Joe and Nebula: A Tale of Two Evils

The Grey colt plopped onto Joe's lap.

"Tell me a story daddy." He said. The brown pony scratched his chin.

"What kind of story?" Joe asked.

"A story about you and mom." The colt said.

"Which one." He asked.

"The one with you and rainbowdash." The colt said. The brown pony nodded.

"One day me, mom and rainbowdash were going into town. We were going to visit pinkie pie to help is plan for fluttershy's birthday. But we never got there in time to help plan because right when we walked into town we sa-" he stopped when he saw the colt was asleep on his chest he picked up the colt and flew towards the room, slowly to avoid waking him and set him down on his bed. He wrapped him up in the covers and closed the door. Joe was happy. No, he was the happiest pony alive. He had a great son that was talented in music, like himself, a great wife, and a great place to be. He was finally able to rest. His life had been perfect ever since nebula had been taken care of three years earlier. Everything was perfect.

Joe walked into his own bedroom and saw applejack sitting on the bed, reading.

"Well, this is new." Joe said and applejack quickly hid the book under the covers. She smiled at him.

"I have I idea what your talking about." She said but being the element of honesty, she couldn't tell a lie. She sighed and Joe laughed. He climes into the bed and looked at the book.

"Daring Doo ehh. She's still writing these?" Joe said motioning towards the book. Applejack nodded,

"They are good books." She said sheepishly.

"I didn't say they weren't, I just don't read em'." He said. "But reading is a great past time." He said handing her the book.

"If you tell rainbowdash you'll find yourself on the next batch of cider." She said with a humorous glint in her eyes.

"Cross my heart hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." He said turning off the lamp next to him. He snuggled up with applejack and right before they went to sleep the felt the small colt wriggle in between them. He chuckled and let sleep take him.
