*Knock Knock*
Jade could hear mumbling from behind the door, "Look, it says room #83, so I'm just gonna assume this is our room, and if it isn't then.. Uh.. Check with the clerk?" The younger voice said. Jade walked to the door and gave a small sigh as she looked to the messy room back to the door.
She took a deep breath and unlocked the door and swung it open to reveal Tails, who was looking at Jade, Sonic, who was in the back pacing back and forth, and Shadow who had his normal poker face on next to a new mare, who she'd swear she has seen before. Jade examined her thoroughly, she had a shinny blonde mane with her fitting gray coat along with a saddlebag. What got her attention most were her eyes. Cross-eyed. Yellow crossed-eyed. It suited her well.
"Jade! Thank god w-" Tails perked up first. He glanced behind her then looked back at her, "What in the dear Lords name did you do to the room?!" He exclaimed, she dared not look at him, instead he walked past her to get a better view of the room.
Sonic looked at Jade with happiness and ran to her side and gave her a hug. "I thought we wouldn't see you again! You see, cause we got lost from our way back from breakfast, and we just couldn't find the room."
Jade pointed to the mare, "Sooo.."
"Yeah! Her name is Ditzy," he leaned in closer to Jade, "Also known as Derpy," He leaned back out and gave the blonde mare a nod.
"Hi!" She said sounding bubbly and cheery. "You have some crazy friends there Miss!" She said looking to Shadow and Sonic.
Jade glanced at all of them then sighed with a small smile, "Trust me, that's not even the half of it."
The mare gasped, "Oh! Here!" Derpy turned around to take something out of her saddlebag as Sonic and Shadow both went inside the messy room with a freaking out Tails. She held out a blueberry muffin. "The boys wanted me to give you a part of breakfast! Sorry if you don't like blueberry, but it's good! You have my word!" The mare said proudly with her free hoof over her heart.
Jade gladly accepted the offering, "It's fine, plus I actually like blueberry." She said with a sincere smile.
"It was wonderful to meet you Ditzy, but we have an expectant visit coming in about 20 minutes and as you can tell we have to clean up." The crossed-eyed mare nodded and walked down the carpeted hallway.
As soon as she was out of sight Jade shut the door and placed her muffin on the table then looked to the three in the room gazing at the scene before them.
"What the hell did you do?!" Tails screeched. Which received the attention of the other two boys. Tails hardly ever sweared so this was a whole new side of him.
"First, choose your language wisely mister you're standing on a fine line between life ," She held up her left hoof, "and fucking death ." She said with her right hoof held up. "Second, what did I do? What did you do? I go to sleep to wake up to find nobody here! You didn't think to wake me up or something?!" Tails still had his defense prepared but she wasn't done yelling. "So help me if you ever do that again I will nail all your testicles to the fucking wall let them shrivel up then I'll cram them down your god damn throats!
They all gave a scared look on their face nopony had it in them to talk to her.. Not like this. But some ponies have the stupidity to do so. "G-God damn.. Well you're going to have a hard time, cause I think ours is already is shriveled up just by the thought of it..." Sonic said almost laughing.
She glared at him, but it was no use he was already laughing on the floor. "Why the hell is he laughing?" Shadow finally managed to speak out.
"Drugs." Tails said simply.
"Damn...I need a dose of that shit of whatever he's on.."
After finally settling things down a bit with Sonic laughing, Jade and Tails both furious at each other they began the clean up, looking at the time being it was 12:53
Waiting for Twilight's visit, they all sat in a awkward silence. Jade began to nibble on her muffin while they each shared glances trying to think of a topic to talk about.
Thankfully Tails broke the silence, but not in the best way...
"I've been thinking you guys," Sonic looked at Tails expectantly and added, "Like always.." Ignoring the comment, Tails went on. "We have to talk to Twilight about.." He took a deep breath, afraid of their responses. "About getting home.." He finally finished receiving all the attention.
"How 'bout we just wait a little longer before breaking it to her about the whole home thing, Okay?" Jade spoke up.
"Well we gotta tell her what's on our mind." Tails firmly said.
"You mean what's on your mind. Not ours." Sonic said sternly to his friend.
Tails gave him a glaring side glance, "Fine... We just gotta tell her." He said loosing the stern face to a saddened one.
"We?" Jade chirped in, "To be honest I think it would sound better coming from you rather than any of us." She spoke as she looked at him.
"Why me? Could it just be Sonic?" Tails pointed to Sonic's direction. "Or ma-.. Yeah no, probably not the best idea to have Shadow tell her." Shadow gave him a glare.
"I think Twilight could at least relate or level with Tails." Sonic suggested.
"Plus you brought up this conversation." Jade sided with Sonic
"But wh-"
*Knock Knock*
The four stared at the door, to the clock that read 1:03 p.m. You do it ' to Tails. He gave an uneasy glance back as she turned around to answer the door.
Jade opened the door to reveal Twilight standing there with a large smile on her face. "Hey! Twilight!" Jade exclaimed to the purple Alicorn. Twilight smiled as Jade opened the door for her to come into.
"I'm glad you guys are awake! I came as fast as I could when I received Pinkie's note. Sorry if I'm a tad late, I tried flying my way here.." The gang tried to zone her out. They needed to discuss something important.
"Twilight..." Tails attempted to begin. But the Alicorn went on.
".... So I just decided to teleport here. Oh! The party invitation! You wouldn't believe what Pinkie Pie did! She decided to sing her telegram song again ! I asked..."
"Twilight!" Tails second attempt was yet another failure.
"It went so fast I could hardly tell what she was saying! Thankfully she also handed out a paper invite or else I wouldn't have even known what she was..."
Tails tried his third attempt, "TWILIGHT!" He screeched out. Finally and successfully getting her attention.
"Oh.. My bad. Was I ranting on again?" She sheepishly smiled.
"Heh, yeah.. But uh, T-Twilight," Tails gulped, "W-we gotta tell you something..." He said taking a deep breath before telling the news to her.
Twilight looked at him as he trembled in his spot and made a baffled face. "What is it?"
There was a brief silence.
"Tails.. Are you ok?" She said sounding worried. "What is it that you need to tell me?" Twilight tried to lighten his mood by giving him a slight sincere smile.
Tails sighed. "Alright I'm just gonna tell it to you strait... Twilight... We were wondering.. When will we go home?" He said giving up, and spoke very bluntly. But regretted it.
Twilight flattened her ears and went back to her worried look. Only saying a single word quietly and sadly.
"Oh.."
