"Rainbow wait up!" Came a voice from down the corridore.
Rainbow Dash turned around to see Lightning Dust trotting toward her.
"Hey Lightning, we're ya goin?" Inquired Rainbow.
"CIC, you?"
"Same," Rainbow Dash said.
The two mares trotted down the hall until they reached a large steel door labeld "CIC".Rainbow put a hoof on a wheel on the door and gave the wheels a spin and pushed the door open, once open the door revealed a room adorned with lights, buttons and screenes along the wall and on consoles scatterd throught the room.
"Welcome back," Said a large, white alicorn mare.
"Good to be back, somewhat," Rainbow said.
"Lightning dust, get down to the flight deck, chief has some questions for you about your viper," Celestia said gesturing toward the door.
Lightning Dust soluted and without a word trotted out of the room.
Celestia turned back to Rainbow and said "How was your shore leave captain?"
"Excellent, yours?" The rainbow mare said
"Unaventful, lots of homework." Celestia said
"So any idea why we were called back early?" Rainbow Dash asked
"Well their are rumors about pirating escalating over in Picon airspace." The admiral suggested
'That would make sense' Rainbow Dash thought 'we haven't had a descent mission in months, even though we are the newest ship in the fleet'. The Alicorn was only 10 years old and had been constructed with networked computers online its 12 older counterparts that were resistant to hacking by their greatest enemy's, the Changelings.
Lightning Dust briskly trotted down to the flight deck. When she arrived she scoured the flight deck which was bustling with ponies going about their various duties preparing for whatever it was that shortend their shore leave. Finaly after asking several different deck hands she located Applejack working on a viper mk.vii.
"Hey chief, ya had a question for me?" Lightning Dust asked
"Sure did, ah' got somethin tah' show y'all, and ah might add dat ah' was not very pleased with it." Applejack said as she walked toward a storage closet.
Lightning Dust followed Applejack toward the storage closet. Applejack opened the door to the closet and Applejack followed her inside shut the door behind her and spun the wheel and activated the lock. As soon as the door was sealed Applejack pushed Lightning Dust against the door and pressed her lips against the gold maned mare. Lightning dust welcomed the kiss and pulled Applejack closer. After a few seconds that felt like minuets Applejack broke the kiss.
"Ah' missed y'all somethin fierce ya know." Applejack said
"I missed you to" Lightning Dust said
"Are we still havin dinner tonight?" Applejack asked as she stroked Lightning's golden mane.
"You bet, meet me in my quarters at 6:00 sharp." Lightning said
"C'mon lets get back to the deck or ponies will get suspicious" the orange earth ponie said.
Back in the CIC colonel Luna stepped into the room.
"Colonel on deck!!" Somepony yelled
All the ponies snapped to attention and saluted the to XO.
After a few seconds Luna said "at ease everypony and welcome back"
Luna stepped toward the admiral as everypony went back to there various duties. Luna levitated a file folder toward the admiral and set it on the large glowing table in front of her. Rainbow looked at the folder "to be read by admiral Celestia's eyes only" it read in large red print. Soon the folder was grasped in a golden aurora as Celestia levitated in front of her face. When she was done reading she shot a golden ray of energy out of her horn and incinerated the folder.
Princess Celestia picked up a large bulky phone from the side of the glowing table and spoke.
"Mares and gentlecolts" she said, words echoing throughout the ship "this is the admiral speaking, we now have our orders. Standby until further notice, we will soon be departing from dock, once on our way I will announce the details of our mission, thank you." The admiral put down the phone and sighed.
"So on a scale of 1-10 how exciting is this 'mission' of ours" Luna asked
"I would give a 5" Celestia said
Luna lowered her head in disappointment and sighed.
"Hey it's better than the last mission" Rainbow Dash said with a shrug.
"Well actually" Celestia said "it's a lot more exciting than you think.
President Blueblood sat in his office signing papers like he did every Monday morning when he hear a knock on the large pinewood doors that sealed his office.
"Come in!" He said
A brown earth pony colt that he did not recognize stepped into the office, the brown colt closed the great doors and approached the president.
"What is it that could possibly be so important?" the president asked
"I am very sorry mr.president, sir but its very urgent" said the unknown colt in a strong Trottingham accent he slowly passed a folder. The colt quickly trotted out if the room and shut the doors behind him.
"Frack!" Cursed Blueblood after the colt left the room. "Hat is that colt's problem? Interrupting my time! Of all the ponies who's time he could interrupt he just had to pick mine!" He yelled
Blueblood sigh and picked up the folder with his magic.
"Yes, yes very interesting" he said sarcastically as he read the folder's contents. After thinking over the information he had just read he realized the severity of the situation.
He picked up the piano black phone sitting on his desk and said:
"This is president Blueblood, get me on a secure line with the battlestar Alicorn, now."
