Aurora

It was a gloriously sunny day in Ponyville, especially Cloudsdale. Everypony was having fun. Everypony was happy. Everypony but Aurora. Aurora curled up into a ball on a cloud, alone. She always wondered why she had to be brought into the world. She was just a boring old pegasus orphan, who nopony cared about. It was always her dream to have somepony, just one to love her unconditionally. Her ears drooped. Her eyes started welling up. Tears came rolling out of her eyes. "Nopony loves me. Nopony ever will."

"Twilight Sparkle."

Twilight calmly trotted over to Celestia and bowed.

"Yes, Princess Celestia?"

"Twilight, there is no need to bow to me. Have you already forgotten you are a princess?" Celestia smiled.

"Right. Hehe, I'm slowly adjusting to it." Twilight laughed.

"That's good. It has come to my attention that there are a few lost orphan fillies that need to be sent to the orphan shelter. Seeing as you are our new princess of Equestria, It would be a great start to do some generous things."

"You can count on me Princess!"

Aurora slumped on a large cloud. No. Today there will be no slumping. You are wasting your life Aurora. You have to do something! She told herself that almost everyday. And almost everyday that never happened. She had always wanted to go to Ponyville, but although she was a pegasus, she couldn't fly. She had always wanted to be a unicorn. So she could teleport or something like that. She could only dream...

Twilight left the castle in a rush and flew straight to Cloudsdale. She had always thought wings were pretty worthless and never understood them. But as she flew she now understood the joy of having wings. She stretched her wings out and let the cool summer breeze blow against her wings and mane. "I now know why Rainbow Dash cherishes her wings more than anything else", she laughed to herself as glided through the air. She started to loop and do all sorts of tricks she never thought she was capable of oh it was so much fun yet so relaxi-Wait. Twilight knew what she was here for and her wings weren't going to put her off her concentration. "Gee these wings are like drugs", she said to herself. Twilight scanned the whole of Cloudsdale, (well almost the whole of it) finding no orphans anywhere. All sorts of things started to pop up in her mind from there. What if Celestia tricked me? What if this was a test? Did I fail? Oh no! Have I already failed at being a good pri-Wait! She instantly spotted what seemed to be an orphan. No...could it be? It was too well cared for! Never had Twilight seen a filly in her life with such beauty! She instantly glided to the filly to greet it.

Aurora sat down and watched at all the ponies in Ponyville play games and do fun things. All she could ever dream of was there. If only she could fly. WHOOOSH! Something strange was going on. Nopony ever goes near her. She looked up, for the very first time in awhile and saw a great big purple alicorn heading straight towards her. She squealed in fright and try to make herself invisible in the clouds. What the hay was going on? "Please don't hurt me! I'm just an innocent filly that nopony loves!", she cried. Those were the first words she had said in years. The strange purple alicorn stood in front of her intimidatingly.

"Hello, uh, sorry to give you a fright. My name is Twilight Sparkle, and I am one of Equestria's new princesses. I have been ordered by princess Celestia to rescue orphan fillies and colts in Cloudsdale but I have had no luck. So, I don't mean to be rude but, are you an orphan?"

"Y..y...yes', Aurora stammered.

Twilight felt she may have done something wrong. Was she too mean? Was she scary now that she was a big alicorn princess and stuff? Maybe she could befriend the filly.

"What's your name?"

"Aur-r-rora", the filly stammered.

"Would you like to live with me for a bit in Ponyville? There's always room for another pony!"

"Really!?" Aurora beamed.

"Why of course! I'm sure one more pony in the library couldn't hurt!"

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I...I LOVE YOU!!", Aurora hugged Twilight.

Twilight smiled and took the filly under her wing.

Aurora was so excited she could just scream to the whole world that she was going to have a home. Even better, with a Princess!
