Chapter 12: Tension

Well, a few days had passed, since the embarrassing incident with the key, and Treble and Octavia were staying in the guest bedroom… which made things weird. And I mean REALLY weird. I mean, it's that moment when you realize that your sister gets more tail than you do. And the thin walls didn't really help any. I still remember Ivory asking me to go check on them the first time because she thought they were fighting. Well, needless to say, the things I saw can never be unseen. And let me tell you, breakfast gets really awkward after that.
Well, it was a quiet breakfast, as it had been every morning, since that horrible, horrible view. Ivory and I on one side of the table, and Treble and Octavia on the other. It was a few moments before anypony said anything. "Okay, Bass," Treble started. "I have a proposition for you and Ivory."
I quickly swallowed my food, nearly choking in the process. Needless to say, I jumped the gun there. "No!"
"Bass, I haven't even-"
"No, I don't want Ivory involved in your sick games, Treble. And even thinking of involving me? That's just sick! You're my sister!"
Treble dropped her fork, and was now staring at me, in shock.
Octavia shot me an inquisitive eyebrow. "Say what?"
I might as well have dug my own grave at that point. "Oh… you weren't talking about that… were you."
Octavia spoke up again for the still dumbstruck Treble. "Of course not, you lunatic! We were going to ask if you and Ivory would like to join us on our Equestria tour."
I looked over to Ivory, who was on the verge of falling out of her chair from laughter, then back to the two mares. "You should've just said so." Now, Ivory had actually fallen out of her chair, and was now rolling around on the floor, suffering from a hysterical fit of laughter.
"I tried to," Treble finally spoke. "Until you went off on your wild accusations."
"Well, it's up to Ivory. You know I'm down for anything, Treb… well… ALMOST anything."
"Dearly noted."
======================
It was around midday, and Ivory and I had decided to take a walk through central park to talk about the matter at hand.
"So, what do you think, Ivy? I imagine it would be fun to see all of Equestria. Not to mention that you'll be playing your music."
"Well, that would be nice," she said, leaning her head against me, "but I don't know if I want Tempo around you."
I raised my eyebrow at her, slightly confused at her statement. "Don't trust me, babe?"
She shook her head, looking down at the bench where we shared our first kiss. "No, I trust you. It's her that I don't trust."
And now, I was more confused. "What do you mean by that?" My thoughts immediately went back to the pale red unicorn, whom I had met only once before. I mean, yeah, she was somewhat attractive, but she was a bit too eccentric for my tastes. I mean, it's not like I cared, anyway. I was perfectly happy with Ivory, and there was nothing that could tear me away from her.
"Well," she began, "She used to be a little… well, you know. She was the wild one of the group."
"Oh. So you think she'd try to steal me away from you?"
"Try, yes. Succeed? Hopefully not."
I looked into her sky blue jewels, and gave her a quick kiss. "Trust me, babe. There's nothing in this world that could make me do that to you."
She smiled, and nuzzled her head into my neck. "And that's why I love you."
I chuckled. "So that's the only reason why?"
As predicted, she raised a hoof and tapped my muzzle. "Shut up, dummy. That's not what I meant."
Of course, this sent me into another fit of laughter. "Do you ever say what you mean, babe? Or is speech not your strong suit?"
"Don't make me hurt you." I'll admit. That little glare she gave me was adorable.
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna d- OW!"
I looked down, after feeling a sharp lingering pain in my neck, and saw Ivory, her teeth clamped onto my neck, and a smile on her face.
"That's not fair!" I don't know what was going on in my mind or body at that time. My legs started to tingle, and suddenly, poof. My wings burst from my back, nearly pushing me off the bench. Ivory had of course let go by now, and was in the midst of hysterics.
"What was that, Bass?" I heard her muscle out through her laughter.
"Something you should probably never do in public ever again." The look on her face changed considerably. She wasn't laughing anymore. No, now she was eyeing me like a hawk. A very motived hawk… with an evil grin.
