Chapter Three: Planet Noctura Part One

The Doctor's POV:

I suspect that The Keeper didn't exactly believe that I was telling him the full story about the time war. Which indeed I was. You see if I actually told The Keeper that I was the one who ended the war and of the method I used to stop it, I risked hime recovering the memory that he was the one who started the war in the first place. The only known survivors of the Time War were me, The Keeper, and another Time Lord called The Master.

Back then The Keeper had gone by another name. He called himself the Vanguard but the title he was given by the Time Lords was The Destroyer of Worlds. A title he lived up too quite nicely in fact. I'll make it simple and say that he was the worst child that could have been born. He was very clever and insanely smart. So smart he put even the most intelligent of ponies to shame, but in the end it was his arrogance that allowed me to defeat him. I later inherited the name when a race that I had visited had mistaken me for him.

For his crime of destroying countless worlds and for forcing me to destroy our own race, I threw him into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy, where he was to be imprisoned for all eternity, but now I know that it didn't work since he's back.

However the Vanguard has lost him memories and has taken up the name The Keeper. If I'm lucky, he'll have permanent memory damage if I'm not...well, I'll think of something.

As I was thinking about him, I remember him telling me about the note and the reason why he called himself The Keeper. Someone had to have left him that note and therefore meaning someone had saved him from his prison. I need to find who ever this pony was and ask them a few questions.

I waited for the Keeper to come back instead of looking for him. He appeared to have been thinking about a few things, not that I could blame him. How would you react if you wake up for what seemed to be the first time of life and find out that you're one of the last members of your race? I didn't question him since it was already a given since I knew what he was thinking about. So I decided to just think of something else. "You know, I think I can show you something that'll cheer you up." I said as I stood at the T.A.R.D.I.S console hesitantly. I wondered what planet should I show him. Well, I knew what I should do next, but upon reflection I realized that there was an entire universe out there, just waiting for us. So I decided that the "shoulds" could wait and the "coulds," well they were always much more fun anyway.

Me, being The Doctor, having made his decision was determined to see it through. I set the coordinates at random and threw back the lever without a moment's hesitation, all the while grinning like a madman as the T.A.R.D.I.S lurched about, coming to a halt quite suddenly. I stepped towards the door and motioned The Keeper to follow me, my hoof lingered over the handle for a second before I opened and stepped outside.

We looked around, and was baffled by what we saw, or what "we" didn't see would be a far more accurate description. It was pitch dark, and not so much as a flicker of like could be seen. At first I thought we must have landed in a cupboard somewhere, but I had felt a light breeze playing across my face. So I took my sonic screwdriver from out of my pocket and held it out in front of myself.

"I thought you said you wanted to show me something. I don't really see anything." The Keeper said as he took a few steps forward.

The sonic screwdriver emitted a loud buzzing sound and a flare of green light, not very bright, but enough for me to see general outlines. Keeper took a look around and saw that we were in a city street. I noticed that many of the buildings were damaged and some were nothing but rubble. "Hm...I think we took a wrong turn. This place seems horrible, I wonder what happened here." Before I could begin to wonder what had happened here one of several things occurred. I heard a noise coming from behind us, as I turned around as quickly as I could to see a figure and the next thing I know a large electrical pain shot threw my body and then I was unconscious.

...

I awoke to what felt like three hours of sleep, later feeling groggy. When my head stopped spinning I noticed a crack of light a few feet away from where I was. I figured it must be a door, but what was in the other side of the door, I shuddered to think. I didn't have long to ponder the mess I had gotten us into, because Keeper decided to say something. "Haven't been wake for one day and I've already been to jail." He said sounding disappointed.

"I've been to jail lot's of times. It's not as bad as you think. Sure the food is horrible and you constantly have to watch your back...but look on the bright side...free beds!" I said sarcastically. He was about to say something but he stopped when he heard movement from the other side of the door. Both of our hearts began beating fast as soon as the door creaked open to reveal a large buff pony. He stood before The Keeper and I; his mouth set in a grim line and looked upon us with eyes that held no mercy.

"Hello," said I cheerfully, trying to wave, only to realize that I was chained to the floor.

The man continued to stare, finally speaking after what seemed like an eternity. "You have been deemed a threat and will be executed forthwith." He said in a rough voice.

"Right," said I uneasily. "Executed, not good. Er, did you say threat? Because I am a lot of things, good cook, terrific dancer, wine expert, although I hate the stuff, but the one thing I am most certainly not, is a threat. Believe me."

"And why should I do that? You were found in a restricted area in possession of an unidentified weapon." He said showing me the sonic screwdriver.

"Weapon?" I asked. "Oh, you mean my screwdriver. It's not a weapon, it's completely harmless, well mostly, if you're made out of wood. You're not made out of wood are you? Nah, you look squishy...too squishy to be wood. Hey Keeper have you ever met a pony who was made out of wood?"

"Uhhh, let me think about-no!" He said reminding me that he had amnesia.

The Pony took a step forward, scrutinizing me. "You talk too much," he said. "We will see to that."
